Don't get me wrong, Trinity Blood has absolutely got the sauce. The moody gothic aesthetics are exquisite, from the complex and soaring European architecture, to the striking fashion, and even the interstitials, which are themselves hauntingly beautiful. With such a potent art direction, it's no wonder why it's one of the landmark anime of the 2000s. Indeed, paired with the vampire theming and the quality of the dub, this should be right up my alley, almost custom made for me in particular. However, my big problem with Trinity Blood isn't its presentation as a work of art. My problem with Trinity Blood is simply that it is just so, so naive. Let me get into details, starting with the story, this anime's weakest aspect. The story starts out engaging, with an awesome world providing the perf…

Trinity Blood is such an underrated anime. The atmosphere, gothic setting, and overall story make it a really enjoyable experience, especially if you love dark fantasy with vampires, religious themes, and political conflict. Abel is a fantastic protagonist, and there's something really interesting about the contrast between his goofy personality and the terrifying power he holds.
The world-building is one of my favourite parts, and the mix of action, mystery, and emotional moments keeps things interesting throughout. The character designs and soundtrack also fit the tone perfectly, giving the anime a unique identity that makes it stand out.
Although it has its flaws, I honestly think Trinity Blood deserves more appreciation. It's the kind of anime that leaves you wanting to explore more o…

A drawn out episode in the crux of setting based on the apocalypse with an eerie somewhat theme of religion sprinkled by using the church as a plot device catalyst, it was one anime where our main character, Abel Nightroad was one who is unsuspecting. For those who are interested, there are artworks of him appearing suspecting, meaning he does not appear in his usual demeanor, actually appearing menacing and in a form which is demanding of attention. I.E., he appears superhuman. Considering that is an anime about a conflict between humans and vampires combined with governmental interference with a religious(maybe occult) organization pulling some of the strings, there is also a sensing of macabreness in every episode with such a setting and line up of plot devices.
As for what makes the a…

The practice of "taking inspiration" from other people's works is common in Japan, but this anime is a special case, because it is almost 100% distilled plagiarism. Literally all the key events, characters, the foundations of the universe and even the locations and the ending of the story are a (very poorly made) collage of Hellsing and Trigun. The only thing the author did was throw a shoujo wrapper on it with hope that the target audience is not familiar with the aforementioned "originals".
And it worked so well that it even gave it an anime adaptation, and not from someone little-known, but from the Gonzo studio, and they did their job. There were a minimum of action scenes and only some backgrounds were drawn in great detail/beautifully, but overall this is a good-quality made anime f…

Well, here’s my overall opinion on this anime. I watched Trinity Blood because I love gothic aesthetics and vampires, and honestly, it’s generally good and quite entertaining. I’d give it a seven because the anime was heavily cut down, and it really feels incomplete. Many organizations, different cultures, and even a lot of characters are introduced, but none of them are ever explored in depth. In fact, I can’t even remember most of their names because, as I said, there are so many, yet you never get familiar enough with them.
I think Abel is a very interesting character, but he isn’t explored much either. I don’t believe the original Trinity Blood work is bad, but it’s true that the anime doesn’t really do it justice, leaving several loose ends behind. Since I really enjoyed the setting…

Watching Trinity Blood feels a bit like stepping into an abandoned cathedral in the middle of a dark, mysterious city the building is stunning, full of awe-inspiring gothic details, but as you walk around you start to realize big chunks of it are missing, almost like the architect died before he could finish the plans.
The story itself isn’t exactly unique It mostly follows familiar lines you’d expect from this type of series, but what made it worthwhile for me was the way it tackled different issues in each episode It knows how to handle topics like coexistence, power, fear, and even shows that not all vampires are bloodthirsty monsters some actually long for peace That layer of thoughtfulness kept me hooked, even when I could pretty much predict how many of the plot points would unfold.…

Just finished the anime. It was entertaining enough… Not bad and not AMAZING…. I must say I’m a huge fan of the “Evil Twin” trope, where each twin is the protagonist and the other is the antagonist, such as Blood+ and Trigun. When I heard this one had it, I came running to watch it. But sadly we didn’t know enough about the conflict. Why are Abel and Cain fighting exactly? Did they use to get along better? We don’t know. Other than that, I love how the anime handles peace and character development. The red haired girl bothered me sometimes but she’s pretty tolerable most of the time. It didn’t have any annoying forced romance. The cast is amazing, especially the robot guy. I just wish we learned more about the twins… My bad I came here just for that. To be honest, this anime is Hellsing, B…

Overview:
"Trinity Blood" is a gothic horror anime with a twist. Not only does it contain one of the most drastically different take on vampires this side of "Blood+", but it forgoes the usual setting of the genre in favour of a post-apocalyptic distant future. The results are... mixed, to put it mildly. While the series does have some great visuals and fantastic sound design, it unfortunately falls a little short in the storytelling and world-building department, and ultimately never even comes close to making the most out of its huge potential.
Story & World (6.5/10):
900 years after a failed attempt to colonize Mars led to the creation of vampires and the near-annihilation of the human race, the Roman Catholic Church has evolved into a major military power determined to protect what r…

An anime that is over 17 years old at this point, and yet its' art looks like it could've been made yesterday.
Apart from the character design ofc which was more akin to the character design most anime had back then, and has evolved and changed over time, the rest of the art itself looks absolutely stunning, and would put many anime today to shame.
Back then the story would've gotten slack for being "yet another vampire story", since most of the big ones like vampire knight, helsing, etc all originated roundabout that time period.
Looking at the state of anime today however and the amount of isekai with endlessly repeated tropes, an anime like this would've been a breath of fresh air.
Also, in hindsight the amount of vampire story anime's that ended up being released back then aren't as mu…

I thought this was actually quite a magnificent anime, the non-stop action was what drew me in, but what I really like about it was the mystery behind each character, and not knowing what they are capable of, is the best part I think actually. But, as an atheist most of the religious stuff that has to do with this anime, actually made me laugh in some parts ha ha. But, through and through, I actually did think this anime was quite good, and what made me want to watch this in the first places is when I finished the anime "Hellsing". I wanted something similar to that, and this seemed to be a decent replacement for it I guess.

The first time I watched this ~10 years ago I rated it a 10. I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Upon a rewatch I score it a 4, though it could really possibly be a 3.
The thing is, I really like vampires. And a Cruznik is a pretty cool concept as well. The problem with the show is that the story is inconsistent with at least 90% of the episodes really being largely filler and pointless. Worse, it has no real ending, which isn't really explained. There are also other elements not really explained like the state of the world or the past. It's a clusterfuck, basically.
It's sort of like a really lame Van Hellsing if Alucard refused to actually kill, even if millions of people's lives were at stake. Except, where he doesn't even keep to that sometimes if they're vampires. Except late…

Okay, this anime gave me the impression of when you're like driving your car on a nice sunny day on a nice straight road then suddenly something came across your path and you go off road and it gets bumpy you dunno where you're going and then somehow manage to come back on the right track again. Yeah that kind of feeling.
The fact is, this anime was close to perfection, given the scenarios and the plot, the back story of some characters especially for father Abel is very strong and interesting, like wow, this character is BADASS! But... i don't really like how he turned out to be. So much for my expectations huh? I was hoping for another Van Hellsing or a Dante version kind of vibe. But oh well, it doesn't matter, i still like how he turned out to be, to be a priest and taken a vow not to…

Last week I talked about Gonzo with a look at Final Fantasy- Unlimited. This week we have another Gonzo anime with Trinity Blood. The series began as a series of light novels by the now deceased Yoshida Sunao. It was adapted into a manga that's still ongoing and into this anime which aired in 2005. Let's take a look at it and see how Gonzo did with this one.
Story:
In some indeterminate time in the future, humanity has changed. We're separated into two basic types. The ordinary humans of today, called Terrans and the vampiric Methuselah. There's a territorial; divide with a lot of western Europe being Terran controlled & eastern Europe being Methuselah with some neutral nations acting as a buffer. Unfortunately, the uneasy peace is being threatened by the Rosenkreuz Order. It's up to Fat…

I definitely understand the mixed receivings of “Trinity Blood”. It has a lot of potential, but many times come out as very confusing and incoherent. It also has been accused of copying other work such as Hellsing, something which I must disagree with. Yes, Trinity Blood for shore contains a lot of the same elements as Hellsing, for example a powerful organization (the Vatican) fighting methuselah (vampires), the guns, and having their own trump card in the form of a more powerful being (a krusnik) that drinks the blood of other vampires. Which in my opinion is concepts that gladly can be used again and again, due to that form of plot are exciting to me. And the execution of Trinity Blood´s story and the overall feeling is nothing Hellsing, both shows have their own specific touch to it. W…

Trinity Blood is at this moment of writing eleven years old, and a lot has changed in the world since the days this anime aired. In fact, this anime aired a year after Fullmetal Alchemist and Ghost in the Shell aried on Adult Swim and in its own year saw series like Speed Grapher, Blood+, Shakugan no Shana, and Rozen Maiden to name a few series of the time. Watching Trinity Blood was truly like viewing a time machine, for I found myself constantly admiring little tropes in the writing and how characters acted or expressed themselves that modern anime either doesn't do or just do like anime did some ten years ago. That is not to say that Trinity Blood is superior to modern anime by any means, but even still, there are things to take note of and enjoy of a series from this time.

Compared to the actual manga, the show takes a slight U-turn. Some of the characters backstories are changed and the scenes are inaccurate. Abel is still a penny-pinching, secret weapon priest, but his transformation and reasoning for fighting the Vampires are varied compared to the manga. Esther's background and meeting of Abel and the official church is different. Some of the characters in the show didn't exist in the manga. I have no ill will against Anime List but I hope this review helps in some way. The show is very misleading and makes me wonder what the team was thinking when making the show. I might have to watch and re-read the anime before I can continue adding information.

I can summarize this entire series into one sentence. Abel told himself not to kill, therefore, sacrificed thousands of innocent lives to spare two or more evil men. So many characters died because he refused to kill like he had "allegedly" what seems like thousands of times before.
This was a cliched series, and was let down by it's stagnant character portrayal. I'm not very harsh with most animes, but this one is GROSSLY overrated. Luckily I watched this at work while occupying myself with other things, and I'm glad I did not focus my sole attention on this underwhelming story. Full of weak characters with little logic and terrible voice acting (the dub at least).

I am going to state this as simply as possible. When I review anime, a 7 is a 70% which means the anime was average but nothing special. I noticed most people would say that was worth a 5, or a 50%, but that is an F. If an anime didn't have any obvious flaws other than being nothing special, then I don't think it failed. So please read my reviews with this in mind. This is why most of my ratings seem on the high end. If I enjoyed it enough to finish it, it should be getting a C, not any lower.
Trinity blood is a very solid anime with good characters and an interesting story. I was tempted to rate the anime higher, but in the end I would say that Trinity Blood is good, but not too much more than that.

This anime was almost totally awesome. Almost.... It was a great storyline about vampires and humans living in a post-apocalyptic earth in the distant future. What?! That is awesome! The main character Abel was a bad-ass with a dark past of bad behavior (apparently) and a quirky split personalilty who wouldn't kill humans... who was kind of basically Vash from Trigun. Yah, he isn't a human.
Almost totally awesome! But the ending and I had a bad break up, I mean basically there wasn't an ending at all, only a few disatissfying explanations.... This wasn't as bad as some anime, but as a warning for people that might want a real ending, this anime was the final straw for me and I was forced to come up with a fifth scoring element, it's called writers please make a plot with an ending, oh, I…

Synopsis:
The background is in the distant future, a post-apocalyptic world after the destruction brought about by Armageddon. The war between humans (Terran) and vampires (Methuselah) continues, as a struggle between two factions: the Vatican and the New Human Empire.
Yet, amidst the bloodshed and violence, many desire a peaceful co-existence between the two species. However, standing between them and this goal is the Rosenkreuz Orden, a group of vampire extremists who manipulate the two sides and pit them against each other. To combat them, the Vatican special operations group "AX," led by Cardinal Caterina, must use everything they have - even a vampire who preys on the blood of other vampires.
My opinion:
Well to be honest I really loved this anime. After see Hellsing I really got…
