Going into this anime I had high expectations because of how coveted and endeared this show is to many people and how it is a staple in many anime conversations. Now I finally have understood the hype behind this show. The plot of this show is very simple, but the biggest part is the characters and the relationships that make it stand out and drive the story. I really loved the cast: Mio, Ritsu, Mugi, Yui, Azusa, Sawako, Nodoka, Ui, and many more. I love how all the characters have their own mannerisms and personalities making them and their interaction throughout the cast feel real and not forced (especially the banter). I also love how there's character development in the characters and we explored their past. Though I would've liked to see other characters’ past to be explored since the…

I watched K-On!! in 2025. Damn, I really missed a GOAT for like 16 years.
This is easily one of the best high-school slice of life anime of its era. lol
Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit.
But honestly, it’s an old anime that’s crazy good.
A lot of anime from the 2020s can’t even come close.
The characters are adorable, no sexual harassment, no fking fan service.
Just a pure, lovely band and good vibes all around. The story is told really well, from their first year all the way to graduation.
It genuinely moved me. I haven’t felt this kind of emptiness and loneliness after finishing an anime in years.
Absolutely deserved all the hype it had back in the 2010s.

Ok, here we go for the fifteenth time:
Characters:
-Principals: They've been able to take advantage of every girl in the group during these 26 episodes (7/7).
-Secondary: Pretty much the same here, I love it (3/3).
Logic:
There are a lot of details that give it that little realistic touch (9/10).
Entertainment (Personal): It got better as the episodes progressed.(8/10).
The basics in an anime:
-Animation: The animation style is good and almost unique for that era (2/2).
-Music: I manage to like it, that's enough (1/2).
-Vice: Just for the graduation theme of the main group, I got a little addicted (1/2).
-Tag fulfillment: As long as it's “Award Winning” as well as being able to fill a playlist with their “Music” it's more than enough.(2/2)
-Ending: It was touching, but episode 20 was m…

K-on's second season and somehow manages to top the first season.
Everything about the second season is just as good as the first with some famous moments occurring within (such as the strawberry incident.) Being a slice of life anime it very much delivered upon that fact giving us 27 new slice of life episodes for us to experience. Somehow they made something so simple as the daily lives of Ho-kago tea time become emotional towards the end and it made many people tear up. It very much adds onto the elements of season one and gives us an extended story and shows us what their final year of high school was like.
And again the music was flawless in this anime. All four of the OP and outros are so memorable with amazing music and amazing animation.
10/10 Second season would watch again.

K-On!! is the 2nd season of the anime and it pretty much adds more of what was seen in the previous season but with the added dread of the seniors of the club graduating that is apparent from the first few episodes of the 2nd season. There's more of tea and cakes, more of music, more of the cast just interacting and doing extra stuff that includes the school and not just the club itself to make it more lively.
While the 1st season's timeline goes fairly fast, the 2nd season takes advantage of all the episodes to bake something that leads towards to the graduation of the clubs seniors, with a whole lot more development in many ways plus their faces look less moe and more mature as time goes on to set the tone on what's about to come.
The 2nd season overall is still as faithful as ever whe…

Yui Hirasawa is honestly one of the best-crafted moe characters in anime. Usually, when creating a naturally airheaded and cute girl, it’s easy to make her come off as just plain dumb instead of endearing. But Naoko Yamada and her team nailed the small details that make Yui feel like a genuinely innocent child living her best life.
On the music front, I really vibe with “Fuwa Fuwa Time” and “Touched by an Angel.” The rest of the songs are kind of meh to me, maybe because the characters spent more time drinking tea than actually practicing. By the time they graduated, they didn’t have many standout performances, which is kind of a bummer, but oh well, it’s part of their charm.
I gave this anime a solid 9/10, but funny things is, when it first came out, I dropped it after one episode of se…

The concept of moe anime girls playing in a band sounds like something only a true degenerate could enjoy. But that isn’t the case for K-On. I’ll have you know, the average K-On enjoyer is someone who would eat a bowl of nails without milk for breakfast. While at first glance it seems to just be cute girls doing cute stuff, it is much deeper than you think. The show actually has meaningful themes, such as finding people you belong with and not wasting the time that you have with them.
K-On can get very heartfelt and is able to make viewers emotional, but it is also known for its very cheerful side as well. The show has a dumb charm to it, and is always willing to be funny and joyful. Few shows are able to provide me with an enjoyment similar to that of the whimsy in K-On. The majority of…

Man, I was super involved in K-On!! Honestly, Graduation is one of the best-written episodes I have seen in a while. Also, bear with me there will be a lot of Bocchi comparisons haha.
The Story: The story was actually good. Overall an improvement from Season 1. In this season, I can see character development and time actually passes as well. In season 1 barely any character development. Asuza also developed as well. The humor is subjective but in many episodes, I laughed a lot. In the graduation episode, I almost cried. Emotions are strong. But what I have noticed is the first 10ish episodes are there along for the ride but the last 7ish episodes PICKED IT UP. Man. If the last 7-8 episodes was their own season, that would be an easy easy easy 10 in my book. The story is about a SoL (Slic…

If you ever feel tired of life I guarantee that this will revive you.
It further expands on already good season 1, resulting in an absolute masterpiece with phenomenal music, art, animation and especially characters and atmosphere that are just outstanding in the second season.
And all of that just from "high school girls in music club having some tea". It is hard to describe just how wholesome and moe this show is and I admit I shed a few (wholesome) tears here and there (especially at the end). And honestly the show is so wholesome that I'm not even embarrassed to admit it (well maybe a bit).
There is only ONE bad thing with this show and it is not about the show itself:
[DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FEEL SAD]
"Time has stopped when it comes to you"
The creative people who wo…

[This review considering whole series!!]
I'm the bone of my gitah,
Cake is my body,
Tea is my blood,
Have withstood pain to create over one thousand songs,
Unknown to practice,
Nor known to rehearse, I've created over one thousand songs,

I've knew about K-ON through a lot of meme about manly show and it was pretty hilarious.I hooked to look for it in MAL.Initially, I did think I can't enjoy it as it seems such a girly show. However,I decided to give a chance for this and I surprisingly enjoy it.
All are girls?Playing music stuff?Guitar?Don't get wrong idea.It is a manly show and everyone can enjoy it.It's a healing Slice-Of-Life anime where we have cute girls doing such a cute thing suc…

This is a love letter to K-On, so if you're searching for a comprehensively and objectively driven review then this isnt for you. And also, this review is of K-On in general, not just the second season, it's just that the second season touched on a lot of the things I mentioned here so I thought it was the most suiting one.
There are few shows that can capture flawlessly what they’re trying to portray: sometimes some pieces go missing amidst the plot, sometimes the characters are not convincing enough, or maybe the story isn’t even one that you can fully relate to or immerse yourself in. There are few shows that hit all the spots right… and K-On did it in such a beautiful and raw way that I can’t even begin to describe it. In fact, I won’t really, because this is a love letter, and ration…

This anime is a absolute masterpiece. The story while essentially plot-less other than a few high school girls in a tea drinking, food eating, and once in a while music playing club is immensely enjoyable. Season two is just as good as the prior but perhaps even better with 26 episodes to watch. The voice actors do their job to the T and the music is outstanding. While it is absolutely not ground breaking the anime is one of the most enjoyable I have ever seen, with the art-style on top of it all being unique. K-ON is a 10/10 without a doubt.

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW
After watching the first season of K-On!, naturally i advanced to the second. This season is twice as long as the first and i watched it over a pretty long period of time. Let´s get into it.
Story - 7/10
I mean, like i already mentioned in my review for season one, story is definitely not the main appeal of this show. Even for slice-of-life standards, there is really not much going on. The main appeal of this show has always been it´s relaxing and simple vibe. It is the perfect thing to watch in almost every situation, whereas other shows sometimes get better or worse depending on the current mood of the watcher. I would still score this category higher than the first season mainly because 1)It is longer and features more activities and 2)because the entire…

Finding the words to describe just how much I enjoyed K-On may be difficult. I'm going to do it anyway.
Coming into this season after having watched season 1, I expected to be met with the same cuteness and carefree whimsy that season 1 gave me. For the most part, that was what I received. What I wasn't prepared for was just how much I grew to love each and every character and their personalities.
From an outside perspective, the members of the Light Music Club seem a bit bland and a bit TOO normal, but that's a huge strength: relatability. These characters are the kinds of people you may have known in high school, or you yourself may have had a very similar personality to any one of them. They feel incredibly real and their experiences as a silly group of friends resonates with many as…

I thoroughly enjoyed the first K-On! season, appreciating the moe characterizations coupled with adorable music. While the story was majorly episodic, it worked for what it was, as there was no firm story that it was trying to tell; instead allowing us to follow the high school years of the HTT light music club.
Coming into this second season, I had actually put it off for quite some time, taking long breaks after only a few episodes at a time. The reason for this was simple, I was getting bored. However, I wasn't exactly bored of K-On, but bored with the slice of life genre that relied on dialogue more than content. Then after a long enough hiatus, I returned. And oh boy I'm glad I did.
Like the first season, the second doesn't rely too much on a story more than it does its characters. Wh…

I saw this on TV back then but I thought it sucks,
I decided to watch it after seeing a Youtube video and I am interested watching it
Story 9/10: I'm huge fan of Kyoto animation, the story is basically about 5 girls in high school who plays instruments until the graduation. I was interested to the story but some of episodes are kind of boring for me but still they are pretty good most of them. Would highly recommending watch this anime.
Art 10/10: I love their art style they are really good and masterpiece and better than most of new anime. The Art style looks like 2016 but its 2009 anime. Kyoto animation makes the best art style.
Sound 10/10: I love their music, specially Fuwa Fuwa Time, U&I, GO! GO! MANIAC and other song that is my type.
Characters 10/10: every characters here are…

This anime take place entirely in their 3rd year. Except for one junior who still in her 2nd year. Even though there is a music genre, don't expect a lot of music. They're more focusing on friendship here. While yes there is some episode where they sing, but still its not as much as other anime music.
Story 10/10
The story is just an ordinary story about schoolgirls do their daily life. You watch them talking, goofing, and drinking tea every episode. Nothing special, thats what you think at first until you finished the show. When it ends, you realize its all important. Because you watch their daily life, you know what kind of people are they. You know their favourite food, you know their favourite band, you know their personality. Without realizing your bond get more deeper and deeper wit…

K-On!!. K-On! with another exclamation mark, and for good reason. It's just that much better. I can't recommend this show enough, and here's why.
I won't repeat everything I've written in my K-On! review, since many of the points, especially the good ones, still ring true in this sequel. This season's art, in particular, is absolutely outstanding. It looks amazing, the colors are lively, and the animation is great fun to watch.
The story and pacing, which I criticized a bit in the first season, has come back much, much, improved. The anime feels good to watch, and everything feels paced correctly. Not much to say other than that it's good!
The gags have also returned better than ever, and seems to have settled in a healthier, less repetitive spot as compared to the first season (haha, b…

"Tanoshi koto wa tanoshi" ~Yui Hirasawa
An anime which I had dropped two times even before going to the second episode, now has become my favourite anime. This isn't a typical slice of life anime with literally no progression. An anime which I can finnaly say as "my all time favourite anime". Story 9/10: I'm a big fan of slice of life anime. The story is about 5 highschool students who play instruments and drink tea. Doing things that every highschool student would do. I was pretty intrested in story, as the story felt it was was moving without any progression but it actually was. It never made me feel bored.
Art 10/10: I'm a fan of kyoani anime, and their beautiful art style. The art was wonderful, with the execution of each scene the art helped a lot making this anime an masterpiece.…

K-On is one of the greats because of its incredible longevity. I am writing this review almost 12 years after its debut, and the main thing that struck me about it is how good it looks compared to modern anime. This will always be remembered as a work that had 110% effort put into it from day one, excepting perhaps, the trouble of animating more musical scenes. I'm inclined to forgive it for this solely for its spectacular season 2 opening, where the camera spins around the band in full CGI, but looks like perfect 2D animation. I kept watching it over and over trying to find something off about it, and I just couldn't.
The other most memorable thing, of course, are the characters. Every single one of the girls, besides being ridiculously adorable, are full of personality and individual ch…
