I wanted to like this show, but the main character is annoying at his best. The show constantly tells us what he did instead of showing it; his inner monologue is the only way we know some of the schemes are happening, so it's a boring show. If you want an interesting political thriller with scheming, watch Son of the Century; I shouldn't like Mussolini more than the main character. Most of the characters are one-note or just eye candy, like most of the women; it feels like it got subsumed a bit by world-building that isn't even that interesting or engaging. The battle scenes felt rushed, and the strategies felt very basic. I was going in expecting a mid-level political thriller/feudal politics, but I was severely disappointed

'Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu' is one of those shows where, if I sit down and pick it apart there are lots of problems, but the reality is I still kind of enjoyed myself watching it. It never blew me away, yet it also never made me want to drop it, which counts for something.
The basic setup, a “genius” prince stuck with a kingdom in debt who secretly wants to sell it off and retire, is simple but quite fun. It is not trying to reinvent fantasy politics so much as give you a slightly cheeky, low stress spin on it, and for me that made it a pretty easy watch. Wein gliding from crisis to crisis while complaining about having to work, with Ninym quietly keeping him on track, is a dynamic that carries a lot of episodes on its own. Even when the supposed brilliant plans boil down to…

"cool dynamics"
The premise is intresting and engaging from start to end despite of having many flaws .I am dividing review in 2 half for better explanation and drawbacks.
1st half
The things which I liked are strong character dynamics , intriguing politics , adventurous tone and war strategies. It's one of rare war fantasies that don't run on cliches . The explanation of military maneuvering like placement of army , budget to move soldiers, post war effects etc is pretty dope and done in a intriguing way . I liked overall personality of mc and his relationship with other characters in both positive and negative manner .
2nd half
This show has some serious flaws like no proper explanation of continent demographics, cultural themes and some major historical events specially related to…

You ever watch a show that thinks it’s 10 steps ahead of you, but in reality, it’s just running in circles? Yeah, that’s The Genius Prince’s Guide. The premise sounds great a “genius” prince trying to offload his broke kingdom and retire rich but somewhere between episode one and twelve, the story forgets to actually do anything interesting.
Every episode is just Wein talking big, everyone around him nodding like he’s a god, and somehow everything magically working out. the plot so bad.....There’s zero tension, zero challenge, zero sense that he could ever lose. It’s like watching someone play a game on easy mode while insisting it’s hardcore strategy.
The political “drama” mostly boils down to fancy words and predictable outcomes. It’s all bark, no bite. You can practically skip entire…

If you happen to be a Warhammer 40K fan and are familiar with the Ciaphas Cain books, this show is pretty similar in nature. The prince just wants to sell his country and live a life of luxury elsewhere, but has to make it appear as if he's not just a selfish jerk and is a high-minded leader who deeply cares about his country. A dichotomy through which hijinks ensue. The problem comes in that the show quickly loses focus and goes from the prince succeeding despite his best efforts to fail, to him being dragged into the internal politics of various other nations and there's no real resolution at the end. That's not to say that, taken individually, the episodes aren't enjoyable, but I think they definitely would have been better served as a whole if the overarching story had stuck with the o…

I have much to say about this anime. As I usually don't bury the lede, my conclusion is that it is an utterly unique anime with many good things to say for it, but a few things that prevent it from being a truly great anime.
Let's start with this: this is a very unique genre, one I haven't seen before. While it could easily be mistaken at first glance for any of isekai, fantasy, gaming, or any such genre, it isn't. It is a straight up story of medieval warfare and politics, played for comedy. There is no OP isekai'd character, there are no other races, there are no quests, there is no magic (with one rather ambiguous exception, see below). This is a straight up story of a prince who reluctantly takes the throne from his ailing father, wants to simply pump up the kingdom in order to sell i…

The story of a reluctant genius prince who wants nothing to do with the throne or politics.
Unfortunately he's so good at it that no matter how hard he tries he just cant fail.
He makes rash decisions and yet is still able to plan 3 steps ahead.
Alot of the prince's successes feel more like dumb luck and convenience to me. But this is a comedy so although some of it may come off as BS its still entertaining to see the plans all fall into place.
Trying to follow which country is which and what alliance is what gets a bit confusing. This is either due to poor explanation or because i just wasn't paying attention.
Either way its a fun watch.

This is one of those anime where when I first read the name and saw the key art for the show, I thought that it would be best to avoid it as it looked nothing new to me. Last night I was rather bored and wanted something to watch and decided to just at least give it the three-episode rule and to my surprise it has been an amazing watch.
The story is everything with this series. There is so much information getting thrown in your face that it always keeps you attentive to what’s going on. Sometimes I look away from the screen and I have no idea what is going on when I look back. It doesn’t help that from episode one you are simply thrown into the series, and you just learn about everything amongst everything else as the episodes pass by. As for everything that unfolds along the way, it is…

tl;dr: The hilarious story of a prince whose plans turn out surprisingly successful, though without much substance beyond that.
This anime is centered around Wein Salema Arbalest, crown prince of the nation of Natra, who upon his father falling ill comes to lead the nation. This anime chronicles the various problems that Natra is faced with and how Wein uses them as stepping stones to grow Natra. The world this anime takes place in is a fantasy world. However, there’s no magic, dragons, demons or anything like that. It’s going for something more grounded, and while the result certainly isn’t a realistic medieval society, it’s still a setting that’s pretty rare when it comes to anime. This results in things playing out very differently from other similarly premised anime like Realistic Her…

Premise sounds lame, because if being a genius is the only thing going for him and it is used as justification for all plot resolutions, as it is the case, then story become stale pretty fast for my taste. Still, this is much better than to see the use of "modern knowledge" which is the case in some trash isekais, when author own knowledge of subject is based on reading 5 minute wikipedia article on it. Anyway, amount of ass pulls and "smart" moves is pretty high here.
Poor premise aside, politics portrayed here are main plot line and good enough to capture attention. Second most used tool is banter between MC and his right hand. Which is, conveniently, a girl, but for some magical reason he shown to have zero physical interest in her. This is more unbelievable thing than him being a geni…

This show has a lot of trouble letting the main character fail, but it also never lets him succeed as a character.
The show has a decent premise, the ruler of a kingdom who isn't really the most enthusiastic about being said ruler, and would rather use the new position to enrich himself, possibly to the realm's detriment. I thought this was a pretty decent plot, fantasy is a very saturated genre and having a non-altruistic protagonist is usually a fresh breath of air.
Unfortunately, the show doesn't seem to care much for this plot, and focuses much more on the interpersonal politics between members of the various kingdoms' courts, picking up and dropping arcs with little actual change in the story. The characters are very simple and often only have very shallow motives which are either e…

A young prince and heir-apparent to the throne is viewed by all around him as being every bit as competent and reliable as is befitting of a kingdom's future king, but the prince has a secret that only his attendant knows: he wants absolutely nothing to do with the welfare of his kingdom, which is in the throes of poverty. Such is the premise of this show. The setting is a sort of medieval alternative-Europe, where there does not seem to be any magic to speak of and most problems are solved by quill, voice, or sword.
The writing is above average, but only marginally; many of the events that transpire throughout the show are not so far-fetched as to require you to suspend your disbelief for them happening, which is refreshing in a medium that prides itself in incredulity. The action is qui…

English: I see here an anime with an absurd potential, a relaxed and humorous scriptI honestly admit that I was a little scared by the opening of Universal, but I just believe that there will be a continuation
A season with the past in the gym would be a good idea (if it hasn't already)
You honestly can't deduce what he's going to do with the kingdom but it brings an extra taste to the anime
It deserves more than 7.5 but unfortunately the hole in the script can affect a lot, such as the forcing of some parts and the like
I'd definitely watch it again in the future. Anime 7/10 almost left something to be desired

This ‘The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt’ is fantastic in its story and characters. Even though its performance in art is anything but masterpiece, it is still a highly recommended anime.
The most significant advantage of this anime is that it provides Realistic political shows instead of the childish naive political claims which are often made in similar anime. Unlike other anime’s ‘Great Ideas’ or ‘Great Dreams’, like ‘that I will liberate all slaves’ or ‘that I will eliminate class barriers’, this anime’s political plots focus on small specific reachable political interests. Also, the character issues their political interests for realistic or in other word materialistic reasons, instead of vain justice or impulsive ideas.
Also, the romantic plots of the anime a…

The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation out of Debt Review (5.8)
At first I thought it was good but it was boring so I didn't really understand the story. The animation was simple but it was ok.I didn't like anything about the characters because they were boring and corny.Even though I was bored watching it,I lost my boredom when I heard the op song is beautiful.
STORY:3/10
I don't understand the story because every episode is so boring, I don't even know what's going on.
ANIMATION:5.5/10
The animation is ok,it's simple but it's not very detailed so the animation looks ugly. CHARACTERS:4.5/10
It's so boring that I don't remember the names of the characters, but they are well made, the only thing missing is a proper introduction and the jokes are corny and don't suit the characters.…

This was very promising in the beginning. I thought I’d finally see a well made trash mc with ill intentions and can make me laugh. Unfortunately, his plans changed and he started doing things more seriously. It got too political and relationships in the anime didn’t matter anymore. It was just war after war after war, no stopping. His ideas and execution is good but there is no break whatsoever and it just gets kinda old. People compared it to [How a realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom] and said it was better but I personally think that one has a good storyline and things fell into place. For this anime I continued pondering whether to quit or not because it was so tedious to watch.

Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu
After the first 3 humiliating and bad episodes, I thought I was going to be subjected to torture. Thank God the anime improved well enough from episode 4 on to be almost underwhelming. Not only does the plot consist entirely of clichés, but the constantly repetitive progression of events and the embarrassing performances and comedy moments of the characters is unbearable pain.
There is another anime with a relatively similar theme, which is however an isekai. "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom".
Unfortunately, I can hardly say which of the two has been worse. Both have massive weaknesses in pacing, buildup, character scope, and quality.
But for me, "Genius Prince" dominated very narrowly in the field of characters and at least had a few usef…

Finally, after countless fantasy shows I can say I found one which is worthy to be my favorite in this genre. I really did not expect this from a comedy like show, but here we are. I found something what I was utterly enjoying. There is everything what I can ask for. Good characters, interesting and witty dialoges, ulterior motives, a lot of laughing, sudden seriousness and so on. I have to point out though that this show is only for those who enjoy to listen others speaking about politics, mostly in formal language. Some of these conversation are really worthy to chew on a bit though, despite being a comedy.
Let's talk about why I love this show. The characters. Hell, they are good. I rarely say this, but all of them. Even the sidekicks. Every one of them has it's own personality. None o…

If you like Fire Emblem but are not a fan of the romance-sidestories in that one, this here might be for you.
As next entrance in the line of "I can't believe it's not Isekai"-type shows, Tensai Ouji is actually somewhat refreshing in its approach to tactical warfare and kingdom management. I was initially a little off-put by the protagonist claiming to want nothing to do with all this, whining about having to attend to his duties and basically planning to retire in luxury as soon as he can, but when he is forced to step up, he is actually fun to watch. At his core, he is a smart - if maybe not the genius type level he considers himself to be - yet somewhat lazy character who wants the easy way, and can actually show his stuff when forced to act. I'm not gonna say the little interludes of…
