This was game adaptation for who not know yet , if you like 80% drama and 20% action u can go on
for me who played the games it already summary most the story , since ingame story like reading novel without voice not like other games. yeah not perfect and no other game adaptation was perfect tho , good storytelling for who not play the game even just in 8-10 episode , and for me not like reading novel yeah it tell most important part , so if someone new interest about story they can play the game or someone already played this game from old time, was good recap
The animation Good
The sound Good
The story Good emotional
Mostly they focus on storytelling and drama, so if u look for action almost just 10-20% in anime, maybe because the game also tower defense lol , so if u shonen and actio…

A really weird experience honestly...
Just like the game. On one hand its a decent show, and a great, high budget adaptation, all things considered.
On the other hand, the core story is so bad that it hardly matters.
This is regarding all three seasons that are up so far by the way. The story in all three can be summed up very easily - anger causes war, and war is bad and won't end as long as there is anger. Wow, amazing enlightenment there, haven't heard that anywhere before! (sarcasm)
That's the main problem with the show, and the game, it doesn't really go anywhere. You're introduced to a setting, one that's not too original but does have its potential... And then it doesn't go anywhere.
Needless to say that's very disappointing, given any story is, well, about some kind of point an…

A very visual pleasing anime. The animation quality and cinematic feeling is very pleasing to the eye. But looks can only get you so far. Its the content that really matters and thats where this falls very flat.
First of im not familiar with the game. So i feel i might not be the target audience herd so i dont want to be to hard on it why i give it a 6/10 despite being fairly bored by the show.
To me it seems you get thrown into the whole thing without much knowledge and they never go very deep explaining things about the world. The factions. Characters. Its just thrown straight at you. Hard to get invested in it all. Its only 8 episoded long so maybe its something that will come with time but i dont think the show doed a good job getting you interested enough to continue. Right after…

For a RPG adaptation, I usually do not expect much. This is a pretty decent story with good animation and a plot line that is understandable. This is not comparable to good anime like FMA or anything, but it is at the top of my list if I am only judging RPG adaptations.
The story itself is not unique. There's nothing new to the table on what's been done. The thing that makes it stand out is how well it is executed. The plotline has me invested in the characters. The style draws me in, too. Most RPG adaptations I have seen in the past have this off-putting feeling about the animation. This one has clean animation with a dark vibe to it. None of the characters or enemies feel out of place. The characters are also well integrated into the painted backgrounds.

A Missed Opportunity Yet Worth Watching
With the background of a popular mobile game, the hype and anticipation of a series that would depict and expand upon the world of Terra was high. However, the anime struggles to tell the game’s narrative and lore.
The transition from game to anime often presents an opportunity to retouch the story for dramatic effect. However, the anime remains content with a straightforward translation, neither significantly improving upon the narrative nor offering new insights. It skips the chance to integrate various storylines parallel to the main one, which would have made for a more nuanced and engaging plot. While it pays homage to the game, they could have taken a bolder step to captivate the viewer.

This anime is a great combination of action, fantasy, and sci-fi genres. It has a lot of exciting and action-packed scenes that will keep you on the edge of your seat, but also some emotional and dramatic moments that will tug at your heartstrings. The characters are all charismatic and unique, each with their own personality and backstory. The animation is colorful and smooth, and the voice acting is superb. The opening and ending songs are catchy and fit the mood of the show.
I recommend this anime to anyone who likes isekai, tower defense, slice-of-life, and sci-fi genres. It is a fun and entertaining anime that will make you feel good and amazed by the power of Arts. If you are looking for a light-hearted and thrilling anime with a lot of humor and magic, you should definitely watch A…

It's good. Trust me, I'm a doctor. Or so I'm told.
The story is supposed to be seen from the perspective of a genius doctor who has lost all memory of his life's work, extensive experience and closest friends. How? Why? No time for that. Follow the rabbit if you want to live.
The Arknights world is heavy in lore, and the experience is supposed to be confusion taking it all in. It's futuristic, magical, dystopian, deadly and uncomfortably real. And like the real world, it's full of characters trying to make the best of this world. Some with idealism, some for a paycheck, some for medical care, some just trying to find a place that feels like home.
Arknights the anime is based on Arknights the mobile game. The game follows the leadership of Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company slash p…

This is a boring anime, yes, BUT as someone who has been addicted to Arknights for the last 6 months it felt very cool to watch an anime adaptation. I've never been part of the source material for a video game anime before. I think. Anyways yeah if you really like playing Arknights I would recommend this, otherwise you can skip it. I hope new episodes are a little less serious and show us more of operations at Rhodes Island and the characters interacting in normal ways, I think that would be nice. The characters are here and it's not like they have no personality, but they could use a little more. The art style is a little depressing but in a cool way. The story in the game is kind of boring to me and I hoped the anime would be more engaging but it really wasn't, at least so far.

As the viewpoint of people who played Arknights for over three years, it might be different from others.
STORY:
To normal people, who never played the game before, it is quite bland. Because as the title, "Prelude to Dawn" simply the introduction of the series. So long story short, as a adaption, Yostar did a decent job. It's is predictable, just good enough to hold you for a few first ep.
But to Arknights player, well... It just acceptable so 6/10.
ART:
The animation is smooth enough, it describes the dark vibes of whole Terra, meanwhile backgrounds are quite unique. But it's still, mediocre. The side-cast are just bunch of solders with very little animation. On the other hand, most of the main character are well-portrayed. But again, it falls short for imagining the "Doctor" if you are f…

tl;dr rating if you play arknights: 8 or 9 /10. rating if you don't play arknights: 5/10 at best
Surely this show's ratings are inflated by the fans of the game. I mean let's be honest. I play the game and while yes, the game has great story and yes, the game has great voice lines, the anime was without a doubt very slow paced and at times boring. It is practically word-for-word from the source material though so points for staying true there.
Like I mentioned above, if you don't play the game you will fall asleep watching this. The gravity of the scenes, the explanation for the world of Terra, the way the characters interact with each other; all of it would not make sense to a non-fan and the anime does little to try to explain any of it to people who are unfamiliar with the source mate…

Very technically well-done little show that has some interesting themes and ideas, but ultimately has mixed results when it comes to actually executing them. As I said, the animation and music are both great, really bringing the game's ambience and tone to life in a satisfying way. The characters are also pretty fun, although the only ones that actually get anything interesting to do are Amiya and Misha.
I was fascinated in particular by the execution of the Doctor. If you are unaware, the Doctor is the player character in the game, a faceless, voiceless figure with a hazy past that mostly just exists as a self-insert. I was intrigued at first by the adaptation choosing to retain a lot of this mystery; the character remains faceless, genderless, and amnesiac. I think it would be a very u…

Half Life 2 with waifus.
There is nothing to hate about this show, which is good enough already by current standards.
Lots of waifu material girls. Amiya is cute and likable. Exusial is also not too bad. Others can swim someone else's boat more. But they all are chill. The only downside is that they are not as creatively dressed as Dolls Frontline waifus, but these bulky jackets makes them practical enough. I cannot say I dislike their attires, I like them but they could have been better.
As I mentioned before world in which it is set has Half Life 2 vibe to it. It is not the same world and plot is nothing alike, but it looks and feels much the same. Near empty ruined towns, peppered with futuristic installations and several high tech groups fighting using ski-fi tech and flashy beam-li…

Honestly solid animation, world building and characters, but it suffers from same thing a lot of anime based on VNs and games do - endless, ceaseless infodumps of the game story right onto the viewers lap in massive, massive chunks.
Frankly, I don't care about the story from the game. It can not exist for all I care, but the anime exists to sell you the game (despite it being free) rather than animate it, so endless exposition is a must. I'd much rather just have the anime take an original path with a fresh story that doesn't require infodumps and give me more of the world building and characters, I don't care about the gacha attached to it so please stop trying to sell it to me.
Would be a low 9 or high 8 but unfortunately the CEASELESS infodumps drag it so much down I give it a 7 and i…

Arknights remains to be one of my favorite Gacha games, and I remain a fervent believer that the anime adaptation will come to the point where its highlights shine and become recognized for the praise it's gotten for its story and development. The anime is a nice fanservice show, which I mean with positive affection. However, I don't think this will serve well for people with zero context about what Arknights is, which can be a dealbreaker for a lot of people. Some people don't want to play a Gacha game to see what the hype is about. I bet a lot of the information will only be understandable for those who have played the game, else it would be harder to catch without much pausing and musing.
Arknights has great potential, and it's very clear that Yostar is passionate about their product.…

-- Who should watch this? --
People who really like Arknights will probably really enjoy this. If you really like ambient lighting/photography, poorly written pseudo-war melodrama, AND cute gacha girl designs, this might be a perfect combination for you too. Otherwise, really not much else to be had here from a technical or especially a narrative perspective. Skip it.

Damn, this show was boring.
I'm not against gacha game adaptations on principle: I watched Takt and Fate/Babylonia, among others. They weren't amazing but they weren't terrible either. They had good animation, looked pretty, and even if the writing was terrible from an adaptation standpoint, I had some amount of enjoyment that kept me in every week. But Prelude to Dawn had none of these benefits, and piled on a…

At the first impression, it was "acceptable". By "acceptable", I mean it is watchable, not bad but it's lacking a lot to make it a good anime. It has a somewhat good story concept but the execution is filled with anime logic, which means illogical in real world.
Let's start with the first thing that we can see: Animation. For an anime released in 2022, it does not look like one. To be more specific, I watched this right after I finished watching Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Die Nuee These Sakubou. As a direct comparison in terms of animation only, I feel like I am going back 15 years in animation quality. When compared to K-ON! from 2009, which is a 13-year-old anime, Arknights still looks more outdated. But I do see they put depth-of-field in the animation to make it look better. Still not impr…

Ultimately enjoyable for fans of the game like myself, but those unfamiliar with the source material may be lost. Arknights' anime adaptation makes a valiant effort to explain its world, but I watched alongside a friend who hadn't played the game, and my friend seemed lost (but still enjoyed the show). If you like the game, you're likely to like the anime. If you haven't played it, it may still be worth a watch - the high production values do the series wonders. The animation, music, and voice acting are all incredibly strong, and Satsumi Matsuda's performance as Misha especially stands out. Given that we're several years into the global release of the game, this also served as a nice recap. It's extremely difficult to talk about the show in its own terms on the whole, however - as such, t…

I have really mixed feelings about this one as i am not really sure for who this anime is aimed for.
As fellow veteran Arknights player even for my optimistic scoring, the high mark mainly comes from being able to finally see my favourite characters on screen, talking, interacting and stuff...
But to be honest i almost feel disappointed. Probably partly it comes from obvious hype over Arknights finally getting so longed teased anime, knowing well what Hypergryph (company behind the game) is able to achive (especially in music industry). Buut no matter how much i was happy to see anything from Arknights and them, i kind of feel it was quite lower of what anyone would expect as although artstyle itself is very good, characters do look sometimes weirdly smooth and... a little off to anyone wh…

I think they should make a survey for the fanbase in-game about what they thought about the anime. I wish that they will improve the doctor's instruction in the battle. The doctor not showing too much that he has a talent in strategies which is kinda upset. They can surely make him talk more and give detailed and fast orders that have real impact meaning, not just " snipers attack the frontline and caster attack the backline" but something like "Snipers focus on some important points to spread out the enemies's formation, vanguard open ways for the defender and guard to further spread the enemies out and handle every single one of them. While casters focus on the backline try to cover the arrows or arts from their casters or make the ground harder to see through because of sand and the win…

WAR CRIME THE ANIME
You, child of pestilence who has awoken from a dark dream and come back to life from the depths of death.
You, beautiful child who knows nothing of love nor of being loved.
Thou art anathema. Thou art anathema!
Starting with a long POV sequence, we open our eyes to a cruel world. A civilization built with the energy produced from a crystal called Originium and people who are discriminated against due to the disease caused by the same crystal.
The people who believe in their own innocence become cruel in the face of the guilt of others. A good adaptation of a game I've never played.
