In Another World With My Smartphone

In Another World With My Smartphone

Introduction

In a thoughtless blunder, God accidentally strikes down Touya Mochizuki with a stray bolt of lightning! As an apology, God offers him one wish and the chance to live again in a magical fantasy world. Touya happily accepts the offer and, for his one wish, asks only to keep his smartphone with him as he begins his journey into this mysterious world. Starting over in this new world, Touya finds it is filled with magic—which he has an affinity for—and cute girls vying for his attention. These girls—the twins Linze and Elze Silhoueska, Yumina Urnea Belfast, Leen, and Yae Kokonoe—provide Touya with no end of romantic frustrations, but also companionship as he discovers the secrets of this new world. As Zamasu_Amasadu commented in his review, this anime literally seems like the materialization of a very specific fantasy: that of a boy who has never had much romantic experience and imagines what it would be like to fall into another world already being special, admired, and surrounded by interested girls. And, to be honest, this isn't exactly an isolated flaw; it's practically the basis of many modern isekai. I'm talking about Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni, a work that shamelessly embraces all possible clichés of the genre. And I say this with some authority because when I watched it for the first time, years ago, I was precisely the perfect target audience. At the time, this type of fantasy worked better for me, so I can understand why the experience was more enjoyable than it would…

When a wanna-be-funny isekai can't do its job. Story: 5 Nothing. Just... nothing here. Okay, there is some story, but it's simply too predictable and stupid. So, there's the isekai'd main character, who doesn't even know where to go, but when he arrives in the first town, he picks up a fight with the local bad guys. Why? It's clear that he's basically a walking isekai cheat skill (I think I don't have to go into details in that), but it's still a dumb idea to provoke some bandits when you don't even know your own strengths and weaknesses. This is the tendency all the way to the last episode. There are many ecchi scenes, and they are overused, but it wasn't enough for the writer: the last three episodes are a steep hill into Hell. Characters: 5 Most of them are useless, and of course, the…

I will cut straight to the case; this anime is the most literal representation of the cliches surrounding the Isekai genre. It's a story about a plain guy who died, got resurrected by God in a fantasy world with the blessing of having every power he wants, and now he gets to become the most powerful character ever in company of a huge harem of girls. You would think that the whole "smartphone" element would make a huge difference, maybe introduce something of a "fantasy meets modern technology" element, but it really doesn't, at least not too much; it is barely used, and when used, it hardly acts as a phone and more like a typical overpowered magical item.  With this said, you would think that this is a terrible anime, maybe one of the worst...but the funny thing, is that it really isn't…

In short, it's the dream of every ordinary boy who's never had a girlfriend, never kissed a girl, and lives a simple routine, to die and go to a world where he masters all magic with incredible power, being recognized as special and ending up surrounded by many girls interested in him, forming a harem of beautiful wives. The animation is good and colorful, matching the lighthearted tone of the story. The script blends romance, humor, plot, and fanservice perfectly, without seeming rushed. The characters are captivating, and Toya's wives are all adorable. One of the strengths of the work is precisely its good humor, and the group of women and characters that forms around Touya creates a fun atmosphere.

God.. the first time i watched this anime i was appalled to see the concept esp. it was during my first few weeks entering the isekai trope of course this anime has its charm of getting to do unthinkable things with your phone imbued with magic and you can get away with a lot of stuff actually since the potentials are essentially limitless. Seeing new magic getting crafted and used properly sure is exhilirating but the charm sure goes out fast when its getting hella repetitive, the harem is insufferable and the mc is also kinda plain. Overall kinda getting mixed feelings if you had much time to spend you can go and give it a try.

Yet another generic harem anime. Honestly, if it weren't for a challenge, I wouldn't have watched this to the end. There's a lot of issues with this show, but I think the main one is that it's a rugpull. "In another world with my smartphone", but the smartphone isn't even used 90% of the time. It's really just a Wattpad level competence porn. The protagonist is good at everything, can cast any spell for any situation, never runs out of mana, straight up copies Kirito's appearance, and I don't think he even gets hit in the whole show (outside gag situations where the girls smack him). On top of competence porn, it's also straight up harem. I don't even know why he stops at 4 girls. Might as well charm one or two girls every episode if you want to go there. I think I might have liked this…

In terms of story, this plot is very common, where the MC is taken to another dimension and has powers that are said to be beyond human abilities in general. and some of the characters here are quite diverse, there is Linze who is shy but becomes brave enough to express her feelings to Touya. Then there is Elze with her tsundere attitude which is easy to guess. Then there's Yue, who gets nervous easily and can't say anything when she's around Touya. and finally there is Yumina who has the mature nature of her other potential fiancés even though her mature attitude doesn't match her age haha.so in my opinion a score of 6 is quite enough for this anime

I watched both series of this, and my final opinion is, if it wasn't funny, it'd be trash. This is a harem isekai, nothing more. The title leads one to believe that the smartphone is an important part of the plot. It's really not. It provided absolutely nothing at all that couldn't have been provided by other magic mechanisms - and in fact, this proved to be the case quite conclusively when it came to the phrase units (and to avoid spoilers, I won't explain what those are, except to say that their control mechanisms were indistinguishable from modern computer interfaces.) So the smartphone was nothing but a draw. We can safely just write that out of the equation, because it didn't matter. Okay, so take that out of the equation, and you have a bog-standard ecchi/harem/comedy anime. Let's…

When you think of generic isekai, this is one of the anime that will come to mind. This show is painfully average, does every cliche that you can think of, OP protagonist, harem, everyone loves the protagonist, etc. Characters: Everyone is as plain and by the books as you can be with any generic isekai. There are some episodes where it focuses on a specific character and their backstory but even that turns out to be generic and boring. As stated before, he builds a harem because he was nice to them or they saw him being OP, and bam, harem. You have your cliches, tsundere, loli, ecchi, misunderstood moments, beach episode, the whole 9 yards. You can also tell a character's personality by how they dress and talk, and that's it for the characters. Nobody is memorable or noteworthy. Story:…

This anime isn't the worst thing ever. The story isn't good. The art and animation aren't good. The sound track isn't good. This isn't to say you shouldn't watch it. If you're looking for a show where you can just turn off your brain and just watch an anime, then this fits that category. I am a connoisseur of "bad" anime because I've run out of good anime I'd want to watch. This is one of those shows that just fills that void of "I want to watch anime but I don't really want to pay attention". Basically, it's good if you want to go braindead (in a good way).

Fan service harem isekai with solid comedy and characters. Honestly there's no depth here and it feels like a show from a previous era. I'm no fan of harem or Isekai shows in general but the characters are all reasonably well rounded and it was a good show to have on in the background while messing around on my phone. The premise, the smartphone and everything else plot-wise are irrelevant. It moves at a lightning pace to get the protagonist, whose name I can't actually remember without looking it up, set up as the hero-type with his harem. From there it largely wanders around with no particular purpose. I get the impression this is by design though. The episodes and arcs are designed to cater to Isekai and Harem show fans, and it does this well. I generally dislike both genres generall…

Well, if the story is the only one, I believe so, of course there are several other Isekai animes but the story is very beautiful; good art style I agree that it is very interesting and it is very fun too; well, the characters are complete, intriguing, fun, they are very beautiful and their clothing style is top notch, they are also strong and intelligent; Well, I always found the characters' reactions funny, right? Very good because there were moments that were reactions of shame, joy, anger, very interesting, really good; good opinion of other people, I don't know, right? Some like this type of anime, others don't like it. My opinion is that the anime is great and not bad. There are people who think that the anime needs improvement and everything else, but their opinion, right? that the…

This is the definition of complacency; however, it can be enjoyable if accepted for what it is. Story The story lacks real development and is a succession of coincidences, but this should not be seen as a negative point; it makes it really easy to follow. Art Art could be seen as a negative aspect for some people. Personally, I don't mind it; the female characters are cute, so the art style is approved. Characters The characters are flat in every way except their bodies. Final Thoughts This is far from a masterpiece or even what can be called a good anime, but I find it enjoyable. I think people should give it a try.

After finishing season 1 I'd have to say this anime is alright. At first it seems like your average basic Isekai, but with this gimmick. Surprisingly the phone didn't really have as much spotlight as I thought it would base on the title. While his phone does help him in many senses it's not his main go to thing whenever he's in danger. He just uses it on occasion which I found that interesting. The anime does focus on the relationship aspect that the character builds with others which I like. There's a small story here, but I feel it might not get much into it until season 2. Which I'm about to watch after writing this review lol. But yes this first season was a whole bunch of "thank you for helping me, here have this," in the beginning. With figuring out he can cast many abilities making…

This is the definition of a generic anime. It's like eating junk food for a full meal, you'll finish it, but you won't feel satisfied with it. The main hero is the generic dense nice guy who has girls falling in love with him for no reason other than he has a pulse. He has OP abilities. But the biggest issue to me is he has no goals, and every time he gets one, it's resolved in minutes, and usually it's because someone else did it for him. He never actually works for a single thing he gets, despite how much he gets. It's fun to watch at first, but it quickly becomes a drag. I don't want to invest time in a show where the main character has no redeeming qualities, has no goals, and despite that, it seems the world bends over backwards for him.

Really loved this anime. It has a mix of some action, comedy, and romance involved. I can't wait to see how Touya's journey will be like from seasson 2 onwards. I'll be sure to keep up with not only Touya's journey, but also all the other girls' journeys as well. There are some events that make me curious such as: what really lies for Babylon and how would Touya and the others really go about this? For the girls, I feel as if they all act the same way towards Touya in terms of feelings. Except maybe Leen, as she is a bit different from the other girls. But I believe they'll cherish each other nonetheless.

I don't usually write reviews, but here I am. A lot of you are probably wondering whether to watch this or not because of some negative reviews on this anime. But from my point of view, don't give a fuck about what they say, because this anime to me is quite good. Although the anime might be lacking aspects which make it good, as a casual anime enjoyer I would say this is a great anime. The anime is basically about a guy reincarnated to world with magic and shit, and he is basically a op character. He also brought along his smartphone. He then basically adventures around the world, gains a harem and I guess shows his power to everyone. Thats just a summary of it. Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni is more of a chill anime, it isnt an action packed anime, but overall I think its quite uniq…

Hey guys. This is a Webster here. If you like Isekai Trash with harem and comedy this is a must watch. Eminence of the shadow, Demo Academy, Slime fans need to watch this. This anime is not for everyone but goddamn if you like the genre you’re gonna love this. I was skeptical at first but I loved it after watching it. I’m not going to spoil anything but story is goated and world building is even better. All the 0’s and 1’s are people who have dropped the anime solely because they don’t like the genre. So if you do like the genre check it out. If you don’t like this genre I’d still recommend to check this out (Just don’t leave a shitty review BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE THE GENRE)

Trashy isekai harem where MC just farms girls with his OPness. There is no reason to even pretend that this could be *anything* else. There are some funny moments which made me laugh. and that's where the good points of the anime end. MC is just the usual goody two shoes guy who wants to save everyone. Ridiculously OP, but the fights/skills/magic system are just asspulls/uninteresting. Honestly, there is no point in "smartphone", because his magic can pretty much do anything already. Pretty much ALL side characters exist to be impressed by OP and nothing else. Most importantly, There is no story at all. and the characters/writing is not good enough to be called a slice of life like isekai nonbiri nouka or campfire cooking isekai. Every character can be replaced by every other character,…

I think the keynote of this show is “another day, another chick”. There is hardly any episode where our “hero” (and I use this term loosely mind You) find another girl to help or just add to his harem. But let’s rewind a bit. The story of “Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni” aka “In Another World With My Smartphone” follows another teenager that got killed and reincarnated in a magical world. The semi original twist is that he didn’t get killed by truck-kun but by God’s mistake, not gonna lie that part made me chuckle. As an apology the God sent him to a new world, gave him a boost in stats, skills and even allowed him to keep his… smartphone. Yes… out of everything he could have asked for, our protagonist wanted to keep his phone. Surprisingly Toya (that’s the name of the “hero”) is denser…
