JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)

Introduction

The year is 1868; English nobleman George Joestar and his son Jonathan become indebted to Dario Brando after being rescued from a carriage incident. What the Joestars don't realize, however, is that Dario had no intention of helping them; he believed they were dead and was trying to ransack their belongings. After Dario's death 12 years later, George—hoping to repay his debt—adopts his son, Dio. While he publicly fawns over his new father, Dio secretly plans to steal the Joestar fortune. His first step is to create a divide between George and Jonathan. By constantly outdoing his foster brother, Dio firmly makes his place in the Joestar family. But when Dio pushes Jonathan too far, Jonathan defeats him in a brawl. Years later, the two appear to be close friends to the outside world. But trouble brews again when George falls ill, as Jonathan suspects that Dio is somehow behind the incident—and it appears he has more tricks up his sleeve. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Em inglês I like Battle Tendency story more than Phantom Blood, but that's mostly because Jonathan while character is the most gentlemanly man in the history of mankind, although he's also way too innocent. Joseph is more of a chaotic little shit, and Dio is just an amazing villain. That's all I have to say.

In my opinion, Part 1 is necessary to watch in order to understand the context of future parts like Part 2 and 3, or even more. It is only 9 episodes which are not a hassle in any way to watch, and besides, it is the introduction season for the legendary villain that is Dio. Part 1 follows Jonathan Joestar as he grows up with his stepbrother and rival, Dio. A really, comically evil villain. Sometimes I'd just stop to laugh at the absurdity of his plans and of the fact that a 12 year old is represented as the pinnacle of all evil. Must've been his dad. I too would go crazy if I grew up with that guy. Anyway. The fun part is that the absurdity of Jojo is something so naturally expected, that you don't cringe at such moments. Instead, you smile at the sincerity at which all those subverted t…

You and a friend meet up in the yard to play war games: — I shot you! You're dead! — Noooo! I've got a diamond bulletproof vest! — My gun fires diamond-piercing bullets! — I have Made in Heaven and I sped up time, so while your bullet is still flying I've already lived through twenty rebirths of the universe. And in the new world I'm now the Pope with laser eyes! — While you were being reborn my Star Platinum tore you apart into molecules! ORAORAORA! — Nope, my King Crimson cut your attack out of time. You're just standing there with your arm out like an idiot! — And I activate Killer Queen. Everything you've touched has already turned into a bomb, even the ground under your feet, and you're about to blow up! — Then I flick the bomb away with The Hand, right into your underwear. You…

I got that itch to watch this show after people started to glaze SBR (Steel Ball Run) when it came out. So I just went in with completely neutral. I though I wouldn't like it because it's from 2012 and as I saw it from the clip on TikTok, it was OVER THE TOP with its character's emotions. I went in and watched this first season and I gotta say, THIS IS PEAK!! It for real made me shed a tear. WATCH TS you won't regret it!! Yes, story is predictable at times and it has some boring episodes, but the journey and likable characters make it worth it. Especially Joseph who is one of the most enjoyable characters i've ever seen in my history of watching Anime. Art style is another thing that gets hated on, but if JoJo wasn't in this art style, then there would be NO MEMES of it. Without this a…

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure season 1 was not easy to get through, the characters are boring and the plot is not very interesting. But it is necessary to watch in order to understand future seasons of the show which are much more enjoyable. After hearing so much about Dio prior to starting the show, I was very disappointed in his character as he did not live up to the praise. Jonathan Joestar is also very bland, doesn't have much of a personality but the fights are decent to watch at least. Do not let this discourage you from continuing the show, the seasons that follow are much better.

I won't give any spolers, so it will mostly be a personal opinion on the anime. I love this anime with my whole heart and I believe it is worth watching at least once. The show is great plot-wise. It is not common for an anime to pick a timeline in the 19th century and especially for it to work that well. I love how every character has thei own personality, dreams, ideas, visions of like and desires. The plot is mainly centered around fights, but it is very neat to look at character developments and relationships between different characters. The artstyle is very beautiful, music in the opening is great. This is very worth checking out and I highly recommend starting watching JoJo series from this show (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)

If I had to describe Jojos as a whole, it’s a very fun anime with distinct stands and interesting fights. So it’s very jarring to start here, because these two parts are pretty different than the rest. This Jojos is split into two main parts, one featuring the original Jojo, Jonathan Joestar and the other being Joseph Joestar. The first part is the most different, no stands, no crazy poses yet, it feels the most “generic” to me. I wouldn’t say this is a bad thing as I enjoyed it enough but there were things that held it back for me. The story was pretty cool, especially seeing Dio just try and ruin Johnathan’s life, their rivalry was pretty entertaining. Now onto the characters, when you break it down, Dio is evil just for the sake of being evil, and I like this enough. I can’t say the s…

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is a unique case where the whole series is connected, but each part is able to stand fully on its own. Some people say that the first 2 parts can be skipped, and although you definitely can skip them, I highly suggest watching them anyways. Yes, they're very different from the well-known Parts 3 and onward, but that makes them so much more special. I'd consider them a sampler of sorts for the rest of the series, as even though it doesn't have the iconic Stands, it still has the same style. It's also short enough to not be too daunting of a watch (Parts 1 and 2 combined is only a bit longer than the first half of Part 3).

You know something's wrong when you're favorite character is the Nazi that's barley in the show. I'm not sure why this anime is so praised. Characters say the same things three times in a row and never let you figure out something for yourself and always tell you how to feel. They complain that, "Now we are really doomed!!!!" and then suddenly they explain that, "Actually, Jojo thought 50 episodes in advance so he got the best of them!! Haha!" Each episode could be cut down to 10 minutes if all this ridiculous talking and explaining was just cut out. But if that were so, we'd only see new characters for 5 minutes cause they're always killed off immediately! It felt somewhat sluggish as well. Each episode felt like an hour to me. (Probably because of all that explaining.) There wasn't eno…

This is a simple bit of drama based in older Britain. It has some magic and paranormal abilities but seldom that it remains grounded in it's presentation and drama and what conflicts arise throughout the show. This makes it easier to get emotionally connected to the characters as they feel more like genuine people rather than a magical gimmick with a person connected. The fights are also grounded and alot more enjoyable and have some sense to them rather than the playground "Nuh uh, I have a counter!", the later seasons tend to display. The animation and music are very well done aswell, no complaints on that front.

After my fifth attempt i finally could finish the first season. First season jojo is meh, with some good moments, but for me most episodes where kind of boring, the powers systems were also meh, making some fights boring. About the visuals at least i can say they are different than animes/manga usually look, but still i dont love it, i think season 2 seems much more polished(I just watched ch 1), also these season seems to lack of the extremely weird/random/quirky moments that are so well know about jojos. I finished this season with the promise the next ones are the good ones, i hope stands make the fights more interesting,

It takes a bit of time to click, but once it does BOOOOM the flow kicks in. Definitely worth a watch to experience it yourself, so I’ll recommend it. Story wise, it’s not exactly unique, but the way it’s told is. The setup builds slowly and then suddenly CUE IN LOUD +12db SFX stuff happens. It’s unpredictable in a really fun way. The characters are a blast, with Joseph easily being the standout. Do they act realistically? HAHA NO. They’re over-the-top, dramatic, and way too hyped for their own good, but you know what honestly thats why it works. I also loved the music, it's one to jam to, and it really grows on you over time. I got fully invested after the Phantom Blood arc, but I’ve gotta say, Dio was a lot of fun to watch too.

i know that many people say that jojo has a horrible writting, and well, that is true, atleast for the first two parts, but is that really a problem? i don't think so, you see what makes this first part of jojo (wich i like to call hamon era) interesting is the melodrama of it, the characters here are muscular, are exagerated, have lores wich doesn't make any sense at all but are full of dramatic events, sometimes it even look like i am watching a teather show, and the fact that this series is SO dramatic makes it good, compared to other shounen mangas famous at the time that tried all their best to be seriously taken jojo never cared about it, is a parody and a reflection of what was popular at the end of the 1980s, although is not the best thing in the world this era of jojo is for sure…

As someone who’s been watching anime for years, I can say confidently: JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (2012) is one of those titles that you think you understand from screenshots and memes… until you actually sit down and watch it. And then it clicks. That said - it’s far from perfect. Especially in its early stages. Story - 7/10 This adaptation covers the first two arcs: Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. And let’s not sugarcoat it — Phantom Blood is the weaker half. The setup is basic: noble Jonathan Joestar vs his adopted evil brother Dio, set in Victorian England. It plays like a classic shounen origin story - admirable in its sincerity, but pretty dated and predictable. Jonathan is almost too virtuous to be compelling, and while Dio absolutely delivers, the story drags in places and fee…

My personal score of first season is 7/10. It wasn't bad, but it was boring. The first season consists of Part 1 and Part 2, introducing the Joestar family as the main characters: Jonathan and Joseph. I understand that the First Part—Phantom Blood— is meant to be a prologue, but the way it was presented felt too slow. There were also not many episodes in Part 1, only nine, mainly focusing on the introduction of Jonathan and Dio's rivalry and mask-vampire, which I found felt too long and slow for a prologue. It got better Part 2, Battle Tendency, at least the pacing felt right, though it didn't completly fix the boredom I felt while watching. Joseph Joestar was also more interesting than Jonathan—his character had more comedy compared to his grandfather. Some scenes also felt wrong to me…

Basically, the series can be summarized as BIG muscley men fighting other BIG muscley men. The story itself is quite simplistic and kinda dumb but the jokes, the coolness and the action scenes more than make up for it and make it really enjoyable, my only real complainant for this series is that the exposition is really blatant and, on your nose, like the characters will just yell the exposition to you and would do this even for some very basic scenes and take a really long time for it, but besides that the series is quite fun and enjoyable

I know that this is a hot take, but season 1 is so far still my favorite season of the entire series. Hear me out. To quickly sum everything up, Part 1 of Jojos is a love letter to tropes of the genre mixed with artistic western influence and beautiful works of art-fashion. I honestly believe that if you can see it for what it is and not what it becomes, it is obvious that this season is criminally underrated. Campy, tropey, a parody of itself at times, mixed with real horror elements (if you know that final fight, holy shit, you know what I mean. It makes me squeamish just thinking about it)-- and it's perfect because of it. --- When I first tried watching Jojos several years back, I was told to not start from the first season and just skip to Stardust Crusaders because Part 1 and 2 d…

About 2 months ago I started watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and I had a bad idea about it. At first I thought it was gay. That's what most people think when they start out watching anime. I watched very few short videos and they were very enjoyable and I was wondering if it was worth watching and I said yes to enjoy it and see what I haven't seen yet. But the first 4 episodes were weird. It was the first time in a while that I felt such a strange feeling. I can't say it was boring. No. It was very different and reminded me of Fist of the North Star. The same format of events and muscle movement. I was even wondering? Is JoJo just a cheap imitation of Fist of the North Star? You can say no/yes at the same time. When the first two parts came out, it was in 1987 and it's reasonable that Ar…

The first season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is quite a fun ride. At first, it felt a little too chaotic for my liking, but with time, this show will grow on you. The visual aspect of this show alone is enough to attract you, but the hilarious and wild story will keep you watching. There's not too much room for character development in this season, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You don't really grow attached to any specific characters, so you don't really need to see any character development. When you tune into this anime, all you should expect is completely unexplainable craziness. You might find that this anime moves a little slow at first, and sure, the story is a little slow-moving, but a big part of the fun of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is to just enjoy the ride. If you watch…
