This anime got extremely boring very fast. At first it was pretty silly and something I could watch while eating. I didn't expect anything crazy at all with this anime but it just stopped being fun. The food wasn't even that interesting, which is like the main point of watching this anime. Unfortunately, Delicious in Dungeon keeps reminding me that anime with more interesting monster food exists and many isekai writers are really attached to the idea that instant ramen is the best food in the world.
It felt pretty directionless and every new character added to the cast felt like a hollow idea of something more interesting.

This anime was pretty boring. It's just full of the same tropes and is so repetitive. It's not even good for watching in the background, as there's better anime for that. There was no plot and so many of the characters were annoying. Without spoilers, a lot of the characters seemed to come off as entitled and selfish.
The food and art style did look nice, but otherwise, there isn't much thats recommendable. Isekai with the same tropes, characters, etc, can be interesting, but this anime didn't utilize anything enough to make it interesting. The cooking part may be unique, but the rest is generic. The story was very predictable as well. It may interest you if you like simple plotless cooking anime, but even then there's better anime out there for cooking and fantasy than this one.

This review is for seasons 1 and 2.
This is a decent little show that does the anime cooking thing along with a twist on the classic isekai power fantasy.
For the cooking aspect, the MC and his party fight monsters then cook up the carcass. It always consists of a few cuts showcasing the food being prepared, followed by biting into the food, making ahegao faces as they taste it, and then complimenting what they're eating with flowery language. This is fun the first few times they do it, but then it starts to drag from how formulaic it is. They do it 1-2 times per episode and it *always* follows the same formula. The retort people could give to this point is that the show has "cooking" in the name, so it would be weird to criticize how much cooking it involves -- it's the central premis…

The story isn't particularly epic and is much more low-stakes than most isekai anime. The main character is also extremely overpowered without much explanation and don't expect a lot of tension or challenging battles.
That said, the real star of the show is the food. Every meal looks incredible that you can almost smell and taste it through the screen. If you're a fan of cooking anime or just enjoy seeing delicious food, this series is a very enjoyable watch.
I found it to be a little more than a simple background anime but still enjoyable to watch on to season 2.

In short, if you enjoy a very relaxing anime that does not try to create much tension, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill might be for you.
However, if you get easily bored by shows where the main cycle is basically “new place, new ingredient, new meal,” then this anime may become repetitive very quickly.
Art: 7/10
The art is genuinely nice. The character designs are pleasant, the fantasy world looks decent, and the food scenes are easily one of the highlights of the anime.
Whenever the anime focuses on cooking, the presentation becomes much more appealing. The food looks tasty, the colors are strong, and the whole process has that comfortable “food anime” feeling.
I did notice some reused shots here and there, but nothing that really damaged the flow of the anime.

It starts off fairly strong, the cooking scenes are well animated and initially feel relaxing which gives the series a nice hook. Unfortunately, that appeal fades as the show goes on. The biggest issue is the constant squabbling and pestering from the familiars. Instead of adding charm their behaviour quickly becomes repetitive and irritating. Because of this the cooking scenes which are supposed to be the relaxing part they rarely get the chance to actually feel calm or enjoyable. The series also struggles to balance its genres.
It tries to combine fantasy adventure with a cooking-focused slice-of-life format but the two elements never blend naturally. The fantasy side lacks tension because the main character becomes overpowered very quickly thanks to the strength of his familiars. As a…

In short: A harmless nothing-burger of a series for young audiences at best.
"Campfire cooking" is yet another series that focuses on just one particular theme or ability of the protagonist, with nothing in the way of story or character development. In this case, cooking.
Due to the lack of tangible story or overarching plot, the episodes become tedious quickly. There are only so many times you can watch the same thing over and over: Guy cooks food, wolf eats food, 'It's yummy', lather, rinse, repeat. Not to mention hearing the same food-cooking theme song becomes tiresome.
It's well-drawn, moderately well-animated, and the characters are likeable but completely one-dimensional, serving as nothing more than foils to the protagonist's cooking and sounding like a series of yelp-reviews for…

This anime so good for you who bored watching template Isekai anime. The world have so many monsters and there's bad guys also but never intimidating. Also it's always focused on cooking and adventure.
The story not deep and complex at all, it's so light and go with the flow like water in river. It's recommend to watch if you just want enjoy relaxing anime while eating food aswell.
MC and his friends are so enjoying life together. Many side characters like people in many places also have kind personality, like helping, respect and not scamming. I mean, yes there's bad guys aswell but it's just like meh..
There's so many other races aswell like goblins, orcs, monsters, wyverns, etc. The main character always scared but his friends enjoy beating all of them then party eating delicious foo…

Tondemo Skill by Isekai Hourou Meshi is the kind of isekai that understands its genre very well and decides to play with it instead of taking it too seriously. The premise begins by subverting expectations: we follow the classic “hero summoned to another world”, but who, because he has no useful combat skills, is quickly discarded. The difference here is that the anime doesn't turn this into a big existential drama - there are no speeches about abandonment, loneliness or cruel fate. On the contrary, everything is handled with lightness and good humor, which makes the experience extremely enjoyable.
Mukouda is a simple, almost banal protagonist, which is precisely why he works so well. He doesn't want to save the world, defeat the demon king or become legendary; his goal is just to live co…

Camping mukbang YouTube videos - the anime. 6/10
TL:DR; The junk-food version of Dungeon Meshi. None of the world-building, clever ecological designs, character development, or any of the really good bits. Just cooking in a field with cool pets. This series is graded on vibe, not plot (because there isn't any).
The Review:
From the start, you can tell this will be a slightly different isekai. It's not nested in power fantasy. No revenge plots. No harem (kinda). No need to show up the Hero's party. It's exactly what it says it is - cooking in another world. If there were a plot, it would basically be "a shy guy tries to be brave while making simple dishes for his pets". And ya know what? That's totally fine. It doesn't take itself seriously and enjoys the ride - so you should too.

Story
I think this might be the best casual fantasy anime I've watched this year. I really love how the MC's low-key adventures subtly impact local markets and economies just by selling rare goods acquired through his unique skill/familiars. Aside from the world-building and economic threads, both the cooking and fighting elements are executed extremely well. The sheer variety of dishes and the detailed preparation shown are a highlight. Regarding the action, it's satisfying to see the MC not instantly becoming overpowered after one easy kill; instead, he gains experience and power at a more measured pace. My only minor criticisms are that I didn't see much comedy despite it being listed in the genres, and the very end of the season felt a little meaningless.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill gives a new take on the isekai genre by mixing the usual reincarnation setup with a fun and simple twist: online shopping. Instead of focusing on big fights or deep world-building, it takes a chill, food-centered approach that feels cozy and relaxing.
The main character, Mukouda Tsuyoshi, gets summoned to another world with a few heroes but quickly learns he’s not one of them. His only ability, “Online Grocery,” lets him order stuff from modern Japan. It sounds weak, but it turns into something fun as he uses it to cook amazing meals with both Earth and fantasy ingredients.
The real charm comes from the cooking scenes and the reactions of his companions. Watching Mukouda whip up dishes with soy sauce, spices, and other normal items i…

This is hard to review, because Campfire Cooking does meet the expectations set in the title, this is about a guy who reincarnated in another world and his "skill" is to access an online store website to purchase items from his original world, so he is using this ability to lay back and explore this new world. That's it, that's the entire thing, there is nothing else going on.
This is just a chill anime, I'd argue that there is no action because nothing is at stake, and there doesn't seem to be any intention to put any action in this thing. This is like an "adventure" anime but there really is not any adventure, it's more like "exploration" or "traveling". It just exists and that's honestly fine

This anime is a perfect example of isekai slow life: a genre of isekai that focuses on the slice of life aspect of the world. Usually, these types of isekai story telling do not have complex stories and plots but they don't have to be entertaining. Instead the focus of the storytelling relies on the characters and how they interact with the world. This anime certainly has a colorful cast of characters that can brighten up your day. The voice acting is unexpectedly impressive. Especially Fel's voice acting (Japanese) which is charming and captivating and always a joy to hear. The lore is not complex however it is interwoven appropriately throughout the story. You get just enough information to make sense of the world that the character resides. The cooking is also captivating to see and it…

As the title suggests, it’s all about cooking and… you guessed it, food. Lots of food.
Now, if you’re into mouth-watering dishes and chill vibes, this anime might just hit the spot. But if your attention span is shorter than a ramen noodle, don’t even try — you’ll watch two episodes and start questioning your life choices.
My personal rating? Meh. It’s not bad, but it’s not chef’s kiss either. There’s basically no plot, just endless cooking scenes that might make you hungry but also make you wonder why you’re still watching. It’s the anime equivalent of snacking. Enjoyable for a bit, but zero substance.

Chillest Isekai I've seen. It's like when you can't deal with playing PvP, you just go do some PvE to relax.
MC is a very normal dude (with impressive cooking skills) sent in another world. At times, I could be a bit frustrated by his coward acts and lack of will to become stronger. But if you look at it in another perspective, he's just you and me sent in a world filled with scary monsters and with very mid powers. However, he has 2 very strong friends and doesn't really need to become stronger.
Also, the MC is not that stupid and I like how, from the begining, he's trying to be very careful about not standing out (with very limited success thanks to its friends who like to show off a bit too much) and getting immediately away from the shady king and its realm.
Honestly, the overall vib…

Honestly speaking, this anime was very mid. There wasn't much to it in terms of plot - the majority of this anime was the wolf "familiar" defeating a bunch of S and A level monsters with barely any scenes that show some proper action... As it started getting boring, another "familiar" was introduced, a cute slime that eventually also became overpowered, who woulda guessed. The main character was brought into this world by people to help fight off monsters, a typical Issekai, but then he just decides to leave and no one cares? Furthermore, once he leaves on his journey, there's nothing that refers back to the other original heroes / story???? Like what is going on here... what was even the point of that starting section then?
The only entertaining part of this anime was the art style and t…

“Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skills” might sound like the title of yet another sloppy isekai, but I urge you to at least give it a try, because it really is more than just a “sloppy isekai.” It is lighthearted, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and has just the right amount of comedy.
The protagonist might not be anything special, but paired with the unconventional side characters and comfortably predictable world-building, it turns into something both heartwarming and oftentimes funny. The only demerit being that the pacing might be a little too slow for some viewers.
If you’re looking for an anime to give your mind a break from all the convoluted world-building and EPIC battles, and really just want to have a good laugh, this is the anime for you.

I just binge-watched all 12 episodes today (30th Sept 2025). This anime falls into the isekai–comedy–fantasy genre. It follows the typical isekai vibes and rules we’ve all seen before, but despite that, it still manages to take a different approach.
In my opinion, the story feels very calm and soft. There’s no over-the-top aura fights or insanely OP main character here. Instead, it sits in the same lane as shows like Delicious in Dungeon. The main character isn’t a warrior – he just knows how to cook. And in this new world, no one can prepare food the way he does.
We get to see different types of fantasy beasts and animals being turned into delicious meals, while also following the MC’s adventure.
The animation is by MAPPA, so I don’t even need to say anything there – it’s solid as alwa…

Look, this 9 is a pure personal preference rating. Isekai + cooking + comedy + action is my perfect combination anime. While Dungeon meshi certainly is a much more rounded, character-driven, and emotional story, Campfire Cooking keeps you entertained through sheer absurdity and situation. I would compare it more to Konosuba and a situational comedy show. Don't expect any deep meaning or exciting story. IMO, that's not what an isekai is built for (though Re:ZERO does refute a bit). When I watch an isekai, I want to see a relatable MC use his knowledge of our world to build himself an empire in a new world. Isn't that the fantasy aspect of isekai that you watch for????
I will also mention that even this isekai feels fresh because the MC is overpowered only in his ability to build economy an…
