High-Rise Invasion

Introduction

Upon witnessing a man's head cracked open with an axe, 16-year-old Yuri Honjou trembles in fear and confusion as she flees from the masked assailant, only to find out she's trapped in an abandoned building where every door is mysteriously locked. Desperately searching for a way out, Yuri runs to the rooftop, but a world with no signs of life stands before her, surrounded by high-rise buildings. Though filled with despair, once she learns that her brother is also in this strange place, Yuri is determined to find him and escape. This is actually the first anime review I've ever written (which is kind of surprising considering I haven't even reviewed my favorite anime), so here we go🔥 Overall: this anime is ASS. But let's break it down: I first heard about High-Rise Invasion during the pandemic because it was everywhere in anime edits and clips, but never actually watched it because of the ridiculous amount of blood constantly exploding across the screen. A couple of years after it came out, I watched a recap on YouTube that was, if remember correctly, almost THREE HOURS long. But when I finally sat down to actually watch the anime last night, I realized I remembered absolutely NOTHING about the story. That's usually not a great sign. The biggest problem is that the series has actually a pretty good premise, bu…

It seemed like something really interesting was coming, but it remained just a promise. Tenkuu Shinpan starts with an idea that immediately grabs your attention: a strange setting, unclear rules, and a constant sense of mystery. As the episodes progress, new questions arise, new pieces of this world are revealed, and the viewer's curiosity only increases. It's the kind of beginning that hooks you precisely because it doesn't explain everything immediately. And, for a while, it works. The visual aspect helps a lot in this beginning. The character design is beautiful, clean, and the contrast with the chaotic environment creates an interesting identity. The art direction manages to convey the feeling of isolation and constant danger well. However, when it comes to fluidity, the animation l…

This might be my least favorite anime, not because it is actively terrible, but because it is so confidently middling. excessive panty shots, ✅ Boring and generic characters, ✅ Passable at best animation, ✅ If you've seen anything of this show its probably Sniper Mask, that's because he is the only character with a shred of emotion or motivation. I'm writing this review years after I watched this and he is the only aspect of this show I remember. I don't remember what possessed me to start this show, let alone finish it, but boy did I have a terrible time with it. Actually there is one other thing I remember...they say the name of the show at the end of the first episode! "This really is a High-rise invasion" That's not the quote verbatim, but it's damn close. Also, this is just Alic…

I went into Tenkuu Shinpan with pretty high expectations—the premise is genuinely intriguing, and I’m always on the lookout for a solid dark anime to dive into. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to its potential. While the idea behind the story is unique, the execution feels rushed and underdeveloped. There's an overwhelming amount of fan service that often distracts from the narrative, making it hard to stay emotionally invested. While the character designs are visually appealing, the characters themselves are shallow and underwritten, making it difficult to care about their fates or motivations. Most of them feel one-dimensional, and the story never really slows down enough to let you connect with them. All in all, this show ended up feeling more like a rough sketch than a finished…

The first few episodes have a lot of plot holes which makes it frustrating to start watching, but it gets a bit better as it goes on. The story isn't all that great, the show is really carried by its cast of characters and the fun they have with different types of masks/villains. There's an absurd amount of panty shots, up-skirts, and 'naked' scenes that really detract from the show as a whole. Unfortunately the story doesn't get wrapped up in one season and it doesn't seem likely that it will ever get a second season, so you'll never see the ending if you don't read the manga. Overall I'd say its a decent show to throw on in the background, but it's nothing impressive. 5/10

High Rise Invasion is an action packed anime that throws you into a chaotic world of towering skyscrapers, masked killers, and nonstop danger. The premise is bold and unique, and the series wastes no time diving into its survival game chaos. Yuri Honjou is a standout protagonist, strong, determined, and easy to root for as she fights her way through a brutal and bizarre new reality. The action is intense, the pacing is sharp, and the visuals bring the high stakes world to life in a way that’s both stylish and gripping. While it’s wild and occasionally over the top, that’s part of the fun. If you enjoy high energy, edge of your seat anime with a dark twist and a fierce female lead, High Rise Invasion is an exhilarating watch that doesn’t disappoint.

The first 2-3 episodes were some of the most annoying episodes of any anime I've ever watched--SO many plot holes, and few character interactions that actually made sense. These problems get better with time, but not nearly enough to become enjoyable. My biggest problem with this anime is it feels like whoever made it wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible. Everything happens WAY too fast--characters bonding, plot/lore getting revealed, Yuri getting stronger, etc.. I had started comparing it to hazbin hotel in my head, which is in itself not a flattering comparison. The plot/premise itself was sort of interesting, as well as the character designs and I guess the world building. These elements did not make up for the speed-running of the plot/characters, which made the majority…

This anime left so much more to be desired in a good way. The Characters - Solid with great character development, you want the characters to escape and live to fight another day, and when things look grim you are on the edge of your seat waiting for the episodes climax. The masks (main antagonist) are also incredibly iconic whether you have seen the anime before or not which makes them a great reoccurring villain. You actually begin to feel for the characters, everyone has something to live for, be it escaping, reuniting with loved ones or murder. Everyone in the realm of High Rise Invasion is living in a world where they can get what they want. The Plot - For only being set on rooftops and inside buildings you dont feel like its getting boring. There is enough action and drama for you t…

High-Rise Invasion pissed me off, but I still finished it—mainly because it was only 12 episodes, and I didn’t have anything else to watch at the time. The plot itself was just okay—it wasn’t anything new or particularly unique, but it had potential to be a fun, chaotic action series. Unfortunately, the execution was pretty lackluster. The animation was choppy, which made some of the fights less enjoyable, though it wasn’t completely unwatchable. If the story had been stronger, I could’ve overlooked the animation issues, but sadly, that wasn’t the case. But the biggest problem? The constant, in-your-face fanservice. It was excessive to the point where it felt like the show cared more about sexualizing its female characters than actually telling a compelling story. Almost every time a fema…

"Tenkuu Shinpan" fails in practically every aspect that a good action-thriller anime should master. The plot seems to have been written by a teenager who believes he is subverting standards just by including religious concepts, excessive violence and a gratuitous parade of fanservice. The story lacks depth and, instead of creating an engaging plot, relies on random deaths of irrelevant characters, which weakens the dramatic impact. The characters are stereotypical and have shallow motivations, making it difficult to have any emotional connection with them. The protagonist, despite being the focus of the narrative, lacks convincing development, while the antagonists are generic caricatures of masked psychopaths. Not even the action scenes stand out, being uninspired and hampered by average…

For me, at first I really enjoyed watching this anime. It started so good and I wanted to end watching it as fast as possible to know what happened to main character brother. Also, some plots weren't good, since at some point I didn't know what's happening and what's going on. To add, some scenes were disgusting for me. For example why some characters were dressed so sexualized. At some point two of em were showing their underwear on the 70% of the show which was so confusing. I'm disappointed about the end of the show - it could end but people who created it didn't do that, why? the season 2 isn't coming soon, plus there's no a lot things can happen before the main plot to end.

The anime has a very different approach. While most survival stories are set in ruined cities, Tenkuu Shinpan is set at the top of the city, where the skyscrapers form a gigantic maze connected by rope bridges, a terrible place for people with acrophobia and gephyrophobia. The story stars Honjou Yuri, a high school girl who was teleported to a parallel city very similar to the one she used to live in; after regaining consciousness, she discovers that she is in a place where she must do everything to survive, including killing other people; Nise Mayuko is another girl who was also teleported to the city, joining Yuri in the goal of destroying the parallel world and finding her brother Honjou Rika, who was also teleported. The suspense, mystery, and psychological thriller make the story ve…

bro the amount of plot holes and unnecessary fan service is just.. animation is alr nothing out of the ordinary. characters have 0 personality - very bland, dialogues are forced and there is no real progression to the story., there are just things... happening. the emotion this piece is trying to evoke are simply not there cs you truly dont care about any of the characters. if it wasnt for masked tumblr sexy man and forced yuri between 2 mc noone would watch this im pretty sure. music was alr but again nothing groundbreaking. u can do better with ur time than watch this trust me lol

Its fine and a good watch until the fan service every few minutes you get under skirt shots ruining the scene and it gets annoying. Plot is interesting but nothing special. The animation quality and art style are really good, the mask concept is also very likeable and interesting. But again the random shots of underwear kinda ruin it. Still a good watch if you dont mind seeing panties for half the episode. The theme being horror and action isnt really achieved much.Characters are boring again just used for weird fan service, you only get 1 backstory thats not even that interesting. Not bad but wouldnt watch again.

"High-Rise Invasion" is an anime adapted from the manga "Sky Violation." The series tells the story of Yuri, a high school student who finds herself in a world of skyscrapers connected by suspended bridges, where she must escape from masked men who want to kill her or make her commit suicide. Her goal is to reach the tallest tower in the city, where she hopes to find her older brother. The anime presents itself as a thriller, horror, and splatter with elements of action and mystery, but it fails to convince for several reasons. First of all, I'll start with a small rant: the ending of the series spoils the identity of the sniper-mask, thus ruining the one and only mysterious character in the series. This is an example of how the anime lacks attention to direction and scriptwriting. Everyt…

The theme of the world that was presented was very interesting. The theme of people losing their personality and consciousness after putting on a mask and being forced to follow orders was something surprising. When we later learn about the candidates for god, we slowly begin to understand what this may be about. We meet various characters and their motives, the real world is brutal and people with different pasts come here. When it comes to the characters, the honestly masked sniper is a character I wanted to watch, the rest have their pros and cons. The main character, however, often changes her character, which makes her somewhat vague; compared to her companion, she was simply bland, and the fact that she gained strength towards the end makes her even more indifferent to the viewer. I…

Not recommended. The concept of the world in the anime is good, but because of the inconsistent characterization of the MC, it's very annoying to watch. There's no horror feeling at all, and the violent scenes are overly dramatized and uninteresting. The only thing I'm interested in is seeing Rika and Snape Mask meet; apart from that, I'm not interested in anything else. I thought they would meet in the end. The plot armor is very strong, to the point where the main character can suddenly gain new powers. There are too many ecchi scenes, even though the genre doesn't include ecchi; I had to skip them while watching. The plot also feels very rushed. It might be better to read the manga instead of watching the anime.

It's not that the writing is bad. The characters aren't under-developed. The plot isn't bad. The plot is actually really interesting and I don't understand why it was executed like this. It's the studio that adapted it. Zero-G was not the studio to pick for this adaption. The show should've been a horror but every single event that was supposed to suspenseful was instead made goofy. They make early deaths that are supposed to give the plot weight comedic and easy to shrug off. Add to that all the ecchi that's supposed to lighten the mood and its just a goofy ass show. I was highly excited when I heard this was coming out and was completely disappointed by what I watched. Read the manga.

its not the best its not the worst, i love hentai and ecchi but holy when you put ecchi in your content atleast play into it, the pantie shots and boobas felt so useless TwT there was no payoff besides "hehe panties" it wasnt for laughs cared for the fact that it has half naked women, it made the ecchi not that fun to watch which is saying somthing for a person like me who loves ecchi. it was tasteless. besides that its .... idea is cool but the exaction is wasnt the best idk what its missing for it to better so i just put it at a 5, i wouldnt recommend it but its not bad tho.
