I want to do a retrospective review on this, not because it is good, but for the catharsis of reviewing a fun trash isekai
This as a series is so average and so generic that it is not worth writing home about, it has all the tropes, it has our OP MC who is a Kirito clone right down to the casting of Yoshitsugu, you can imagine the conversations around it.
Things tend to play out like you would expect, Celia is best girl, there really is very little that can be said about it, which is probably why I never tried to review it before.
The story is lacking in complexity, MC is isekai'd turns out later he's not the only one, the story starts with him living in the slums, he rescues as princess, as a reward he is enrolled at a school where he learns about magic and how to use a sword, everything…

Ngl I started this expecting another generic isekai harem and ended up binging the 2 seasons in two days. The MC is actually chill and mature instead of screaming every episode, and the emotional parts hit way harder than I expected. There’s a surprisingly good balance between action, character moments, and worldbuilding.
Also the character designs are genuinely beautiful. A lot of fantasy anime just throw random flashy outfits together, but here almost every character looks memorable and fits the vibe of the world really well.
The harem also feels different here compared to most fantasy anime. It’s less about nonstop fanservice and more about characters naturally growing attached to the MC because of the kind of person he is. The relationships feel calmer and more genuine instead of jus…

Good anime, better light novels
I rated this 8/10 because when I watched it I did enjoy it enough to get into the light novels, but after reading the light novels, I might lower that rating to like 6 or 7.
The setup is fairly typical of isekais and fantasy animes in general, truck-kun does some work in the first 10 minutes of the anime, of course. The key things that made me enjoy this one over others were the level of ambition and the characters. The main character is very likable, but he's not perfect and not entirely OP. He also definitely faces setbacks and adversities that are not immediately solved with power. There is a mix of trope-y clearly good and clearly bad side characters, but there are also a few that are in the middle. Next, **the level of ambition is very high**. The wor…

Spirit Chronicles Season 1 is a fascinating blend of fantasy, drama, and emotional storytelling. The anime introduces us to Haruto Amakawa, who is reborn as Rio in another world, creating a deep and mysterious connection between his past and present lives.
The story is filled with character development, beautiful world-building, and powerful emotional moments. Rio’s journey from a poor boy to a skilled warrior is both inspiring and heartfelt. The anime also explores themes of revenge, destiny, and hope, keeping viewers engaged from start to finish.
The animation quality is good, especially during battle scenes, and the soundtrack perfectly fits the mood — enhancing both the action and the emotional moments.
Overall, Spirit Chronicles Season 1 may start slowly, but it builds into a story…

I honestly went into Spirit Chronicles with pretty low expectations because of how oversaturated the isekai genre has become. Most of the time you see the same formula on repeat with the main character surrounded by a harem and loyalty thrown out the window. This series surprised me in the best way.
The thing that stayed with me most was Rio himself. He felt refreshingly different. His loyalty to his childhood friend, the girl he promised to marry, became the emotional anchor of the whole show for me. Even after dying and reincarnating in another world he never once forgot her. That quiet sense of devotion stayed constant despite all the temptations and feelings other girls had for him. He does not play around or give false hope, he rejects them respectfully and keeps his heart steady. Th…

This show feels somewhat mundane in its presentation. The first episode is by far the darkest of this season, and as a product this show is unfinished and leaves a lot to be desired. However as a smaller part of a longer story, it is likely that this show will be viewed as a somewhat solid Isekai, assuming the ending is not completely bunked. There are always better shows, but this product essentially serves as the complete Isekai trope slop-fest concentrated into a somewhat respectable presentation. There are minor issues with pacing and story structure, it seems to linger in certain settings while also feeling fresh by changing things up so frequently, however this ultimately just makes the viewing experience feel more authentic and unique. If you are at all interested in consuming Iseka…

I am torn. Really i am torn. This anime is all over the place story-wise. Slight spoilers so i can actually make an argument really.
Well... The world building is allright i suppose,it's just coherent enough so i don't have a stroke... The story... Full of cliches, all of them used in the worst ways possible honestly. Especially the ones revolving around the MC. The MC.... Dollar store Kirito. Whatever complaints you had about Kirito as a character this guy is the embodiment of those. It's even the same voice actor for gods sake... They GAVE HIM THE DAMN BLACK JACKET.... At lest in SAO it wasn't so out of place.... but where this guy goes and wears it... it stands out like a sore thumb. Glad he also got that sword from the elder to use 2 random knives in the finale by the way.... Honestl…

If you are the type who use their brain, you will see tons and tons of very questionable situations, because clearly the story was made to make things look good and not well though out.
Anyone who is a bad person: uses their brain and their connections
Anyone who is a good person, including the people who are powerful and have social power: … for whatever reason they are all not doing anything, just sacrificing themself, until MC rescue them, just to ensure to not bother anyone, neither MC nor the bad people, and of course, they don't use their brain, they don't use their connection (including not asking MC for help), and their statues or whatever they have earned is non existing. Everything is solved by MC. And any character growth is: character has issues, can't do anything so just sit…

I'll just get straight to the point, this is what someone can consider a thrash isekai plot, BUT, it has its moments, not enough tho to warrant it to be special... as it still likes to go strong on the generic isekai thrash plot moments.
So is it at least a good thrash isekai? Yes, I would say so. It has a bit of a different approach to the isekai genre, so without spoiling anything, I can say you're gonna be intrigued about the decisions the characters do/take, especially the MC. But unfortunately, you won't be that surprised, as even if at certain points in the story you might see interesting things that can develop very nicely, you'll instantly be reminded that it just likes to go onto the generic plot.
The plot seems to have some depth to it, but alas, it is an anime, and I am not su…

Okay, First of all, My review is one Positive review, so haters gonna hate but..
When you start this anime you dont know what to expect, the low score says that its mediocre and a lot of the reviews are negative, but this anime actually kicked ass going trough all of the episodes.
Rio at first glance you would say he is a Kirito wannabe, but the truth is that his voice actor is the same so yeah thats that.
He is quite the overpowered MC and this could be a good or bad thing depending on the Person watching this series, but he wont dissapoint.
Celia reminds me of Sistine from Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor, She has a well rounded character and her smile is just the making of a good waifu.
Latifa is really addorable and has a way of making you smile with everything she does o…

I love this series. Let me preface by saying. I am a Fantasy Isekai fan. I know it has all the clichés except for 1 (I can't say whichone it doesn't without spoilers so I won't say). Hear me out... This author managed to use all the clichés and still create characters with depth. Of course they also have their one-dimensional quirks but they have a backstory that helps you understand and relate to those quirks.
I thought's we'd never get S2 after all the good anime that I have left unresolved in my life... So I got the Light Novels. It's only the 3rd anime I ever do that for. I absolutely recommend you get the LN because you'll be in for a treat if you like the anime.

Average, inoffensive, unassuming, unimpressive. If I could summarize everything, my reaction to this entire show is the neutral face emoji. This isn't a show that just tapes together 60 isekai tropes and calls it a day, but it also never rises above that level of quality. When I finished watching Spirit Chronicles, I wasn't annoyed like when I watch something bad. I also wasn't in a good mood either. I left just like I came, forgetting everything an hour later. In fact, I had to rewatch it just to remember what happened.
The plot was a little boring, but not insulting or painful to watch. It just had nothing impressive about it whatsoever. It is the usual formula of: Rio (MC) is secretly cool --> Hogwarts for nobility --> discrimination against Rio for being a peasant featuring the nobles…

I don't care about your opinions, especially those who don't recommend this anime, because I also sometimes don't recommend anime that I think are bad!
Overall, I think this anime is good and I'm really looking forward to the continuation of the story.
I will review some of the advantages here:
1. An MC who is strong, not naive, can be relied on, and especially not late in taking action, the MC I hate the most is strong but stupid and hesitant to take action.
2. The graphics and character design are good, in my opinion everything is well done, there are no flaws or use of 3D CGI which is not pleasing to the eye, lots of beautiful girls to feast the eyes on.
3. The opening and closing songs are good, but I prefer the closing songs, there are quite a few anime products that don't really ca…

It's crazy how people think this is actually good, they clearly never watched actual good anime, you can see right away that this came out of a low quality manga.
I'll make this quick: low budget and limited OST, low tier animation (i don't mind tbh), low effort making the story hence screaming with cliché, 0 to nothing character development (i wouldn't expect much from a isekai doe), all girls have the same annoying loli voice, they forgot to add logic and emotions to the characters, mc saves everyone (girls) without coming up with any plan, basically superman without kryptonite, 0 thrill, 0 story, 0 comedy, 0 sense? The only good part is when it ends.
In the end i've wasted my time and possibly wasting my time typing this but hopefully someone will read this and think twice before watc…

It is good, reminiscent of Mushoku tensei buuuuut worse in pretty much every single way. But still it is good
University student gets trucked into the body of a 6 year old orphan. He soon after gets superpowers and goes to the local academy. I don't personally quite understand why every isekai character has to attend school, it is the middle ages my dude nobody was attending school. The kids behavior is also totally weird 8 year olds acting like high schoolers it just doesn't make much sense. "You are sullying the name of this fine institution with your baseless slander" 8 year old kid says that??? You know what a 8 year old kid would actually say? "PEE PEE POO POO! FORTNITE!" Weird behaviors from characters in this show. Latifa is mentally 18 years old by this point so why does she act l…

What a breath of fresh air to have a protagonist that doesn't scream at every turn of events! Also, a good voice selection for the English Dub. I dislike it when they use women to do men/boys voices. Is it so hard to find a male voice actor?
The anime actually has a plot line and moves at a good pace. Moreover and more importantly is that the show doesn't rely on stupid slapstick to entice the audience nor is there a need for absurd sexual content and the characters are interesting and fit the narrative.
I won't rate style or art as that's not my concern, though it seemed good to me.
I can only say after watching dozens of crap anime recently that this one was fun for me to watch. I hope to find more that are likewise not stupid slapstick crap with screaming characters that only annoy m…

tl;dr: An isekai that has a lot of good aspects though it doesn’t quite come together all that well until the final arc.
Seirei Gensouki is an isekai that’s using a lot of the same tropes as most other isekai, but it has a very different feel to most of them for two reasons. The first is due to how it’s structured. The first three of it’s four arcs are all incredibly distinct from one another. They feature the protagonist, Rio, in different phases of his life, in different regions, and with a completely different set of supporting characters. It’s pretty standard for an isekai protagonist to be part of a party so not really even having one constant companion is obviously a major change.
But this isn’t the story of the journey of a loner either. Rather, Rio ends up staying at least a year…

I honestly don’t ever leave reviews but seeing so many people are saying how much they hated it really shocked me, this is definitely one of my top 5 shows now and I was hesitant to even try it because of the reviews. I usually stick with slice of life stuff because I’m not a fan of crazy thriller action stuff but this checked all the boxes for me, I will admit the last few episodes seemed to dull down a bit but I know for a fact season two will make up for it and be great as well. Overall if your looking to kill some time with a heart warming hero story then I’d recommend this.

All I can say about the anime is it is very cliche, you definitely seen some of the most common plot and troupes in anime and yes, they are all *almost* here. Some of the examples are being reincarnated by "train-kun", being the lowest status and getting bullied by royalties, cute girls, op mc and many more.
If you don't like that then you definitely shouldn't watch the show but (very bias opinion coming), my take on this one is I personally enjoyed it. It's pretty fun and it's called fantasy for a reason, maybe it has overused troupes but it definitely has a good story and characters. Will recommend to watch it if you have some time to kill.

If you're looking for a high-quality, thought-provoking anime that will leave you feeling intellectually fulfilled, then Serei Gensouki is definitely not for you. This show is the trashiest of trash, and I mean that in the best possible way.
From the awful animation to the nonsensical plot, Serei Gensouki is a hot mess of epic proportions. The characters are all one-dimensional caricatures, and the dialogue is cringeworthy at best. But somehow, despite all of its flaws, I couldn't NOT look away every 5 minutes. I was so mesmerized by the trainwreck unfolding before me that I just had to keep watching.
In conclusion, Serei Gensouki is a must-watch for anyone who loves terrible anime. It's the perfect blend of trashy goodness and pure entertainment. 10/10 would recommend to all trash afici…
