There's spoilers in Season 1-3 but spoiler free for the show
Ngl this anime good, it already should've finished in season 3. But adding another sequel after season 3 is overkill. The story is good. but it's just forcing itself to be a really good ending. Kaguya and Shirogane has more development here. But it's better if they make it as more episodes in seasons before season 3 than adding more as sequels. Speaking of Season 3, it should've stopped there. There's no point of continuing.
So why mixed feelings instead of Not recommended? It's because development, also the way they're trying to resolve their relationship after Season 3 is good. And also the comedy is still here but it's worse(might be my opinion but who knows). Also the objective of this anime is try to make the other fall in…

Let me be frank: Kaguya Sama Love is War is literally my favorite romcom of all time. I used to write predictions and stuff about this manga/anime and also very invested in the community. To me the adaption of this Christmas arc is not up to the mark. Till season 3 a lot of minor events were skipped but never did they miss a single line from the main stories. Yet it feels very sad that they could not make the adaption upto my expectations. They missed the whole Ishigami character arc+ Tsubame arc which they just showed in memories for 10 SECONDS? IT WAS 5 CHAPTERS MINIMUM!!!!! The shopping part was not important so skipping it for anime ain’t a big deal. I did love the Kaguya and Miyuki part’s adaption. But I think the anime is focusing too much in the main characters now. Kaguya Sama was…

This review's score is retroactively based upon the state of series after the "Stairway to Adulthood" special released.
I first experienced this part of the series in the manga, and while I have some minor issues with the presentation on how the theatrics are upped too much compared to the manga in my tastes, this is mostly about how A-1 Pictures is massively mistreating the series.
This movie is the start of the insanely aggressive cutting the studio has started making in order to solely focus on Kaguya and Miyuki's romance, throwing away all the subarcs of other characters, including the very critical and incredibly made arc of Ishigami and Tsubame.
It wouldn't have been a problem if the left out parts of the manga were just going to be adapted later in a theoretical season 4, but sadl…

In the beginning, I wasn't a big fan of Kaguya, but she grew on me as the series went on. However, this pretty much threw it all away, and I found myself absolutely despising her. Think of it like Jaimie Lannister's character arc in Game of Thrones: He starts off insufferable, and then becomes somewhat noble and relatable, only to throw it away at the end.
Seasons 2 and 3 of the show really picked up with the comedic elements, but this almost completely did away with all of that.
Honestly, I don't recommend this. Season 3 had a good ending. Maybe the next OVA (Kaidan) will bring some redemption, but I don't have much hope for it. This is supposed to be a romcom, correct?

What a great film. It starts funny and gradually shifts into a character study of Kaguya and her views on life and love. You get a look into Kaguya's head; her fears, her past and how she plans into taking the next steps regarding the president.
The moments between Kaguya and Shirogane are sweet and tender as they take the next step in their relationship. You do feel the story going somewhere.
As usual, it’s wonderfully animated, with a great soundtrack, plenty of funny moments, and some genuinely lovely scenes. Hayasaka as usual is best girl.
Eagerly waiting for the next project.

This anime film, 'Kaguya-sama: The First Kiss That Never Ends', is the epitome of artistic bankruptcy. It perfectly encapsulates the way in which so many franchises plummet off the deep end, veering from their premise and betraying their roots.
The premise of two geniuses in an absurd competition to make the other confess his crush first is funny, but it should only last for a few manga volumes and one or two anime seasons. The author Aka Akasaka probably knew that, which is why the plot very unnaturally morphs into a drama as it nears the end.
That's all well and good, but I just don't care about these characters enough to want to watch an unironic drama about them. These characters were established to me as jokes, so what do you expect? Even if the drama arcs were the most nerve-wracki…

"Kaguya-sama: Love is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends-" is the first entry in the "Love is War" series to not feel like it is a part of the "Love is War" series. This movie almost fully takes the "com" out of "romcom" and replaces it with a pretty realistic introspective into the insecurities both men and women have in a romance.
The movie starts with a completely unnecessary "little-Kaguya" sequence just to forcibly squeeze the last bit of comedy out of the Love is War series. After that, it gets very dark (subject matter and color palette). The meat of this movie is Kaguya dealing with her insecurities of being a genuinely harsh and mean person (due to how she was raised) and Miyuki's insecurities of not measuring up enough (status/manliness/assertiveness) to stand by Kaguya. The m…

This is my review for all the seasons and the movie:
The comedy was spot on hilarious and had me laughing out loud! The romance was fantastic as well. I’ll be honest, I wish there had been more fan service, but overall, it was still incredibly enjoyable.
I just finished reading the manga and was heartbroken when it ended, but then I discovered the 同人版, which was amazing!
Seeing them kiss in the movie felt incredibly rewarding. Definitely recommend you all start watching or read the anime and manga!
I really liked Ishigami also, I felt for him at times, but he’s such a chill and relatable character.
(All the opening never misses and the all the Ed was special)

This is a (mostly) spoiler-free review for the whole animated series.
TLDR: Strong comedy, weak romance.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War is great when it leans into comedy. The humour is fast-paced, clever and delivered with style, making the early episodes especially engaging. But, as the series goes on, the comedic formula starts to feel repetitive, and the school setting shifts more towards a slice-of-life by chance set in a school than a focused school romance. The idea is that it's a battle of brains in love, but the romance is frustratingly slow and surface-deep.
The characters' development is a bit hit and miss. Some of the side characters, like Iino and even Ishigami get solid arcs, but the leads - Kaguya and Miyuki - don't really evolve until the final episodes. Fujiwara, despite bein…

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War -The First Kiss That Never Ends develops the characters better than the show could do across three seasons. It dives deeper into who Kaguya and Shirogane really are, not just the lovey dovey, over-the-top versions we usually see, but two people hiding behind their masks. The show has the opportunity to really explore what love means to them and why they both feel the need to be the first to confess, but it never fully does. The movie at least tackles the first part, especially with Kaguya, how she wants Shirogane to take the kiss and what that means for her. But the reasoning behind Shirogane's obsession with confession still feels underexplored.
It also helps that the movie takes its time with these moments. The Christmas setting and the quieter atmospher…

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai is a satisfying and heartfelt continuation of the beloved series, delivering a deeper exploration of its characters' emotions while retaining the humor and charm fans have come to love. Picking up directly after the monumental events of Ultra Romantic, this movie focuses on what happens after Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane’s long-awaited first kiss, exploring their evolving relationship with a mix of comedy, drama, and romance.
What makes The First Kiss That Never Ends stand out is its willingness to move beyond the “battle of wits” formula and delve into the emotional complexities of its characters. Kaguya, in particular, takes center stage as she grapples with her feelings and insecurities, making this installment one of the most…

More of a review for the show overall. Love is War starts off good, with an enjoyable formula, but not one that should kept being milked over and over again. But that's pretty much what happens, episode after episode. One season of narrowly missed confession or any real progress works. But 3.5 seasons of that same thing happening gets stale, and it gets old.
To take a romcom I actually enjoyed, Horimiya, works well in part because even within the span of a single season, the relationship actually progresses while Love is War is stuck trying to pull off the same bit 3 seasons later.

I just emerged from the most satisfying cinematic experience of my life. As a die-hard fan of the series, I was both excited and nervous about this movie. Would it do justice to the characters I've grown to love? The answer is a resounding yes.
This movie masterfully wraps up the storylines, giving each character the closure they deserve. I laughed, I cried (a lot), and I cheered as Miyuki and Kaguya finally got their moment. That first kiss? Absolutely breathtaking. I felt like I was right there with them, feeling the tension and excitement.
What struck me most was how the movie stayed true to the spirit of the series while still feeling fresh and new. The animation was stunning, the music was perfect, and the voice acting was sublime.
I've invested so much emotional energy into this s…

It might be a bold statement to say that this anime is among one of the better romances out there. The show captures the realistic aspects of love really well. The show has its own idea of love and how it's meant to be, some might not agree with it. But overall it is a beautiful and emotional story.
The show has a way to grab the viewers attention even when nothing serious is happening. You can feel the subtle hint that it is building up to something.
The story itself isn't something new, but what makes this show so special is how the characters are portrayed and how their personalitites affect others around them.
Althouh the main focus is the relationship between the mains casts, the comedy in this show is quite hillarious, and there's no room for complaint when it comes to the music.…

First of all, just watch the whole show and watch this movie. If you don't watch Kaguya-Sama, you might not regret it but I would regret it for you :(. This thing is a masterpiece. I really really liked the whole show itself but this movie was on another level. Yes, I hated Kaguya in first and sometimes inside the show but in the end I think that she was just a lonely girl that didn't even have a time to understand how she feels about herself and others. She was just an ordinary girl but her family was not ordinary. So it traumatized her and she became the person who she is or she taught who she is. I have a girlfriend that kinda similar to Kaguya's case but not completely same. She is traumatized by her family like Kaguya and acted differently until we meet. And now she is an ordinary gir…

Pros Strong Likeable Characters, Great Story Sequence , Doesn't Try Hard to Be funny , but is entertaining, light hearted , wholesome , funny. Realistic and Captivating moments , Not a single waste of a scene. Masterpiece fluid animations at times, great music themes. Couldn't have thought of a better ending. Deserving high rank for this romance series, and glad to have watched every season. Usually extra episodes or movies don't add much to the series , and I end up not watching most of them but I did for this series.
Cons- N/A , tried to think of something I didn't like about this show but couldn't come up with anything.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai is a short form change up from its previous seasons. Gone are the meaningless episodes, and here we are just given the meat and potatoes of what this series is all about. As much as I like the supporting cast, I was happy to see them take a major back seat and let Kaguya and Shirogane cook. This, for me hooked me from episode 1, and I enjoyed it in its entirety. This format is a breath of fresh air, as I have had problems with its pacing in all 3 seasons. This last arc hopefully is the end, so I can remember this series a bit more fondly than I did in the past.
Animation 8/10
- Solid throughout, crisp.
Sound 8/10
- Love the voice acting of Kaguya and supporting cast.
Story 6/10
- It's a short arc, with just enough substance in the subject…

This is a movie consisting of four normal anime episodes that takes place after the third season. Even though it's still clearly the same anime, it did feel kind of different in a negative way.
The story continues where the third season left off. There is a twist however since Kaguya reverts to her ice-queen persona. The movie seems to mostly be about the masks the characters wear and the acts they put up but I don't believe the way it was portrayed here was a good depiction of that. Kaguya seems to involuntarily switch to her persona. This felt like a genuine multiple personality disorder instead of a character putting on airs. This involuntary personality change made the movie actively not fun to watch. If it was something Kaguya did on purpose then the story would still be okay but th…

This review is spoiler-free.
For reference, this is my favourite manga arc of all time, so I expected a lot from it. Sadly, it is also the classic case of a manga arc which isn't long enough for a 13 episodes batch, but at the same time not short enough for 90 minutes movie. This movie adapts from chapter 136 to 161, a nightmare for any studio trying to tackle the issue since there's a lot that needs to be cut.
Even without prior knowledge of the manga, I believe you will feel that the pace is a bit rushed. Scenes flow very quickly, but the movie also knows what scenes are most important and takes its time to faithfully adapt them. Since the story was divided into a main plot and a sub plot, A1 simply cut the sub plot and will most likely come back to it in Season 4. The cut content is b…

Kaguya-sama: Love is War - The First Kiss That Never Ends continues the saga of love, laughter, and rivalry with impeccable finesse, offering fans a delightful continuation of the beloved series. As a fervent admirer of Kaguya-sama: Love is War, this latest installment left me thoroughly impressed and eager for more.
