AVOID AT ALL COST.
This show is terrible on all fronts. There is not one aspect of this show that can be used to argue in favor of this show. Its horrendous. This show makes no sense at all; either the writer must have been severely intoxicated making this or they are actually 7 years old. The MC is op, and his powers actually dont make any sense, like his physical enhancement magic which he decided to start using out of fucking nowhere, I thought he wasn't able to use any magic at first????? And there is a certain scene where a big ass nuclear beam gets shot at some person head on and in the next scene its shows a stab wound and a few scratches and they die. One, where the fuck did the stab wound come from???? And two, how the fuck are they not disintegrated????
Overall, this show is bo…

The characters, art style, voice acting, and general aesthetic of this anime series are quite appealing on the surface. The core narrative also holds significant intrigue and entertainment value. However, several aspects of the show detract from its overall experience. The frequent instances where situations are led into without proper build-up can be frustrating, and certain elements result in cringe-worthy moments that make it difficult to fully engage with the series. Additionally, the poorly constructed conflicts and their resolutions leave a lasting impression of being underwhelming. Overall, while there are enjoyable elements, these flaws make it hard to recommend this series without hesitation.

"Isekai Cheat Magician" is yet another entry in the overcrowded sea of Isekai anime, but it does little to add to the genre. From its generic, cliché storyline to its awful execution, this anime feels more like a lazy shitpost than a show worth the time you’ll never get back watching it.
The story and characters are as generic as they come, featuring some of the most unlikable protagonists to ever exist. This is the epitome of a terrible Isekai anime and should be avoided if you value your free time and self-worth. It probably has the worst pacing of any Isekai I’ve seen—and I’ve seen a lot.
I don’t know how they managed to fail so spectacularly at making this show, but they did, and the pacing is downright atrocious. The two main characters have less personality than a wet piece of card…

One of the least interesting isekai I've seen in a while. It does have 2 people getting isekai'd instead of one, but the girl that goes along, Rin, is a background character too
- Like I said, characters were very boring 3/10
- Music was average & art was average 5/10
- The plot wasn't that interesting either, just like the world 5/10
- The magic system is kinda interesting 7/10
Biggest problem here is, like I graded, the characters. What makes me want to watch an isekai is an interesting character coming into contact with an interesting world. And this one just doesn't have either of them

Let me start by saying that an anime can be objectively bad and still be enjoyable. Isekai Cheat Magician is not one such anime.
This show is like you asked Chat GPT to write you an isekai anime, took it's result and ran it through an out of touch board of directors. This show falls under every trope an op mc isekai show can and does them with absolute seriousness. This show takes itself far too seriously for an idea that has been done a thousand times and has nothing to add to it. Adding a rom-com trope of "childhood friend" to your isekai anime is not making a cool new original idea. But the show would like you to believe that. I could go on about how the character design is bland, and the animation is weak but I think those critiques are irrelevant. If the story isn't one worth tellin…

Isekai Cheat Magician is best described by a string of 48 vomit emojis, and the word “mid”.
I’m as big an isekai junkie as anyone, and it still took me over a year to get through these 12 episodes. I’m not even going to bother snagging a free MAL entry by watching the extra episode that aired with the rebroadcast (because this was somehow broadcasted on Japanese TV twice).
The general understanding of Cheat Magician is that it’s generic garbage, but that undersells just how difficult it is to sit through. It is front to back boring, nothing it attempts works. There aren’t even any insane plot twists, it's difficult to understand how the human mind can produce writing this unimaginative. The horrible art and animation compound all the resulting boredom.
The OP is by Myth & Roid, a band t…

I have watched something like 500 anime in the past 7 years. I can enjoy nearly anything even if it's absolute trash, ESPECIALLY if it's absolute trash. Isekai in particular tickle my fancy, no matter how bland the storytelling or subpar the plot and worldbuilding. This series is, without a doubt, the worst I have ever witnessed by a ridiculous margin. I have never seen such lazy storytelling in my life, and the characters could not be more shallow even if that were the intent.
But that isn't even the problem, nor is the issue that it follows every isekai trope possible. There are two major downfalls. The first is that it can't even do its tropes properly. The MCs are supposedly super overpowered, yet they don't seem to ever really utilize those powers, and nobody really reacts to them i…

This is a probably the most generic Isekai anime I've ever seen. Overpowered MC, Harem of girls that love him, generic fantasy world. All Check. If it did any of these things in a more interesting way, it'd be alright, but it really doesn't.
The premise of the MC getting transported to a world with their childhood friend is an interesting start, but it doesn't change anything. She's just another girl in the harem.
The biggest issue, is just that the show is kind of boring. There's a lot of characters and exposition, so nothing feels really dynamic or developed by the end. It just kind of plods along.
The only thing I think they did in an interesting way was showing how the magic system worked with how the Childhood Friend develops her magic abilities. She visualizes the magic in a scien…

Ok think of the most generic Isekai possible, now imagine it being 5x more generic than that and you got this anime. This show does literally nothing new when compared to prior Isekai shows. The plotline is so bog-standard that even I someone who "occasionally" enjoys a trashy Isekai plot was completely bored out of my mind. This show possesses characters that are mediocre at best, and a plotline that is so obvious you can probably guess the end of the season by episode one. I made sure to watch through the entire show to see if it ended up doing a 180 like some shows have in the past but nope! This show is basic and uninspired to its very core. I would highly recommend that you steer clear away from this show unless you somehow have literally nothing better to do with your time.

Gretchen, stop trying to make "cheat" happen. It's not going to happen.
To say this show is just a lazy attempt to cash in on the success of other much better isekai is an understatement. There have only been a handful of series in this genre that haven't been utter garbage, but every time one of them does well it's ultimately detrimental because it leads to executives green lighting a bunch of shows like this one. I don't think they even expect any of them to be a success, they're just throwing a bunch of mediocre isekai out there to see if any of them stick.
Just being boring would have been bad enough but they outdid themselves making the protagonist as unlikable and obnoxious as they possibly could, so that by the end of it it felt like the show was actively trying to make me angry.…

The story revolves around the MC having 120,000 magical capacity (10,000 for ordinary people) and he choose to fight melee with it (his ranged skills are from the spirit) - he can't even protect a waifu (Anastasia). To mention, he chose to just put a hole in front of a magician army to make them unable to "pass" -- like, dude, they're wearing magician robes, what do you expect? And in the end, several of this allied army were killed.
If we're going to compare who's dumber, this guy or the Rosario + Vampire MC, this guy takes the throne. Which makes me think: does this character reflect the writer's personality? 'Coz if it does, all I can say is that the writer is a highschool wimp.

Skip to last paragraph for actual review. Below is my rant about complaints.
I see all these reviews about how this is copy paste of others and watching I really can't see it. Sure, it follows tropes and is an Isekai which is a hard to differentiate genre nowadays but this accusation of character, world and story design being copied is unfounded. I have seen just about every Isekai from 1980 to now and on originality it ranks around the 60-70% mark compared to those. It isn't a varying genre but you can't rightly say these characters or world or story aren't original. That's like saying that Game of Thrones is a carbon copy of Lord of the Rings. Stop expecting your idea of originality when you clearly just want a new genre. This show is far from perfect but it's on par with nearly every o…

the opening is the only exceptional thing about this show, everything else you have already seen before and i would only recommend this if you just want to laugh at how generic it is,granted, there are people that probably really love this, but im just not one of them,i feel like eating cotton candy, its fine but im not getting much from it.
this couldve been a little better if they had the same animation quailty as the opening
but for some reason that didint happen, maybe because they were trying to make a quick buck which is sad,but i can understand,o,also, spoiler spoiler
that fairy said that the mc could only use her powers if he ordered her to,but why didnt she tell him that from episode 1,and she puts up a barrier in a random episode when she said she couldnt do anything without his per…

An intriguing, but generic story, coated with commonly used tropes in shonen action anime, as well as cheesy dialogue that tries to sound sentimental.
Still, I don't understand such a low rating for this anime, as it fulfills the most important metric for non-educational entertainment: it is fun to watch (at least on 1.25 speed). If you watch something to criticize it, without even being a critic and getting paid for it, you take the fun out of your life.
Despite just sticking together common isekai and fantasy elements to a nice, but also generic story, the resulting collage became actually fun and entertaining to watch. The animation is mediocre, but still quite above the minimum threshhold of 'watchable', sound and music are ok, so these 2 factors don't compromise enjoyment, nor enh…

I don't generally write review but well after watching this series i felt like i should, first of all the use of the word cheat makes the whole story cheap plus when the main character is using it all the time even more so it seems cheap, the story should focus more on the development of character and accepting his responsibility its not like he can't be defeated, he has no idea what real cheat is like, compared to other isekai protagonist he is like a pebble so talking about his power like cheat as of he is some omnipotent being in that world is just ridiculous.

Probably the most generic, cliched isekai ever aired. Truly the peak of the isekai trope, in the worst way possible. Calling it the trashiest isekai ever wouldnt be fair to that smartphone isekai, but its definitely up there atop the giant pile of trash. If i was to sum it up as short as possible, then it'd go something like this: Just painfully average Art wise I guess the anime gets a pass, its not hard to look at, but thats about it. It doesnt "shine" in any way, and never has any truly great moment, though I guess it also doesn't have any truly bad ones, so that might be the trade-off. Character wise it's just bland, at no point did i feel as though the characters surprised me. They were simply too predictable, and although the anime tries to play to their supposed character developmen…

I gotta be honest with you: I love watching movies and TV shows long after their respective hype trains and hate bandwagons have departed from their stations. I don't like watching TV shows when those are still ongoing because I want to do a holistic analysis of what I just watched. I'm perfectly aware that Isekai Cheat Magician didn't leave a good impression on viewers when it first premiered, but I decided to give it a chance because, well, I'm as casual as an anime fan can get.
Story
At its core, Isekai Cheat Magician is a pretty basic story about a guy being summoned to another world and becoming a great hero. The twist this show offers is that the guy brings a girl with him and they both become powerhouses. Of course, the guy gets the lion's share of power and screentime because the…

This has to be the best example of a trash isekai out there. But lets ignore that literally everything this show has to offer is generic without a single bit of originality. It feels like not a single person involved in the production of this anime gave a shit. If you had an AI create anime, this would be the end result. Bad story, bad animation, bad action ect. Are people just that lazy? Do they think we wont notice? But wait, they actually got Myth and Roid to do the opening for this piece of shit, and without a doubt this has to be the worst song they have ever created. As I said, it feels like everyone involved in the creation of this anime just did the bare minimum to get paid, and it really shows.

I would describe this show as "run of the mill". It's not good. It's not bad. It's like the author tried to make the safest isekai story they possibly good. Put some harem in there. Put a forgettable male protagonist in there that viewers can project themselves over. It's the definition of average.
I thought I liked this show a lot at first. I thought it would surprise me with the story developments and character types. But the show instead opted to just give you everything you've ever seen before. It like watching a mystery movie, but you already know who did it. It takes away the suspense. I found myself predicting the events of this show episode by episode, which didn't sit well with me.
I don't think you should watch this show if you aren't a someone who regular watches isekai and/or…

Isekai cheat magician is what shows up in the dictionary for Isekai. It’s in the name. I’m not sure if the creators intended to make the most unoriginal show by labeling it as such, but it made for a very boring and uneventful watch. What makes the isekai genre so interesting isn’t necessarily the overwhelming power of those transported to a new world, but the unique and other dimensional experiences the transported go through. I can say Isekai Cheat Magician overall is nothing new and completely lacks enough unique properties to be able to differentiate it from any other isekai.
One unique feature, and I use the term unique loosely, is the fairies that help provide our main hero his power (I’ve already forgotten his name). This could have been an interesting concept, yet it was executed…
