The Idaten Deities is a show that oozes style in its art, music, and character design. An impressive number of the characters are extremely likable, intelligent, and entertaining. They often had me (actually) laughing out loud without the show ever appearing to be trying.

The Opening:
The song, animation, and how they work together perfectly gets you ready to watch the show. Aside from the song being an absolute banger, the animation is a compilation of absurdism and abstract art that someone threw buckets of primary colors at. The composition gives the sense that they cared about musicality, and it shows in the way the visuals basically dance to the song.
The Premise:
The world of Idaten feels thought though from the history and timeline of humanity, demons, and the Idat…

Saw the art style and i trust MAPPA making a decent anime, decent opening and ending visuals and soundtrack.
This anime is awful, like what is the story?, old guy traps demons because demons kills humans why?,because demons wants to destroy the world and eat humans,oh cool where do they come from?, meh i don't know, anyway cool now that they are sealed humans are safe right?,well apparently the old guys who sealed the demons got mixed in with the pot of dead demon stew and now it has knowledge, and btw it has wifi to control robots from afar.
The story has no substance, the nudity is awful, characters are annoying, the mc trio of useless girl, smartass(who btw they tease this guy as having evil intentions in ep 1 but they do nothing out of it),and the generic battle genius.
This anime made me…

An extremely unique anime that sets itself apart and holds a broad appeal inspite of uniqueness.
Silly characters, hilarious dialogue, intense action and fighting, interesting animation and artwork style, intriguing story, conflicting narrative elements(which I actually find awesomely executed), great intro and music, deep philosophical narratives even though a light hearted execution.
It's truly difficult to find diamonds in the rough in anime. So many tropes have been so thoroughly played out that even shows that hit all the right elements within the given narrative and thematic structure often don't reach the status of peak anime.
Because of this, when an anime sets itself apart, the criteria it is judged by is different. With this in mind, this shows is not a serious anime. Because of…

Hey there! I just wrapped up this anime, and I stumbled upon the last ten chapters of the manga—I couldn't find a translation, but a little spoiler diving did the trick! At first glance, especially in those initial episodes, I found the show super unique and intriguing.
The art style and animation, along with that catchy opening song and all those cool effects, really grabbed my attention. Honestly, I never skipped the opening! The story revolves around humanoid gods trying to figure out their roles, dealing with the fact that, other than being immortal and pretty much invincible against humans, they’re not so different from us. It’s wild how these gods work hard to gain power and battle their longtime foes, the demons and tentacles. What's even more fascinating is that their very existen…

Another bang opening from MAPPA. They really are in a class of their own with that. While i always leave the OP on regardless many times i might sneak a peek on my phone or do something else while its playing. But not with this one. This one is well worth watching all 11 times. Yes a shorter 11 episode anime. In a way i enjoy it among all the poorly paced animes out there taking forever to get to the point. Idatten goes the other way almost being to qickly paced where things move along to fast. But its also part of its crazy charm.
Its a visual spectacle. An eyecandy wich in itself is worth a watch. Throw in some crazy and cool fights. Fun characters. And a bunch of bizarre and degenerate stuff and you got a crazy fun short anime. As long as you dont take it to seriously this isa fun wat…

This really shows that when we have overpowering power to destroy the world, we don't necessarily mean we can make peace, because it takes thought and intelligence to adapt, adapt and innovate according to existing problems.
The anime is really good, the story and plot twists are unexpected, the MC and his friends are super powerful but this becomes a battle of strategy as to how the enemies learn and use tricks and plans to defeat this overpowered force, as if we can see from 2 points of view both from the MC and his friends and from the villain's side

tl;dr: An incredibly bizarre but well executed anime that has a very abrupt non-ending.
Demons lead by a demon king that want to destroy the world is a pretty standard anime trope. Gods that oppose them is also pretty standard. These gods looking down on humans to the point they’re also portrayed as evil also isn’t all that rare of a concept. However, in such cases the plot usually goes in the direction of something like humans fighting against both demons and gods eventually or there being exceptions that are more compassionate to humans. But either way, the value of humanity seems to be a principle that is very rarely infringed upon. This anime is pretty unique in that it completely tramples it and does it quite casually.

When you read Synopsis you might think this might be an awesome anime if you into action and fantasy, well.... you might be wrong and right, let me quickly say why.
The animation style is really kind weird compared to other mainstream anime, so that can put you off, as it did for me at the start, but as i watched it i got used to it, so it didnt bother me later on (although i still dont like it).
So if you can get pass that then this anime isnt that bad actually, it has action, erotic characters(a bit fucked up and i didnt like that part) and some questionable things going on if that intrigues you...
The part that made it a bit different from other anime is that the "good" guys are just op compared to the bad ones and they just whoop their ass easy, no random fake struggling and then the…

Since the first seasons of "Attack on Titan" and "Tokyo Ghoul" aired in 2013 / 2014, a plethora of anime have been released which attempt to answer the same philosophically and ethically grey question: When two populations are so utterly at odds that the only solution seems to be complete eradication of one side, what is the correct way forward? In "Attack on Titan", this conflict manifests in the struggle for racial supremacy between Eldians and non-Eldians, with both sides marred by centuries of brutal, unfair oppression. In "Tokyo Ghoul", the paradigm sees Ghouls, who rely on humans as a food source for existence, clash with humans, who view their lives as more than that of a mere meal. This pattern of one side versus the other, with no apparent room for any middle ground or compromises…

It's a rare hidden gem I have to say.
Not everybody would like it, but this only makes it better for those who will.
Because you can't be a masterpiece loved by everybody.
Because the only way to have something not disliked by anyone is to have nothing.
This one have some controversial stuff.
And I'd prefer it to have less of it to be honest.
But it's ain't bad enough to distract for the good.
And oh boy does it have good. There's character development.
There's plot development.
The lore is actually deep and also consistent.
Bad guys exist not to just be bad and do bad stuff, they are actually characters too.
The worst part is that the story is very much incomplete.

Disclaimer: If you have a hard time with gore, sexual violence, and disturbing content, this show will be a very hard watch.
A one sentence review: "Moral greyness has never been more colorful"
This show is an easy one to misinterpret. It is about as immoral and disturbing as they come, and intentionally so. Every thing in this show is meant to highlight morality as a human construct that has no place in the world of gods. The show makes light of grotesque violence and rape by using whimsical music and colorful art. As the show progresses, the ability to root for the gods, the humans, or the demons becomes impossible. It does a great job at taking assumptions in morality many people share and systematically annihilating them for the viewer. If you finish this show and think "Wow what a p…

One of the words that could define this series quite well its insteresting and why you would ask, i mean from the begining itselft we encounter with what its gonna be an really fast-peaced series that utilize many elements seen i other shounens as well as ( think form my point of view) some of seinen series, you could find in a way some resemblance to another series from the firts episode in how its structured and narrated (i dont gonna mention which ones) but its pretty clear that has receaved inspiration and recycladed some formula that if you have more mileage in having watched many other series you could find some similarity.
Having said that, its actually not an disvantage at all i mean so many other series do the same its not like they could reinvent the wheel each time that its rel…

While this show is likely more of a 7 or 8 by my usual metrics, I couldn't escape being appalled at the absolutely tasteless way that this show handled rape. Then, on top of that, they have a pedophilia sub-plot that's played for laughs. I don't really care if this shit was in the source material, an adaptation with a whole studio behind it can use some discretion. Adaptations adapt material, after all, not copy it wholesale.
Sigh.
Anyway, if those things sound like they'll bother you too, turn back before you're too invested to quit. The story and world is quite interesting, and the contrast between the unnatural, bright colour palette and the subject matter is done with intention. There's a fundamental understanding there that the Idaten aren't really bothered by silly things like losi…

Short Review: (minor spoilers regarding certain characters)
"Idaten Deities Only Known Peace" is, in my humble opinion, an okay-ish parody/cross between Devilman Crybaby and One Punch Man. Its deconstruction of religions and traditional sense of good and evil is far from subtle, and its thematic consistency is all over the place. But if you've been secretly wanting a One Punch Man with extra ecchi and vulgarity, this show has plenty to offer.
Pros:
+ DBZ/OPM-ish ridiculous fighting scenes do leave an impression. Most of the time they are certainly entertaining and funny.
+ Decent opening song.
+ Decent twists and multi-perspective cat-and-mouse game drives the latter half of the show, keeping things interesting.
Cons:
- It's as if the show ran out of budget during early produc…

Amongst a sea of mediocre anime, Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi quickly distinguish itself.
The art is vibrant, warm and homy, while staying simple, which helps the animation team. The animation is great. Overall, the visual style was both original, creative, and really enjoyable. So many studios go lazy on drawing or animation at some point. This one doesn't. Idaten-tachi is a real show.
The opening music is awesome. I usually pass the openings, even the good ones. This one I didn't, and I even brought the sound up every time. The song has got great finesse and power, it's cranking the enjoyment level to the max. Overall musics and sound effects were great too.
The characters are pleasant to follow. Two things stood out, in my opinion :
- First, there are no good guys in that show. Both…

Aside from a great opening and ending theme, really this anime left me wanting more. I will warn, there are some rather intense scenes that aren't for everyone, but considering at it's core it's good. It's difficult to describe, but the more I watched, the more intrigued I became, wanting to know more about the world, about the deities and demons that inhabit it. It's interesting to see supernatural deities more involved in the human world, fictional or not, and it does a good job of obscuring the lines between good and evil. If you can get past some heavy themes, I do recommend it.

This is one of those shows that right from the first episode I knew exactly what it’s going to be. Humanity faces a threat, and only a small group of heroes can save them. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just that there aren't many good qualities beyond that. The plot is pretty standard. A long time ago demons walked the earth, threatening humanity. Then out of the ether spawned these deities called “Idaten.” They defeated the demons and sealed them away forever, sacrificing themselves in the process. Eight-hundred years later Rin, the granddaughter of one of the Idaten, along with other Idaten that she created, are the only ones that exist today. Since there isn’t much of a threat anymore, they pretty much neglect any training Rin tries to give them, besides one. Turns out there…

honestly a decent premis with good animation yet an unbelievably bland story execution, overall meh. needs someone to cut all the ancillary bs and actually do what the synopsis said have demons fight gods instead of having intersecting plans that are only apparent it retrospect seriously a vast majority of smart guy tm stuff is just a watsonians wet dream there's no shown pre planning we only see the end result of what the masterminds are doing. there is no real reason to watch this other than some half decent fight scenes and a kinda ok depiction of why gods would be cruel and uncaring. overall bland needed to focus on something and execute it well instead of being mediocre at a few things

Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi an underrated gem of the 2021 summer season.
It is a seinen anime because of the themes they touch, the animation and the drawing style are very good and you can see a variety of colors that we can see both the anime and the op that is very good and the best op that you hear this season of summer 2021.
At first I doubted why Miku is on the cover of the anime but later it is discovered that she is the genius of the demons against the idaten and someone very important in the story.
I wait for a confirmation of a second temp since the end of the first temp was wide open and I'm dying to know what happens next.
I recommend it?
Fuck, of course

I honestly started the series more as a joke than anything else. It was to pass time with some simple OP character BS that I always found to be my personal guilty pleasure.
But what did I get instead? A lot of vulgar and overly sexualized scenes.
I have to say this right now: I HATE fanservice. And because of that, I always assume that these kinds of stories are usually never good enough to be anything more than just another anime that revolves around erotic events to push the series forward. Those ecchi scenes usually detract from the narrative, essentially reducing it to being nothing noteworthy or special without them. However, the more I focused on the main point of this anime from a bird's-eye perspective, the more I realized the depth of what this story was trying to portray. I s…
