Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle

Introduction

The Demon Lord Tasogare's castle is a dark and frightening place, filled to the brim with various monsters. Any soul unfortunate enough to be imprisoned here is sure to be terrified by the horrors within. However, the human princess Aurora Suya Rhys "Syalis" Kaymin is a different case. Rather indifferent to her situation, Syalis worries about one thing and one thing only—sleep. Ever since the demon lord kidnapped her from her kingdom, she has not had a single good night's rest. To alleviate her dozen dozing issues, the princess makes do with what she can find in the castle. Whether it be the fur of fluffy demonic teddy bears or the silky, blanket-like bodies of ghost shrouds, everything is but a means to ensure a peaceful slumber. With so many potential materials to craft items that can help her sleep at her disposal, nothing will stop the sleepy princess—not even death. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is, in the nicest way possible, dull. This show doesn't really have any magic that draws you in, causing the viewing experience to generally be mediocre. Every now and then an episode segment is quite entertaining, but this is usually only once per episode. They have a decent cast of side characters that they never use, and the demon/human conflict is poorly built (although it isn't the point of the show so it's fine). This show isn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Aside from occasional peaks, I was usually pretty bored watching this. There isn't anything unique or special that this show does to draw you in, so it's pretty standard. No clue why it's ranked almost an 8

I really enjoyed this anime. It is really funny and creative in some way. The artstyle and characters are cute. I wish this anime would be longer or have atleast season 2. I heard that the manga was still going after the ending that is in the anime so it is kinda disappointing that it just finished with 12 episodes but maybe there is still hope for season 2? I don't know. But I really liked the story and I might decide to read the manga. Anyway, I recommend you to watch it, it is worth this time. (in my opinion)

The rewatch value for this is insanely high. Each episode is so comfy to sit through, and this cozy mood is very consistent throughout; nothing felt out of place. The story is quite simple and straight-forward, and the same can be said for the characters to be honest; this isn't really a detriment to the show, as it is a comedy after all, and the simplistic nature is very much a merit in this case. Each episode can be summed up with the princess trying to achieve the best sleep she can get while causing havoc and mayhem for everyone else in the castle; it fits the wacky trope that she herself is the monster in the situation and not the ones holding her prisoner. Endearing moments are sprinkled throughout, especially within episodes that feature the Demon king and his allies aiding the pr…

Absolutely adorable feel-good anime, must watch if you're feeling like a bit of a pick-me-up. This anime is pure fluff, quite literally, with the princess constantly on a hunt for the best sleep. It's adorable to see her relationship with her demon captors who all basically love her like their own daughters. But what I found most interesting, is even with the princess' seemingly obvious dullness, she's actually a genius. The princess has a one-track mind for sleep, but all the things she did to achieve that goal is honestly not something a dull person could do. Anyway point is, this anime is a definite hit for people like me who just want to enjoy a good laugh and adorable moments

Sleep Is A Life And Death Matter I have never seen a more relatable main character. The want to sleep even if all moral question, have to be left aside to get the sleep that your deserve. The main characters almost autistic desire to get what she want, is so funny to see and leads to so many memorable moments. The Demons in the show are wonderful, there's behavior and how they react to the princess is priceless and is one of the funniest parts every episode. The monster design is so cute. It warms my heart and is so cozy, just the right amount of cuteness and specially the princess design. The dialogue is so funny. I don't know why, but it's delivered so good and the dub is good. The format of episode Show much charm, that she has a quest with the big fancy title and then we get the…

Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle is a masterpiece of our generation. It parodies a common story of a princess being held captive. However, she is unintentionally possibly the scariest being in the castle and what makes the story so brilliant is precisely the contrast between the princess and demons living in the castle. Even though she's basically treating the demons like you would animals and with the demons often looking like such, from the perspective of the demons she is terrifying. Yet because the story is portrayed in quite adorable fashion from the princess's point of view, the differences in perspective are steep and really funny. With the weight of her actions, the princess's nonchalant attitude adds to the comedy perfectly. And all for what? To build a pillow, to find a new b…

This is the most wonderfully, gloriously, amazingly *stupid* anime I have seen in quite a long time, and unlike most times I would say that, that's an unreserved compliment. I haven't laughed that hard since "Kaguya-Sama". The premise is simple: A princess is abducted by the demon lord. But all she wants is a good night's sleep. And she is amazingly resourceful when it comes to finding all the items she needs for said sleep. And make no mistake - no demon is safe when it gets in the way of whatever her current sleep quest is. And this girl is *ruthless*. When I say no demon is safe, I mean it. But one of the weird things about the "demon realm" is that no one - including the princess - truly dies. In spite of her best efforts. All while an incompetent hero is trying to rescue her. In fac…

Princess syils kidnapped by demon king. And when she is in jail she always escape and do chaos things. Like making a high quality bed, pillow, water bed etc she doing this because she is always uncomfortable on cheap low quality bed she is a kudare type anime girl i like her art style its reminds me of yayaoi of dark gathering. I hate the hero of this anime who trying to save her he is piece of work who always do dumb things and also in childhood of sylis the father of sylis decide to be fiance of her son the princess the motives of the prince is bring her back to the castle although the princess hate this Because in demon castle she do what ever she want. apparently in castle of her mother queen is has always alot of work to do. So she decided to stay at the demons relm or demon castle .…

The demon king has kidnapped the princess. Oh no! What will happen to the poor, innocent, darling princess! Well, apparently she'll suffer from insomnia and terrorize the entire demon population until she gets some crafting material for better beddings. She IS a princess after all, she can't go around looking sleep deprived and tired. This is such a comfort watch. The characters are cute and the comedy hits. I watched the dub and they nailed it. Art & animation = 8/10 While the art is just ok the lively animation elevates it a bit. The character designs stand out especially for the leads. Story & plot = 10/10 While episodic in nature most characters underwent an arc during the short 12 episode season. More impressive however is how natural this character change felt. It wasn't through…

This is the ultimate casual comfort show. MC is hilarious and the vibe of the whole thing is light, funny, silly, and entertaining. It's slice-of-life comedy about falling asleep. The setting is a demon castle where she finds a bunch of wacky things to help her do so, while inadvertently terrorizing the demon community. She goes from princess to boogeyman over the course of the season. She is like a virus that the poor demons foolishly accepted and now have to live with and cater to. A great anime to watch casually or fall asleep to (the dub is solid for this purpose). Kind of a niche enjoyment for me with its silly fantasy setting and largely middling art style, but I think its vibe would make it appealing to most people.

It’s a cute anime that’s nice for relaxing. There’s not too much of a giant plot, it’s pretty relaxed, and the comedy is nice. It doesn’t use embarrassing moments as comedy, which makes it a nice anime for people who get bad secondhand embarrassment but still want to watch a comedy. It deserves a second season because it feels kinda… not completed. It feels like it was made for a second season! The timing of the actual story can get a little confusing, but the story is still pretty intact. The characters personalities do feel a little not unique, but I still feel like that the most important ones have good enough personalities.

I'm absolutely obsessed with this anime. I watch the first season and within the year of me watching it I purchased every manga and I'm currently up to date. I feel like people write it off too soon as a cute girly anime on simply how it looks. but anybody that writes it off because of that is missing out on hilarious comedy. Princess syalis is not a force to be trifled with she has no problem cutting down anybody in her path that gets in the way of her good night's sleep. The manga is obviously more better but the anime is just as good in my opinion and is seriously worth a look at.

Do you, like myself, have trouble sleeping? Worry not I've got just the remedy. Get cozy, pour yourself a nightcap, and turn on an episode of sleepy princess in the demon castle this show is charming, cute, and simplistically enjoyable on so many levels. For starters let's go over the setting. Shows like the office and other sitcoms are cozy and relaxing in big part due to most of the show taking place in 1 room, whether in be an office or a living room, a basement, apartment etc coming back to a small space repeatedly and consistently gives us a sense of comfortability and predictability that enables us to relax and this series utilizes that well. The main setting of this being the princesses "jail cell" (I'll elaborate on the quotations shortly) the set up and premise is that the demon k…

aou-jou de Oyasumi, also known as Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, is a delightful and whimsical fantasy anime that effortlessly combines humor, adventure, and a touch of sweetness. Set in a world where a human princess, Princess Syalis, finds herself kidnapped by demons and held captive in the Demon Castle, this series takes a hilarious twist on the typical princess-in-distress trope. With its unique premise, endearing characters, and clever comedic moments, Maou-jou de Oyasumi is a gem that will leave you smiling. Creative and Comedic Storytelling: What sets Maou-jou de Oyasumi apart is its clever and comedic storytelling. Princess Syalis, despite being captured, doesn't succumb to despair; instead, she sees her situation as an opportunity for adventure and an uninterrupted sleep. H…

By no means my favorite comedy anime series, I really did enjoy my time with this one. I had watched it dubbed and it was getting laughs out of me at least a few times per episode. The voice actors truly had their A game for this series. The character designs are also mostly solid and there are times when the animation is on point but there are equal parts times where things are a little rough. Also despite enjoying it, I can also admit the premise was a little tiring after a bit. I honestly don’t know how much more you can expand the concept of this series given the premise. But it certainly tried to do new and humorous things on the next horizon so I am happy for that at least. By no means my favorite comedy anime but I can see quite a few people putting it up there for themselves. Li…

"Masterpiece" nowadays is something thrown around too lightly. Shows ridden with flaws get the green-light for this rating, purely off "hype" and recency bias. This is hands down my favorite slice-of-life anime. The reoccurring cast and 1 episode plots makes this the perfect series to pick up every once in a while and laugh at, and the show in general gives off very wholesome vibes. The cast was also super memorable for either having comedic 2d personalities or having real, kind-hearted personalities (most of the time) and being someone we can sympathize with. This show flips a lot of conventional tropes on their head (it's set in a Demon Lord's castle, who could've guessed?) that are interesting to see play out. Highly recommend for anyone just looking for a laugh or for something more casual.

A cute anime from the start to finish. From the first episode itself, we were shown the unending cuteness of the “hostage”. Heh. After the first episode ended, I enjoyed the episode, but I thought that this topic would feel a little repetitive if continued over all the 12 episodes. Oh man, did it not. In every episode, the goal of the princess was the same, just the problem was different. I had no clue that someone could think off and provide so many problems for the same need, ending up in almost a similar situation, but it did not feel repetitive. The anime tried its best not to keep the jokes centered around a similar idea, so a few jokes were changed here and there but the ending format wasn’t changed at all, which did not feel creepily distinct yet felt new. The writing felt really s…

*Minor spoilers* *Minor spoilers* *Minor spoilers* *Minor Spoilers* Ok so sleepy princess in the demon castle isn't a crazy action anime. theres no fights theres no crazy life threatening encounters. If your looking for that your out of luck. What sleep princess in the demon castle IS its a comedy for people just to watch for fun. Its about a girl that was abducted in her sleep and was brought to this demon castle where no humans lived. Whenever she tried to sleep there was always something wrong and she tries to fix that. To her pillow being uncomfortable on her face. All the way to her making a homemade sun. Its really crazy and has a lot going on at once. Ok onto the ratings. Story: 7/10. It really isn't that good. Its something that comes straight out a fairy tail. Princess gets kid…

I went into this show because I saw a picture of the art and found it cute and also found the idea interesting. It is now one of my top shows and I recommend it to everyone I meet. Viewers get to watch an abducted princess go on little adventures searching for a way to sleep comfortably. The demons that abducted her grow fond of her and dote on her more and more throughout the show. This is purely comedy and cuteness, so don't expect any ground-breaking plot. I normally hate slice of life but Sleepy Princess was a breath of fresh air. The story is very unique and I can't find any other media with a similar premise. Something about the idea of it being a fantasy slice of life with completely unrealistic themes is very refreshing and adds to the humor. After having rewatched this show so…
