Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - III. Spring Song

Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel - III. Spring Song

Introduction

The Fifth Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City has reached a turning point in which the lives of all participants are threatened as the hidden enemy finally reveals itself. As Shirou Emiya, Rin Toosaka, and Illyasviel von Einzbern discover the true, corruptive nature of the shadow that has been rampaging throughout the city, they realize just how dire the situation is. In order to protect their beloved ones, the group must hold their own against the seemingly insurmountable enemy force—even if some of those foes were once their allies, or perhaps, something more intimate. As the final act of this chaotic war commences, the ideals Shirou believes will soon be challenged by an excruciating dilemma: is it really possible to save a world where everything seems to have gone wrong? This sucks. No, seriously. This trilogy of movies just sucks. Straight up. I'm gonna be blunt when I say this: I think that ufotable does NOT do the Fate series justice. When adapting a visual novel to anime, you have to understand that you are working with a INHERENTLY difficult medium to adapt into anime. You have to remember that visual novels are wordy. Really wordy. Their charm comes into reading their prose, almost like a book with pictures. And I'm gonna be blunt with this one: They should've just left Fate to DEEN. If there's something I can bring myself to like about DEEN's Saber Route, is that they get everything about what makes Stay/Night right. While the animation isn't super good, they get the atmosphere right. They get the vibes right. They get the way these characters…

--- note: this is a review of the entire Heaven's Feel trilogy. I won't be going out of my way to spoil this specific movie but HF movies 1 and 2 are fair game for me imo --- I was pretty harsh to UBW. I was not a very huge fan and I just kind of assumed this super clean, polished, uber-animated Ufotable style wasn't going to fit Fate as well as the Deen one did imo. After watching the Heaven's Feel trilogy... to be honest, maybe UBW just kinda sucked because this was even better than Deen, let alone UBW. It's generally speaking about as well animated as UBW in most shots. There are some different/"shinier" lighting choices and the fights definitely benefit from a cinematic perspective but for a jump from TV to movie, it's not, like, huge imo. The fights do look amazing, I was blown a…

Ever since the games I've always shipped Rin and Shirou because they're a dynamic duo, really, in every route they just click... But I couldn't help but cheear for Sakura, who was always there, suffering alone... And in fact, she saved shirou's life without knowing... He changed his ways for her, not long sacrificing the important things for the sake of the world... Not a hero anymore, not future killing machine, but instead just a hero for her and her only. The movie was great, it did justice for the game, Aimer did a great job conveying Sakuras feelings through each song, just perfect. As a long time fun, this movie made cry even when I already knew the story. It cuts off somethings, and not everything is perfect... Ultimately they had to choose for what POV the story would be told and…

This review covers for the entire trilogy, not just Spring Song. The Heaven's Feel trilogy served as the "True Ending" of Fate/Stay Night, and I think this is the best version I've watched (I haven't watched the original Studio Deen Fate/Stay Night, but I don't think I'll like it as much as I liked this one), as it felt like the most complex and completed ending. The first part Presage Flower I think was solid, but Lost Butterfly and Spring Song completely surpassed my expectations both in terms. The animation of Heaven's Feel was insane, and goes to show how much Ufotable can truly cook. Like this might just be in terms of raw animation talent one of, if not the best I've ever seen. I think this is the arc that truly filled in the gaps of Shirou as a character, Heaven's Feel made him…

Spring Song isn't perfect, but it's a damn good final film for the Heaven's Feel trilogy. While maybe not as nuanced and subversive as Lost Butterfly, This movie does do a lot of things right; namely, giving Sakura independence and breaking her out of the role of damsel in distress. She's genuinely menacing and unpredictable, a welcome change for the character. Shirou rises to the mantle of hero (as is his fate) but it's different from UBW, his tragic path throughout the trilogy has shaped him differently, rather than stardust and the heroic ideal, HF Shirou accepts his mortality and fights to protect what he can; it's a fascinating take on the character. Father Kotomine and Matou Zouken serve as great competing antagonists. Being that this is the finale, the fight scenes are outrageous,…

This opinion will be based on the trilogy after watching the three today. As a Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: UBW fan, I can say these three movies are bad. Period. I was very excited to watch all of these and when I started I was not only taken aback by the pacing of the narrative but also by the character's lack of development whatsoever. As a trilogy, it's just not good story-wise, character wise. In general terms I think I'd say these are shallow films. Pretty, very much so, but only pretty. There's no depth. There's no development. There's no clear ending. Story-arcs are incomplete or rushed. Characters' personalities are abhorrent. I don't really mind falling into clichés, but Sakura was just a disappointment. Second film being basically soft-p0rn or straight up p0rn... yea I could…

All good stories come to an end, either you are ready or not. I for one binged all 3 movies in one sitting . The experience is... something i haven't felt ever since i was excited watching my first anime when i was smaller. Nowadays mediocrity is the norm all across the board. No risk taking, just safe apologetic slop. I for one hate it. That's why im all in for this true masterpiece. Once again, they go big and hit the bullseye with this one. The animation, the sound that also adds more then people even realize. Now that it's over though... i feel rather empty.... I know for a fact however that one point I WILL rewatch this series and everything fate has to offer. The one small gripe is the ending's kinda not explained, had to look for answers elsewhere. 10/10. You won't regret it, unles…

This is going to be a review of all three films. The first one is good, the second is when things start to slip up, and the third is just plain bad. There is potential in the setup, but the writers are so bad that they screw it up in the plot department. The characters are all unlikeable, with the exception of sabre, the teacher and Archer, who are taken out of the picture early. We get no backstory for rider, who takes up so much goddamn screentime. At first Ilya tries to kill the MCs but then she joins them for no reason. Shinji abusing his sister was just gratuitous. Shirou never asks any of the questions begged by all the infodumps he received from other characters frequently, instead being content with chilling in his harem house. Also, how did Ilya know that her brother was selecte…

Studio Ufotable’s finale to the last Fate/stay night arc is a mind-meltingly impressive piece of animation. The last couple of scenes don’t feel completely earned, and there are one or two other story beats that are a tad rushed or aren’t fleshed out enough, but I had a hard time being bothered by any of that because I was so utterly enraptured by how incredible it all looked. Ufotable’s movies and shows have always looked stunning, particularly their work with the Fate franchise, and that trend doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon. I was constantly wowed by Spring Song’s extraordinary imagery, and Saber’s big battle is one of the most jaw-droppingly intense action sequences in the history of anime itself. Honestly, that duel alone almost earned it a spot here. All in all though, Spr…

DON'T MISUNDERSTAND ME THIS FILM IS GREAT AND I LOVE HOW IT EXPANDS ON THE VISUAL NOVEL IN THE TINIEST DETAILS --- BUT! The entire trilogy is just WAY WAY lacking of content. The entire point of the heaven's feel route is for us to finally stop idealizing the concept of Emiya Shirou was cursed to bear. That he actually deserves to live amongst humans despite being the only one who lived the Great Fire = and to move on from his survivor's guilt. The visual novel is the perfect way to convey this aspect of the plot because in that medium you get to spend a huge chunk of your time doing all of the mundane things with Sakura and Illya - the two anchors of normal life Emiya Shirou has (alongside Fuji-nee of course). However, because of time constraints movie have - the trilogy can only fit…

THIS MOVIE CONTAINS MY PERSONAL PICK FOR THE GREATEST FIGHT IN ANIME HISTORY. Watching this in theaters had me floating out of my seat. The Heavens Feel trilogy is easily the best anime movie trilogy and should be looked at as art. I'm not completely sure if this is the end of the main Fate timeline but it's definitely worthy of the title. This movie has the most jaw dropping animation I have ever seen and along with the superb soundtrack it would be impossible for me to not recommend it. The fights will have your eyes locked into the movie. Don't miss out on this.

I rate this anime 10/10, as this is a anime that give me huge impressive feeling compare to others. If you want to watch all the fate series, this one is definitely need to watch. The movie effect is amazing and the whole story is impressive. Also, when Aimer's song comes out at the end, that push this anime to the next level, as it has the feel like the battle is done, people will go back to normal life. To be honest, if you haven't watch fate zero before, you won't know what happen to all the character before. However, it is still recommend to watch as the fighting scene is very excited.

If you want a movie with a lot of good animation, go for it, this one is full of that, but as an adaptation it fails in a lot of ways, this is not just an "ok" adaptation, it's essentially a 20 lines essay about a 200 pages book, so the plot might be confusing, the characters be much less interesting than what they actually are, and yes, even the fights mostly lack in comparisson to the original material, so for the true experience i recommend to check out the Visual Novel. Aside from that, if you don't actually know the source material, you might have a pretty good time, visually it's great, soundtrack is cool as well, the plot is still pretty good since the original material is amazing, but it's still like comparing a casual breakfest to a complete Christmas meal, it still has a great ta…

The Fate series is bizarre to say the least. This is one of the parts of the Fate franchise that the most people miss out on. Heaven’s Feel is a trilogy of Movies animated by Ufotable. It’s the Sakura route of the Fate/Stay Night anime and it’s an amazing addition to a series packed with great action and visuals. This review will be more focused on those who have some experience with the fate franchise, especially since I think few who are considering watching these movies wouldn’t have already watched Fate Zero or Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works at least. Before going any further I also want to say that I’m reviewing the entire trilogy of movies in this review since they are effectively one anime that has movie like animation. If you’ve already watched Unlimited Blade Works you mi…

Can we just take a moment to congratulate Ufotible for delivering a masterpiece that is one few and far between. Animation 10/10, story 10/10, the voice actors killed it. The Heavens Feel Movies offer a change of pace from the Fate Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks Series since they are able to offer a compelling and alternate ending to an already grand story. I watched the OG Fate Stay Night and Fate Stay Night Unlimited Bladeworks back when they aired. I can say for sure that these movies definitely fill in some plot holes and answer questions that people might have about the story. Overall a definite recommend from me. If you have already watched the Fate Series go watch some of Ufotable's other works. The art direction is god level and to think that they were able to achieve such a feat…

Fate/Stay night heavens feel was a good piece of anime. it had a decent story amazing animation and some good sound tracks. even though some sound tracks are the usual fate sound tracks they are still good. i had a little less enjoyment out of this since some choices in the story were not optimal in my opinion but overall it was quite decent. I would say this is an optional movie trilogy if you are bored but i wouldn't call it a must watch or anything. it is more of a different route like what if this happened then a real extension to the story. but overall i would say it was half decent but by far not the greatest piece Type Moon has made.

After been watching some series of fate the ones that i could say would be my favorites (althought others like Fate/Apocrypha or Fate/Extra: Last Encore were in more or less degree good , with maybe apocrypha being much better in all aspects than last encore for example) and being my favorite fate/zero following in second place unlimited blade works, i have to say that i had good expectatives of the trilogy of heaven feels adapting the third route ,now with the focus being on matou sakura intead of rin or saber like the others ones, but at the end it didnt hold to my expactatives ( or at least i didnt like it as much as the other two mentioned, and i gonna try to let my own opinion of the things that i like it and the ones i didnt like. I have to say firts than anything that this review it…

We see the resolution of the Fate triology. It seems to me a correct resolution. The animation is very good, with the final fight, for God's sake how well animated this is an audiovisual delight. It then goes deeper into the relationship between the sisters and the conflicts each faced. The soundtrack accompanies the animation very well. There is a character design that I fell in love with which was the little black thing with eyes, it's so cute. I love the design. I think the end of the movie is very consistent with the characters and their motives. I really like how it all ends, but the only thing that bothers me is that the protagonist ends up staying with Rin's sister and I love Rin so I think that was a serious mistake. Spoiler I am going to talk about something that happens in the en…

A review for the whole Heaven's Feel trilogy adaptation. SPOILERS WOULD BE INCLUDED. Note: I will try my best not to turn this into a rant. As I watch the trilogy a while ago, it was very full of complete opposite feelings. The animation is peak movie quality production, it's so amazing. I like the artstyle as it fits to Takeuchi's current artstyle(his old art style still better in some aspects tho). And the visuals are very amazing. The only thing to nitpick on this part is that some parts of Dark Berserker gives me PTSD to Berserk CGI. The voice acting were top notch as well it has the most emotion possible to every character. But that's just it. Everything else were infuriating to me. Let's start with the soundtracks. Honestly, the best one in the trilogy is that very short "EMI…
