The Dangers in My Heart

The Dangers in My Heart

Introduction

Kyoutarou Ichikawa may look like a shy and reserved middle school student, but deep within his heart is a bloodthirsty killer. His ultimate desire is to see his classmate Anna Yamada's beautiful face writhing in pain before he ends her life. But this fantasy may never come to fruition, as Ichikawa starts to see an entirely different side to Yamada. Often seeking refuge in the library, Ichikawa frequently runs into Yamada. It is during these encounters that Ichikawa realizes his model classmate is actually an airhead who can never read the room. As they spend more time together, the boy cannot help but feel not only a sense of endearment toward the very girl he wishes to murder but also a desire to protect her at all costs. Is it possible that this sudden change in Ichikawa's perspective could lead to something more? [Written by MAL Rewrite]

(the "full" review is on season 2 go there although there might spoilers) Have you ever watched an anime that completely shattered your expectations? I remember watching this thinking "Eh, probably another awkward romance where the guy and girl have some random gimmick. Maybe she secretly speaks Russian, maybe she's cute but legally blind without her glasses, maybe she's tan and bullies him but it's actually just teasing, maybe they're fake dating for absolutely no reason or maybe worst becoming Inukai'-san dog" You know... the standard seasonal romance starter pack. This anime baited me into thinking it'd be another gimmicky rom-com, then quietly sat me down and said, "Actually... what if we just wrote two genuinely weird teenagers fall in love?" - KARTE 1 STORY: FIRST IMPRESSIONS CAN…

There are some stories that don’t try to change your life. They simply sit beside you for a little while. When I first tried watching The Dangers in My Heart, I dropped it after a couple of episodes. Ichikawa’s edgy thoughts weren’t for me, and I genuinely couldn’t understand why people praised it so highly. I’m really glad I kept watching, after the first 5 eps passed by, I started to get it. What makes this anime so special isn’t the romance itself. There are countless romance anime with confessions, hand holding and dramatic moments. What The Dangers in My Heart excels at is portraying something much more difficult: the gradual process of allowing another person into your life. Nothing feels rushed. Every chapter, every “Karte” is another tiny step forward. A glance lasts a little l…

In my opinion, this is very good and highly recommended to watch. There are several aspects that I think are important in deciding whether a romance anime is good. 1. A logical story, not just the author’s wish fulfillment. You might be confused about what I mean. Why is the male character so short? What would happen if NTR occurred? They’re underage, and the boy is still in a growth phase during middle school. The girl just happens to be tall, and the boy also has sharp assassination skills. The romance is set during middle school because that period is one of the key stages that determines our future, especially in academics. 2. This anime feels heartwarming. The early episodes might feel a bit boring, but as the story goes on, you’ll find yourself smiling at their fun and enjoyable in…

Yes, I like this anime but is it really just the anime? Lets analyze this show coming from an inexperienced reviewer The show starts out rough and it was a little bit difficult to watch but in a way I think everyone had this kind of phase. He is probably around 12-14 and it's normal for kids to be a bit different as we watch the show we see him becoming more open to others, I liked the jokes and the trope the show has a side couple which is also fun to watch. But most of the show was focused on the 2 main characters so that was a little bit disappointing. Overall there is nothing going wrong with the show i think it's very good and don't check my profile because it says 9/10 but it's probably adjusted by the time you read this. For me it's a watch but I think it's a little bit rough to…

The Dangers in My Heart First of all why this show has this high rating, that’s the real question?? Back then definition of romance anime was shows like (Clannad After Story.) From starting to end everything was perfect romance, emotions, story, characters, animation and most important a feeling of satisfaction. Even today you watch it you feel the same. Now they don’t make shows like this anymore. But today we have shows like Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu which are crossing all limits of cringness and nonsense with no logic. No matter from which angle you see this show, it makes no sense at all. Story We have two school kids as always but that’s not even the problem. The real problem is our MC and FMC. FMC is literally a brain dead character. Eating chips and giving empty wrapper to…

It started out really rough but so do alot of other anime. I don't wanna keep typing so I'll keep it short. This anime isn't the worst but nothing happens. It's just a really really slow romance anime with a loner kid who keeps talking about murders(has no correlation to the plot BTW LOL). That somehow ends up getting crushed on by the most beautiful model girl in the class. Yamada carries the show and the MC lowkey funny sometimes.. Sometimes. Good characters but the plot is a bunch of nothing and the story just feels like some creeps wet dream. I liked the characters thats why its a 5 but everything else is ehhhh... Watch if you like romance anime but keep your expectations low. Update after watching the last episode: This show ass. Its a 3 now

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu is a teenage romance that stands out for the sensitivity with which it treats the feelings, insecurities and emotional growth of its characters. The first season builds its narrative gradually, allowing the audience to closely follow the evolution of the protagonists in a natural and extremely human way. The development of the characters is one of the highlights of the show. The protagonist's transformation over the course of the season is well-crafted and convincing, showing how small interactions and everyday experiences can generate profound changes. The female protagonist is also extremely charismatic, with a striking presence that perfectly balances sweetness, gentleness and naturalness. The romance is handled very delicately, focusing on simple gesture…

Definitely a must watch for romcom fans. What BokuYaba has done exceptionally well is creating a level of wholesome intimacy between the main two characters that is beyond most of its peers. Obviously it helps that their interactions usually happens out of sight of the supporting cast, but I think there's more to it than that. The art style's beautiful details, with warmer color tones with higher contrast works to isolate them in their own sweet little universe. Yamada's tendency to get close to Ichikawa and provide some level of physical touch also helps, in the sense that she seems to inherently enjoy the physicality while interacting with others, rather than just doing it because its a "romantic" thing to do. And honestly Ichikawa doesn't even get too freaked out by it, at least when yo…

Cringe but wholesome. The character's development started slow, but it developed from genuine interest with each other. It's not as forced as other romcoms, it felt more authentic and vulnerable. The characters are interesting too. The protagonist overthinks a lot, but I think it's kinda funny (or cringy in a good way at the same time). There are cute and romance moments too. The visuals itself are nice to look at. The sounds and OSTs I don't really pay attention, but I think it's decent as well. If you're looking for a decent wholesome romance (with some cringe), I think this is for you. Personally, I would rate is as an 8/10. The only flaws so far are that the 1st season is mostly a buildup, but I believe it'll pay off hugely by the 2nd season.

This was an interesting slice of life romcom. It had surprisingly well-done animation, and it was fun to watch. The music was very well placed, and it added a lot to the emotional moments. There were a lot of jokes that did hit and a lot that didn't. Any time that he would make jokes about his boners or her boobs just fell flat instantly for me not only because they are middle schoolers they just weren't funny. The main character is actually surprisingly very aware of himself and how his actions may be perceived unlike many other MCs in this genre. It was a fun and relaxing watch to see the two of them fall in love slowly but surely. He somehow found a way into her heart with his small but genuine actions. The scene of the papico iced bottled candy in ep 3 or 4 was my favorite. It encaps…

Saw a ton of good reviews for this anime, but when I started I thought it would be 5/10 at the most. I was so wrong. I wanted to drop it for the first 3 episodes but then it just got so much better. The story is pretty much the usual romcom thing, but pacing, characters, animation and interaction are so well done. There is a thing I only really caught onto while I watched the 11th episode and that was the fact that our characters are junior highschoolers. Because you know, I was wondering why is everything so cringe. Thaaaat was the reason why the anime is so cringe, but also why it's so good. The cringeness makes it relatable. You can't tell me you weren't at least a bit cringe in junior high, especially if you're a guy. I mean, the MC is going through his first real feelings, first time…

PT/BR and/e ENGLISH Animation: 7/10 Romance: 9.5/10 Comedy: 8/10 Soundtrack: 7.5/10 Characters: 8.5/10 Story: 9/10 — simple, yet well executed. Well… what a wonderful anime! A light comedy, a gradual and well-built romance, incredibly charismatic and entertaining characters… everything comes together to create one of the best love stories I’ve ever seen. What makes it stand out isn’t forced developments or exaggerated drama, but rather the way each feeling is carefully crafted—subtle, natural, and truly enjoyable to watch unfold. Nothing happens out of nowhere; emotions grow step by step, becoming more intense until they overflow. Eventually, there’s no room for doubt: both characters know they love each other deeply, and even without confessing out loud, their feelings are so strong th…

Don't be dissuaded by the whole he-wants-to-murder-her premise. It's fairly minimal and it goes away quickly — don't miss out on an absolute gem because of something that mostly stays contained to the first two episodes. I really don't have the literary prowess to truly do this show much justice, so I'll keep it short instead. Spectacularly written romance-centred anime with remarkable levels of depth to it. Rather than just sprinkling little bits of affection or fan service and calling it a day, this show does something few others bother to do: delivers an intimate, believable, and frankly, brilliant romance without endlessly bloating its plot with unrelated fluff or mundane fanservice. The characters are developed intricately and elaborately, conflict is believable and handled with rema…

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu: A High-Fidelity, Awkward, and Brilliant Romance Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (translated as "The Dangers in My Heart") is a work that hooks you with a dark premise only to immerse you in one of the most sincere and heartwarming romances of recent years. The story centers on Kyotaro Ichikawa, a socially awkward middle school student with a monologue so sinister he fantasizes about murdering his classmates. His main target is Anna Yamada, the popular girl in his class. However, as he observes her, his fantasies vanish and he begins to discover a completely different reality about her, which sparks a quiet but immensely powerful connection. The greatest achievement of this anime is its authenticity and character development. Ichikawa's evolution is an incredib…

A story with the perfect balance between fiction and reality. A love letter to romance and a masterpiece of its genre. Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu is quite popular, but still not sufficiently recognized due to its subtlety and brilliance. Rather than being seen for its true concept and excellent writing, it is perceived as a “cute” and calm series. However, there is much more than meets the eye—its genius and insight do not lie in the message it tries to convey, but in the connection between its protagonists and what bonds them to each other. At first glance, it might seem like a generic story: a very attractive, model-like, and popular girl becomes involved with and falls in love with an asocial boy with psychopathic tendencies. What kind of pathetic otaku fetish is this? That’s usual…

The Dangers in My Heart presents itself as a textbook romantic comedy, yet what sets it apart is not its structure, but its precision in execution. It doesn’t strive to reinvent the genre instead, it perfects it. What unfolds is a story that delicately navigates the uncertain terrain of adolescent emotion, carried by a slow burn that feels less like hesitation and more like the fragrant bloom of spring’s first flower quiet, patient, and achingly beautiful. The protagonist begins in emotional disarray. Aloof, cynical, and admiring his love interest for reasons that border on misplaced fascination. But as the series matures, so too do its characters. They do not fall for each other’s facades, but rather for the individuals revealed in moments of quiet growth. Their affection is not born of…

Damn....Just.... Damn . That's the best start to this . Because that's how the show started as well. Romance anime have always been quite difficult to get right, especially since there's always a love triangle or a full blown harem in the recipe, and the more you add the harder it becomes to bring it to perfection . While i am fully subscribed to the harem ideal , this is purely vanilla as you'd call it,and vanilla done right . Usually romance anime start with the love interest/s already hooked up on the MC, and that's never worked in the favour of this genre. The right answer has to be a slowburn . Regardless if it's only 1 girl or a harem. Have them discover what they like so much about eachother troughout the show's runtime. It's healthy and it adds value to the story and it's character…

A nice cutesy anime that repeatedly makes you feel better than the protagonist at 'taking hints'. The story is predictable. Here are two characters who are seemingly the polar opposite of each other socially, but something will keep drawing them in. Yamada & Ichikawa are excellent characters and "Dangers in my Heart" does a great job with their interactions. That's where this romantic anime elevates itself. In fact, the anime does a great job bringing to life the interactions between all characters involved. The dialogues are superb and convey that winsome feeling of liking, longing and love in teenage years very well. The animation and music could've been better but the anime is more character and word heavy so it didn't matter much.

As one of anime’s more anticipated adaptations of 2023, The Dangers in My Heart had some big shoes to feel. With school rom-coms being a dime a dozen as they are for as long as they have been, it takes a lot to stand out. There are some such entries that rise above, setting a standard in some form or another, and this one does so in a unique way. That and more will be addressed in this review. Let's begin. Per the synopsis, our two MCs, Anna and Kyoutarou, dominate the screen time. First impressions are somewhat rough and it takes time for things to get going. In the beginning, Kyoutarou is neck-deep in his chuunibyou mindset. While his train of thought is somewhat disturbing, it still comes off as quite childish. It is jarring but that circumstance is what gives way to the strongest aspe…

First of all you gotta hang on until you make through the first episodes, then it becomes lovely. I really felt some emotions that I forgot while watching this. It's both cute and funny, cuz you know it's a middle schooler anime. My honest score wouldn't be 10, but everyone has their own favorites so this is mine. Maybe the writing isn't perfect but it's decent enough. Character dialogues will make you not see them. While the characters are going to figure out more and more about their feelings, it becomes better each minute. I loved the Yamada's personality and I also saw a little piece of myself inside Ichikawa. Overall I recommend to watch it.
