It starts off well. It gets even better. Then you realize the MC is just a crybaby obsessed with the most detestable thing to ever happen to anime: the 'no-killing' trope. Everyone is dying, he is crying; everyone is in danger, yet he is still wallowing in his emotional breakdowns. Even watching his patheticness is infuriating. The writers went way too far trying to make it feel heavy and reflect 'real human psychology.' It's beyond terrible. Neither the MC nor the side characters hold the slightest bit of interest. Their stories wouldn't win the best backstory award in a regular kindergarten. Character development is nonexistent, absolute zero. Not a single trace of progress or change. The cliché of tying the plot to a live TV broadcast in every episode is the cherry on top. 1/10

I don't know why this one's score is so low, but i guess most people that watched this didn't really understand the philosophy behind it, especially not behind the ending.
Don't get me wrong, i do not believe in god in any way shape or form, but the premise and the ideology behind this show is amazing.
The end could've gone both ways, but they chose the one with more impact in my opinion.
What if there actually is a god, what if that god actually created the world and the humans, what if that god ceases to exist?
What if there is no god, what if god is just a human creation, what if we stop believing in that creation?
Great questions from both perspectives, and it goes even deeper than that, i just don't have the time and patience to write everything.
But to simplify it, explore the anime…

I had high expectations when I first started Platinum End, especially knowing the creators’ background — it sounded really appealing. The concept was interesting at first, and the opening episodes caught my attention. However, it quickly lost its grip on my curiosity.
The powers became repetitive after a while, and I feel the angels could have played a much bigger role. The animation is pretty average, and there’s not much noticeable character development.
One thing I absolutely have to highlight, though, is the intro — OMG, easily Top 3 of all time.
The main character honestly annoyed the hell out of me, and besides him, I had a hard time understanding the real motivation of the others. The backstories felt basic or even ridiculous at times, and there weren’t any real cliffhangers to k…

Okey, I’m not sure how to feel about this serie, but I wanted to make a review.
First I want to say that I watched the first episode when the anime was airing and it didn’t attracted me a lot, so I decided not to continue watching it. After some months, I decided to rewatch the first episode and I decided to give ir an opportunity, the animation was not bad and the story was interesting. I have not regrets, it’s a great anime.
I was surprised because of the end omg the anime because I think something similar about god and all those things. I don’t want to give spoilers, but my opinion of God is the same as the opinion of the Sensei, the scientist (I don’t remember his name, sorry)
I recommend this anime?
Well, that’s why I don’t know how to feel about the end. It’s a good anime, but if…

Platinum End, from Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata — the same duo behind the overrated Death Note — is a textbook example of wasted potential. Great premise, terrible execution. With each episode, it got worse until it reached the most stupid and awful ending I’ve ever seen — and I’m not even calling it the worst ending ever only because the show had already proven itself to be garbage throughout; that grotesque ending was almost fitting. The characters are completely devoid of charisma, and the final third is stuffed with empty, pretentious philosophy. The script tosses out ideas it never bothers to explore. If I could, I’d rate it -1.

I just finished this series and seriously it's a mind-blowing, sad and frustrating bomb all at once. I think the entire series was okay, since the characters have their own beliefs. The pacing (where the decisions kept dragging on and on and over) is pretty much realistic cuz truly, people (who wouldve been elected as a 'god candidate' would have a lot of arguments over their own opinions and such, like amongst a group of politics people probably(?). I'd like to think that the partings were reasonable, first half being about combat cuz the antagonist was more on brawns, and the second half being a battle against more on words and persuasion through beliefs, cuz the 'antagonist' was about brains. Now the concept and idea is veryyy much high in potential and honeslty i do see char developmen…

The pacing of this anime is not good. I think this whole series could have been completed in 16 episodes MAX. Most of the action happens in the first half of the series and it is drawn out with people standing around doing nothing and repeating dialogue they already communicated in 4 different ways which really puts a damper on the intensity of tense moments. The second half has less action but it has a lot of philosophical dialogue that does not lead to much more than perhaps trying to get the watcher of the anime to think about some of those topics. This philosophical dialogue does not do much to progress the story besides reinforce themes.
Overall, the series was sad, drawn out, and kind of boring yet disappointing. If the pacing was fixed, this could have been one of my favorites.

Words are not enough to describe how bad this show is. I am going to rate this show based on its Story, Scenes, and Characters.
STORY:
This review is not about the philosophical aspects like "god, existence, and humanity" that the show attempts to explore. The story structure was a complete disaster. All the characters were acting nonsensically, and the explanations for their actions were equally nonsensical. At first, the poor viewer who decides to watch this show believes there will be a reasonable explanation behind the characters' actions, but in the end, they are left with a bunch of questions like, "Why?" "What is this?" "This entire scene could have been resolved in a few seconds, but instead, I'm watching them repeat their nonsense without any motivation!"
Sometimes, giving a low…

The anime is controversial and gained great repercussion for its direct approach to suicide, but it manages to break it down better than the 13 Reasons Why series. For those who like anime with serious themes (Seinen), it is a strong recommendation, as the dialogue and the plot progress, there is a lot of talk about religion, science, social thoughts and the distorted view that society has about people who do not fit into the "ideal world". I believe that when you finish the anime, you will have a good time to think better and create your own opinions about what life represents. If you're good at picking up references from films like Ghost In the Shell, Matrix, Minority Report, Inception; You will see that the Japanese are more open to talking about truths that the mainstream media tries t…

Betwixt premise conception and concept adaptation lies a philosophical passion which exudes brilliance. With the absence of hell and demons it becomes clear that anathema can coincide with peace in empyrean domains; duality itself is part of any form of existence, creation and creators... divine or not. It can be said that this series is the most beautiful Shakespearean tragedy to ever grace a visual format. Keep in mind I haven't read the manga though, so I may not know what changes were possibly made or if anything was missing or taken out. So from this perspective my disposition is that of a naive spoiled audience with lack of knowledge on the source material. Despite that it isn't fair to say my opinion is not valid as that would be a foolish claim of privileged self congratulatory bac…

I want to preface this by saying I have not read the manga but as is clear from this review have seen the anime. I cannot state whether or not it's a faithful adaptation.
It's a fairly well made story and it has a lot of incredibly interesting and dynamic characters. I absolutely loved Nanato Mukaidou as a character. He was the epitome of a father doing everything for his family and honestly reminded me of all the good parts of my own dad. It was incredibly cathartic and his arc is truly beautiful.
There's definitely some issues when it comes to the main character however- at least in my own tastes. He's a pacifist to an extreme degree. One that is incredibly irritating as somebody who is very much different to that mentality when it comes to my taste in media. However- I do think the w…

For people who don't want to read much.
You need to be concentrated from 1st ep if you want to understand hole title, after 14th ep it will be much interesting, trust me. Also don't compare Platinum End with Death Note. Yes, authors of plot are same, but themes aren't the same. First one is Detective, Psychological and second Mythology, Psychological, Survival. So don't be mad if plot isn't same good for you. If you are under age or not familiarized with Psychological topics, don't even try to watch this titles. I could write shorter, but this way you will understand my thoughts better.
In 2020 I started to watch anime. One of the first was Death Note. First 10 eps maybe were amazing and after that I dropped with no reason, maybe because detective wasn't my taste.
When I saw announceme…

Ok so unlike most (if not everyone) who watched this, I didn't see a single episode of death note when I was watching this, I just know the characters and the "write the name of the one you want to die in the notebook" trope, so I don't really have any idea or expectation when I was watching this, there's nothing I can compared it into.
Like the other guy said, I see most people diss this just because of death note but that's not the case for me, I enjoyed it and in the first part of the series, I was seriously considering this as my anime of the year, then the second half disappointed me but I still enjoyed it, it's just that I kinda don't like the ending that's why I put this in mixed feelings even though I rated it this high.

After the terrible and untimely passing of his parents and younger brother, Mirai was forced to live with his violent uncle and aunt. Later, he makes the decision to terminate his life before being spared and granted a second opportunity by Nasse, one of the thirteen angels sent by God. She tells him that before the old God retires in nine hundred and ninety days, he must compete against twelve other God contenders. From this point on, Mirai must start again and determine whether or not his second shot at life is worth fighting for.
The characteristics of the characters were all very different from one another; some of them have been seen often yet are still vaguely recognizable in other works of media. Not too intricate nor too stale.
The music had a heavenly aspect to it while also cap…

The creators of Death Note tried to break away from their dark plot style by creating Bakuman., so here comes Platinum End. It's still dark but much less than their first masterpiece but I still consider Platinum End another masterpiece.
Because its author did not let his fear prevent him from extending his philosophy far and wide.
It's rare for an anime to be about a religion that isn't easy to understand, the creators of Platinum End deserve some praise even if they aren't the Lords. They need some breastfeeding.
By the way, the main protagonist is pretty boring to be honest, but luckily he didn't b... Xyz in the end. (Sorry but I had to censor the last words so as not to spoil.) But I am not satisfied with the ending of this anime. But it's still worth watching and thinking about.

Platinum End has nothing to say...
Platinum End is the newest work from Obata, Takeshi and Ohba, Tsugumi mostly known for Death note and Bakuman. So this series should be up to the same quality of those shows right? No, not in the slightest.
Platinum End makes me annoyed, how did it end up this bad? how did the people who created one of the best psychological thrillers also create the worst?
First lets talk about its anime adaptation before the story:
Animation: Fine...Its fine. Signal.MD animated this adaptation of Platinum End and it was mediocre. It was never poorly animated but it was never fantastic either, it was just animated. it didn't take or add anything however the only redeeming quality of Platinum End's manga was how good its art was and that amazing art isn't carried ove…

This dude caught lightning in a bottle with Death Note. After that he fell off for real. Every moment of this absolute drivel was a miserable experience. From the edgy r/athiesm discussions that lasted for episodes to the nonsensical ending, every piece of this absolute garbage was straining to get through. It got so boring, in fact, that my friends and I created an entire alternate plot in the middle of it.
Characters change intention on a whim, powers are introduced and conveniently forgotten about, everyone stands around and argues with one another while making stereo-typical anime bullshit "I thought 10 steps ahead of you". I'm sick of it, I really am. And then they let literally the least developed, most inconsequential character win at the end for absolutely no reason other than bec…

Platinum end wasn’t as bad as what people were saying. This review will not go in depth on the entire story and talk about what it does step by step because that’s too much and no one cares. People need to stop thinking that this show is death note 2.0 because it’s not. platinum end is its own story with no connection’s what’s so ever. Yes, the themes are kind of similar, but very different.
The story starts like this god is dying and needs a successor in 999 days. He sends 13 angles that symbolize certain things like purity, destruction, games, emotions and so on to Japan to find God's candidates. The candidates must be people who are willing to die by suicide since they want to make the world a better place. The concept of the story revolves around the ideas of religion heavily, but no…

If I were 14 years old, I would have probably liked this anime. I would have thought that it was very profound and interesting. But I'm older. I'm mature enough to understand that it's not.
Platinum End is the third work from the Ohba-Obata creative team, the same that gave us Death Note sixteen years ago. Yes, it has been sixteen years since Death Note has ended and has become the favourite manga and anime for people who have never read or seen other manga or anime. They also made Bakuman, but no one seem to know. Anyway, Platinum End has been considered the spiritual follower of Death Note, a definition that makes me shiver. I would actually say that Platinum End is the opposite of Death Note.
Platinum End starts with a guy named Mirai (which means "future", funny, isn't it?) that tri…

To start with. I can see why
many give it a bad score and it is of course 100% based
on peoples opinions and preferences.
I will try not to Spoil the series for others as much as possible.
I have seen many places compare Platnum End to death note. I can see that there are some similarities ... Sure.
however, I think one gets a worse experience with platnum End if you starts to watch it in the hope that it would be able to fill the shoes of death note.
the reason i think a lot of people give it a bad rating is based on the same attitude i think people have to building a sand castle...
someone enjoy the whole process of having to fetch water and collect sand, create some kind of structure.
you do not know exactly where you are going with that sand castle, but it slowly takes shape after y…
