I wanna punch this main couple in the face over and over and over.
Holy shrimp what was wrong with me as a kid, I used to love this show and even spend my savings on the official DVD sets. I had a full collection that I ended up selling later because I wasn't really that attached to the show anymore and upon rewatching it this year I could not believe my dumbass financially supported this garbage in the first place. Last year I checked out the manga because I still had fond memories of the anime, I found it to be pretty damn awful. I thought maybe the anime improved on certain scenes and that's why I had fond memories but nah I was just blinded by nostalgia glasses.
Takumi is such an assssssssssshoooooole. Legit anytime this guy did anything I wanted to punch a hole in the wall. A massiv…

As someone who doesn't like romance and I heard a lot of praise that it is one of the best romantic anime specially from my friend, I was very optimistic, but it disappointed me greatly.
A lot of silly comedy is not believable even in serious situations. Most of the events are comical and weak.
26 episodes, many of them were boring episodes that do not serve the story. For example, instead of producing episodes that develop Usui and Misa's relationship well, or episodes about Usui or Misa's past, they produce a whole episode about Yukimori's little sister who wants to be a little princess!! And a whole episode about Usui's imaginations of imaginary and boring events!!
Also, I liked Misa's character, she is different and distinctive with her spontaneity and perseverance, but the matter d…

I really tried to like Maid-sama!, but it just didn’t work for me. People say there’s a story but honestly, where is it? It felt like a repetitive cycle of forced romance and random “funny” moments that weren’t funny at all. The characters didn’t grow, and I didn’t feel any real emotional depth.
The main relationship felt unnatural, and Misaki’s attitude got annoying fast. I don’t get the hype it was boring, and honestly felt like a waste of time.
It was honestly a hard watch. The romance felt flat and predictable, and the jokes didn’t land. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never really did.
Not for me. Just boring and overhyped. 👎

Maid Sama! is a beloved shoujo classic that brings together witty banter, opposites attract chemistry, and just the right amount of heartfelt vulnerability. Set in a former all boys school that’s recently gone co-ed, the story follows Misaki Ayuzawa, Seika High’s fierce and no nonsense student council president. She’s determined to whip the rowdy boys into shape and create a better environment for the few female students… all while secretly working part-time at a maid café to support her family.
Enter Usui Takumi, the mysterious, effortlessly cool heartthrob who discovers Misaki’s secret and decides to make her life a little more interesting. What follows is a hilarious and slow burning love story filled with playful teasing, stubborn pride, and a surprisingly deep exploration of trust, g…

I LOVE UZUI TAKUMI(this is not a confession)
From many days i was looking for a rom-com like this and my feed helped me.
A little sexualization but not too much.
After watching this i just want to read the manga as soon as i can.
Not too much typical rom-com shit.
Man hating at its peak ( lol i am just kidding) but i LOVED Uzui hehehehe.
Overall a good rom-com anime and i would definently recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good romance anime.
'll come to save you as much as you want. I'll make you fall for me as much as you wish. I'll tell you if you kiss me. The real battle starts now!"
Until then Jaane!

This one is alright.
I can't say that it's a great show, because it's not. It's fairly run of the mill in terms of a romance comedy, but sometimes that is enough. I was recommended this show through a female friend who absolutely adored it, and while it wasn't my favorite, I could see why she would love it. I recommended Toradora to her in exchange, which she enjoyed greatly. There are good gags, like the repetition of the vice student council member being a bit promiscuous and flirtatious (generally gay) after being kissed. Funny.
Aside from that? I don't really know. Not groundbreaking, not terrible. Would be good to watch if you're trying to watch some decent romcoms, but don't expect anything special. Just a good show of a generally samey variety.

I thought Maid Sama could be a potentially underappreciated work, but I was wrong. I didn't believe it was good at all. It's a romantic "comedy" that never made me laugh or smile once. I mean, if you find it funny that there's a guy who forces himself on males and females then maybe you'd like the humor. I don't even believe the humor is bad because it "aged poorly." I think the humor isn't good for its time either because I view anime that some see as off-putting like Prison School as hilarious.
Moreover, many characters in the show lack any development. They're introduced, given a short backstory, and remain static throughout the rest of the series with little screen time. However, supposedly these issues don't occur in the manga since the anime only covers 8 volumes of the manga's 18 v…

Maid Sama is a good show hands down however it does have a couple flaws but also has some good qualities too
Firstly the flaws I personally feel like this shit was a bit too long 26 episodes is a lot it probably couldn’t be done in 20. And that’s it that’s the only flaw so let’s jump to the positives
26 episodes is a lot, but all episodes were enjoyable And I didn’t find myself bored It had everything you’d want in a high school romcom With culture festivals Beach Episodes You name it it’s probably there It’s a very casual easy watch Can be enjoyed very easily.
You also have to remember that this came out 14 years ago as of the writing of this review and it still holds up It’s a shame there’s only one season no movie and I doubt we’re going to get anything and it’s 14 years old, but…

I'm not even exaggerating when I say Maid Sama was a total game-changer for me - I randomly stumbled upon it during a late-night anime binge session, and I was instantly hooked! It was like discovering a hidden treasure trove of feels, laughter, and adorable characters. Little did I know, this 2010 series would become one of my all-time favorites, and I'd still be obsessing over it years later.
Misaki and Takumi's relationship is literally the slow burn of the century, but it's so worth it. I love how the show balances humor, romance, and heartwarming moments seamlessly. And can we talk about the supporting cast?! Hinata's awkwardness is my spirit animal, and Erika's sass is everything.
What I love most about Maid Sama is its ability to make me laugh, cry, and feel all the feels. It's li…

Rewatching this at 20 years of age was definitely an experience
Everything from the plot to the characters is just kind of laughable bc of how stereotypical and genuinely cringe it was. You know, I guess there was a reason middle school me would have rated this a 10/10. Like Usui not even lowkey, but straight up stalks her lmao. How does he just always pull up at the right moment Every Single Time. And don't talk to me abt "its romantic" GET A GRIP PLEASE. Not to mention the fact that he always plays really weird jokes on her to "show her shes still a girl" under her "manly" personality. Because its def normal to kind of harass people like that as long as they blush when you do it!! Like, I just can't get behind that message at all. It really makes me wonder what grown adult truly thought…

Here we go. So it's an old anime, one might say it's nostalgic. The elements are blended well. The comedy and romance falls in place just right.
The animation is just as expected from an early 2010s anime. The characters are fun. It's an anime about usui and ayuzawa who go on living their lives as high schoolers. While usui is set on and figured out how he feels about ayuzawa, ayuzawa needs time to figure out and accept her feelings for him. The story line's good.
The only complain I have with this anime is that they beat around the bush too much. Or maybe I've been affected by the new gen romances that solely revolves around the main characters. While this anime creates a lively and vibrant world some elements like a lil bit more focus on the leads would have made this anime a lot bett…

Not worth the watch if you want a story you wont get bored with that gives you building romance. I heard a lot of good things about this anime but I just didn’t love it. Honestly I felt like there was legit no plot to this anime. If the story would have followed the MC’s and how they fell for each other that would have been fine, but this show doesn’t even execute that well. Even though the show had little moments of “spice” here and there, it wasn’t even really done right because there was no build to it so I felt nothing. The female MC is hating on the male MC almost all of the time and she is just beyond aggressively annoying to all of the other characters in this.

I watched it in Japanese and the pacing was just off the chart, swinging all over the place throughout the dialogue. The english subtitles were very poorly done and I only have N5 level japanese, so it was difficult to follow the dialogue and figure out what was actually said.
It's a show that drags on and is episodic in nature without really getting anywhere. There isn't much character development, with the characters acting the exact same way each episode, and without much variance in scenarios. It's full of tropes and doesn't do a good job at introducing any changes in behaviours because honestly, the relationships are juvenile throughout the entire series.
I wouldn't call this a romantic comedy, I would call it a toxic romance snore-fest.

Kaicho wa Maid-Sama (the President is Maid-Sama!) is a wonderful, wonderful anime. It is heartwarming, with every character doing their best to survive in the high school world -from the three idiots to the eponymous Maid-Sama aka Misaki- and there is a constant air of feelgood in the series. It is a bland of romcom, slice of life, and -sometimes farcical- comedy and it creates the balance so well. It is hard to believe it was made 14 years ago, to be honest, because it catches the dynamics of everyday life and everyday feelings so very well.
The story is sort of ordinary – there is the poor girl who has to work after school at a maid café to support her family and the rich, athletic, good-looking guy who falls for her and her constant refusal to believe that he can fall for her. However,…

The series combines elements of romance, comedy, and slice-of-life with a focus. While the premise may have familiar romantic comedy elements (basically cliche tsundere romance), the series stands out due to its engaging characters and the humor.
Certain plot developments (basically all of them) may be predictable for the viewers or at least i find them predictable, but, fans of romance, especially with a school setting, are likely to appreciate the series.
Not a fan of the art style and animation, but it totally matches this anime "vibe".
Even though im not a big fan of this genre in general, i found it pleasing to watch, overall, entertaining :)

"Kaichou Wa Maid Sama" is a delightful anime that successfully blends romance, comedy, and slice-of-life elements into an engaging and heartwarming story. The series follows the high school student council president, Misaki Ayuzawa, who maintains a strict and authoritative demeanor at school while secretly working at a maid cafe to support her family. The anime revolves around the interactions between Misaki and the handsome, enigmatic Takumi Usui, who discovers her secret.
The anime shines in its character dynamics, especially the amusing and often endearing interactions between Misaki and Usui. The chemistry between the two leads is a highlight, with their banter and slow-burning romance captivating viewers. Misaki's determination and strong-willed personality make her a compelling prot…

Overview:
Up until recent years, shoujo manga and anime have had something of a poor reputation. This is due to the fact that many people (or, at least, boys and men) tend to view them as too sappy or sentimental, or they get put-off by stories about a girl being attracted to a good-looking jerk who often abuses her. Fortunately, this is most definitely NOT the case with "Maid-Sama", to the point that at first glance, one could very likely (and many do) mistake it for a shounen. To put it simply, "Maid-Sama" is a lighthearted, very funny and often heartwarming romantic comedy that does a fine job of appealing to more than just girls.
Story (7.5/10):
The series revolves primarily around Seika High School, a once all-male high school that has recently turned co-ed. The female lead of the st…

Follow the awful not so Romantic story of Psychopath Usui Takumi as he commits several crimes in his terrifying endeavor to manipulate his way into the heart of Ayuzawa Misaki.
Takumi is the hottest smartest and most ridiculous superhunan in the world. He get's concerningly obsessed with the Heroine when he discovers her secret of working in a Maid Cafè and begins to do what any reasonable minded adolescent would do. Blackmailing her, ah yes the romantic act of blackmail who wouldn't fall in love with such a wonderful loving Psychopath. But his good romantic deeds don't end there from Stalking, Sexual harassment or being just generally someone who every sane Person would call the cops on. If this was an ero-anime or doujin this guy would definitely doing the forced naughties to the Femal…

This anime has really lovable characters in Misaki and Usui. Usui does some stuff that is literally impossible in real life like his hair and ability to pick up any girl with a snap of his finger but thats just anime I guess. Now first and foremost, the manga is a solid 9.5/10 great read. Now like many romcoms, this anime lacks in plot. But this anime in particular literally has little to no plot and every episode is misa-chan tackling problems within their world and Usui popping up to save and help her in the end while sexually harrassing her in the process (which she enjoyed A LOT quite clearly despite the tsundere outbursts). Usui gets no character development and the anime does not develop much of a plot until the last few episodes where a little more about Usui's character is revealed…

So, if you're like me and watch Rom-Com anime to just chill, you'll enjoy the majority of this anime. I'll just come right out and identify the major problem and it is the male protagonist, Usui. Not only is he legitimately a perverted, egotistical, self-centered jerk, he sexually assaults/harasses the female protagonist in almost every episode. At first, I thought he would grow, and fit to meet Misaki somewhere in the middle, but unfortunately she has to be the one who totally conforms to his vision of how a relationship should be, which in his eyes is total control, nobody else even able to LOOK at her. It's really a shame because Misaki is one of the best anime girls I've watched. I just couldn't believe my eyes when Usui didn't have to change his character one single bit from the first…
