By the Grace of the Gods

Introduction

Deep in the forest, far from any human contact, there lives a child named Ryouma Takebayashi. He engages in the rather strange hobby of keeping various types of slimes as pets. Furthermore, despite his young age, he has a sturdy physique and good compatibility for magic. All of this is because, having endured much hardship in his previous life, three gods grace Ryouma with a second chance to pursue one goal: savor the wonders of life. After three years of comfortable solitude pass by, Ryouma meets people that will change his current life forever. When he encounters and helps some soldiers tend to their wounded comrade, the group convinces him to accompany them to visit the nearby town's ducal family. Ryouma agrees and soon embarks on a journey to explore the vast world beyond his home. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This is the anime I didn't know I needed. It's absolutely nothing special: A middle aged guy suffers an ignominious death and gets reincarnated as a kid in another world, and along the way he meets various people, overcomes challenges, and is basically way OP for the world. All pretty standard isekai tropes which have been done far better by other animes such as Reincarnated as a Slime, but there's just something so cozy and wholesome about this anime it's hard not to love it. It's not another gundam robot anime, it's not trying to be dark and edgy, it's not another high school drama or romcom, there are no world-in-peril stakes, the animation isn't even anything special nor is the writing. It's just a simple cozy and wholesome story that somehow manages to become more than the sum of its…

A slime isekai? I think I've seen this somewhere... Jokes aside, Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko had everything to be just another generic isekai. And in the end, that's exactly what it ended up being. However, I have to admit that the beginning managed to surprise me positively. The first four episodes were a lot of fun. As everything was still new, it was interesting to follow the protagonist discovering the new world and experimenting with different ways of using his slimes. The work had a very calm feeling, almost like a comfort anime, without major conflicts and focusing more on everyday life. On this first impression, I would easily give it a 7/10. The problem starts when the novelty wears off. After the first episodes, the story starts to follow practically the same formula the e…

If I could give 7.5, I would. This is an isekai about Ryouma, an exploited worker from earth who is reborn as a child in a different world. The concept is not that original (even lampshaded by some of the characters who call it a cliche), but it's fairly well executed. There isn't much of a plot. The vibe is more slice-of-life, and a little bit character driven. The basic storyline is, once Ryouma is reborn, he spends three years alone in the woods studying slimes. After three years, he meets a duke and his family who help him start to move forward in life. The art isn't stunning, but it's not bad to look at either. The music didn't stand out to me. The world building is a little basic, with some interesting elements. There's multiple guilds and types of magic that are explored, as we…

“By the Grace of the Gods” is what happens when a simple, maybe a bit naïve, feel good story is done with at least some logic, key word being “some”. As far as feelgood stories goes, this is not a tragedy, it isn’t ground breaking either so don’t get Your hopes up too much. It is, however, surprisingly logical for this type of story and plot. Before we start I would like to explain something. I will be talking about “plot” and “story”. Many people use those terms interchangeably. I’m not one of those people, so to make sure everyone is on the same page… I use the definitions for “plot” and “story” as Lisa Cron describes them: “What happens in the story is the PLOT, the surface events.” “STORY is about how the things that happen affect someone in pursuit of a difficult goal, and how tha…

"When he encounters and helps some soldiers tend to their wounded comrade, the group convinces him to accompany them to visit the nearby town's ducal family. Ryouma agrees and soon embarks on a journey to explore the vast world beyond his home." This is a flat out lie. Ryouma pretty much goes to the first town he finds and then does very little interesting after the first half of the first season. If you read the description and assumed this was an adventure show, IT IS NOT. This is NOT an adventure show. It's, at most, a slice of life show which pretty much takes place in just one town and focuses on fairly boring business logistics.

By the Grace of the Gods - A Cozy and Relaxed Isekai Slice of Life with Limited Impact Rating: 6/10 Introduction: By the Grace of the Gods is an isekai anime that aims to deliver a laid-back and soothing experience in a fantasy world. While it succeeds in creating a calming atmosphere and a likable protagonist, the series falls short in making a lasting impression due to its slow pacing and lack of substantial plot development. As an anime enthusiast, I provide a review of By the Grace of the Gods, shedding light on its strengths and weaknesses to help you decide if it's the right addition to your anime list. Cozy Slice of Life in a Fantasy World: The anime introduces us to Ryouma Takebayashi, a middle-aged man reincarnated into a fantasy world with a generous gift from the gods. He i…

In the real world that has mixed genre, where chaos is the dominant one. This anime is a great escapee. A really chill world that are more friendly, makes anything more smooth in life. Ryoma, the main character that already feels the tough of life with passion while it breaks inside, gives a memento and a slight relatable situation. Where the gods offers him what he deserve for his passion, a chill life. With less conflict, this anime is intended to relief your inner sanctum. Generic, sounds pessimistic for this one. It has it's own feel. The feeling of having friends, the relationship is really close than your bonds with your father. It is not just "Nakama" power that are just brushes off when another plot is added. Even though in both world the main character has it's own daily chores,…

English: "Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko" immerses us in a magical world where the protagonist, Ryouma Takebayashi, is transported after experiencing difficulties in his previous life. Isolated in the forest, Ryouma finds solace in caring for and raising various types of slimes, resulting in a unique ability and great utility in this new world. One of the most notable aspects of this anime is the utilization of slimes. The way Ryouma trains and utilizes their abilities is fun and provides a fresh and original perspective. The slimes become valuable allies for Ryouma, adding a unique and enjoyable touch to the story. The protagonist is a standout character. His skills and self-sufficiency are impressive, and despite his childlike appearance, he displays remarkable maturity. This combination…

Seasonal isekai anyone? Animation is average, complete forgettable and uninspired, but not hideous. "Action scenes" are typically cut away from, and have zero suspense. Characters are fairly average, hardely any depth and mostly just empty shells that feign to have any emotions, but not the worst. Story is incredibly bare bones. Isekai, new world, op, magic... whoo exciting. There is literally no gimmick or any twists. Just kind of is. Pacing is slow and, if you are like me, will hardly keep your attention for more than a couple minutes at a time. Voice acting is pretty soulless and unconvincing. Relatively grating, but not the worst. Soundtrack is actually pretty decent, the op is alright and the ed is good, but not a great fit for the anime. There really isn't a whole lot to like about t…

As a manga reader, this adaptation was both nice to see and a bit disappointing. The manga is full of world building, lore, character growth, and some pretty good action that all get cut for the anime. They had a clear goal in mind for what point to end the season. It's a logical one, and they keep the pace pretty consistent. However, to get to that point, the show skips so much that it feels like parts and entire characters are missing. For example, the manga has a mini-arc and fight scene in the mines that's completely skipped. It's one of the only times the protagonist actually gets angry, which is also shown through his brutal attacks, and you learn more about him through the interaction. Skipping that fight makes him seem extremely bland and emotionless, and it's like if Dragon Ball…

I had some doubts about this anime at first, but I still decided to try. But after finishing this season I can say I have no regret to tried it. It's very chill, calm and feel good. No pressure comes from this anime and no unecessarily "fanservice" you can find in some Animes. It's of course not the anime of the year but it's definitely a good one to enjoy which can bring you some smiles and give you a peaceful feeling. The MC isn't the most charismatic one but that's not what we expect from this anime. He's still interesting in various way I won't quote to avoid to spoil. It's definitely a show I recommend !

As a manga reader i have to say that this is a huge disappointment, as they are changin the original story. They are going way too fast, and they skipped important scenes or added innecesary, for example. If you care, read the manga and compare the scene when he remembers his family when he comes back to the inn and hugs whit the other characters. You can see the diffrence of the emotions and the meaning of that part (as it has a lot of impact on Ryoma). I know that it isnt the first time this happened but if we compare the 2, we can agree that the original is faaaaar better. The characters also have been changed not too much but the relationships feel rushed and they are sloppy, and the environment/atmosphere is not defined (or defined poorly, in my opinion) and it is confusing, and…

Recently, I have been watching (and reviewing) comfort isekai, where the MC doesn't try to be edgy af or drown in tragedy (eg: shield hero, world's greatest assassin, saikyou onmyouji etc..). The best way to describe these comfort isekai is "An anime where MC solves all problems with his OPness and previous world knowledge smh". a good example is isekai nonbiri nouka, Plot: You can get the initial plot from summary of the anime, but MC basically running a business in isekai, while being an adventurer / tech inventor / slime researcher etc.. on the side. Good parts: * Vibe of the anime is really soothing. There is rarely a moment, where you feel tense. * Art/Music do a good job of keeping you immersed. * pretty much *every* character you meet is the nicest person on the planet. They…

8/10. If your looking for a break from all the excessive violence or fan service in anime and just want a nice slow relaxing anime in a fantasy world I suggest checking this out. Just makes me feel nice and cozy watching it. Art style is good not great, characters are all nice but nothing really special or engaging about them. Apparently I need more words in order to publish this review so I’ll just say that you probably won’t like this show if slow paced and and relaxing isn’t your vibe or if you need fan service or violence to entertain you.

This is the usual isekai where he has all the powers, literally all the magic, and he figures things out that no one else in the world managed to despite only having been there for three years. Everyone is always impressed by him, by everything he does. He's shy and always embarrassed about being praised, which is constantly. The praise goes further because he's a child, even though he's a forty year old japanese business man. The usual thing. Although it's extra weird because they seem to be pushing some romance with an actual child and, again, he's a forty year old japanese business man. Although the guy isn't some pervert and there's nothing sexual about it, so your choice on how weird you find it. He also starts out with super strength despite being in the body of a small child, to t…

If this anime were a food, it would be a single slice of bread. Not toasted, or buttered, or anything else. Just the plainest, most boring stuff you've ever watched. You can't really call it horrible, because there's barely anything there at all. Looking for a decent anime? This isn't that. Looking for a laughably horrible anime? This isn't that. I would only recommend you watch this if you like characters with very little depth succeeding with minimal challenge. While it is an isekai, this is one of those that you could entirely remove that part and nobody would care. The protagonist is just a generic middle aged man who works all day and has nothing else interesting about him. It's actually quite surprising that such a simple character is so rare in anime. Overall, this is probably th…

This anime is pretty much one big ego stroking exercise and there's pretty much no actual story or plot. Pretty much the entire show is just everyone gushing over this kid and how amazing he is and how he can do all these things they've never even seen before, he even has three gods watching out for him. I rated it a 5 but only because it's easily bingeable. I wouldn't say it's boring per se but there really is no plot. People find kid, take kid to a city, people leave. That's literally the entire plot. Everything else is just messing about like 12 episodes of filler. The protagonist has no real goal, is doing nothing to work towards that non-existent goal, has no real challenges to overcome, everyone loves him and is super kind to him and is friends with him. From that perspective I wou…

by the grace of the gods is a slice of life isekai. the art style is bright and relaxing (it does have some CGI horse that are very out of place). the story center around Ryoma a near 40yld man that died in is sleep after a life of hard so hard that after he reincarnated as a 8yld boy he hides in deep in a forest living is life doing his martial arts from is past life using and studying magic as well as slimes. Ryoma is an overpower MC with a lack of common knowledge of his new world. if you want a laid back isekai with little to no romance, violence or ecchi this the one for you
