Handa-kun

Handa-kun

Introduction

Hated by everyone around him, Sei Handa goes about his high school life regarded as an outcast—or at least that is what he believes. In reality, Handa is the most popular student on campus, revered by all for his incomparable calligraphy skills, good looks, and cool personality. However, due to an endless series of misunderstandings, Handa perceives the worship he receives from his legions of fans as bullying, leading the school's idol to shut himself off from the rest of his classmates. But distancing himself from his peers does not deter them from adoring him; in fact, his attempts at drawing attention away from himself often end up unintentionally converting even the most skeptical of students into believers. Fashion models, shut-in delinquents, obsessive fangirls, and more—none can stand against the brilliance that is Sei Handa. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Handa-kun is a story about a guy named Handa. Handa is the least popular guy in school. Everyone hates him. No one wants to be around him or talk to him. Some even want to hurt him... Or at least that's what Handa thinks. In reality Handa is seen as the coolest guy in school. The guys admire him. The girls love him. But everyone is too afraid to approach him. Handa is really shy and paranoid. So misinterprets everyone's actions towards him. He always unknowingly transforms the lives of all the people he encounters for the better. And so is worshiped by many as divinity. Its a very funny anime with a very funny setup. The characters are all entertaining. The hijinks are fun.

I laughed a few times but I feel like I couldn’t take my attention away from how toxic the relationship between the entire school and Handa is Handa has multiple people who stalk him, and obsess over him like a god. None of them actually know who he really is and assume he’s perfect in every way. I could get into more specifics but I don’t want to type it all out right now. Other than that, I feel like the show gets boring over time as the gimmick, “i think everyone hates me, but they actually love me (too much)”, gets old quick. by the last few episodes I was just trying to finish the series so I could move on. I also feel like many of the characters were just underdeveloped. Anyways, wouldn’t really recommend it. I’m just gonna go rewatch Saiki K for the 5th time.

Handa-kun was funny, but overall a very sad story which left me kind of depressed. It’s no genius masterwork, but it surely has entertainment value. I can see why people wouldn’t like this, and I can see why some do. So definitely give it a try if you’re on the fence and make your own decision. The characters really started to grow on me as the story progressed. It’s over the top humor for the most part, and the story as well as how some situations played out are far from realistic, so don’t expect some down to earth deep anime. Just have fun

I went into this anime, not knowing it was a prequel to Barakamon. I never watched the anime, but on social media, its fans were in despair at their main character falling for the kid when they grow up?? Like everyone loved this story, only to end up feeling betrayed by the author for letting this happen??? So it lowered my star rating by 1 since I didn't watch the series after all. But other than that, without knowing it was connected to that show, I decided to watch this for Tsutsui because I saw a short of his backstory and thought he would be hilarious which he kinda was. But my favorite ended up being Yukio Kondou because he may be ordinary, but in the crowd, he really is the sweetest and most sincere type of guy. I won't lie that I kinda wanted to ship him and Handa together, and I…

This may not be a cup of tea for everyone but for people like me who enjoys anime which isn't stressful and just brings pure joy and relaxation then this is the one for you.I am someone who enjoys this type of genre alot esp any anime with gag humor yes they may not have any plot or whatsoever which is exactly what I seek on a stressful day where I can just sit back and watch an anime which won't stress me out more or build up this tension aboir what's gonna happen next. Its just very random which is makes it funny and enjoyful so anyone who doesn't like this anime clearly wants smth intriguing which u won't find here. Overall I want just say that this easily is one of my top10.I love the setting ,the vibes and evething it gives a very relaxing feeling.Lovd handa kun .

Loved it. Characters are hilarious in their own way. Handa is adorable. Not much going on story wise, but that doesnt take away the enjoyment. I got a few laughs out of it. It's a chill, funny anime. Oh oH The ending song rocks! I could never skip it! Now it is in my favs anime song list. Art is fine, average design, but good enough. Some of the characters were actually pretty peculiar. Would've loved "Handa" to realise sooner that he was the star so he could enjoy having friends. It broke my heart sometime when he felt lonely. I'm heading to Barakamon again, to watch cute adult Handa.

Sakamoto, except he thinks everyone hates him - they actually look up to him. In fact Handa is practically worshiped, much like Sakamoto, maybe even more than him. I can draw many parallels between those shows, but it may be easier for you to just watch it. In every episode we are introduced to new characters and new conflicts where, much like in the Sakamoto series, our MC finds a way to smooth things over with everyone praising him. However Handa, much unlike Sakamoto, has a way of doing all this by accident and though a series of misunderstandings ends up thinking he made everyone mad at him. The show takes itself very lightly with meta commentary spread throughout. If you have time to spare and like lite comedy I'd say give it a go. The series seems to be a prequel to Barakamon, but…

This anime is a great for comedy. I recommend 100% to give it a try. At the beginning I thought it wasn’t going to be that good. But as you progress along the way it gets better. It even got some good laughs out of me. As Handa-kun misinterprets many things it leads to the comedy and when introducing new characters they have something to settle with Handa or just a competition which progresses into showing Handa’s school life. The Handa Force what’s something I thought was going to be annoying, popping up everywhere like stalkers even though they were stalkers they put it in a funny way. Once again I recommended everyone to give it a shot

Well, well, well. If it isn't Handa-kun, the anime that left me scratching my head and wondering what I just watched. Let's break it down, shall we? The Story follows the daily misadventures of Sei Handa, a high school student who is revered as a genius calligrapher. The only problem is, everyone thinks he's a delinquent with a scary demeanor, so they avoid him like the plague. The story is a bit confusing and lacks a clear direction at times, but it's entertaining nonetheless. About The Style is decent, but nothing to write home about. The character designs are unique, but some of the supporting cast look like they were plucked straight out of a different anime. Handa himself is a likable protagonist, even though he's constantly misunderstood. His group of friends are all quirky in the…

I loved this show. If you're coming from Barakamon and are expecting more of the same, Handa-kun might not be the show for you. If you do not enjoy comedy anime, you will not enjoy this show. If you do not enjoy absurd and often awkward humor, you may not enjoy this show. As for me, I loved this show. A good joke is often hard to find, and I do not find myself nearly as filled with glee from a comedy as I felt while watching this show. Frankly, I consider it to be one of the best animes I have ever watched in the years I have spent watching anime. I share it with everyone that I find out also watches anime. And again, I will confess its not for everyone, but it was certainly the show for me.

Not really sure why this series would be hated at all. I guess if you were expecting more Barakamon then I can see where you're coming from but you should treat this show as a different type of thing. It's not trying to be Barakamon. It's trying to be a comedy spin off about Handa and, personally, I feel it works really well. It got me to laugh quite a bit, which I don't usually do at anime. I can see people maybe taking issue with the way things tend to happen in this anime (i.e Handa thinks he's being bullied, says something, everyone thinks he's some kind of god on earth, they love him, he can't understand, etc). But I think that's this shows strong suit. You know these people are gonna end up loving him but its the journey and their thought process that gets you to laugh at how crazy a…

(Spoilers) Story 7/10- The story is about Handa during his high school days and we see how Handa sees himself hated by everyone but in reality, he is loved by everyone due to his looks, personality, and skills but Handa doesn't see that about himself and thinks that everyone thinks negative about him which I think is a funny story and is different from how some highschool anime is like and it's still a small amine but still gives good scenes. Like the Handa we see in the anime, he still loves calligraphy and with how his other traits, he starts getting rivals which we see how they try to outcompete Handa but then realise that Handa is a good person which without Handa knowing, a small fan club was created about him and many more people liking him. I think it's surprisingly a good story, w…

When I started this anime, I didn't expect it to be this good. As soon as the 2nd episode started the comic sense caught me. The anime is so hilarious and the plot of the story is also very good. Anyone who wants to enjoy his/her day off should definitely watch this anime. The comedy was very unique in its own way. I do not have any complaints with it. Just don't expect a proper story out of it. It is not meant to deliver a story, but only to deliver the comedy to its audience which it fully does. Overall its one of those anime that I have enjoyed to the fullest.

I gave it a 7 because this is generally a funny anime to me. I just fucking Hate how they treated Handa-Kun from the start. Favourite character other than Handa would be Eraser girl and the one dull dude lol. I just actually found out that this is a prequel, so that makes me kinda of sad. I only found out about this show from the many hilarious jifs and memes, I don’t know if i should watch Barakamon because i feel like it would take away my thoughts on this show. But dam i wish it had more than 12 episodes like i watch it all in a day. The thing i love most about this show is how Handa really is helping everyone even if he doesn’t realise it.

I was caught off guard with the first episode due to not having seen Barakamon. I had to check to see if I needed to see that first to watch this, but it turns out it was not required. It seemed like a slow start - whether from not having an understanding of all characters at first or from the interesting delivery style of this anime. Definitely a change of pace from what I watch normally, and the ending was great. Overall it turned out to be quite enjoyable to watch in later episodes, and I'm glad I stuck through with it. 8/10

Reason for watching: Barakamon was really good, I had hopes for this "prequel" TL;DR: Forget about Barakamon, the only thing here that is connecting them is the main character. Even with that said, this is a comedy that is difficult to appreciate with its awkward and over the top "jokes" storylines (at least for me, 80% of the comedy moments are forced and cringey) Story I don't know what story there is in this anime, true to the heavens. This is a show that is definitely not in alignment with Barakamon in terms of story concept, story execution, and morals/meanings. Is basically a whole different genre. This is a Comedy show, using the main character in Barakamon as its axis. Honestly, I am more of a "feel good, slice of life, meaningful etc" story person than I am of a comedy jock (Not…

This is essentially a comedy anime, so it is pretty subjective. I really enjoyed it, like most episodes were really funny, I would easily say they were an eight or a nine, but like a few episodes were not really to my taste. but yeah I really enjoyed the show. Though tbh I enjoyed it a bit less than I would have normally because I read the manga just a little before I watched the anime so when I joke was cut I enjoyed it a bit less, otherwise the anime was pretty good. A bit spoilery: The first episode and the episode with the amnesia was really not to my taste but stuff like the cultural festival and the one where handa hangs out with kawafuji was so hilarious.

tl dr; A good anime to watch on a daily basis Even though, this anime Handa-kun is full of funny, stupid moments that you can probably find in any other slice of life/comedy plot set in a high school, I believe it is better than a majority of those other similar anime JUST because of how good its ending was. In general: There's no fantasy element, no romance, no drama--none of those common themes we see in all sorts of films, books, and anime that is overdone to make it seem "unique" than others. All we have is our boy Handa-kun and the stupid events that end up happening because he thinks everyone at school hates him when its the opposite in actuality. When you begin watching: The first episode may feel a bit odd, like a 4th wall breaking moment almost, but just bear through it, and y…

Handa-kun is bizarre. I’ve watched plenty school setting anime with better characters, better jokes, better story, and Handa-kun mostly follows the same routine and stereotypes, yet, it is unique in the approach and concept. There is a lot of hate surrounding it, which I don’t think it fully deserves. There are so many things that just don’t make sense, so many crazy characters, so many weird and surreal scenario’s, that if you decide to not go along with its humor, it can be a completely different unique experience. For those unaware, this is a sort-off prequel to another anime with the same protagonist - “Barakamon”, which is a very different anime in tone and you won’t miss anything by starting with this one. Besides MC, it shares one or two supporting characters and even when it comes…

in my opinion, the worst thing a comedy can be isnt being "unfunny", its being boring. thats exact what handa-kun is. i should start off by saying that i only watched handa-kun because i wanted to watch something akin to sakamoto desu-ka and danshi koukousei no nichijou, which are two animes that are really good at not only executing the jokes/visual gags, but also being generally entertaining and engaging. so coming into handa-kun, i came in pretty unbiased but from what ive heard about barakamon, i had high hopes. story (3/10): there really is no story. every episode revolves around the main premise of the anime which is that handa thinks that everyone hates him, but in reality, hes the coolest and most popular person. hijinks ensue when handa interacts with his peers because theres u…
