maybe i’m just being too narrow about accepting the big reveal but i mean… i guess? it’s a shame too, the story is wonderful and it deals with heavy themes super well. all the characters are great, allow you to be care about what happens to them despite only having 12 episodes… shoutout to MC’s mum she’s amazing.
i accept that the time travel in this show requires some suspended belief so i won’t dwell on that, but all the actions of the MC are plausible, the supporting characters are deeper than expected and it’s animated in a way that is pleasing to look at. the child segments are amazing and imo the show was on track for a 9-10/10… up until the reveal, again.
the ending is clearly not rushed and everything comes full circle but that doesn’t necessarily mean i was a fan of the executi…

I'll keep it short.
Some anime are just fun and entertaining, while others have something to say about life. Erased is both.
Despite being entertaining, Erased makes you think more deeply about the past, the present, and the future, as well as the things we do and how they shape the course of our lives. And then there's that hero inside all of us, quietly showing up when we need him most, becoming a ray of hope during the darkest and most hopeless days of our lives, reminding us that there can still be a better tomorrow.
Satoru's journey is something we might all need at some point. The chance to go back to the past and fix what we messed up, do the things we should've done, say the things we never got to say, and sometimes do the opposite... And maybe Erased is also trying to tell us t…

Relative SPOILERS
This has to be one of the most overrated anime series out there. Why? The animation studio itself.
Who was the genius, the mastermind who thought it was a good idea to put the story’s killer right in the opening, dressed like a killer, and spoil the whole anime? Maybe it was some disgruntled employee at the animation studio, who knows. But it gets even worse when you realize someone, probably more than one person, approved this idea and let it air like that.
I don’t mind them including the main villain/antagonist in the opening. What’s wrong is that they make him look like a bad guy or a villain instead of showing him interacting like any other character or in a more neutral pose. They make it way too obvious. It’s like they’re saying, “Hey, look, this is the guy who’s…

From the flawless soundtrack to the incredible plot, everything about this show is beautiful.
This is a beautiful anime that is very well animated, and the plot is incredibly well executed. It is one of those rare, high-stakes mysteries that completely hooks you, to the point where I keep going back for more to rewatch it. Even though it is the same story every time I watch it, I still enjoy it just as much as the first time.
The production value is outstanding, t features amazing character design and amazing openings and endings that set the mood perfectly. The emotional journey is phenomenal, delivering a somber but also extremely happy and joyous ending that wraps up the story flawlessly. It is exactly the kind of tight, gripping narrative that stays with you long after it’s over.

Erased was one of the first suspense anime I ever watched, and it completely made me fall in love with the genre.
The premise is captivating right from the start: a man who gets sent back 18 years into the past to prevent the tragic kidnapping and murder of his childhood classmates, which ultimately connects to a tragedy in his present life.
Characters (10/10):
The core characters carry the story brilliantly. The bond between Satoru and Kayo is deeply emotional, sincere, and serves as the true heart of the anime. While some minor background friends don't get as much screen time, the main cast is so impactful and well-written that it completely overshadows any minor gaps.
Story (10/10):
The narrative keeps the suspense alive until the very end. The "Revival" phenomenon is treated more as…

I love most of this show, but needs a re-write to say the least.
First 8-9 episodes are great, but the ending falls completely flat due to its predictability and silly writing. Probably the biggest drop off of quality, and most disappointing end to an anime of all time.
Beautiful art style, amazing visuals, beautiful feels, great vibes, nostalgic. But presents itself as a "whodunnit" but doesn't actually know how to write one lol. It seems the storytellers were very interested in telling the story of a boy who travels back in time to save a girl, who he ends up falling in love with, but weren't interested in telling the story of how it all gets resolved. Very messy, very unfortunate.
Have many thoughts about how to finish this story properly, hopefully I can explore that one day.

Erased (Boku dake ga Inai Machi) isn't really about time travel... it's about regret. Time travel just happens to be the most convenient vehicle for exploring what many of us secretly wish we could do: go back in time and protect the people we failed, notice the warning signs we ignored, or simply be kinder when it mattered most.
What surprised me most was how effortlessly the show kept me hooked. Nearly every episode answered one question only to replace it with two more. It turned me into an amateur detective, constantly searching for clues and second-guessing every character. Few anime have made me so eager to start the next episode, not because of flashy cliffhangers, but because the mystery was intelligently paced and genuinely rewarding to unravel.
One aspect that was both strange…

Erased was that anime type that i really enjoyed it because it had time travel and i really liked how Satoru Fujinuma tried to save Kayo Hinazuki from the kidnapping and the abuse of her mother.
The story was perfect, the anime didnt say much about the story or backstory but the manga did and the story or backstory were amazing in my opinion.
The animation was amazing,in my opinion to be fair and it was just good, cant say much about it.
So overall Erased was a great anime because i liked the time travel idea and i liked the character of Satoru Fujinuma trying to save Kayo Hinazuki and the connection between them when Satoru goes when he was a kid,and i read the manga and it showed more in detail about everything because the anime at the end felt rushed, but even so it didnt stop me to giv…

I need to talk about this one. As a time travel fan, I really liked this anime. The story delivers a fantasy many of us have thought about, that of being able to go back in time as a kid with all the knowledge you have now and fix your mistakes. And they do it very well. There are mind games, self sacrifice, heroism. Good stuff.
However, there is one very big problem that stops this anime from being one of the greatest ever: the absolutely terrible last 2 episodes.
The way this amazing story ends is probably one of the worst I've ever seen compared to how good it was up until that point. Why did they do it like this, why throw everything down the drain right at the end; did they not have other ideas on how to end it? Did they actually think this was the best way to do it?
I don't know if…

Absolutely the best. Just about perfect story line, the music works well with the story. The drawing style is a bit distinct, and the faces a bit distorted. But the backgrounds are excellent. What draws this totally different, from most anime, is the tight story line. It is totally believable, and draws one in from the first episode. It is a much greater story than a simple time travel, do-over, story. In the story, the MC learns to get outside of himself. In reality, it is the value of friends, being true to yourself and to others that makes the difference. Once he learns this lesson, then he is able to save others, and himself as well. What he learns is empathy to a great deal, and this allows him to overcome isolation, self imposed, and to reach out to others as well.

For some reason Erased always peeked my interest.
but it took some time for me to actually watch it.
now as a young adult it really intriuged me and i am glad i watched it now, as i am older.
Erased, wow. i can't put into words how great this anime is to me. the characters are super intresting, realistic and likable.
I love how logically Satoru he took action with everything and it all made so much sense.
the thought behind the story is CRAZY GOOD!
Just watch it. i love Psychology and this is one of the best Psychological animes ever!

For a 12-episode anime, Boku dake is easily a 10/10 for me in this category.
It’s honestly a short masterpiece you just can’t forget. The art style is simple yet distinctive, but the real gem is the story itself and its characters. Who would’ve expected a story like this to head toward such an unexpected ending? And who would’ve thought the main character would end up in a situation that feels awkward, yet satisfying, and at the same time a bit heartbreaking?
Who would’ve thought that something you watched back in 2021 would still feel like a dream you keep going back to, without even realizing how great it actually was at the time?
A really solid, short anime — and I definitely recommend it without any doubt.

This anime pulls you in right from the start and never lets you go even after you've finished. Erased was such a beautiful, intriguing show I've been putting off for so long and I regret it. It was intense, with moments of nostalgia and love and heartfeltness sprinkled in between. It does a good job of catching you off guard once you feel secure enough to believe everything is going right. It does everything right for people with low attention spans, or people who need a certain amount of psychological depth and connection to rate a show a 10. Both of which are me. Highly recommend this show!!!

I believe there's a mixed color in this anime, something between the threshold of dark and light; formless, undefined. It's a feeling I had while watching, everything culminates in this emotion becoming part of the marathon. I feel it's an inspiration to believe, because it's better to believe, simply because perhaps that way it's more scorching.
The city where only I don't exist is a particularly melancholic, but also beautiful theme. I believe it perfectly shows how there's a fine line between loneliness and companionship. I mean, at first it's easy to see that loneliness is the primary focus, a life full of mistakes and lack of action, but ultimately we see that the time lost wasn't really lost, but necessary. I believe that if each of us looks at our lives with this same belief, perha…

What a beautiful anime this was.
I watched all 12 episodes in a single day and finished it. I can’t even describe how much I enjoyed watching it on a winter day. It truly felt like I could feel the winter atmosphere in the anime myself.
At first, I thought I was about to watch the anime version of The Butterfly Effect, but it didn’t turn out to be exactly that—and honestly, I think that was for the better. However, the ending reminded me a bit of the ending of the Harry Potter movies, which made me slightly disappointed. Still, everything else was as good as I said—really, really good.

"Oh wow! It's an anime about time travel or re-doing the past. It's like steins gate and re zero. For steins gate and re zero fans, rejoice. It's your type of favorite anime." or so you thought. The first episode alone leaves a good impression, especially for steins gate and re zero fan. The MC has an ability to go back to the past and redoing his life to prevent an incident. The first thing the MC should do is identify the "Villain", which is the main problem in this show.
If you have at least an average level of intuition, maybe even below average level of intuition, and you also watch the show without looking at your phone while watching which many people do, you will know the "Villain" of this show after few episodes. They didn't give you the specific, but they are actually subtly te…

This anime reminded me a lot of Death Note, probably because it also focuses on solving difficult cases. However, it has a stronger moral tone, where kindness, loyalty, friendship, and unconditional support connect us with empathy and hope. It delivers a message about self-confidence through reconnecting with our inner, dreamy child—the one who believes anything is possible.
Just like the protagonist, who felt hopeless before traveling back in time and reliving his childhood, the story manages to break the wall that separates us from living life on autopilot and guides us toward the life we truly want—the one we’ve dreamed of since we were children.
Overall, it is a very inspiring anime, one that makes you want to remember Satoru every time you face failure or hopelessness. You should ne…

'Erased' is a mystery anime where the protagonist has the ability to go back in time in order to prevent crimes. The show focuses on its large cast of characters as well as on the mission to unveil the killer's identity.
The time travel motif is likely the strongest part of the anime, having a life of its own as a metaphor rather than being a crude plot device. The main character doesn't merely use the ability in order to prevent tragedies, but also to live his past days 'better' in certain aspects. People often feel as though they hadn't lived 'well enough', and that is the feeling which the story touches upon here. The protagonist's attempts to improve the way he had acted in the past frequently cause something unexpected to go awry. He only manages to improve things after going back an…

Erased was really really good. The story was a cool concept that I believe to have been well-executed. The story revolved around a unique idea with Satoru's Revival power. There were a lot of layers throughout the show and it frequently left me wondering what would happen next, making for an interesting mystery show that is sure to keep you hooked. The characters were written well, and I especially liked everything that went on with Kayo.
The only thing really stopping me from giving it a 10 is that a few things were left unanswered. I dislike when my questions aren't answered, and unfortunately that happened here, so it had to be knocked down a bit. Definitely give it a watch though.

If you've already seen the first season of Steins;Gate and Re:ZERO, this series probably won't have the same effect. Erased starts with an interesting idea and a pace that, at the time of its release, could have truly kept you on the edge of your seat. However, revisiting it today, in 2025, after having already absorbed works that play more sophisticatedly with temporal paradoxes, psychological tension, and mystery-building, ends up making it very predictable.
After a few episodes, you already know who the villain is, and this takes away much of the impact the series was aiming to build. In 2016, when the genre wasn't yet so overused and we hadn't seen plots as elaborate as those of Steins;Gate or Re:ZERO, surprise worked much better. Today, however, we find ourselves following the story…
