Four girls take over an abandoned club room and do shenanigans while an absurdly-powerful student council does its darnedest to stop them. Each of the four also seems to be kind of into the others? But such is Yuruyuri.
Honestly, this is one that's more of a guilty pleasure of mine- just seeing how the four girls get together and have fun is rather refreshing, and the yuri part is... well, it's not blatant, but you can catch hints of it here and there and that actually makes it work so much better than just being on full display. They're friends who hang out and you can tell they like each other. The story is calm and naturally-progressing, and while the student council may be ou to get rid of them from the room, well... it's not malicious.
If you're looking for a slice of life that's ac…

Slice of life of elementary school girls with a touch of lesbianism
At first I thought the yuri in the anime was only used as a joke, but after watching the 3 seasons and seeing that it remains until the end, I was wrong. To be honest, I still don't know if it's really just for humor or if the yuri here is serious, but regardless of the answer, it's present in almost every episode and is the main tool for generating jokes and funny moments in the anime. The humor is light, so there won't be any extreme moments or jokes during the anime. By far the funniest thing is the expressions, which manage to convey the characters' feelings in a good way.
The story doesn't have anything out of the ordinary; basically, it's elementary school girls living their daily lives at school…

Oh boi, this did not survive my attempted rewatch.
I really loved this show when I was somewhere between 13 and 17, can't pinpoint my exact age anymore, unfortunately. I had originally rated it 9 stars... I don't know, how I did not notice the following themes.
The first episode alone consists mostly of sexual harrassment/stalking(?) of multiple characters (including incest) and bullying of one.
This is treated as a joke, even though the show even depicts the emotional effects of the torment on its recipients. It just... doesn't care. Seeing the characters suffer and unable to flee or defend themselves... makes it all the more funny apparently?
For the sake of my own peace of mind, I will not continue this re-watch, so I can't reliably say, if it gets better or worse over the course of…

This show made me feel really uncomfortable at worst, and maybe got a chuckle at best.
The main problem with YuruYuri is that the characters are 13 years old, yet are depicted in suggestive/outright sexual contexts. This combined with incest and forced kissing are just not the right mix for what should probably be a wholesome SOL anime. There's a few episodes which really did nothing except make me feel gross, and I nearly dropped the show twice.
The show actually has a few funny moments, and an alright set of characters. I only had real issue with Chinatsu, a self-imposing prick who does nothing but subtract from the anime. The best episodes were the few without her.
There's also this running gag where Akari has "little presence" but this gets old quick and feels more like cheap bullyin…

This is a very cute anime, with a fun sense of humor. The manzai comedy between kyouko and yui never gets stale.
There's a decently sized cast of characters and they all get a decent chunk of airtime. There's plenty of tropes to satisfy various tastes.
The art style and animation are a step above the average, with more effort put into animations and expressions.
If you want comedy and lighthearted yuri romance with a little wholesomeness thrown in, you will most certainly enjoy this anime.
Easily a 8 out of 10 for what it is. I am looking forward to checking out season 2 and beyond.

One of the quintessential CGDCT anime. The title of the show really says everything you need to know. Yuru means loose or easygoing or something to that effect, as seen in the translated title for Yuru Camp as Laid-back Camp. And Yuri means lily... but we all know what it really means...
This show definitely has plenty of girls crushing on each other, being dumb, and enjoying the springtime of their youth. I think if you're a fan of the genre this is a must watch, along with the likes of K-on or Lucky Star. If you're one of those pretentious weebs who misquotes Miyazaki and thinks moe ruined anime, go watch Evangelion again, nerd.
I can't wait to keep watching more seasons of this, because it hits all the right beats for the slice of life 4 girls in middle school genre. 8/10 lesbians.

On the surface, this show is nothing but another moe "cute girls doing cute things" show. That's literally all it is, too. There is no plot at all, and there aren't any weird circumstances really, it's just normal girls doing normal things but some of them happen to have crushes on others.
Saying that probably makes you think that this show is just boring, and while it is slow paced that is not the case at all. I've seen my fair share of moe shows, and this one is one of the best. The jokes can actually land, and I laughed out loud at least once an episode, and chuckled or smiled far more than that. I basically was smiling the whole time. You will too, because these extremely cute girls are also extremely funny.
The art isn't anything special and neither is the ost. The op and Ed for the…

Only two words can describe this anime: extreme hilarity. This anime is the funniest anime I have ever seen, and for a good reason. Every character is fit to their personality and is meant to make the audience laugh. Every line is well-written and humorous to the point where I double over in pain from laughing so hard. And for a 2011 anime, the artstyle looks amazing. Thanks to a mention of this on Discord, I checked this anime out, not knowing what to expect. I didn't even get 2 minutes into the first episode before I began to lose it from laughing. I really don't need to say anything else xD

If there’s anime out there that puts a smile on my face, it’s this one for sure.
Yuru Yuri was always a favorite when it came to 2010’s anime in forums and sites like this one. I was impressed mainly through the show’s slapstick humor and the fact that this was not just another girl’s show. Yuru Yuri had memorable characters when it came to the likes of Kyōko, Yui, Akarin and Chinatsu. It was a bit different from comedies that I’ve seen from others throughout my life, and it was for good reason why this was special.
The side characters also shined as well, especially in the second half of the anime. Chitose and Ayano’s friendship and mistaken fantasies with Kyōko and Ayano from the former drive the show’s eccentricity to a high, while the friendship between Sakurako and Himawari is very…

I watched Yuru Yuri all three seasons back in late 2015, and not only that it's one of the best slice of life comedies I've seen, but it's also one of the best anime I've ever watched, because it's so damn light-hearted and funny! The things that I really love most about Yuru Yuri is how pleasing for me to watch, and I really love the endearing characters, with each of them having unique personalities. Every single character has her own personality and behavior, and they have a relationship with each other, hence the word "Yuri" in the title.
It began with Akari Akaza being a protagonist of the show, and she gets to join the Amusement Club alongside her friends, Kyoko Toshino and Yui Funami. Eventually, Chinatsu Yoshikawa was convinced to join the Amusement Club as well, in which she was…

Doga Kobo is well known as a powerhouse in moe and this anime is no exception! Apart from the moe, you also have frequent girl-on-girl action(no ecchi though).
All the characters are just way too cute! From time to time you also get to see imoutos of some characters who are even cuter. Almost every single girl has a crush on some other girl and the best thing is that they don't even try to hide it. It is very difficult to choose best girl since all the 10 girls are very cute and have a distinct personality.
Apart from being so awesome in the moe department, the series displays equal brilliance in the comedy department. There are many running gags which are executed to absolute perfection, which will leave you in splits.
Both the opening and ending songs are great and match the tone of…

Lucky Star is one of my favorite series of all time, check my list and you'll see it right up near the top. It's the series that got me started on anime in general and I still binge it from time to time.
I mean it in the best possible way that Yuru Yuri is Lucky Star on steroids, to the point where I have to be honest and say that I think this is just a better series. And I'm talking ALL of Yuru Yuri, not just this first season. Consider this my review for the entire series.
Yuru Yuri takes every aspect of Lucky Star that I loved, refines them, and expands them throughout its entire duration. All of the characters get the screen time that they deserve, you have a perfect combination of expressive visual slapstick and sharp, witty dialogue building the base for the humor, and they aren't…

Fun.
That is the only word I could come up with when trying to think of a way to accurately describe Yuru Yuri to a friend. Because it's a fucking blast.
Yuru Yuri sits in this weird grey area of what I like to believe is the very antithesis of western animation. It's far too childish to be called mature and it's far too lewd to be called childish. And it just works.
It's one of my favorite takes on slice of life that I've seen so far.
This isn't some SOL anime like Lucky Star where you can throw on any episode and just kick back because if you don't understand the characters and their slow development and the plethora of running gags then you aren't able to enjoy it in it's full capacity. At the same time there isn't an epic overarching plot. It's not even a subtle plot that has an em…

Honestly nothing particularly stands out with this, but if you're watching it for what it is, it is perfect. A lighthearted and silly anime. Lacking complex characters and depth, this anime aligns the little it has to provide humour (this is how it's really spelled spellcheck!!) and simple stories that are brief without being underwhelming. This is by no means a masterpiece, but it is still a work of art. Pleasing to the eye, and warming to the heart.
Apparently reviews need to be longer, but I think this is enough to express my opinion. Thank you for reading my first review.

Okay. Let me first say that the gayness in Yuru Yuri is more of a thing to embellish the main comedic core than what I'd call real romance. But hey, it's still a fun CGDCT show! And the other dated definition of gay means cheerful anyways, which fits the show, so yeah...I guess it's actually quite gay!
When there's a school club, and it's rightfully termed the Amusement Club, you know a whole lotta mischiefs are awaiting ahead of you. Mischiefs inside their club room. Mischiefs in the comfort of their homes. Mischiefs pretty much everywhere! For Kyouko, the founder of this amusing club, all she wants in life is to simply have fun and do whatever she wants. And you can bet that wild antic of hers ain't stopping anytime soon, as she d…

Cute comedy!
This was a great sitcom type show about an all girl cast (really I think there might have been one background guy that mad an appearance in season 2) who basically make their own club and have little interactions with other girls in the school. They develop some "interesting" relationships. Overall very light and easy to watch, although season 3 does get a bit touchy/feely, recommend watching all of it if you do decide to take this one on.
STORY:
Well like I said this is a sitcom there are lot of random episodes like one where everyone just goes on dates and one where one of the main characters goes back in time... Some things blow up and some girls have a bunch of fantasies that makes her nose bleed. If you watch all the seasons and start to like all the characters then…

Yuru Yuri is one of the best of its kind. Speaking for the moe genre and the absurd humor portion. If you think that one night, Teekyu and K-On got shit-faced, slept together, and had a bastard childーthis series would be their love child.
• I initially dropped this series when it first started airing in 2011. The main heroine’s older sister, Akane, is rabidly obsessed to her imouto to a serial killer-like degree, so when Akari’s friends come to pick her up from school and they accidentally wander into her sister’s room, seeing pairs of Akari’s panties splayed all over the place, grotesquely, and pictures of her everywhere and they are shock-still with terror. This moment is quickly swept under the rug with Akari making a punchline comment about not being able to find her underwear.
• At…

Best CGDCT (cute girls doing cute things). I will not speak in general terms why opinion is subjetive. In my opinion, Yuru Yuri has a perfect combination of all that I like (yuri, cute childish schoolgirls, comedy). There's no drama or other unnecesary things. It's perfect!
maybe if there more yuri, would have a 10
-Story? lol, there's no exist and is good
-Art (8/10): Namori have a cute art, perfect for lesbian cute schoolgirls
-Character (9/10): Very cute and funny characters. A irreverent otaku, a lovely (but creepy sometimes) pink-haired girl, a siscon/lolicon pervert onee-chan, a modest and mature tomboy, a "invisible" girl, a yurijoshi whose nose is bleeding, etc
-Enjoyment (10/10): Is necessary say more?

Ok, the first thing I should say, is that dogakobo's Yuru Yuri is a parody of the slice of life genre and the yuri in general.
All the characters must be taken as ridicule to the stereotypes that exist in the characters of the series of this genre, especially Akari.
The situations in this anime series are so surrealistic and ridicolous, nobody in the series take seriously the situations.
The most better developed characters, or better written, are Kyoko and Chinatsu.
Kyoko is a silly girl, her interestings are manga, anime, rum raisin, and a lot of fun, although it can be described as a selfish character, since she does whatever it takes to get her friends to do what she wants.
Next, we've Akari, the non-presence character. Her personality it's very beautiful, she is kind, considerate,…
