Osama Bin Laden had Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Bleach on his hard drives. If he had this anime saved to his hard drive, he would be ridiculed for the rest of eternity.
Despite being about terrorism, the show has no maturity or logic to it. This show could have ended in 3 minutes if the guards didn't have stormtrooper aim. Giving terrorists eccentric archetypes as a juxtaposition of how terrorists are usually portrayed doesn't add more depth to the show. It's also the biggest gaping plot hole, the terrorists just casually go to school to obtain "Lisa the plot device" while simultaneously streaming themselves with $5 masks, no voice changer, and with mostly the same personality too.
Story: 2/10
For a story supposedly rooted in something serious like "being broken by the system" the show r…

Three episodes in, you quickly realize it uses the cheap tactic of making all characters dumb, in order to make the three main characters look smart. The side characters often behave in unrealistically stupid ways because of this.
In regards to the female character- insane overuse of the damsel in distress character type. Why is she always fainting and collapsing for no apparent reason? Why can't she do a single thing on her own, besides falling over?
Watchable if you are very bored and want to be pissed off at various characters. I never leave reviews on MAL, and this is my first review, because of how pissed off I was while watching.
Nice art style, aesthetically pleasing.

The parliament does not represent you, life does not represent you, you are not understood within life, you are alone, therefore the system must be destroyed. But what exactly does the terror here refer to? A search for purity. Historically terror is essentially a bug in the enlightenment or perhaps an additional file attached to it. Rousseau needs to be brought into the discussion here once again. The Social Contract is based on the principle of acting according to the general will and in the interests of everyone rather than in the interests of a faction. This is precisely where violence can begin to acquire legitimacy. If a concept is accepted by the general will as a means of crushing tyrants then that concept becomes ethical yet there are some very serious questions surrounding this.…

Terror in Resonance was overall a really interesting and enjoyable anime, but I still have quite a few problems with some of its writing choices.
First of all, I really didn't like Five. I understand what the anime was trying to do with her: she is basically there to contrast Nine and Twelve and show that, despite being terrorists, they aren't simply cold psychopaths. But honestly, I don't think it works very well. The fact that Five works for the American government and then proceeds to blow things up herself just doesn't make much sense to me. I know there are explanations for her obsession with Nine, but it still feels forced.
My biggest problem with her, though, is that she feels almost omniscient. She seems to know everything, constantly predicts what Nine and Twelve are going to do…

(Originally written on 2025/03/02, on the day I finished this title)
Overall, it was a unique and fantastic experience at each step - I have zero complaints.
ARTSTYLE
- I really liked it. Aside from matching the realism of characters, environments, and everything else perfectly, it was also just very pleasant to look at. Additionally, in a bunch of scenes where the usual artstyle was altered (usually for flashbacks, or to show how a character viewed the world around them) to be more abstract, it was done similarly great.
- The lighting was fantastic - there were so many scenes that were really enhanced by how well it was used. It was natural and it was beautiful.
DESIGNS
- Great; despite most of the episodes taking place in the middle of a city, it never felt like I was looking at a…

This is the most underrated anime I've ever watched. If you love Death Note, it can be your fav. Because it has a unique plot, wrapped with emotions and memories. Though it is very short (11 eps), it will take a place in your heart. I like the characters, the dreamy bike scene! I never realized I'll be this attatched to a very short anime. Maybe it is because in this story, a boy with hopeless future learns to live, he shatters. Especially, Twelve's smile seemed robotic at first. But as time goes, he finally smiles, a genuine one. The changes are fast but memorable. Relatable.
I rate the anime as-
Plot 10/10
soundtrack 10/10
characters 9/10
Animation 9/10
emotion 9/10
character design 8/10
I didn't like the ending, but it was really interesting. You should try this hidden masterpiece

Loved it!
The right amount of everything. Each episode led me to want more. Even with the 11 episodes this received, I think they did a nice job explaining the story. You don't go too much into detail when it comes to each character, but just enough to fill in the gaps by yourself.
Was a bit confused with some outcomes, in particular this one white-haired woman, but regardless, still very satisfied.
Wouldn't say that it was the anime to leave you sitting there thinking about life, but it brought it close with its aesthetics and the general theme.
Lastly, the OP and ED weren't particularly interesting, but at least the ED soundtrack got me hooked on it so much that it's on repeat for the majority of the days. So good.
I can't really say to which demographic I'd recommend this anime,…

Plot, pacing and emotions are extremely well handled for an 11 episodes anime. Could it be longer? Probably. But I am not sure if it would be as impactful as it is that way.
Story is unique and you just want to see what is coming next. It does not matter if you predict things correct or not, you just keep wondering what happens next.
One weak point may be the lack of details about characters and their backstory, but as I mentioned this is the best you can get with an 11 episodes anime. Yet, I find it satisfactory. If you want to explore more about a world, you can always find flaws. But that's what would be what you want to know, not what the story is about. The characters are pretty well executed and each have their own characteristic.
I do not necessarily review art style unless it's…

The story was an absolute masterpiece all throughout. There are no plot holes, everything ends up having a purpose and the plot feels very realistic to the nature of the characters we get presented with. The consequences of each action meets an end very close to what would happen in the real world, and especially with the USA getting involved over nuclear technology, I think this was a close representation to the shady reality of our world politics. The corrupition and selfishness of certain military/police branches made sense too. The story also has very natural pacing, and doesn't stretch unnecessarily yet manages to tell the whole story in great detail and make every minute important. They literally thought the plot out as far as even to the number of episodes. Everything was relevant t…

Started with an interesting premise but ended up being a dissapointing train wreck. I cannot believe I slogged through 11 episodes just for Shinichiro Watanabe to say "Haha f-- you" at the end. Each episode feels like 40 minutes because of how utterly boring the dialogue was. You'd think a show about two teenagers commiting acts of terrorism would be exciting and suspenseful. Wrong. The show *wants* you to think there's suspense. But in reality, it's just a repetitive game of cat and mouse between two boys and the police. And this drags for the first four episodes or so. Every now and then, there's a couple of moments with intrigue, but that's about it. The rest is just idle chatter and boring police dialogue. An unknown threat becomes apparent in Tokyo, the police get involved, and then t…

The main story of this was pretty great. There wasn't a lot of time to get across the whole story, but I think they managed. I do think this would have been better if we had more episodes to really get to know the characters' backgrounds more. We understand all of their backgrounds fully, but just getting more clips from their past to develop stronger emotional stakes within the viewer would make certain things hit harder — the show did still hit real hard though, especially the ending. Also, you're not left with any questions by the end, which is another added bonus.
The animation was good, and the music was CHEF'S KISS. The sound design for this was an absolute banger. They knew exactly what to play and when to play it.
Now, the women in this were eh. Lisa and Five were kinda mid and w…

Man, this was a struggle to get through - despite the pretty animations and genuinely beautiful music. The story keeps threatening to live up to them, but it never gets anywhere close. Roughly once every 3 episodes or so there's a moment of genuine intrigue and suspense but that's it.
9 and 12 are... Fine characters but I didn't really care too much about them. I kept rooting for Lisa and 5 to get proper development, to become less obnoxious but it never happened. The only character I genuinely really like is Shibazaki. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the middle aged wash up detective type.
There are various completely abandoned plot points such as Lisa's unstable mother and absent father, Shibazaki's relationship to his family, Lisa's connection to 9 and 12's backstory - really, it's…

This anime is one of the most beautiful pieces of art that i never seen before.
I started Zankyou no Terror in 2020 when i wasn't able to understand the story. But after rewatching it , it was like that this work of art burrowed into my mind.
Yes, my critical sense is not the same as an grown men who watches anime since the 90s but i can tell that this is a 10/10 anime ( subjectively ) .
It's true that the story isn't particularly original, but the plot is incredible and even better than a certain detective anime whose name I won't mention.
The characters are simple , but have a great personality. Nine , Twelve and Five have such a sad backstory .
I will tell that Lisa is a normal teenage girl with parents issues , very commun but weirdly she's my favorite character. She's so relatable…

Not everyone is going to understand it, and I think that’s the point.
Terror in Resonance draws you in right away. The production, animation, and music all feel polished and intentional, creating a world that’s both stylish and interesting. The first three episodes are especially strong, setting the tone with incredible pacing and atmosphere.
There’s a bit of a slowdown in the middle, but the show makes up for it with moments that stay with you- the motorcycle scene and the Ferris wheel scene are beautifully crafted examples of cinematic storytelling that surpass many live-action films.
Where it stumbles is in the characters. The main girl feels underdeveloped, more of a bystander than a participant, which gets very frustrating at times. And while the antagonist is interesting, they com…

Zankyou no Terror, at first I did not have much hope while starting it but boy was I wrong, this turned out to be one of the best animes I have ever watched, the characters are very well written apart from Lisa and she was really annoying for me. The last episode was so emotional and this is the kind of anime that will take you to the end and break your heart. The sotry is perfect it couldn't have been better, the animation is also top notch and all the plot lines converge beautifully. A no brainer 10 on 10 for me. Highly recommended if you need an anime that hooks you till the end with a fitting finale.

Review: Terror in Resonance.
Rating: 6/10.
Terror in Resonance was a bit of a letdown. I had heard a lot of praise for it, and it had been on my watchlist for a while. When Lazarus — another terrorism-themed anime — came out, I decided to finally check this one out.
The pacing started slow, which I already knew beforehand, but what really bothered me is that it never picked up. The story stays at a steady pace throughout, never quite reaching the emotional or narrative highs I expected. The main characters were interesting at first, but as the show went on, their mystery faded and they became less engaging. The intrigue around them was the most interesting part, and once that’s gone, so is their appeal.…

"VON" or hope.
11 episodes are enough to make you excited, moved, and cry at the end.
What these adults did to the children brought them to this point.
9 and 12 just wanted their cases and the cases of 24 other children who lost their lives because of these experiences to be addressed. Even after their deaths, 9 told Shibazaki, "Don't forget and remember us."
The anime is similar to the stories of "Death Note," "The Promised Land," and "The Life of Ayanokouji."
I feel the anime should have been a little longer; 22 episodes would have been enough.
But 11 is more than enough. Characters: I want to talk about the main characters first. 9 and 12 were a great embodiment of both Yagami and Light, and 5 was a resemblance to Near as well, and 12 looked a bit like Mello, Lisa looked a bit like Lisa…

Terror in Resonance (Zankyou no Terror) – Review (8/10)
Terror in Resonance by Madhouse is a psychological thriller that delivers a hauntingly dark and nihilistic experience. It explores themes of terrorism, government corruption, and the consequences of forgotten pasts. The anime is an artistic and emotional powerhouse with Shinichirō Watanabe directing and Yoko Kanno composing the soundtrack.
Category Ratings:
Animation: 9/10
Madhouse’s animation quality is top-notch, with fluid motion, crisp detail, and stunningly realistic backgrounds. Explosions, chases, and emotional sequences are animated with precision.
Character Design: 8/10
The character designs, while somewhat minimalist, fit the sombre and realistic tone. Nine and Twelve’s distinct looks reflect their personalities, and Lisa’…

Terror in Resonance has a killer setup: terrorists, cryptic riddles, and a city on edge. But while it starts off strong, it never fully capitalizes on its potential. The direction and the haunting score set the mood perfectly, giving the series a sleek, cinematic feel. The first few episodes pull you in with their mystery and tension, but as the story goes on, it starts to lose it.
Nine and Twelve are intriguing leads, and their dynamic keeps things interesting. But then there’s Five, whose introduction shifts the show from psychological thriller to something closer to cat-and-mouse antics. There are themes of government corruption and societal neglect, but they don’t hit as hard as they should.
Visually and musically, the show delivers. Narratively, it's just fine. The ending a…
