Introduction

Severe internet addiction has become an epidemic infecting the nation's youth, ultimately resulting in their extreme dependence on the world wide web. He learns from the head instructor that he was knocked out and brought to the school at his mother's behest, concerned with how belligerent her son was becoming as a result of his internet addiction. Ive never seen anime like this before but thats literally wow. The MC its just an addict to videogames living his life at his lowest but then he find's out that now he's in this "school" which the teachers beats the students up if they don't respect a rule or don't complete an assignament, the protagonist is weak and has to find out a way to adapt there and to leave that place asap bc nobody know how much the students have to be there, probably forever... Ive never seen an anime with this story but im pretty new to this world tho. This anime is 100% for teenegers or more adults bc there is a lot of violence, i reccomend this anime to people who dont have problems watching violence.

Usually this isnt my type of anime, and honestly no idea why its under the chategory thriller, but listen to me: My friend asked me which anime im watching and this is how i explained this plot: "Internett addicted teenages being sent to military training camp which the boss is a femdom boss with submissive workers at the school. A hint of Tokyo revengers where a cry baby rise UP to help the weak ones. Have alot of plottwist with fullfilling backstory of the mail characters. Be aware the show container also rape and drugs but im a small way and not dirrect way. (Its not a hentai)" This isnt a show u will feel "woow i love it" but its not bad Either. Its more of a "relaxing sunday, chilling in bed " type of show. The story dosent feel rushed, and they managed to rund it off nicely and a v…

The story is overall decent young people are addicted to the internet they go to a school that's supposed to help them get rid of their addiction but really the school basically abuses them makes them work out 7 hours a day and give them food that taste horrible and if you mess up at all you get beat it seems like the story had more potential that they failed to reach. The art I can't say it was amazing it wasn't horrible but I've seen worse it seems like it was rushed or the animators didn't try that hard to make it look really good The sounds I gave it a five because well I don't really care about sound so I'm not going to harshly judge that. Characters are five because one of them goes through changes in a short amount of time and they don't really make sense he goes from being a fre…

So despite my bad rating of it, I actually liked this series and would argue it's fairly good. Why? I like edgy things, when I say edgy I mean 2012 deviant kind of edgy. Now to someone looking for something that is critically good, you wont find it here, the story isn't beautiful or meaningful, the animation is literal trash and the voice acting/soundtrack is non-existent. (I watched it without the sound on, and if you decide to watch this I'd recommend doing that too.) If you are here for something a lot more dark, and gritty, to a point it is un-realistic and disgusting to an extent, this is where to find it! I rarely find anime's which are this dark that also have actually have happy endings or at least, give satisfying results. Horribly stupid and depressing things happen, and the…

Guys, this anime is bad.And not the "oh it has some bad things but pretty enjoyable" bad, this is "i want to carve the producer's eyes out with a rusty spoon for doing this"bad. The idea that internet addiction is a pandemic and there is a school to cure it is a pretty good idea, just the terrbile characters ruined it. Characters-1: The characters are just terrible. If I let my cat dance on my keyboard for 50 hours then my cat would make deeper characters. My four year old little cousin made a better character to his lego rackoon.Just...terrible. Story-3:The story itself was not that bad, just millions of plot holes. Sound-1:Did they even try making it any good? The laughs, giggles and the voice acting overall was just...i cannot physically write a bad enough word for it. Art-7:I actually enjo…

An underdeveloped plot doesn't help the absurd synopsis play out any better; this is not a series for narrative-driven anime fans. The characters are either samey, copy-paste sticks without personality or fall into standard anime tropes—few of which actually make sense within context. Yet so bleak and nihilistic and overbearing is the tone of Evil or Live that it becomes kind of compelling despite everything else. The animation is surprisingly solid with a few really nice action sequences and creative flourishes. The introduction even uses some live action, which creates a pretty unique tone. A spot of live action can't, unfortunately, make the entire series feel unique (it's not), but there were definitely some interesting aesthetic decisions made. Far from a must-see, but if you're loo…

OMG! Where to start with this anime? It has been a while since i rated an anime with a solid 10. Before watching Evil or Live i didn't know internet addiction could be such a serious issue in some societies,i.e people's republic of china. Although not completely unheard of, "internet addiction" spawned some interesting reads about the subject from my behalf.I came to find out that such reform camps like in the series actually do actually exist in the PRC for better or worse, which took me by suprise. Story is about an "internet addicted" teenager who gets send in an elite reeducation facility by his mother. The mc got into his addiction by falling under school and parental pressure which caused him to detach from the real world and emerge in the world of online gaming, basically neglectin…

"In this world full of violence, only the strong can be righteous."-Hibiki Evil or Live is actually Classroom of the Elite yet it is darker, and has the same pecking order. Evil of Live is basically the package, torture,rape/sex,incessant beatings. Of course, wisdom and power, is the dominant trait that secures power in this school. It may very well be a similar depiction of what is happening with 're-education' camps in China where muslim Uyghurs are forcefully relocated and have to undergo similar treatments. It is made by a Chinese company but still very well written in terms of atrocities that is happening in the real world, where human rights violation are occuring. Even though the art style is not nearly as sophisticated as Classroom of the Elite, the story is well written and portra…

Evil or Live reminds me somehow of Prison School but thinking about that anime was a comedy I don't know what to say about this one. Looks a little bit stupid for a ''psychological'' anime expecially on first episodes. But I appreciate that the main character was weak without any power or anything else but he succeed to be ''the badass'' during episodes only with ambition and determination. Even tho he tried to change his attitude his heart remains pure protecting Shiori and the rest of the class. Except the main character I hated all of them with all my heart, they really pissed me off expecially Shin(I don't care about his past I still think that he is a piece of shit) The ending was kind of bad to be honest.

Very underrated show. Art 6/10 The art style could have been better. The animators were trying to go for a horror film-esque look by throwing in a film grain to make the show look more grim and dark but it was completely unnecessary and could have been easily avoided. The reason for the 6 is because the characters don't look that bad even though there isn't enough detail put into their design. Story 10/10 The story is about kids put in a rehabilitation school who must come to terms with their addiction and try to change themselves if they want to be leave. The story tries to make you feel uncomfortable with psychological projections that leave you wanting more. It's a feeling that many of the top anime leave you with in the end. Beautiful throughout the season. Sound 6/10 Lip syncing w…

The story/concept was actually a rather original idea. While a lot of people are stating that the art was bad, I found that it was alright and was relatively unfazed by it. It's rated 16+ for good reason, as it does have a ton(and I mean a ton) of inappropriate scenes. (Oops, I am under 16, and when I watched this I was hardly a teenager, but oh well...) I was watching this while it aired, and boy oh boy, every Tuesday, I was really, really excited to get home to watch the next episode. It wasn't that it was good, but rather that it had elements that continuously dragged me into the story with every new episode. That's why my rating on how much I enjoyed it was so high. Sadly, from what I remember, the characters were all rather bland- although they all had different backgrounds/stories, t…

Alright there is so many things they could have done with this anime. One thing they could have done was answer all the questions the viewers had while watching it, for example they could have talked more about what happened after the ending like what happened to Shin, and Hibiki, or talked about the plan in order to get everyone to rebel against the school, or what happened to Shin while Hibiki was trying to rule the school. There is just to many questions. Also the story was doing just fine before in my opinion it just came to the last 2 episodes. Im not saying the show was bad but they could have done some things to fix it you know. Ohh and art and sound 10/10 because I think everyone has there own way of art style and sound i know was not the greatest but still 10/10 because the studio…

This is my first review ever, and I will keep this short, because this... thing isn't worth anything more. I decided to watch it because it was the "psychological" genre, synopsis sounded interesting. Ratings weren't good, but it all comes down to personal preferences and feelings, right? Since the first moments I was accompanied by a "what the frick is this?!" thought. But I'd had already these kinds of feelings with other series, so I wanted to give it a try. It was a mistake. Somewhere in the middle of the story I had some kind of enlightment. "Maybe this is a parody? Maybe it was supposed to be a comedy?", but further development proved me wrong. It could have been a good, dark, heavy story. What we got is an awful, dark, painful to watch story, with shallow characters, with annoying…

Potential Spoilers. I didn’t really think about this review before I started writing it, so this review may not actually contain any spoilers, but then again it might, so I put a warning just in case. I just finished the last episode about 10 minutes before writing this review. I’ve read a few of the others and personally I have no clue what the people who are rating this show 7+ are talking about or how they could think it’s that good. At the same time everyone who rated this show a 2 or a 1, I think that’s a bit harsh. But reviews are opinions, and everyone is entitled to them. Personally, I found this show to be very lacking in a number of ways, BUT I will say that although the story is very flawed, it was also strangely interesting. I didn’t particularly enjoy the show, but after ev…

Story 7: The story is decent, better than a lot of average anime's. Being that it's an adaptation off of a chinese manga. Art 6: it has good moments but there is a lot of bad moments of off modeling and lazy animation. But there were some stylistic choices throughout that surprised me and that I enjoyed. Sound 8: Average voice acting, but the reason I gave it an 8 is because of the music. for a lot of the important moments they have great tracks that aren't generic and have there own style to them. Character 7: Most characters were average. There was a few that were well written and not cliche. Enjoyment & Overall 7: First anime I finished in a long time because nothing holds my attention and I get bored of the recycling of character types and storylines. I watched this all at once b…

This anime was really good. I like how they mixed up all the misery with a good laugh. Have watched more of the HAOLINERS production and they have some good stuff. Like bloodivores, and some others. I felt a sort of connection to then cause what happened in my past (not going in detal) My favorite character is shin, I doubded it first but in the end its still my favorite. It's done pretty realistc with some fiction in there too. Actally is really really sad but I jsut dont wanna spoil anything >.> But it resembles that this story apart from all the fiction does happen in real life, mabey not exactly like that or for those reasons. But it exists. I actually think this need a second season. To see what happened to everyone after ''that thing'' happened.

===Talkin about why people hate this anime=== After looking at my 10/10 rating for this anime, you probably think I'm an easy to impress type of person when It comes to anime. Now I know I probably don't look that reliable for a real review, I don't really make that many reviews unless people hate on an anime that actually was pretty good, or that I'm just lazy. Anyways this anime was apparently based on a real thing in China which kinda surprised me in a way, i guess, not really, but I think people only hate on this anime because In a sense, it kinda hates on gamers or social media addicts. Not really effecting me because I'm not a supper obsessive about phones and gaming. Now I am a gamer and I do use my phone a lot but this anime shows the reality for some people and I guess it kinda ma…

On one hand there are people that just hate this anime and rate it below 3, on the other there people that love it and rate it over 7. The first group hates it because it has bad art, sound and supposedly characters. The second group just thinks that art and sound are secondary and they focus on pretty good story and message hidden in it. I personally to the second group. First characters. Some say they dumb, annoying, easy to manipulate, but guess what? People are dumb, annoying and easy to manipulate. Characters are realistic, they aren't plain and have some backstory and some of them even evolve. Overall i think they are pretty good. Story is a good one too. It makes sense, there's always some action and there no boring bits. It kept me entertained and made thinking about what just h…

Evil or Live is a anime which takes place in the 21th century(internet). This aspect plays an important role in this story. I find this aspect pleasant, i can make more connections between me and the characters. Additionally, this anime treats on a very important aspect in today's times : it is about internet addiction. As someone who's life revolves quite alot on internet, i find it pleasant to view the thinking of the author on it and what solutions people can find to solve this. The plot line of Evil or Live is decent. Nothing much to say on it. However, I find the changes in the mind of the main character drastic. From a delusional gamer to a lust filled boy to a cold hearted person, the changes are big. Furthermore, the degree of intelligence has also changed drastically. In the b…

So, the first episode of this kind of threw me. In fact, I was fully prepared to drop this anime. However, I checked out some of the reviews on MAL, and apparently, this anime is meant to take the piss out of millennials. Somehow, that made it more watchable for me. I think the premise of Internet Addiction seemed like nonsense and a very thin idea to make an anime out of, but as soon as I found out that Evil or Live was a satirical take on my generation, it completely changed. Also, I'd like the record to show that this isn't a comedy as some have said. It's quite a serious, intense anime, but the overall plot of Internet Addiction is meant as a bit of a joke. Although, I don't think it's the creators trying to imply that my generation is addicted to the internet, but rather, I think th…
