Reincarnated as a Sword

Reincarnated as a Sword

Introduction

A nameless sword wakes up to discover he has been reincarnated from his former life as a human. With his power of telekinesis, he moves around this new world, acquiring several skills and abilities. When the sword comes upon a forest filled with monsters, he meets a young girl fleeing from a beast. Grabbing the sword, the girl easily defeats the monster. After introducing herself as Fran, she names the sword "Shishou" and officially becomes his wielder. The two set out to become adventurers, but unfortunately for Fran, she is a member of the Black Cat Tribe—a Beastkin group with a bad reputation. No member of this tribe has ever evolved into a mightier beast, but Fran plans to be the first and achieve her parents' dream. As Shishou promises to remain her sword until she attains her goal, they form an unstoppable partnership of impressive strength. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

The story starts off as your typical power fantasy isekai with all the usual status screen stuff and overall the writing stays pretty simple which makes it easy it is to digest. The pacing is solid overall and the show does a good job constantly moving forward without dragging things out too much, even if there are a few slower episodes here and there. It’s the kind of anime that’s very easy to binge and just turn your brain off to. Fran easily carries the show. She’s cute, funny, sassy and also has a more badass side with a clear goal she’s working toward, which makes her consistently entertaining to watch. Teacher is pretty overpowered but not to the point where it completely ruins the tension. The dynamic between the two is simple, but enjoyable enough to carry most of the series. The…

On beginning I was kind skeptic about where this is going but I admit its kinda fun, ideal for relax watching. Combat animation is very good, efects can be better but still very enjoyable. Mechanic of " options " in this world and same as to other anime, maybe next time make an english titules for full list, needed to googe it to know, and yes, there is some info that helps you understand. Best character for me is Amanda, but for that statment I agreed after second rewatch. Her story with saving kids and this "PTSD" with some is what making her. Next season will be soon so looking forward to it.

Reincarnated as a Sword is an isekai that is worth watching! The anime is about a man who gets sent to a fantasy world, reborn as a... sword! While the premise is, well, different from your typical isekai anime, the story itself shows to be rather interesting! We follow the sword Shishou (Teacher) who decides to become both the teacher and weapon for a cat-girl named Fran, and the two set off with the goal of evolving Fran to be the strongest Black Cat! The anime has pretty decent animation for it being a seasonal isekai, though, there are a few small times where the enemies of the show are 3D-rendered (Although it's only a small select few times). There are some great animation moments, especially during the fight scenes. The one thing I really liked about this anime was just how cute…

Overview: Stop ruining potentially good Anime by flooding it with your kinks. Premise: MC is guy in normal modern world who dies (hit by car? Don't remember, not important) and gets Isekai'd to another world. This is a "MC is aware of Isekai Anime" brand of show, so he understands the situation fairly well. He is reincarnated, however, as a Sword. A superpowerful one with all kinds of powers and abilities, as well as sight and ability to talk telekinetically. He comes into the possession of a Cat-Girl (Fran) after he frees her using one of the powers he gets from slaying a beast (all beast have crystals at their heart, their abilities are kept there, by slicing the crystal, he can absorb the power if he so desires). Fran's entire goal is to "evolve into a stronger being" something no Cat-…

If you go into this thinking "it's gonna be shit but at least the mc is cute" then the only thing you WON'T be surprised by is how the mc and the sword don't ever use 90% of their abilities even when they're super obvious, such as healing when damaged to the point of fainting when the healing skill is literally maxed out. The abilities they do use usually are illogical and not explained, and they early on and frequently use "3 skills/elements at once and without chanting" then later on suddenly she has to chant for some basic stuff and also use a "split mind" ability to use two skills in a row? At least the mc is cute, but they don't even take advantage of that part. visuals - decent audio - generic to the point of funny characters - bad writing - bad

"Reincarnated as a Sword" is what I like to consider "Isekai light", which is where the line between where a story can be considered to be within the "Isekai" genre or the more general "High Fantasy" genre IE Lord of the Rings is blurred. The reincarnation element exists in these stories, however it is only very loosely explored and not given much degree of importance, often taking a backseat to the rest of the plot. This type of writing often gives the impression that the only reason the author decided to include the reincarnation element is to make one of the characters more relatable, but otherwise you can tell that they really just wanted to write a non-Isekai fantasy so they included only the barebones. This specific anime is one where the low attention granted to the Isekai element…

The premise and execution are surprisingly good; the fight scenes are quite good, the jokes land well and the animation is gorgeous. In general Tensei shitara Ken deshita is a lighthearted fun experience, something to turn your brain off and enjoy some action + comedy, and I find the comedy notably funny. That being said, Tensei is not perfect. There are lots of expositive dialogues, and the presentation is very lacking. What I mean by that is that the story is fun and interesting, but it is presented quite poorly in regards to the storyboarding. 1st example of poor presentation: The show starts with a scene that, in chronological order, is the post-climax scene from the end of the same first episode. In this scene, the viewer is greeted with an expositive useless monologue by a narrator…

Seeing as Reincarnated as a Sword is effectively a shitty rip-off of the Reincarnated as a Slime concept, it makes for a surprisingly easy recommendation. Just answer the following prompts: 1.) Have you seen Slime? -> Yes. -> Did you enjoy Slime? -> Yes. -> Then you will probably enjoy Sword. 2.) Have you seen Slime? -> Yes. -> Did you enjoy Slime? -> No. -> Then you will probably not enjoy Sword. 3.) Have you seen Slime? -> No. -> In that case, just watch Slime first, then refer back to prompts 1 and 2. It’s really not any more complicated than that. The isekai genre has become oversaturated to the point that authors are now having their protagonists reincarnate as various objects and what have you in an attempt to keep the genre fresh – attempt being the operative word. There’s even on…

I thought this was promising adaptation of a story I enjoyed as a manga. However, I think it stayed too much in the starter town and left us a glimpse of the next arc to tease us. At least it isn't just a single season advertisement for the light novel. It actually has a second season. But it may have dragged its introductory arc too long to interest me for the next season. The animation is mid, but at least the staff was able to maximize it for the storytelling. Fran is likeable as a character, and I enjoy the running joke that the eponymous sword dotes on her too much, but I would really like to see the next adventure where the duo is tested to the limits. However, the pace for season one may have already soured me for season two.

It was okay, decent animation for what the show is to be perfectly honest. I dont know if I would really reccommend it to anyone, but if you need time to kill because youre travelling or something along the lines, this is pretty middle of the road "OK". As far as I remember when I watched it, there was NO ecchi weirdo shit which I know isn't a lot to praise for, but I'm really grateful for because the main girl literally looks like a child. The final fight was pretty fun as well even if it was predictable. If they did make a season 2, I'd probably give it a watch just for how fun it is. It knows what it is, doesn't try to be super complex and that it's predictable (in some isekai over-powered protag except it's a sword) ways, but that's beyond fine since I wasn't expecting much to begin…

Overall: Ah yes, a guy got Isekai into a fantasy world.... as a sword. As an isekai junkie, I am set to watch all isekai. This is one of those that explore the trope. This is a hard one to review as it is a bit of a mixed feeling. Let's say that I personally don't recommend it for my usual isekai enjoyer friends. But for a newer watcher, I would recommend. Short conclusion: 6.75/10 Driving deeper Art: Pretty good, the fight scene is well-animated. The action sequences are pretty nice. And is slightly above average in term of its beauty. 7.5/10 Character: I think this is the main problem, Flan is a good character with a decently interesting backstory. Our MC on the other hand, doesn't do much, he's kinda just be here.... saying things and teaching Flan. Theres little to no character dev…

Another generic isekai in a JRPG video game world. In this case, the protagonist is the sword itself while the deuteragonist is its wielder, a catgirl child named Fran. Most of the JRPG isekai tropes are there, like the video game world, the disembodied voice of the all-knowing tutorial, cheat OP abilities, blatant racism and classism, cartoonish levels of discrimination and slavery, medieval european fantasy setting, you get the point. The sword is the standard level of isekai OP, being able to unfailingly obtain any magic ability and skill from anyone, equip and use any skill and magic unencumbered, gather enormous amounts of experience from simple encounters to max out any stat, and share them all (along with massive stat boosts) with his wielder WHO DOESN'T NEED TO DO ANYTHING, EARN…

Beautiful anime, lovable main character, kind and wholesome fantasy setting, just how I like it. Predictable events but it has a charm to draw you in regardless. Had everything a basic fantasy anime requires, with a decent power scaling. Art style and animations were great too. Lovable characters very generic for the genre. Well integrated characters reacted in a realistic way to the events. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Am a sucker for fantasy there is something about this genre I cannot get enough of. I try to find the special something which draws me in towards these fantasy adventure themes. No matter how basic or over the top the story is, I keep coming back to it and never gone back disappointed. Would definitely recommend it.

Fran is too cute. Overall, it's a wholesome isekai so far... sure many are discriminatory towards black cats, and Fran is a black cat... but the sword has such a nice relationship with her. He's like an older brother or something, it's so cute! Alright, since that review was too short to post I have to add things now. All I really wanted to say was that it's wholesome and Fran is adorable but here goes: It's a non-pervy isekai! How exciting! Obvi: some guy dies and is reincarnated as a sword, but it doesn't seem to be some weird perv otaku like in many other isekai. Sadly, this is a fresh take on isekai anime. During the first season of Reincarnated as a Sword we see Fran start on her journey for power. She simply wants to show the world that she can be strong. That she IS strong! Sh…

Surprisingly, the isekaied sword isn't actually the lead character for most of the story. The story is told from his perspective, but the plot itself is about Fran; the sword is content to serve Fran's wishes and pretends to be nonsentient when others are watching. But Fran being treated as the lead character is exactly what makes this series so good. She's a solidly-written character, and turns what would otherwise be an isekai power trip into a genuine and heartwarming rise of a hero. Her youthful innocence belies a level of bravery, ferocity, and cunning that even her sword is in awe of; yet the writing doesn't forget that Fran is still a child, emotional and dependent on others. The combination makes for easily one of the best protagonists of a fantasy story, one who manages to feel c…

Animation overall is slightly above average. Action scenes are sufficiently fluid, but not terribly impressive. Character detail and backgrounds are mostly average, but at the very least the backgrounds are of decent quality even during scenes where studios usually pay less attention to them(action scenes). Characters have some depth, but not a lot. Some of them are likeable, but we really never try to dive very deep into any characters. The story is fairly average in quaity. Some unique elements(gimmicks), but still somewhat derivative. There is some world building, but not a ton. Pacing is fairly decent, there are a couple of slow moments, but not very often. Plot moves along at a decent pace, but doesn't try to dump information on the viewer to facilitae that(with the exception of the f…

This anime does almost nothing original. In fact, it would be difficult for me to point to a moment where a trope or cliche is not present. That being said, the two main characters are very likeable, and their (metaphorical) journey is a satisfying one. If a wholesome story about a cute cat girl and her sentient sword is what you're looking for, and you don't mind a predictable and cliche story with tropey side characters, then I think you'll enjoy this anime. --- END REVIEW --- This is extra text to meet MAL's misguided minimum review length requirement. If you're going to have a minimum length requirement, at least tell me what it is so that I know how long it needs to be.

It was a very entertaining series. I had a lot of fun watching it. The animation quality of this kind of series has been very low lately. It's nice to see an adaptation of this quality. The dynamic between Fran and Shishou was very good throughout the season. The character of Amanda added a very nice touch. I would love to see Fran evolve. The story is also very nice. The first episode was a good introduction. After that, Fran and Shishou's attachment to each other increases. They ended the season in the best place. Now we will see new adventures and new characters. This will keep the series more fresh. As you can see from the last scene and the ending, the series will continue. I'm looking forward to season 2.

I wholeheartedly loved this anime. I found myself emotionally and excitedly rooting for Fran. The rollercoaster of emotions you have watching her quest to evolve leaves you satisfied. It's a must-watch!! That said.... I highly recommend only watching the sub. I couldn't stand the English voice actor's work of this. Almost emotionless, like it was their first time doing VO work, and recorded themselves reading the script for the very first time. They brought absolutely nothing to the characters. Not to mention the character 'Fran' is I think a 12-year-old girl and the VA sounds like she's 25!! The voices do not match the characters at all. If you watch it dubbed, you'll probably end up dropping this anime. The Japanese VA's did an absolute outstanding job.

I dont know why others scored this really low Personally I scored this a 9 since I really liked it. But for the sake of a general score I would give it a 7.5. Firstly, sure its another isekai anime, as it tries to be different in a way that the person got reincarnated as a sword, it still has the tropes of being overpowered. Secondly personally I think Fran technically is the main character while "teacher" the sword is a side character which helps the growth of fran, regards with her character and being an adventurer Third I think the story is actually really good although as I said, it has tropes from other isekai anime's, such as op mc and other op side characters. The story it self however actually is a bit deep, as it tries to be cute the backstory of fran is actually a bit dark an…
