[C] CONTROL - The Money and Soul of Possibility

[C] CONTROL - The Money and Soul of Possibility

Introduction

Money is power, and without it, life is meaningless. In a country whose economy is in shambles, second-year economics university student Kimimaro Yoga understands this fact all too well, as he is surrounded by the relatively luxurious lives of his peers and struggling to make ends meet. However, his world is turned on its head when a stranger in a top hat arrives one late night at his door. Going by the name Masakaki, the visitor petitions Yoga to come to the Eastern Financial District, a place where money flows in abundance if one offers their "future" as collateral. Although reluctant, greed triumphs reason and Yoga accepts the offer, thus taking on the mantle of an Entre. But unbeknownst to him, the land of wealth he has entered is an alternate realm built in the likeness of his own, where Entres are forced to participate in weekly duels called Deals, with their collateral at stake. Pitted against his countrymen and fate, Yoga must quickly adapt in this new world if he hopes to protect his fortune and future—and discover just how much money is truly worth. An anime that surpassed my expectations after initially dropping it. What seemed to be a run-of-the-mill show, equipped with an average protagonist and a premise that appeared to only exist for the sake of dramatic fight scenes, ended up touching on much more philosophical topics than I could have expected. C takes place in a world where in an alternate dimension, the financial district, people called Entre (short for entrepreneurs) fight alongside a partner called an Asset to gain Midas money. Gaining access to that dimension requires trading your future in exchange for Midas money; And losing all of your money means losing said future. In essence, exchanging freedom for wealth. To be very clear, even if it uses a lot of terms specific to finance and centers its theming around it, C is…

It's not an easy anime to comprehend the underlying philosophy of but its short and easily digestible once you do get it. They achieved carrying out that message, a ton of aspects of the show are incredibly impressive. You don't get much background of the characters but I like that, shows often get forced into doing flashbacks of a characters past and it comes across as inorganic, I had zero points where I felt something was forced in this show, I had an easy time watching it, that's why I rate it so high. The art-style is also quite impressive, the ability to mix in the weird traditional setting of the financial district with the more modern flashy anime style I believe is no small feat. The show didn't need that much complex animation but even at points they did they were able to provid…

I don't usually give reviews but i liked the plot and story of the anime. It sure is underrated judging it's originality. Though they could make some more episodes and explain in detail the financial terms and conclude it with some proper ending, that would be nice. Although i liked the story. The art and animation quality is top notch i think besides it was released in 2011. I was kinda astonished wirh the art and animation quality. Fighting scenes are quite good. The main character is quite realistic in comparison. Seems to be confused of his decisions all the time. But I liked the character I will recommend it to watch.

Note: I don't usually do reviews and this is my first one since I feel like this anime is underrated and wanted to present my opinion towards it. Overall: Most factors of the anime were enjoyable, the only 2 points that were lacking are the character development and slightly confusing system. The idea was extremely well done and in my opinion, the positives greatly outweigh the negatives. Definitely worth a try :) Story: The story and plot itself is substantial, I feel like they could've made it more clear with how things are calculated however the idea of a Financial District and its effect on the real world was original and new for me. Not only that, the fight between valuing the present and future and to what degree was very intriguing and allows the viewer to think for themselves and…

When I first watched the money of soul, it was maybe a 5/10. However, I'm here to tell you: I WAS WRONG Ever since studying economics at a high level, I realized this show is actually fucking deep, in a way 95% of the audience will never understand. The debate over weather to prioritize the present of the future has never been more alive, and this anime captures that brilliantly. All that being said, I don't think this anime is for everyone, and it even dragged on a bit for me at the beginning. But regardless I think this anime covers some breathtakingly complex issues in a very significant way, that I didn't even understand on first watch. If you like economics watch this anime

That anime is not great, is not something special. But make to think about the money we are using every day, the asset we have. It is a some kind a invisible relationship with our asset, if you want some to buy or sell, you always need to have money. People saying you dont need money, but with money you can get yacht with b!tches, but that points. Your relationship is always must be positive, if your asset is going to negative, you gone lost your access to other stuff, with other words. You must keep your relationship with your asset always happy. You may not need to have yacht, but you gone need to have a access to stuff to make yourself and other people happy and secure. By keeping your relationship with your asset positive. Let say, if we are back to 5000 years before, when the mon…

At first glance, this anime can look cheap and boring, a strange plot and the most cliche duels that make no sense except to fill the viewing time. However, appearances can be deceiving. in the first few minutes of watching, you are hit by the opening which is honestly fire, then you are immediately drawn into the plot, which makes it impossible to tear yourself away from watching until you see the end credits of the last episode. The plot, although perhaps not the best after a longer analysis, holds together and as a short 11-episode break from reality works great. I think you can treat this short series as a movie with which you have fun but you never have to go back to it. Of course, it's not the best work in the world, the plot is actually a bit detached and strange, the characters ar…

The show has interesting premise and visuals (the other world and its creatures), as well as nice voice acting performed by great seiyuus. The story is, however, all over the place. And not in a way that would make it entertaining, it's just not thought out well, to the point it feels like a writer's first draft. Some scenes go on forever despite barely adding anything to the plot, while others are skipped through so fast the viewer is left behind. The narrative shows lack of understanding of how money operates on the author's part, as well as lack of message. Which is fine, not all stories have to have a message. But this story feels like it is very invested in the idea of having one, with its mysterious veil and metaphorical images. Or at the very least, it really wants viewers to believ…

I swear whoever made this dropped out of an economics course in community college in the first semester and then decided to make a anime based on what little knowledge he had gained. Or he lost money on some stock like a /biz/tard usually does. Well whatever, regardless of who made this one thing it is for certain. It isn't a very good anime. It doesn't help it was nothing more than a battle shounen trash without any originality whatsoever. Every trope under the sun was used here and outside of some odd visuals here and there it just didn't do anything right. The horrible engrish didn't help and the future bullshit made me roll my eyes out of my sockets. The story ended very abruptly as well, like the writer couldn't wrap things up properly or something.

Post Series Depression: ~2 Tear Factor: ~3 Laugh Factor: 1 Drama Factor: 1 Character Attachment: ~5 Story - 6: The story revolves around a boy who gets pulled into a mystical world that one could only best describe as basically you have 1 Pokemon (sometimes?) and everything is based on money rather than health points - also once you go bankrupt your life is ruined? The idea for the story IMO was very good but poorly executed - the story kind of derails seemingly toward the 75% mark. Art - 6: The art itself was alright but they decided to use 3d models for the assets (pokemon) but everything else basically seemed like it was set 2d. Other than that the art kinda seems a little outdated for the time it was released. Sound - 7: There seemed to be a lot of artifacts in the audio (unless it…

"I Didnt come here to gamble, I came cause I needed the money" With such an interesting title, I really didnt know what to expect. But the first 5 minutes of this show set it up for some interesting plot. The visuals are great as well. But by the end of episode 1 I felt like it would be a typial hero story of some sort. But as the story goes on you see how the main character develops over time based on the people he is with/fights. That whole episode with the teacher and his kids disappearing made this show a bit more than just a typical shounen to me. I watched the dubbed and the voice acting fit really well. The tones and inflections were great for each character and kept the drama up. Each character seemed very believable. I found it interesting how the MC wasnt too overpowered and…

This is a high concept, high potential anime, however it is unfocused and bites more than it can chew. The anime started off very grounded and easy to grasp, however it slowly kept piling up these themes and concepts without properly developing them or going anywhere with them. They sort of just vaguley start something and then abruptly end it. Or explain something without actually explanining something. It gives more questions than answers in the end, leaving you feeling like you want more, which was fine at first but towards the end, you're honestly lost. It's not a shounen or battle anime by any means. The fighting doesn't really make sense or mean anything. There is no strategy. Poker is more intense than these fights. It's not a comedy, it's not a slice of life. It's more a style a…

the better part of this anime is the brief moments of slice of life, but once action starts and other dimensional travels, life or death gambling begins..... things take a turn for the outrageous and unbelievable. it becomes too over the top this story could very well be a 10 with the writers ability to make slice of life, work and self reflective thoughts of his characters, complicated relationships. i would much rather watch that anime then one filled with twist and turns like this particular series is. I'm not going to say not watch it. or watch it. there's good moments in a otherwise mediocre story.

Proper Closing: The only thing I wished it had was a proper ending the ending left me with a weird taste I believe that if the anime had at least one more episode to close things out it would improve a lot and would be close to a perfect anime that it would've become. The Characters: I loved how this anime gave the characters meaning into why they took the actions they took. At first the characters confused me but at you learn there back story you know why they took the actions they took OVERALL: I think it's a good anime the characters, the plot, and everything else was good I think they should of at least done one more episode to close things out for the MC no girl or hint at the future he desperately fought to protect it left me with a sour ending. Just sucked how they left the MC of…

Where do I begin... Just finished this one a few minutes ago (in one sitting) and I still have to put everything together in my mind. I'm overwhelmed by so many aspects but at the same time there was so much that let me down. P.s: I'm not a native english speaker, sorry :p So, let's start. I love to begin with the "bad" aspects since it left a bitter aftertaste, still better than worse though. You get thrown right into the story. A lot of times you'll think "Why did they have to rush this part". It's not just once this is going to happen, there's a lot of shortcutting involved here. I don't know if they just wanted to save money or release it in under 12 episodes but it really hurt the anime. For example the fight against Kou Sennoza. There's no problem about putting a harsh cut at the st…

A REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS QUITE A LOT ABOUT THE ECONOMY AND FINANCE As I was watching this anime, I was constantly feeling the need to write an extremely biased review. Now that I finished I'm giving in, although I'm not a fan of biased reviews. But maybe someone there will be happy to since there are a lot of more casual and I kind of do have specialist knowledge on the subject. Okay, so why am I so biased? I've been working in finance for 2 years and I'm also finishing my master's degree in the field but this anime took me back to my second year when micro III was such a dreadful subject, portfolio management, and general financial market was something vague and... kind of powerful, like this mystical power we are going to obtain if we persevere and don't give up on studying. THI…

To sum up, this anime is an intriguing train-wreck. The first time I wrote it off as trash and left it in the mediocre category in my MAL. After getting curious watching it again, I found that it was surprisingly good. First of all, I do agree the initial premise for the show makes absolutely no sense at all. The idea of people getting into magical cars to crash into walls Harry Potter style to get transported into other worlds is completely ludicrous. I can see it being very tough for watchers to swallow before getting into the show Some of the economic concepts especially when blended with magic make absolutely no sense The idea of people getting erased and the world being modified is completely illogical. The "C" wave to me makes no sense, no matter how much I think about it. How can…

A piece of art is what this anime is. It provides insight into the current economic status and dives DEEP into many, many psychological concepts and the vastly different personas and beliefs of people. The characters have sharply realistic character developments, some that warm your heart, others that make you feel as if you were just stabbed in the heart. When watching this anime, I was so absorbed by this story, that I could not help myself from watching this entire series in a single sitting. (it was amazing lol) I believe that due to this series only being eleven episodes long, there were many questions left unanswered, however, it had a very intriguing plotline and was something not often seen in anime. Definitely, an abstract series not catered to all, but if you are one that enjoys…

can i give give this anime lower score than 1 ? when i watch it , it felt like iam dying slowly inside due to boring of the story and the characters.Even moves and things that happen in the other realm doesn't make any sense at all .the only thing that is good is the animation and the design. the story feels dull and empty.also the good thing about this show that its only 11 episodes, so you can go through it fast and hate your self for watching it. there is nothing for you in this anime at all. DONT waste your time watching.

I found this by typing random stuff into the search bar, what i found is quite..... let's just say, unique. Let's start with the story, it's ok, not amazing, not terrible either, but sometimes it just feels like the studio doesn't have enough budget to fill in the plot(funny for a show that focus about money) so they have to rush and cramp a lot of stuff into 1 episode or hell, just a straight up plot hole, overall i gave the story the score of 6, i like the story, but not that much Well then the art, ehhhhhhhhh, is amazing, the visual it shows in the first episode caught my eyes fast, i cant really describe how it feels, but it's good, though sometimes they use 3D model for some part, especially that GUY, overall, i can't explain the art, you'll just have to see it for yourself, and so…
