Its really perfect.. if u r fan of action scenes and adrenaline in general u r bound to love this movie. It takes everything i dislike about clover leaf and overcomes it in a brilliant way. The animation and the dragged out scenes are converted into a condensed, brilliantly animated film.
The action scenes arent pointless level ups and screaming.. they actually have startegy and synergy by the whole of the group. An aspect most shonen anime lack. Each character plays a role and the bouts do revolve around the fact that each cog is important for seamless functionality of a machine. The dazzling spells unique to each individual of the show and to the anime really make it interesting.
The soundscape, the vibrant colors and the voice acting are all on point.
It takes along every viewer rega…

Terrible. High scores seem driven more by nostalgia and the long wait than by the movie’s actual quality. Being able to see a beloved anime again after two years does not excuse how poorly this adaptation turned out. The film fails to capture what made the original work engaging, resulting in a shallow and disappointing experience. Even viewers familiar with the anime and manga may find it difficult to stay invested, as the pacing and execution quickly fall apart.
The animation is acceptable, but nothing memorable.
The story, however, is a clear step backward compared to the original, lacking impact and coherence. Overall, this movie is hard to recommend.

The art is amazing to be honest
The story is a great Black Clover story, if you liked the anime you'll like this movie.
It's not life-changing by any means, but it was a really good anime movie with great art direction and fun moments. Asta is more buff than he has been previously it seems, might be because of the art direction. The crew is showing of their powers and abilities more than the anime due to the action scenes. We see previous legendary characters popping up all over, it's just fun. Fun story to be honest. I liked it

This movie is good has simple like that, people for the most when i comes on shonen anime movies dont care and give enought credit to them for reasons like they are not canon completly or desviate for the most part of the main story series (coming with that there is nothing wrong with an independent movie that takes his liberties even when is not fully truthful to the original material when its done well) which wasnt the case on this instance with just the first couple of minutes giving us more than enough information to know where in time ubicates the events that take place on this movie which is highly appreciate it at least speaking by myselft.
The apperance of previous Wizard Kings is really good more taking in account that on the main series besides some mentions here and there wasn…

The villains in this movie all have a point. They were all victims of the ruling class (royalty, nobility) who killed innocent people close to them, like family, friends, and partners. They all tried to change, reform, and revolutionize the kingdom to eliminate class differences, prejudices, poverty, and discrimination, and they all fell victim to betrayal, punishment, imprisonment, and condemnation.
Just like in the series, the heroes need motivation to fight against these villains and maintain the power structures. This is where Black Clover fails miserably. All the antagonists are portrayed as uncontrolled monsters who want to destroy everything, as terrorists, without any judgment of what is right or wrong, but only an absolute desire for revenge at any cost.
It's a reactionary fanta…

1st of all it's not canon. The story doesn't convey any message or anything nor does it have a theme. It just feels like a very long side story mixed with what if.
Secondly the villains don't have any good points. their motive might be good but even they have to know that what they're doing is just pure bulls**t.
And lastly the captains are completely useless like what the actual f**k. And the new recruits can do all of this stuff but the captains are just there for supporting them instead of then being the head of the attack. It doesn't make any sense why would the captains will go fight the small minion while the new recruits go and fight the big boss. It's just still lot convenience that's all.
Overall this is just a OVA for those who wanted to watch more black Clover. The only good si…

O boy, this was one hot mess. I loved the TV series but just like a lot of other anime movies, I was considering stopping midway. Let me explain.
Let's start with the positive things. The animation was great! The creators seem to have put a lot of work into this movie and it's sure to say that it payed off. Of course it can't be compared to something like the Demon Slayer animation but it is great compared to the fights and the dialog scenes in the TV series. There is a lot less still animated scenes and alot more movement, special effects and contrast. This is the reason I rated this movie a 6 and not a 5.
The TV series didn't have great animation but it did have some good points that seemed to be missing in the movie. As a viewer, I couldn't care less about the random anta…

Once again, I have been watching a shonen movie and, once again, I have little to say about it because, once again, it's exactly what's on the tin. I could go on about how the story falls apart if you think about it, how its really weird that nobody in the main series mentioned this happening and how the Oblivion level scaling of enemies makes no sense, but what would be the point? You are here because you liked the original show and you want to see the characters again and that much it does. That being said, the pacing is once again a bit off and the first half could once again use some trimming. But even so, I enjoyed my time with it. It's a tried and tested formula for producing decent movies but never anything truly noteworthy.

The story and pacing are what ruined it for me. It's so generic I felt nothing while watching it. All that was happening was flashing colors and the most by the books story. I loved black clover and was excited about this movie, but it was so bad I could barely watch it. The story is just a plot you've seen a million times. There's nothing special about this. This movie is worthless and never justifies its existence. All it does is flashy fight scenes with no reason for them. Very predictable shonen plot. Nothing about this movie is good. A horrible experience. For me I do not recommend, but anyone is open to like this movie.

A typical filler movie of a big shounen franchise.
If you want two hours filled by battles and great animation, you won't be disappointed. However, for those looking for compelling villains with clear motives, the result may not be the same.
The established characters, as always, are enjoyable to see, with a good part of the cast present here. Learning a bit more about the past of the kingdom is engaging.
The new characters, i.e. the villains, are genuinely interesting at first glance: cool design, unique powers, different from one another, etc. But their past and motives are clearly underdeveloped. As a result, it may be hard to feel anything about them. Why do they loathe the world, so much that they want to destroy it? At best, the viewer gets one or two shots that don't bring much i…

For something that got so much hype around its release, it is surprisingly... boring.
Now, please don't attack me on my opinion/views (or do, whatever), this is a review that is pretty objective to me. I just think that the story and characters have so much more potential than it was given, but it eventually just becomes a regurgitation of every cliche and cheap characterization that the Black Clover anime has used on the regular. With way better animation than the anime, that is.
The introduction of the main antagonists of the story, the four wizard kings, made a deep impression when it was first promoted, so there was a high expectation of the lore and story of each of the wizard kings. Unfortunately, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King does not escape the shallow, surface-level c…

this was somehow worse than i expected. there was close to little plot and just a lot of battle scenes that were mediocre at best? Why was there such little explanation/backstory for the main villains of this movie? We still don't really know their motivations or what they were hoping to achieve by "destroying the world". It was so hard to care about what was going on when you don't even know WHY the villains are acting as they are.
The animation was fine, the soundtrack was honestly pretty good, but the storyline was truly so bad. There were also so many small plot points that made no sense. If the grand plan to "destroy the world" was just shoving the sword into the mana vein, why did close to nothing happen after Conrad did that? like there was just a lil earthquake and everyone kept…

It's like a lot of other anime movies, not canon, but has a high budget.
TLDR.: If you can go in with that in mind, with low expectations and can turn off your brain... Then you'll have a good time.
The animation looks amazing. Which is the biggest, and almost only, reason to watch this movie. (And why it got 6/10 from me and not lower)
However, it also, doesn't fit into the timeline at all, doesn't make much sense, and a lot is hand waved away for the sake of the plot to go the way it does.
There is pretty much no substance to the story and I don't think a single character got a decent moment that would be worth remembering or mentioning.

This Black Clover movie had great potential to be something much better. The idea of showcasing different wizard kings from different eras really sparked my interest. However, they didn't develop the characters that much. You can't connect with them or even develop genuine feelings about the characters. There comes a point in the movie where they simply stop caring about the other villains besides the main one. One of the scenes that shows this is Yuno's battle. Just when it was about to get interesting, they simply discard the villain
The main villain's ability, along with the fight scenes and that amazing animation, were the strong points of the movie. But that was it. The story is quite generic and follows the standard shonen formula. Around 15 minutes into the movie, you can already p…

So i will going to be Straight to the point This Movie Plot Is trash Its a waste of a time for those who like to watch filler movies. go ahead I was so angry Because i thought they will end the series with this movie and for those who watch anime for atleast 2+ years will know the end of the movie in the start 20 minutes. the animation and music is great but the plot is trash 1/10 i gave two because of the animation but even if it was filler movie it was trash and disappointing it wasn't original at all

Those who've watched the anime will have necessary context for the characters and story thus far. Those who're fans of the anime may or may not find this satisfying. As a fan, I enjoyed it.
So, yeah, it's not great that the movie can't exactly stand on its own without the context of the rest of the anime. Only glimpses of the core character backgrounds and motivations are provided. For the new characters, who are the antagonists, this is a significant weak point in the movie's story. It's unfortunate because these glimpses genuinely hold good reason for these characters and add relatability to them, but they're not given nearly enough time. What the movie devotes its time to is action and fights. That's probably the thing I'd make sure people considering watching this movie should know: t…

0/10: Conrad should've been Asta's dad.
All seriousness, this one's pretty great in ever aspect except the antagonists. Honestly, the idea of the previous kings coming back from the dead to try creating a better world they couldn't in life is interesting. Even if it's a little contrived, the sword is a decent McGuffin to facilitate it. However, concept and execution are two different things.
Of the kings, only Conrad and oddly Jester get any real characterization. Princia Funnybunny (...funnybunny?) and Edward are just kinda there. Princia is a bored battle addict and Edward is a serious and prideful noble. They both want a "world of equality", but their reasons aren't really explored beyond a flashback for Edward that shows someone died and Princia having no one to match her. The reason…

Let's cover the positive points first : great animation, great antagonist.... that's about it.
Now I'm not gonna cover the zero build up and the trash plot and how the protagonist has been mouth-fed the victory once again and the cringe moments, as some reviews have already done that...I'm gonna cover the big problem that has stained black clover to the point I have dropped the anime and just read the manga, which is the ideals of the protagonist(s) and how they were delivered..
Every main character has a depth that would make him look likeable and badass, and that depth can be in the form of ideals. And I fail to see what ideals was Asta based on while fighting the antagonist. Their dialogue while being nicely delivered by Conrad...how did Asta respond? "ARRRGH THIS IS WRONG" "I WILL N…

Animation: 8/10 ( much better than the anime, but as a movie, it could be better)
New characters: 7/10 (all are very interesting, especially Princia, Edward and Conrad. But due to having zero background developed, it left a frustration, like in the final moment of conrad, where we see an image, and we don't have the context of it, it was kind of empty)
Soundtrack: 8/10 ( when i hear in the background Break together - kankaku piero, I liked the music, but something was missing, it left me with a little disappointment. BUT in the end, she came, the best ost of the new BIG 3, Haruka Mirai embracing the final battle... 10/10)
Fighting scenes : 9/10 ( we have Haruka mirai Asta, Yuno team up with captains, Black bulls fighting together, and the best of all - Combo Spell Dimension Slash - Scorchi…

If you are a Black Clover lover and miss the anime, you will like this movie too. My personal opinion is that it was worth the wait and was quite nostalgic. Although I do have mixed feelings.
Without giving spoilers, it started out slower than expected but at the same time it was dast to the point. The excitement was built up and lasted the whole movie. The beloved characters were reintroduced throughout the movie which was a pleasure especially when the plot was really exciting towards the end.
However I feel like there were some shortcomings when suddenly the plot twisted. It was a bit confusing, I would have loved to see how those things happened but there's so much you can pack into ~2 hours and they weren't significant.
At some parts the animation was like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse…
