Sandpaper room. Send this MC to the sandpaper room right now.
I don't think there has ever been an MC in this genre with ZERO redeeming traits. He's the loser of losers of losers. It cannot be stressed how bad this MC is. He's the biggest pervert, he's beyond selfish, he's a coward, and he's an asshole to everybody. His personality is UNBEARABLE. And he stays like this for the WHOLE FUCKING SERIES. His story became a side plot because HE WAS SO SELFISH AND A BITCH THAT HE WAS BARELY ON SCREEN. But in the end finally decides to show up to remind us that he's the MC, whether we like it or not. And no, him being a cunt provides zero value to the story.
Pros:
The production quality; this show is animated by MAPPA. The story is pretty interesting, but it gets ruined by the MC. The characters…

Everything had SO MUCH potential , but as many said before me, the MC is SO unlikeable I really wished he had just died episode 1.
1. he has no personality or redeeming qualities - all he cares about is having sex, not his childhood friend who did nothing wrong and keeps trying to be with him even tho the MC was a shitty friend, not his mom who just tries her best to support him while he takes her for granted
2. Every time something happens he gets scared and runs away, just to come back if someone tells him girls will think he's cool
3. He's extremely stupid... like i get that he's a child but I've seen rats with more intelligence than him...
4. The only reason he's relevant is cuz he has that Honki ghost inside of him (which he randomly got) that gives him power, he doesn't deserve it no…

Bucchigiri!? starts out as an explosion of energy: vibrant colors, exaggerated style and an atmosphere that promises pure chaos combined with comedy and street fighting. At first glance, it seems like the kind of anime that doesn't want to be taken too seriously... but at the same time tries to deliver more than that.
The story follows a fairly classic structure, with rivalries between Gangs, alliances and conflicts, but it is supported by a very expressive visual style and well-made action scenes
The supporting characters are surprisingly solid and often more interesting than the protagonist. They have much more interesting and deep stories than the MC, they become a main reason to watch the series
Even so, the anime manages to remain entertaining thanks to its style and energy. It i…

I wanted to like this, but honestly Mahoro kinda makes it hard. She’s always taking advantage of Arajin liking her and treats him pretty badly, while she’s still totally hung up on her brother. And Arajin just keeps chasing after her even though she’s clearly not interested, which makes him come off kinda annoying and a little pathetic at times. It also sucks how he kind of ignores Matakara, who actually seems like a real friend, so that whole dynamic gets frustrating.
It’s not all bad though. The animation looks really nice, smooth, and colorful and the music is probably one of the best parts. The fights are fun to watch too when they happen, even if they feel a bit short sometimes. But yeah, Mahoro’s behavior and Arajin constantly simping for her kinda dragged the whole thing down for m…

The Good:
Great anime with solid animation, strong character designs, and some genuinely fun fight scenes. And… that’s pretty much it.
The Bad:
The main character might genuinely be one of the worst MCs ever written and might legitimately hold the world record for being one of the most unbearable protagonists in anime history. He’s painfully boring, spineless, cowardly, and unbearably annoying. Every time he opens his mouth, pure garbage comes out.
He has a one-sided crush on a girl who treats him like garbage and only uses him to make her biological brother jealous, (because yes, apparently she’s in love with her own sibling… gross).
Even after realizing this, he’s somehow happy just because a girl acknowledged his existence. Peak ultrasimp behavior.
He constantly runs from fights beca…

The most boring anime I have ever watched! Main character is just talking about losing his virginity, and is crazy for this girl even though she doesn't give a F about him. Then there's the girl who only cares about her brother, such a redflag, ignores the MC's efforts for her. And then there's her brother who obsessed with the MC😭🥀. Rest of the characters like Matakara's (MC's childhood bestfriend) friends, they don't feel important just useless💩. Then there is some man who goes to a club to get the same girl everytime. The story is not even mid, it's just trash, boring and utter garbage. I still watched all 12 episodes because I cannot judge a show without fully watching it and this was such a time waste. I also checked up IMDB ratings before watching the anime and they're so stupid! Ev…

Genuinely never felt so strongly about something to the point where i had to write a review but this anime is different. The art style and setting were honestly interesting but the story and characters were the big downfall (mostly the characters) and the main reason i’m writing this is because of the main character. He's the biggest simp in anime and would probably give up everything to be with a girl who is pretty obviously a bad person. And you would think that would change as the character grows. But you would be wrong, actually, he never changes accept maybe for the last episode. The side characters are mostly forgettable accept for the guy that used to be his friend which i genuinely liked but the mc took every opportunity to shit on for a reason i don’t really remember and one that…

The first, like... 3/4s of this anime kinda suck. The protagonist is incredibly boring, and much of the plot is trying to convince him to be less of an asshole to his childhood friend. However, the remainder of the anime is pretty nice, and probably at least an 8 or 9 out of 10 on its own. So, when the plot actually kicks in, it's pretty good. But I can't really give it any higher of a score due to most of it being... blech. As a whole, I think it would probably be worth the watch? The opening is pretty good.

I was actually liking the show but one thing ruined it for me, Anajin, the MC! He is so unbearable, just so incredibly irritating to an almost impressively degree. All this kid does is be a sulky emo jerk to the nicest character in the show. Like we get it, you are projecting your self loathing onto him but....for 12 episodes? He had no, absolutely no character development.
He is so desperate for a gf that he completely ignores clear as day signs that a girl doesn't like him and in all likelihood hates you because you are not her brother. He is so mind numbingly selfish and self centered. I have no idea why anyone thought having someone like that as the MC was a good idea, let alone to adapt that into an anime. All the other characters are why this is even getting a 5.They definitely car…

The character development is weak and terrible its just a horny boy thats using the fact he wants to lose his virginity to get stronger i thought it would get better towards the end but low and behold the "Lose my virginity" bit went on WAY to long.
The fighting is good, i wouldn't call it anything unique or mind blowing but its not terrible to bad the action gets overshadowed by lame comedy and uninteresting characters
Lastly The story is very predictable right from the start besides the bad comedy and mid tier action scenes it was pretty obvious what the end fight scene would be and why, all in all its just a generic comedy action anime with no real uniqueness besides the spiritual wishes and even that addition didn't help make it more interesting.. i wouldn't recommend personally but…

The author cocked hard on this one, to make the MOST annoying, dislikable, actual human garbage of a MC, but like in all of anime of annoying MCs.. Character development makes it better right? No.. Don't waste your time hoping for that to happen like i did.
The story is decent, even good maybe, art is good and all that but it doesn't matter with a MC like that. Touch a pile of shit and you'll get shit stains on your hand, that's this anime in a nutshell and the MC is the biggest, stinkiest pile of dog shit there is.

This anime promotes the worst possible values—betraying anyone you love just for sex and only thinking about that (no jk, the whole anime is about the MC talking about how he wants to lose his virginity). The main character doesn’t love anyone; he just wants to sleep with them or get something from others. He’s not your typical idealistic protagonist like you’d find in standard shonen series like One Piece or Naruto. It’s like they tried to copy the usual "kind-hearted protagonist" formula but completely failed. The writer or mangaka clearly lacks experience in character development. Everything seems to be written for convenience, with no concern for how the actions affect others.
What’s worse is that they don’t even frame him as a bad guy. They try to present him as a good person when he’…

After receiving a thousand recommendations from my friend, I finally completed this anime on 30–31 May 2025. Watching this anime requires only a single viewing session to experience its complete story.
The anime provides a fresh twist to fantasy storytelling which blends together action elements with adventurous journeys and humorous moments. This original anime production from MAPPA earned an award nomination from Crunchyroll.
Now let's discuss the story— The story's magic system in this anime replaces a conventional lamp-based genie with a bullet-based genie. The events in the opening episode follow this exact description which actually happens in the series debut.
The anime does not explain why the genie emerges from a bullet. The explanation for this phenomenon will become clear whe…

This took me a year to finish. Unfortunately, I think that says it all when it comes to my views on Bucchigiri?! I started this when it first came out, but got bored. I decided to finish it when I learned that it was nominated for best Original anime at the Crunchyroll awards.
I'm glad I got the chance to finish the show, but it was disappointing mess. This is very much a character driven story. The plot isn't really relevant, it's the characters that make you want to watch the show. The problem I have is that I don't really like anyone.
The three characters that really matter are Arajin, our MC, Senya, the Majinn possessing Arajin and Matakara, Arajin's childhood friend.
Everyone else is a one dimensional mess that's not worth mentioning. Out of the three mentioned above, and this is…

i really wanted to like this, i really did! so i pushed through it all in one night, but admittedly there is but one major flaw - Bucchigiri's Protagonist red named Arajin, or Ara-chan. Sad truth is that when your main Character is shit it makes or breakes the whole Thing. This Dilemma reminded me a lot of Black Clover's Asta and his goddamn annoying voice (literally worst cast for seiyuu in all history). Black Clover's saving grace was that there were enough episodes to eventually forget About Asta's annoying voice and see the beauty of the whole Thing.
In Bucchigiri we're not that blessed. Let me explain.
With Bucchigiri being an Original, there was no source material to work with, which is Always a hurdle for Anime productions. Utsumi Hiroko (best known for SK8 the Infinity, Banana Fi…

It's not the worst series I've watched, but after seeing it all I understood why this had such poor ratings. The main character is a dumb prick who only cares about losing his virginity (literally) and half of the show is pretty much dedicated to him trying to "win" the girl over, no plot no nothing. The rest of the characters are far more interesting than the actual main. Close to the ending things start to get so interesting that if we were to pretend the other chapters didn't exist and this was the actual beginning, this show would be so much better in comparison. The animation quality is great and so is the music, but that's not enough to boost my opinion of the series as a whole.

Overall I thought this anime was decently fun! I reeeeally started to hate the main guy though, he acts so annoying to anyone but Mahoro. And the characters except for Arajin and Mahoro were silly and fun to watch. I felt so bad for Matakara the whole time I was watching, he’s so sweet and everyone disregards him :(
The animation and background music are great and the character designs have good variety!
I watched it a few months ago and the opening and ending still play in my head occasionally, they are SO GOOD!
Overall I would say this anime is fine, not amazing but not bad. If you’re wondering if you should watch it or not, go for it! It’s only 12 episodes haha, so it won’t take up too much of your time.

You have to finish the show to understand!
Waiting until the final episode to clear up all the confusion is not a great way to get people to finish the show. Unless you get to episode 10, you are more or less completely confused where the show is going, so the main reason to watch the show is fighting and the characters. Unfortunately, the Main Character is at first easy to not like because he doesn't... do anything. He just lets the "friend" from his past live believing a misunderstanding even if it visibly frustrates him. He also does not adapt when the girl he likes clearly does not like him. Mahoro and the MC are characters that until the final few episodes seem like what would happen if the comic relief side characters got more screentime. There's a running bit with the schoolteache…

6.70 is crazy for such a good show. And it ain't even justified. Lemme explain
Bucchigiri is a great short fighting anime inspired by middle eastern culture, about regret, friendship and loneliness (as surprising as it may sound given the first episode).
(Resposting this review for the 156th time since the original was removed. So I had to censor myself in the name of "correctness")
Story : 7.25/10
Story is quite fine. Of course there are flaws I'm going to talk about, but it's overall a quite solid story.
The reason why people hated this show and rated it 6 or even 5 (which is horrendously low) is only because the MC is flawed. Yes you heard me right, there's quite a lot of people out here hating on the show just because the MC dares to be human and have flaws.
A MC being flawed, until t…
