Too much of a good thing.
The first season was amazing, and did something most anime, especially ones based on Light Novels, are unwilling to do, and has the main couple actually become a couple during the series and not just as a finale. Season 1 had a very satisfying ending after a great deal of decent buildup, and set the stage for the author to explore the relationship further with subsequent volumes/seasons.
And then he just didn't do that. Season 2 suffers from what a great many light novels, manga, and anime suffer from; the author only has one good idea, doesn't know what else to do once he's finished telling it, so he drags it on for as long as possible. In the case of Angel Next Door, the only story he knew how to tell was the buildup to the confession, which is par for the rom…

For this second season, the title really tought to be changed to "The Demon Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" instead of "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten."
I really enjoy watching this anime, even though many people say it's too brutal for season 2, but I think it's good for the story.
for the supporting character is also very good where the romance story is given as well, even if only for a short time.
Even so, the story remains engaging and heartwarming overall. I feel like I'm getting a sugar overdose every time if I watch this anime.
As for the rating I'm giving it remains the same as the previous season 10/10.

After watching this show, I realized why most animes don't get a season 2 of the couple. When animes end with a confession and the main couple getting together, it never really gets a season 2 of the couple going through life together and I never understood why. Now I do.
The main problem with this anime is that it feels like the same thing happens over and over again. The main couple is just learning how to trust each other but that's really it. Season 2 was just the same events repeating again and again. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely liked seeing the two being all lovey dovey together and getting into cute activities lol.
There was not really a plot or story in this anime, which would have been fine if it was a comedy. But for a romance anime to shine, there has to be some problem o…

This review is coming from someone who thought season 1 was good season 2 was so boring, it uses the main couple's romance to keep the viewer interested. The characters are uninteresting and forgettable, if anything you'd only remember characters because of how annoying they are. Can't go one episode without them turning characters chibi to make them look cute. The episodes are boring and the relationship never faces any struggles and is perfect. The relationship is very unrealistic and Mahiru just constantly takes advice from Chitose, instead of learning how to be an actual girlfriend. Characters never develop like in season 1, I'm ashamed of myself for letting myself watch this because of the cute couple.

This anime isn't as good as I expected. But I need to be brutally honest anyway. When the first season of of this anime dropped, it left audiences with a sense of cozy feeling. It executed the slow-burn, "will-they-won't-they" trope with a decent plot structure and enough charm to marks itself as a comforting romance staple. The expectation for Season 2 itself is indeed high, with our main couple officially dating. Unfortunately this sequel completely misses the mark, delivering a plot that replaces genuine progression with a depressingly loop of eventless monotony. It's kinda disappointing sequel that ultimately feels like a massive waste of time.
The main issue plaguing this season is at its plot structure. The narrative pacing is a total mess, characterized by a strangely repetitive cy…

What happened? Like seriously I remember really enjoying the first season. I even gave it a 9 maybe that was too high from me. I just remember really enjoying it but this season was the opposite.
The last five episodes I sort of forced myself to watch because I didn’t wanna drop it. It was borderline p**** at least every episode for five minutes was just the same thing them kissing and making innuendos one episode fine but three or four on the trot no thank you apart from that it was okay but for five episodes with the same thing it just wasn’t enjoyable for me, but I’m disappointed maybe I’ll read the first season too high or maybe I miss remember it because like I said earlier I really enjoyed the first season this one not so much
I think the reason I don’t like it is I believe the fi…

The Angel Next Door Season 2 is such a letdown compared to Season 1. I didn't think much of Season 1 and thought, "Yeah, maybe it gets better now that they're officially a couple." No.
First of all, nothing happens. There's no point in putting a spoiler warning for this anime because of how dull it is. All the interactions between the two main characters are just "I just want you to be mine," "What if another girl steals you from me?" and them teasing each other sexually. Here you go, I just summarized 90% of the season in two sentences. Moreover, Amane sounds creepy during all twelve episodes, saying lines like, "Stop, I won't be able to stop if you continue," or "Aren't you scared of what I'd do to you? You know I'm a man." Like, come on, this is so corny, and it happens almost EVERY EP…

STILL THE COMFIEST COUCH IN ANIME: The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2
Three years. That's how long we waited after Amane Fujimiya stopped being emotionally constipated long enough to confess, and Mahiru Shiina, the school's resident "Angel," top of every class, untouchable by every metric except this one dorky boy with an empty fridge, said yes.
Season 1 closed the loop. Season 2 under Project No.9 opens with the most radical premise this franchise has ever attempted: what if a couple just… stays together? No love triangle airdropped in at the eleventh hour. No tearful misunderstanding stretched across four episodes. Just two people who are already acting married learning to do it out loud and in public.
Reader, I was hooked. So let's talk about why and where the sugar got a…

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 is a cute sequel that tries to do its best within the limitations it sets for itself.
The "seishun" fantasy of youth as something pure and untouched by adulthood is clearly being preserved here, but the show seems afraid to let that innocence give way to anything more mature. In doing so, however, the show loses any real chance to progress the relationship beyond what they already had. By the end of season 1, emotional intimacy, and a fair amount of physical intimacy too, had already been established, so where can you really take the story within these self-imposed walls?
On the character front, Mahiru is written with more desire and emotional need this season, but the show rarely lets that become a real source of tension or growth. Instead,…

i cannot believe this anime is getting my first ever written review so here we go…
il start off by saying season one was really good, the plot and characters where quite enjoyable and the story had uniqueness to it where it does stand out from all the other romances however, season two just really makes this show incredibly hard to watch, the relationship between the main character and the girl is so corny its unbearable, half the time i was just cringing at some of the stuff they where saying, the story just had the most generic plot sometimes not even making sense, this second season(no hate to the author kinda) makes me think the author wrote a story about a relationship he might have never experienced with the most hard male esc thoughts he could come up with, just a complete fantasy…

this season is basically two situations repeated over and over
-1-
Mahiru - I’m worried another girl will steal you
Amane - never, i only have eyes for you.
Mahiru - *gets flustered*
-2-
Mahiru - I want to be closer to you
Amane - Me too but…I’m worried once I start I won’t be able to hold back Mahiru - *thinks thats fine*
Amane - we shall have ONE kiss as a treat
it’s sweet and cute the first 4 times and then it’s just bland and annoying. Their relationship somehow progresses a ton and not at all at the same time.
How far into a relationship would you say you have to get before, “can I hug you” no longer needs to be asked? Keep this in mind while watching and then laugh in shock like I did when you get the main couples answer.
Overall 78/100. lots of cute and good but the end is…

Doesn't matter other people didn't like second Season of this anime, i liked it, but not as much as season 1, it's okay that season one is great in every aspect, slow-paced scene nailed but second season is also a very good season.
Season one ended with kiss scene of MCs and we haven't seen Lovey-dovey relationship of Mahiru & Amane but we have season 2, thier relationship expand, they became someone very special for each other, Oh my good I can't write about Sweetness of thier relationship, especially mahiru's jealousy...
Direction was beautiful not great like season 1, animation was good, Opening theme is much better than season 1, With amazing voice of Masayuki Ooishi...

at first few eps, the anime showcased its cuteness and lovey dovey stuff. it was cute, wholesome, and full of fluff. but only for few eps, cause after 3-4 eps it was become repetitive and turned to be corny, cringey, and cheesy. and to make it worse, not clear plotlines at all, just them being lovey dovey, which getting boring and too much. i feel like they shouldn’t make the second season at all if there were no plot. if they want to give audience some cute, wholesome stuff of them being in love, i think it’s better if it was just an ova of 2-3 eps. making a whole new season just for them acting in love which falls to be corny is just painful to watch. “horimiya” and “you and i are polar opposites” also an anime about couple being in love but they’re much better because they offering plot…

Disappointment. Disappointment is the only thing this season brought me, and I’ve been waiting for it for several years. The first season wasn't my absolute favorite romance either, but it gave me a cozy feeling, and I genuinely enjoyed watching the main characters' relationship develop. Unfortunately, the second season failed to deliver that. Mahiru and Amane's relationship completely stalled. Time just stopped, and everything froze.
It feels like the author tries to throw in events, like Amane's past, but it literally takes up half an episode and doesn't carry any real weight. The season leans more into slice-of-life, but in the worst way possible. The entire time I had the impression that the author wanted to push their relationship forward, but making it too mature felt inappropriate…

anime is good, everyday is good thing here, untill you start getting anxious "theres nothing bad going to happen right?"
Romance is good, every day is good romance, until you starts thinking its way too cheesy for me to watch it every damn episode
anime is focus on them, everyday is focus on them, they are everywhere, until you start having thoughts "can we skip watching these couple next episodes? i've fed up with them, im tired of them that i just want to fast forward or sleep while anime is running in the background
then i notice this must what "ideal couple life" is for japanese real people OR you can even erased the japanese part to make it worlwide, ITS A DAMN PURE FICTION! which is normally supposed to be good since its anime but this done the opposite fo…

You know what I hate about hypocrisy? It's always a b*tch.
What do I mean by that? Might you ask?
You lot always said, "Just get together already", and this anime did that at the end of season one. What did you say now? It was boring. I actually don't like people who didn't appreciate a good relationship story like this. Like, come on, guys, this is what we want, why lie and say it was boring?

Grading it as low as I ultimately had to feels horrible, but I have to be fully honest with myself here. That was not good. Actually, it was dancing on the edge of average and dull, if I am being brutally honest. I loved the beginning, but I am not going to lie, it fell off incredibly hard, and almost nothing of note happens this season. The relationship between Mahiru and Amane has kind of plateaued and has not evolved nearly as much as I wish it had. The problem is not that the relationship is stable. Plenty of great romance anime have couples who get together early. The problem is that stability should not mean stagnation. It is really cute, do not get me wrong, but there comes a point where endless fluff and diabetes inducing romance need some kind of evolution. Some kind of next step.…

One of the most boring seasons of romance I've ever seen.
After the slow burn of the first season that warmed so many of our hearts, we’ve been blessedly granted a rare season 2. We now face the dynamic of our protagonists officially being a couple, which presents its own set of challenges.
Let me lay some groundwork here. There’s a lot of confusion as to what makes a good romance, both on and off screen. A good romance isn’t about butterflies in the stomach, or about blushing, kissing, holding hands, or cutesy behavior in general. Those are all PERKS of a good romance, but not the core essence of one, just like how sex is (or should be, rather) the RESULT of a good relationship, not the foundation for one. True romance is about progress, growth, and change. Going through life together,…

Watching this season was like stepping back into the darkest days of Wattpad and Tumblr.
Remember those Wattpad fanfics that were just blatant self-inserts where the protagonist is Superman and poops chocolates? Remember those Tumblr images with "profound" quotes posted to look edgy or gallant? Well, Otonari 2 is a strange fusion of those two eras of the internet.
The only good thing about this season is the first episode. Everything seemed like it was going to be great in that first episode. The animation quality seemed to be an improvement over the first season. There was a good use of chibis for smooth transitions and to deliver the occasional joke. All of this with a light tone that seemed like it would last the whole season. Then episode 2 comes along and they throw everything away…

Truly a masterpiece.
I always wanted to watch this anime. And when season 2 was coming i was able to watch. I Loved season 1 and as well as season 2. When learned if the slightly character change... Well long story short it was dumbfounded. In season 2 somethings were slightly change, some new things were tried. Well in first it was little new, i enjoyed it but in course of time I fell in love with these. It was the same story i fell in love, i was deeply invested.
Every episode was very sweet, even so it's same thing it never felt repeative. Sweetness was fine. Top notch story..
In every episode the couple looked beautiful, well I loved Mahirun ofc. She always looked beautiful, i could say there was no farme in the animation that i didn't liked or the quality wasn't good. It was fan…
