Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudou (KamiKatsu) is a messy, undeniably flawed anime that still manages to be a surprisingly enjoyable watch. While it currently sits at a 5/10, it is a series built on fantastic ideas that are ultimately held back by their execution.
Let’s get the obvious out of the way: the animation is poor, and it actively hinders the viewing experience. Between the general lack of polish and the famously atrocious CGI—specifically those bizarrely rendered monsters and farm equipment that became a meme for all the wrong reasons—it can be genuinely tough to look at. Beyond the visuals, the pacing often feels rushed. While the sheer absurdity of the show is a huge draw, grounding the narrative with just a little bit of internal logic would have easily bumped up the rating.…

There are anime that make you cry, there are anime that make you think deeply and then there are anime that scream "WHAT THE FUCK AM I WATCHING"
Trying to explain Kamikatsu feels impossible because the anime sounds like it shouldn't work.
-STORY: WHAT THE HECK AM I WATCHING??!!
The story follows Yukito Urabe the son of a religious cult leader who wants nothing to do with gods or faith. After a ritual goes wrong he dies and gets transported to another world. WOW NICE A TYPICAL ISEKAI STUFF. Here's where you are wrong, In this world there's no god, no religion, and no belief. Then Yukito accidentally summons Mitama a real goddess, and the guy who spent his entire life rejecting religion now has to do the one thing he never expected CREATE A RELIGION.
- ANIMATION SO BAD THAT ITS GOOD

This anime wasn't as bad as the internet had said. The story was unique in a way. At least the background of MC, and the goal was unlike any I had seen before. It is predictable in how things will turn out whenever anything big happens, it still remained entertaining through it.
The characters themselves weren't hollow or one-minded.
And although budget cuts were visible here and there, and the cgi will definitely make people turn, but the story and premise were interesting and the plot remained entertaining, even if cliche at moments. Overall, would recommend to try it out. The jokes can get spicy, but isekai lovers can enjoy this. At least much more than other trash isekai.

Writing a review because this is another show I consider to be heavily underrated. Which is funny, because it'd only be underrated looking at the score average, because this, at the time of this writing, is overwhelmingly recommended by review count, 52 recommend against 10 not recommended.
First, the plot is interesting. It is wacky, and definitely original. That in itself isn't enough to carry a show, by nature, the plot serves better as an intrigue rather than a long term strength. Novelty wears out, and it is solely on the execution to provide merit.
The production budget, not quality, budget, is extremely bad. The cheap CGI were the most obvious. This show is not going to be a smooth eye candy, and I wished they were given more to work with.
Because the team delivered. They did th…

Quick review here,
I honestly don't know what went wrong with this anime. Maybe the source material wasn't the best, or the lack of founding, but something went terribly wrong.
For starters: the world is actually kind of interesting. Without any spoilers, I would describe it as a post-apocalyptic disztopia. The people are heavily supressed, and everything is under the emperors control. Even the thoughts of people. Such an interesting setting to use, but it got so little sceentime, it's so sad. The story is quite good as well. A power vacuum occours, and many people tries to gather themselves power via the power system of the world. However, just as the setting, the main story didn't get much time either. Not to mention the pacing, which is beyond horrible.
The characters are the point w…

Kaminaki sekai no Kamisama katsudou is unfiltered and unhinged. With loads of fan service and taboo/dark themes all while maintaining a psychotic mood. The world building is very interesting for an isekai and the story is actually unique and thought provoking. Each one of the characters are very unique and unhinged in their own way. This anime is akin to something like konosuba or prison school where there are no "normal" characters and there are constant jokes and bizarre situations or interactions. This anime plays into sexual themes in a puberty fever dream type way. It is definitely not for everyone and I can see why it has a relatively low score on MAL. BUT, If you are the type of person where fan service and dark humor doesn't bother you, then you will love this anime. World: 9. char…

It is so bad that it's good.
Very hilarious choice of animating by the studio, most people would say this anime is very ass, it have very poor quality.
That far i agree, i in fact it is horrible.
if we are talking this objectively there is some pointi wanted you to know :
1. the animation isn't consistent, most of the time it's bad, some of the time it's horrible, some of the time also very good, not in general anime standard but in this anime standard, that some good scene make you think you didn't watch the same anime
2. the story tempo is somewhat good
3. voice acting is good, sfx i already forgot you can consider it bad
the greatest point for this anime is how random it is
sometime it's comedy, sometime it's trying to be serious.
the premise is good, the character is good, the sto…

This anime takes a bit of time to really get going, but ultimately the main plot is about the protagonist, Yukito, creating a new religion in a world without religion. Yukito was originally the son of the head of a cult and died during one of their rituals. This gave him a strong dislike of gods and religion, and thus his last wish was to be reincarnated into a world without religion. His wish essentially comes true and at first he’s enjoying his new life in a godless small village. However, there are some really dark aspects to the world he’s been reincarnated into, and the only reason he survives is due to the god of the cult from his old world, Mitama, coming to save him.
Unfortunately, gods draw powers from followers, and seeing as Mitama doesn’t have any followers in the world they’r…

Kamikatsu (I’m not even sure what the full title means 😅) is one of the funniest isekai comedies I’ve watched — probably my favorite right after Konosuba.
Before anything else, I want to clarify that this review is not intended to offend, mock, or disrespect any religion or belief. This anime is meant as fictional entertainment, so please watch it with an open and mature mindset.
The story follows Urabe Yukito, who reincarnates into another world — a world without gods and without religion. This contrasts heavily with his previous life, where he came from a radical cult-like background.
Yukito dies in a darkly comedic ritual caused by his father’s extreme obsession with religious faith, which is already absurd enough 😂
It gets even crazier when Mitama, the god worshipped in his past li…

I came across KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World thanks to a random Facebook video, and I’m glad I did. This anime turned out to be lighthearted, funny, and surprisingly refreshing.
What stood out to me the most were the hilarious characters and the unique pixel-art segments sprinkled throughout the episodes. Those moments felt really creative and added a playful touch I don’t often see in other series.
The cast itself is charming and entertaining, though I personally felt that some deeper backstories could have made them even stronger. Still, their humor and energy carried the show really well.
Animation and music were solid overall, and together they supported the quirky and comedic tone of the series.
I would recommend KamiKatsu to anyone who enjoys light, bizarre comedy…

Well, this show was a journey alright. Cultist Simulator the anime is more then just the most horrendous display of CGI you've ever seen. It's got a very intresting plot story and worldbuilding. It got me very intrigued. But it's far from perfect.
The characters in this show can either be their forte or their biggest weakness depending on who you look at. I can mostly sympathize with the archons and and all their victims . But there isn't anybody i can honestly cheer on as the fights happen and plot moves along. Barely any decent human being . MC being honestly the worst offender. I can't find a single thing i like about the guy. And even if the backstory is intresting and a good pushing force for their motivations ,they've given said backstories to some of the most bland, boring and unint…

TLDR: Ugly, fan service, poorly written. Random Isekai anime with inexistant MC and huge boobs / horny womans to attract the average otaku, while everything else is empty and boring. Wouldn't recommand.
Ok so the animation is ugly / lazy most of the time, and I won't even mention the 3D stuff, but it can be fine if the story is good... right?
Yeah no, the story won't save the ugly visuals. It's boring af, ridiculous sometimes, and even if you watch it as a joke (which I did, with friends) it's still not very interesting and has a lot of censorship like they don't assume the enormous amount of fanservice they do, pretty boring for an anime talking about sex litteraly all the time.
And, about sex : it's the classical "every character with a vagina has huge boobs and wants to make out with…

Another Anime that get low review because people who are not supposed to watch this anime picked it up.
Before that. The bad part:
- MC is the typical anime loser MC that get's freaked out if a girl trys to have a sexual relationship. And Japan wonders why they have birth rate issues.
- CG and various other animations are bad. Heck, for whatever reason, they where fast forwarded ruining the enjoyment even further
- Tons of Censorship because?????? This is one of those anime that should have had nudity and more.
- Is NOT for everyone. Not everyone can enjoys this anime. To make it very easy to understand: Do you like gag humour? Do you like perverted jokes? Do you like explicit sex related scenes? If no, skip this anime.
So the good part:
- Tons of sex related jokes to the level you have…

The more adult aspects and humor is a bit refreshing to see in a series, but that's about all the positives to this anime.
Probably the most negative aspect of the whole show, is the main character, Yukito. He's pretty unlikeable. Also his character is meant to be able to play the storyline's chess game with the main antagonist, but he could literally win at any time if he weren't stubborn.
Without spoilers, he can basically have the power of God at his fingertips if he'd just do one thing, and for whatever reason it keeps being brushed aside, which to me makes him a lot less intelligent than he is supposed to be.
I watched the full season and gave it a 6. But if I were talking to someone who wanted to know if to watch, I'd tell them it's a 4 and to not waste their time

Absolutely loved this anime. The story was really good imo, great concept and made me interested the whole time watching it.
Looking past the CGI, the voice acting was top notch, the direction of scenes, funny faces, the way characters were animated(loved the character designs, and they were animated well, will definitely read the manga) and everything was great. And the fact that I'm a guy that never cared much about CGI of monsters, armies etc helped why I like this show som much(also the bad CGI complemented the whole thing in a way I can't explain).
They really delivered with the little budget that they had. One of the best truly('imo' of course).

It's a joke and it's kind of funny sometimes. This is junk food anime and if you're in the mood it'll do. I have seen much worse so at least this anime has the excuse of having very little care in the first place. I wouldn't say it's so bad it's good, but it's so bad it's almost good. I would compare this to the scary movie franchise. For that reason I doubt this show will hold up since it heavily relies on current tropes. On the other hand if you are kind of sick of current anime tropes this can be a refreshing parody. Don't go into this expecting anything other then a joke and you can't really be too disappointed.

Kamikatsu follows the son of a religious cult who is discarded in a sacrificial ceremony and is isekai’d into a medieval fantasy world with large monsters and peacekeepers dubbed ‘archons’ who keep order under the rule of the Emperor. Yukito Arabe, who as a result of his family’s cult ties is reluctant to trust in a higher existence, even when Mitama a supposed omnipotent existence graces him in a tough situation. Will he eventually grow with Mitama-sama and become a faithful follower or is all hope lost in this new world for Yukito?
Story & Character: 6/10
The story is fairly surface level when compared to many similar isekai series but what makes this one slightly more distinguishable is the significant use of religion, law and order that litter the kingdom surrounding Yukito and his vi…

The computer-generated animation, especially of the 3D monsters, stands out from the rest and is negatively surprising. The presence of rotoscoping in some parts also causes strangeness and tends to be remembered by the audience. Although high-quality animation could change this impression, the impact on the anime would be limited. This choice likely reflects a low budget, considering that the work's proposal does not demand such fluid scenes.
It's understandable to have greater tolerance with Japanese works when they address religious issues, given the poetic freedom and secular culture of Japan. However, an anime that centralizes its plot on religion and makes direct and explicit criticisms differs from works that only use religious elements or make non-generalized, subtle, and intellig…

Lets be frank. The only redeeming quality of this show is its strong story.
Other things are either just average or sucks, be it direction or character development.
The most horrendous thing about this anime is its art & animation. It just sucks. What the hell the studio was thinking with such a crappy background art, character art & worse of all CGI.
Even the animation wasn't smooth & feel off some time which is bad considering when its released. Had this animation in an anime launched in early 2000s or even 2010s, then it would make bearable but not now.
The character development is just average & direction is not great as well.
The sound department is inconsistent. Sometimes its good but other times it just lacks impact.
If not for the story itself, the show would proved to be a j…

There's moments when this really works, but there are moments when it falls VERY flat also. It feels like a rushed incomplete work with too many cooks in the kitchen. I see sparks of brilliance, but then it'll turn around and have moments of VERY poor execution. The animation will be fantastic one moment, and then very poor (especially on the lip to sound factor) the next. It's like they constantly ran out of budget or time, but aside from that were doing good work till that happened.
It could be worth visiting the source material for this anime, but the anime itself fails to live up to it's potential.
Music is good, and the voice acting is sufficient, it's just the pacing/story/animation syncing that falls down. It also seems to try just a "little" to hard to lean into the fan service…
