The anime starts with quote a few positive impressions, the art style and some character designs are very impressive, it openly and fully acknowledged that protagonist sister is a lesbian and has a girlfriend, the main "heroine" is actually a trap bi guy who sometimes dress as a guy but at other times as a girl, s/he is very interesting character and I started to increasingly like her/him in first few episodes even thinking s/he will most likely enter my favorites.
But than anime also makes some catastrophical mistakes, it becomes more and more comedicly absurd, it moves away from rom-com and characters parts more and more in a battle shounen/action witch itself is quite absurd/childish and doesn't really fit the story (There is no magic or sci-fi elements here they are suppose to be just…

Candidly, if there is a show centered around marriage airing in an anime season, I am probably going to watch it.
The pacing of this show was so interesting because it started awesome, it ended amazing, and it somewhat meandered in the middle (with both high highs and meh lows). As such, I am not really sure what to make of it, but I sure as hell finished it and will watch the second season when it airs Winter 2027.
“Marriagetoxin” really has a lot going on, with a pretty involved power system and lore, but at the end of the day, this one is fun if you just want to hang out with some zany characters for 13 episodes. I love the two protagonists, and I loved the hamsters even more (IYKYK).
Also, Jungkook from BTS recommended this. So, you could always watch it for that reason too.

Depressed workaholic MC determined to let his bloodline die with him meets cute femboy. Decides to continue the bloodline.
Pretty fun watch overall.
The visuals are pretty, the openings a bop, the characters are likeable.
Nothing mind-blowing but if you found the premise interesting you'll probably enjoy it.
There is a pretty forced attempt to add an easily marketable mascot character, but it doesn't really take away much from the show in terms of enjoyment.
The MC does stick himself with needles a bunch, so if you're uncomfortable with needles maybe this ain't it chief. They don't go into too much detail about the MC's sister or her girlfriend, and honestly I'm not complaining. I'm glad they didn't try to reinforce the MC actions by constantly bombarding us with random snippets of a h…

This show is conflicting. It has one of the best intro to an anime I've seen in a while. At the start, the characters are unique and interesting. The world buildling is amazing and makes you want to know more. The dialogue and interactions are top tier- a mesh of two very different characters with great panter and build up. Even the fight scenes, albiet short- were fantastic to see. From the get-go, you get a sense of a gloomy and dangerous world, with Gero being the center- and right off the bat he makes a strong impression. Gero is an assassin, but he is trying to change him and his sisters destiny by changing who he is- ultimately to get married. And this dude is a pretty hopeless romance because he has no interactive skills (which makes for some great comedic moments). But after meetin…

Woke slop.
Do not watch if you hate having woke values shoved down your throat. Propaganda attempting to normalize men pretending to be women, a woman voice actress, and female characteristics with all the assets but telling you it's a man. The only point of writing this into the plot is to normalize this for children. And then pushing the notion of dating a whole bunch of women at once.
This entire show's sole purpose is to be a vehicle for pushing woke values; just like 95% of Hollywood shows, it has no plot to speak of. Do not watch if you do not like woke political priorities being force-fed to you, but if you're one of the wokies, I'm sure you will love it.

7.5/10
Marriagetoxin’s excellent premise struggles to find its footing. It promises a fun, over the top comedy of a budding relationship between an assassin and a marriage swindler yet distracts us with a plethora of subplots that don’t go anywhere. For better or worse the show takes all the positive tropes of an action series and jacks them up to an eleven: crazy fight scenes, elaborate monologues, power ups that defy logic, wacky comedy, cute girls, you name it; it’s there.
Despite the abundance of cliches creator Joumyaku still manages to create a fun world with a likeable characters. Hikaru Gero is flawed, adorkable protagonist and his overpowered abilities never feel like they outstay their welcome. Like many other long running series today, however, its pacing suffers with too many…

This was an anime which easily could have been an 8/10 and with polish could have been a 9/10 anime, but its blatant flaws pounded my assessment of it down to a 6/10. The parts it executes well are so well executed it hurts, and the parts it messes up scream at you as a result.
On the positive side, the comedy, setting, and animation are all top notch...at first. The animation stays pretty roaring throughout the show, and the fight scenes are exceedingly well-done, so if you're the kind of person who can watch an anime on animation quality alone, this could be good for you. The comedy is also pretty constantly good, and keeps catching you off guard all the way to the end, although it does start to wane a bit in the latter half. Finally, the setting is consistently silly and over the top,…

Even if i liked it i think it´s wasted potential (and i´m not talking about the "assassins" fighting like ufc fighters, instead of assasins), you can see how it decays once it reaches the beast family arc, it gives every thing that makes it interesting in exchange of becoming a basic neketsu shonen with nothing special, the problem is not the figths, if not how they are develop and why in the fisrt place, the necesity of trying to give a story and plane emotional background to every single one is uninteresting and boring, and even if you like that there are thousands of other shonens that do the same but better.
Now, the reason why it´s not lower for me is because the things that make this anime good are awesome at least for the first 5-6 maybe 7 chapters, when instead of trying to be a g…

It's cute and lighthearted which makes it very entertaining. Yeah, yeah people get killed - but the feeling that rests with you is good, because the hero is a good guy and you want him to find a bride.
The pace is quick, the script is spritzy and clever, the music is upbeat with ear worm potential, and it is not boring.
It is a Shonen anime, but I think girls of any age would like it too (I am one).
Personally, I was disapointed that the anime stopped at episode 13. I would have liked to see more.
I am not sure if a note of 7 does it justice. I really would have liked to give a 7+.
It did not give it an 8 since the storyline requires a little more cleverness, and complexity.
But I love it for its entertaining factor - it is just so cute and that without being sappy/smaltzy

This one was such a huge surprise.
It initially caught my attention with the base plot but everything here surpassed my expectations.
You have a battle anime that gives it's characters the most random powers combined with GREAT animation, very well made fighting scenes and my favorite, super charismatic characters.
Hikaru is a really querky protagonist but his interactions with everyone around him help him improve and you can CLEARLY see the development.
All the "possible brides" have super captivating and unique personalities. Each of their individual arcs shows more of their reasons and life objectives in this world full of different dangerous factions and people with crazy powers.
The show surprised me frequently with random situations and I love when a plot doesn't follow the "e…

This anime doesn't really do anything groundbreaking for the shounen genre as a whole, but honestly, I had a lot of fun watching it because of the plot and characters. The cast is full of whacky characters with CRAZY abilities from poison masters to beast masters and SO MUCH MORE. I thought that made the world feel quite unique and fun. On top of that, the lore of the world itself and the power system for the Masters kept me intrigued the entire series! I am SO glad they announced it for a S2!!!!
I ended up enjoying the series so much that I picked up the manga after finishing the anime because I HAD to know what happened next. Not to mention Gero is also a really cool MC to root for as he searches for love in a world of chaos and Masters out to kill him. GO GERO!!! Once he decides he's g…

Operation White Knight Will Succeed!
Marriagetoxin is an anime about a femboy, who has one job in life, to get this assassin dude married despite his many flaws, but maybe he flaws are just because he's an unpolished diamond.
The main character is just so enjoyable, in his leak of social skills truly give some funny moments, that put the femboy in true horror of the cringe. The potential brides have really well defined personalities, that doesn't just make them damsels in distress, and of course the best one has the power of hamster.
But if everything failed, he can always try to get his femboy pregnant.
It combines the romantic elements and the action element really well together, and makes the story of the heroin interesting with character development.
the action parts are really we…

Marriage Toxin is my all time recommendation of Spring 2026, mostly because this season is filled with sequels so it had the chance to stand out. Especially Konosaki being a femboy that every time you see him acknowledge he's putting on breasts everyday. The show's first episode goes by really fast but it keeps it's pacing throughout the entire show. No time wasted, 80% draw-dropping action, and one-liner comedy. I had multiple episodes where I couldn't believe it was only halfway. The main premise (find a suitor so his sister doesn't marry) is pretty weak, but I'm not the type to really complain about how prestigious families work in Japan. There's enough gags here to understand that Gero has a very skewed perception of the world but everyone else's wellbeing is always his first priority.…

It has a decent premiere and that's about it. It just falls off with every episode after that until Arashiyama appears but there also it was her hamster and her skills which made it entertaining. The story was average and lackluster even though they had a femboy as a MC for which I was interested to see how they'd revolve the story around but nothing much happened there other than his various outfits which were the only highlight. The fights literally turn a blind eye to powerscaling just like Sakamoto Days did with the tunnel effect with absurd ass pull powers.

The first episode isn't what defines this excellent and unique anime but the latter plot which will stun you and have you glued to this shit. I was like at 80% progress into dropping this But my thousand years of anime watching ultra instinct art told me to give it a chance and just when I passed the 1st barrier then....BOOM..!
The genre is correct so do the plot synopsis. Lots of alike anime slops came with same plot shit without any baseline (not talking about sequels) and they keep coming. But even in this loophole, this shit just managed to give us a unique story that defeats other hundred trashes out there. Whether you looking for crazy action fighting, animation and story telling this one will literally deliver that to every single episode, no kidding. The character development is c…

Honestly, Marriagetoxin had all the makings of not being made for me. A shounen battle anime combined with what you could only describe as a harem main protagonist? I really didn't think the show could work for me. But despite that, it was probably my biggest surprise of the Spring season, because it took these elements and made them work in a way that I wouldn't have expected. Especially in the most important aspect for a show about dating which are the characters.
1. Story and main formula
But from the beginning. Marriagetoxin is a story about Hikaru Gero, a "master of poison" who was trained to be one of the nearly perfect assassins with superpowers that exist in the world. However, when his grandmother plans the future of their clan, she decides, since Gero isn't seemingly interest…

This was a surprising series.
I knew it was published in MangaPlus, but I had no idea how the story goes.
How did I find this?
As I said, I know it was published on MangaPlus, so I thought I would approach the series in anime form first.
Appealing (Why did I get into the anime?)
Finding Marriage? And the MC is a man? (Actually, both of the MCs are men.)
Sign me up! I want to see the women's looks. Of course, I would watch it. Platform
Bahamut Anime Crazy (Taiwan), Bilibili Global (South Asia & Southeast Asia), Crunchyroll, and Muse Asia (South Asia & Southeast Asia).
The review;
Plot/Story
I don't need to repeat it, do I? They literally repeated the "synopsis" in the first ten seconds. Lol
If I should, then I will.

Marriagetoxin is a competent, yet surprisingly forgettable action series. It has all the bones and structure and interesting power sets needed to craft a solid shounen battle anime, but it never quite musters up any moments of engaging characterization or intriguing plot movements to really up its game past being a passable action plot. Perhaps part of this is a blisteringly fast pace of adaptation so as to give the season a strong concluding point to end on, but it often feels like we’re just moving from one plot event or mandatory back story to the next in rapid succession without giving those moments enough space to breathe and really let the audience soak them in. The few bits of uniqueness it does have also start feeling superfluous as the story continues forward, with Kinosaki’s cros…

This is one of those shows I really wanted to like. It came in with a strong hook- which oddly enough scared away a segment of the western audience but attracted me to it. What transpired thereafter wasn’t a full bait & switch but it sure felt like it. The implications of what was revealed in the first episode subsequently were put aside in favor of a battle shonen style setup that got more annoying as time went on and felt exceedingly juvenile.
The only recent anime that comes to mind for comparison would be The Elusive Samurai which was a hyper-violent historical fiction posing as a kid’s show. If you’ve seen that one, try to recall what all the bad guys (enemy samurai) were like in it. Most of them had ridiculous abilities obtained after training with some unusual method or by having a…

" Legit Queer Bait "
Marriagetoxin is a kind of anime whose premise sounds strong and interesting but execution is poor in terms of power dynamics and shifting personality of characters . Imma be honest , in terms of shonen content it's good but in parameter of other genres it's shit and don't forget author doing a queer baiting .
The prime thing which I hated is poor power dynamics , author failed to establish a good and genuine power system . The moment mc starts loosing he remembers some nonsense chit chat from past and counters enemies techniques . The forced pacifism is also bad here . The things which I enjoyed are fighting sequences , strong bgm , peak intro outro and world building . Hoping for a improved 2nd season.
