Start watching this show because curious about the grade it got.
After finished, I think it deserved. I haven't read the LN or manga btw
Animation is decent, the visual too.
A soft warm OP with a gud story line.
From the start to the end, main character grows and evolves.
Anyway, if u looking for the show where the OP character doing some flashy skills, or solving thing in a way that blows your mind, this probably isn't the one for you. On the flip side, if you're looking for a school-life series with a touch of magic and action, you've come to the right place.

Main plot point behind the story is very intriguing and new. Loved the fantasy background. Animation Quality was Good. Magic was different from what you see in a everyday fantasy. Spells and animation that put in to magic was gorgeous. Loved the overall soundtrack and a beautiful intro as well. Character design were good.
Main characters personality. This is where things starts to go downhill. I will be discreet not to spoil anything.
Monica. She's a introvert. Has social anxiety. They try to convey us that these are the main reason behind her personality. And they vaguely give a idea of her upbringing as well. And through the anime you will see she's not confident either. Little bit of self doubt too. Everything combined should give her this personality. But in reality her actions are su…

Secrets of the Silent Witch is the kind of story that quietly grows on you. It carries the emotional warmth and character-driven storytelling that reminded me of Violet Evergarden, with each episode having its own entire focus (and also her appearance does look like Violet's, don't you agree?). BUT here, instead, it carries the story in the way it gives Monica a genuinely supportive environment to grow in. Watching her gradually become more comfortable around the people surrounding her is easily one of the most enjoyable parts of the series.
The characters are charming, the atmosphere is comforting, and the story has a certain sincerity that makes it surprisingly easy to get attached. There is also something refreshing about seeing a protagonist whose struggles are not simply brushed asid…

This was a really good and wholesome anime. Someone said it doesn't pass the Bechdel test but I'm pretty sure it does. Magic academies and secret identities are pretty well-worn anime territory, but it still works, mostly because of the slow-burn pace and interesting characters. The art style is nice, soft character designs with some really weighty magic scenes, and the characters are interesting, especially the lead, whose anxiety actually shapes her decisions instead of just being played for comedy.
It's quite refreshing actually, fans of quieter, character-driven stuff will probably get more out of it than people wanting fast magic battles right away, and the plot seems like it will get very interesting as the story goes on. Only downside is there's no sign of another season yet.

The prettiest magic anime I've ever seen. Monica is a well-written protagonist with a more than valid justification for her phobia. The world-building and magic system are very solid. I like that Monica isn't learning magic and suddenly turning out to be super talented and blah blah blah, but rather that she's at that academy fulfilling a mission, in addition to being one of the most powerful witches in her universe. That gives a fresh breath of air to the usual cliché. I find it very interesting, and they're different—more than just typical pentagrams and magic circles. I hope it gets a second season in the future because I want to see more of this beautiful anime. I recommend it 100% if you like well-made magic anime.

when i was watching i can say how good the animation and world building was, it was so nice, i just wish there was more times we could had seen the silent witch's talents. i would say story is pretty unique aswell, its nice to see the power dynamic, with the shy character and other people, i don't necesserly like shy characters but i think silent witch done.
i liked the mc being smart aswell, its not uncommon fot shy+smart but again silent witch did it very nice, and i think character development was neatly done, it doesn't immediatly goes shy to energetic/talktive even in last eps you can see she did developed but still has the same shyness in her. thats why i loved it. the reason i gave 7 is again i wanted to see the powers of the sage, they don't show us her powers enough, we still do…

The production quality for this show is completely unbecoming of the writing, which dooms itself to endless inaction.
The studio did an amazing job, but the dynamic feels like there's a terminal need for nothing to happen... All of the characters are contained in one of two silos: shoujo student council things, or the actual plot. The issue is that there's a wall built between this splitting of screen-time, priorities, and dynamics: if any character from the shoujo side learns about the plot side, they must be written off, because the plot itself relies upon things not crossing between these two boundaries, and going back over...
Most of the characterization feels like it happens on the shoujo side, and the plot side makes no efforts towards long term progress in anything, making it feel…

"when trapped in a corner even the mouse can overcome a great hurdle "
I'll be honest, I went into this expecting another generic fantasy anime. You know the type. Overpowered main character, magic academy, evil villains, and a bunch of flashy fights. cus its a great trope.
but i was definitely wrong
What makes Secrets of the Silent Witch stand out is that it doesn't feel like your typical fantasy series. Instead of constantly trying to raise the stakes with world ending threats, it slows everything down. At times it almost feels like a slice of life, then before you know it you're watching a wholesome romance, followed by some genuinely great action. It blends all of these genres together so naturally that none of them ever feel out of place.
The biggest reason this works is Monica.…

The Secret of the Silent Witch huh..... The only secret im curious about after finishing this show is how is it graded so high?
TLDR For those who don't care about the details: There's barely an episode worth of magic in this 12 episode soap opera. A bait and switch.
Now let's get into the details:
This is a show about The Silent Witch,a prodigy in magic and a girl with servere anxiety. And to top that she has severe PTSD as well. I know this is supposed to make her cute and appealing,MOE if you will. But she's so anxious and so PTSD stricken that i simply feel very sorry for her. To the point that all other characters outside the lady pretending to be evil are bullies with the given context. They push her around in ways that should be a crime of some sort. Honestly it was very awkward t…

I have to say this from the bottom of my heart: Season 1 could have been significantly better if the academy arc had been condensed to around five episodes.
I'm not saying the academy setting isn't important to the story, but it simply doesn't have enough emotional weight or meaningful impact on either the protagonist or the supporting characters to justify taking up most of the season. Many of those episodes feel disconnected from the central theme and overarching narrative.
Ironically, the strongest parts of the anime are the beginning and the final two episodes. Those episodes deliver the kind of character development and overarching story I expected from the anime as a whole. The relationship between the protagonist and prince is where the story truly shines, and those moments are co…

Just... no. I love me a powerful MC, and I generally enjoy the ridiculous "noble culture" and "school life" in anime. It's a usually a nice escape from reality. Not in this case.
I don't mind a shy character being pushed to grow, but as someone who was that person for most of my teen years I'm quite particular about it. In the case of this show there's not a single redeeming "pusher," with the possible exception of the one genuinely enjoyable character - Isabelle Norton - who aren't absolute pr---s. Every. Last. One.
Some other (negative) reviewers mentioned that the MC cries almost every episode, and that she has one ongoing expression... But can you blame her? She's surrounded by what amounts to bullies who pretend to want to push her be better. The "adoptive younger sister" is the only…

Secrets of the Silent Witch is an absolute delight of an anime- everything from its creative worldbuilding, to its endearing protagonist, to its gem-like visual quality, every moment is a pleasure to enjoy. Beginning with the story, it embodies fairly well-worn fantasy ideas while also building upon them in fun and engaging ways. It starts with a fan favorite premise of a magical world with magic schools, full of the excitement and complexity that such a world entails. However, it builds on it by introducing the mechanics of its magic system, and how chanting is an essential aspect of that system, giving it an interesting spoken sound as well. Of course, what makes our protagonist special is her capacity for unchanted magecraft, a genius-level innovation that was nonetheless driven mainly…

This was the first anime I watched in a long time that started so horribly. I almost gave up at ep1.
It's shouty, it's constantly shoving plot explanations in your face dozens of times. It sounds like an old format of anime we had finally abandoned.
It does get reasonably better after episode 3. There's less shouting. Less being so ashamed of silent, quiet moments that you need to scream a normal sentence into your face.
I finished it, it's a cute and interesting plot. It was okay. I wanna know where the story goes.
And then I started reading the manga. Scenes that were cut from the anime. Completely different vibe.
This anime absolutely butchered this story and I have no idea why. It could have been great. The story and characters are all there, but it's hard to get over all the sho…

I went in completely blind, and this show absolutely floored me. It strikes a rare and delicate balance between childlike wonder and genuinely darker themes. Strange as it may sound, it kept drawing my mind back to Hunter x Hunter and its ability to balance different themes.
The cast is great. Every character feels alive, purposeful, and deeply compelling in their own right. Now, I'll confess— I have little patience for overly emotional characters. Crybabies in anime tend to grate on me almost instantly (I'm looking at you, Chopper). And yet, every single time the Silent Witch cried, I found myself on the verge of tears as well. That, frankly, is nothing short of a miracle. If you knew me, you'd understand just how extraordinary that statement is.
Lastly, there's a quiet romance running…

I love Everything about it especially the subtle romance and the ongoing development of the romance genre.
The art style is the best like others, bringing out their facial expressions. Just peaceful to watch like a slice of life genre.
All characters are top-notch and interesting, love them, especially the main characters.
I recommend it to others as it's the best way to unwind and just enjoy your free time to de-stress.
All I say is it’s very worthwhile of your time!
With thrilling action and emotional scenes - a heartfelt impact is the best. Can't complain about this anime, I just feel good watching all the episodes.

Silent Witch has been a breath of fresh air.
I have been on a binge of magic/witch animes as of late. I chose to watch this one after the sadness that is "Wandering Witch". Silent Witch gives that show more than a run for its money.
The first few episodes are a bit slow to get into. If you're like me, timid or shy characters get on your nerves. I thought that this would be another slow and abysmal watch with an annoying main character. However, I was definitely wrong. Monica grows on you very quickly once things start falling into place and her backstory opens up. I found myself pleasantly surprised by the end to have really liked her character. I think her timidity allows the other characters within the show to really shine, and the moments where she shows her courage really stand out.…

This one’s a bit of a mixed bag for me.
On the good side, the animation is clean, especially the magic scenes — they really did their thing there. Character designs stay consistent, voice acting is solid, and the soundtrack does its job. Nothing crazy memorable, but it fits.
And honestly… even though Monika can be frustrating as hell — like borderline cliché, even giving those rage-bait moments that remind me of Shield Hero-type writing — I still got attached to her. I wanted to see her win, to grow, to actually overcome her issues.
But that’s where the anime kinda fumbles.
She doesn’t really evolve.
Like, yeah, she interacts with people, opens up a bit, learns she’s not always gonna get treated like trash… but deep down? She stays the same. No real growth, no real payoff. And that’s…

Do you like Bocchi the Rock? You’ll like Silent Witch.
Have you never seen Bocchi, did it disappoint, or did you dislike it?
I feel that. You’ll still probably like Silent Witch.
It’s a lot better.
The story is compelling. The MC grows as a person. The reasons she is the way she is are realistic, well explained, and emotional. The secondary characters are interesting and complex, & a few don’t just feel like they exist solely as foils to the MC. No random low-stakes conflict pops up just to “move the plot along.” Great pacing.
I’m not going to give reasons for why it isn’t perfect; its “flaws” weren’t apparent while watching, & I can’t “unsee” things other people point out if I read a show’s reviews before starting it. Shoutout to reviewers of Tensei Shitara Dai Nana Ouji, thanks a lo…

I think the work starts well, and it has an interesting middle,
but it loses itself a bit in the end. I think it becomes monotonous and dragged out. I also think it could have developed the characters a little better.
Overall, the theme is interesting, and I will check out the second season (if there is one).
It’s funny because even though I think it’s a good anime, something made me feel detached from it.
There are anime with lower ratings that I marked as “recommended” that somehow kept me hooked until the end.
This one didn’t… I watched a little here, a little there, and I was never engaged enough to finish it.
But technically, it is very good.

Secrets of the Silent Witch initially struck me as a bit too derivative a take on the “anxiety disaster girl” trope, but the more this story explored the specific eccentricities of our main character and how her relationships with others grow over the course of the series, the more I grew to enjoy it. Being so socially awkward that you invent an entirely new style of magic casting just so you don’t have to talk in front of others is certainly wacky in a way that I haven’t seen before, but the reasons for why Monica became the stressed-out ball of nerves that she is feels very genuine and compelling, helped along by it being slowly drip-fed to us over the first three-quarters of the series rather than all at once in an overly-long monologue. Her attempts to work past her anxieties and meet…
