Masamune-kun's Revenge R

Masamune-kun's Revenge R

Introduction

With the tumultuous cultural festival behind him, Masamune Makabe continues his efforts to carry out his revenge: to make the "Cruel Princess" Aki Adagaki deeply fall for him and then immediately dump her. As his class is going on a trip to Paris, widely known as the City of Love, Masamune has the perfect opportunity to get even for his childhood heartbreak. Before Masamune can impress Aki, the two meet Muriel Besson, a French high school otaku who aspires to create a romantic comedy manga series. Muriel believes Masamune is the ideal model for the protagonist and asks for his help. The boy reluctantly agrees, dragging Aki along to provide inspiration for the love interest's character. But to do so, the two must show Muriel what Japanese love is like. To make matters more complicated, Kanetsugu Gasou is masquerading as Aki's childhood friend, Masamune, to trick and use her. With mix-ups and love rivals galore, Masamune's revenge is proving to be quite the difficult task. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

I liked the last season better. It was a bit chaotic, and was quite unpredictable. This season is good, but it is a much more straightforward romance. The comedy is less and the serious/dramatic moments are more. Not saying they are bad at all, but the first season was not following any particular 'formula', or at least it wasn't obvious to me that it was. In this season the anime is much more predictable as it turns the stakes up. I rated S01 as solid 7.5/10, this one for me is 6/10. Still good and obviously it's not a separate thing as the story continues exactly where it left off; but there is a very distinct difference between the feel of both seasons. The secret of why Masamune was chasing Aki gets revealed (to Aki), as well as additional things come to light which drastically change…

The conclusion to the least vengeful revenge story in romance anime. After a first season focused on introducing the entire concept of Masamune’s "revenge" against Aki, this second part completely sets that premise aside to resolve all the story's loose ends. Masamune-kun no Revenge R is, above all, a concluding season. The goal here is to resolve conflicts, clear up misunderstandings that accumulated throughout the narrative, and finally decide the characters' fates. Without going into spoilers, I can say the plot takes some turns I honestly didn't expect. The anime spends a good deal of time developing the characters' emotional conflicts and showing that practically no one in this story was completely innocent. Each of them, in their own way, made selfish decisions, hid their feelings,…

The beautiful brat with the heart of gold." It's honestly sad to see how many people dislike this anime. I've watched a lot of romance series over the years, and while there are plenty that I love, most of them tend to follow the same formula. You can usually predict exactly what's going to happen after a few episodes. That's where Masamune-kun's Revenge stands out for me. This season took me on an absolute roller coaster of emotions. One minute I was laughing at the ridiculous situations the characters found themselves in, the next I was frustrated, stressed, or desperately hoping things would work out. The story constantly kept me guessing, and that's something I really value in a romance anime. What makes this season so good is how much the characters grow. The misunderstandings, ins…

Had I been 5 years younger, I'd have been kicking my feet for a conclusion such as this one. Masamune Kun's Revenge R handles almost every element of its predecessor in a way that feels more rewarding and fulfilling. Much of my gripe with the previous season lay in how they handled the side cast (specifically the Aki Wagon and Kanetsugu). I will say the story "solves" this problem but not in an effective way. Unfortunately, it seems to me the author backed out of any ideas they had in mind and just cut it short with the most "peaceful" way possible, leading to a half-assed resolution. Even as someone who hated that introduction, the solution was just as abrupt. This season does suffer the consequence of following up on the first season. Personally, I feel as if the author wrote themsel…

When i first started this show was so promising, it was fun, interesting, besides the extremely long internal monologues from Masamune, i still was enjoying it a lot... then i dont know what the hell happened, it went from a fun entertaining romantic comedy to freaking unreasonable forced stupid drama. Since Gaso showed up, nothing in the show made sense, it felt like the author said "oh no, everything is going way too good, lets freaking add poorly written drama for no reason". This is literally how to ruin a good story with desperate attempts to extend it and doing it really bad. Even the ending is not worth it, why the hell was that? After making us go through all that bullsh*t the least the author could've done is giving us a proper ending but that? holy damn that was lame. I thi…

This was really hard to rate... On the one hand, I really wanted to give this a rating of 4 or lower. At times it felt pretty bad because there were so many inconsistencies across episodes, I had to stop twice and check if I missed an episode in-between. The overused flashback tease (1), the unclear / poorly explained motivations of characters, the love interests and their handling, multiple cliffhangers, and misleading of your expectations exclusively for the sake of "plot twists" all of these really got to my nerves by episode 4 or so. I *really* got annoyed at it. On the other hand, I wanted to be more lenient because I'm clearly not in the target audience and age group, because it's not terrible (I did manage to finish it in a day!), because it did make think about some stuff, and…

I remember the first season being weird but interesting—and this sequel feels like a full-on emotional rollercoaster. There were definitely moments where it seemed like things might derail into a dumpster fire, but surprisingly, it turned into a genuinely engaging romance-comedy. The plot actually develops, which already sets it apart from 90% of romance anime where after 12, 20, or even 50 episodes… nothing really changes (aside from maybe adding another girl to the harem). Here, relationships evolve. The characters move forward—sure, sometimes in illogical or slightly dumb ways—but hey, nothing’s perfect. Art-wise, it’s decent for a romance anime. Facial expressions are on point, and the overall style and animation hold up well. Compared to other genres, I’d say it’s slightly above ave…

Do you like to be and feel confused for 11 episodes? Do you like to skip boring useless parts and stick to the main story? If your answer is yes, this anime is for you. It's rare that a rom-com gets a second season in this day and age so might as well enjoy this one. I don't know if I can actually recommend this anime or not, I guess it's there to be watched so do it you won't really regret it. This anime didn't invent anything or add anything new of course, we just avoided a school festival and a useless summer episode which is good. The pace of this season was good, you can feel the story going forward and the raw material not "enough" for them to stretch it even more. The art style is good, no doubt and even the music was decent which is pretty rare. If you want to disconnect your…

I was a bit skeptical going into this season, but oh man, it delivered. First off, let's talk about Masamune and Aki's relationship. I was shipping them hard in Season 1, but this season took it to a whole new level. Their interactions were so tender and sweet, I couldn't help but squeal with delight. And that confession scene? _swoon_ But what really impressed me was the character development. Masamune finally learns to let go of his revenge obsession and focus on his own growth. And Aki... oh man, Aki's backstory had me tearing up. I never thought I'd feel so much empathy for the ice queen, but this season made me understand her so much better. The supporting cast was also on point. Yoshino and Neko's friendship goals are everything, and I loved how they supported Masamune through thi…

1. Uninspired Plot This sequel seems to lack fresh and surprising elements in its storyline. The comedic and romantic situations appear repetitive from the first season without any significant development. This makes the story boring and lacks appeal for those who have followed the first part. 2. Underdeveloped Characters Despite their potential, the characters in "Masamune-kun no Revenge R" do not receive adequate development. Masamune and Aki retain their old personalities, showing no substantial progress or change. This renders the relationship between the two main characters dull and uninteresting. 3. Animation and Music While the visuals and music of the show are not bad, they are not enough to redeem a weak storyline. The animation remains beautiful and the music is pleasant, bu…

This anime definitely gets more hate than it deserves. If you’re looking for a woman hating anime this isn’t it and I think that’s where a lot of the negative reviews come from. If you’re looking for a romance anime with a different story than most and some decent twists this is a great option. The characters are fairly compelling and there’s less mindlessly time wasting tropes than most romance anime. The art style and animation are also solid. All in all I think it’s definitely worth a watch for anyone looking to switch things up!! I’ll definitely miss these characters.

A Romance anime with a conclusive ending is an extremely rare gem amidst so many others that don't even bother to continue, serving merely as advertisements for their manga. Let's talk about the animation: for a Romance anime, it's very well done, putting to shame those anime that needed better animation despite being Shounen or Isekai. Isn't that right, Goblin Slayer? The characters remain as beautiful as in the first season, with subtle design changes. Regarding the secondary characters, they ended up without any real development, although, honestly, they weren't missed, considering that 90% of the anime's charm comes from the protagonists, Masamune and Aki, along with Yoshino. As for the plot of this second season, and consequently the possible end of the anime, everything flowed wel…

I really enjoyed the first season, so I was ecstatic to find out that a second season was already out! But after finishing it, it just left me feeling both satisfied and dissatisfied. First of all, the animation was disappointing, to say the least. Their weird movements were a bit hard to watch at times. But hey, I watch these mostly for the story, right? I wanted to see how everything would turn out for Masamune and Aki. But the story was confusing, oddly paced at times, and unnatural. They introduced so many plots that didn't seem to have a proper closure or understanding. Although, I liked the ending, and it was the ending that I had always hoped for. But every twist and turn they took before it seemed almost unnecessary. Or maybe it wasn't explained enough or stretched out enough. I…

English. A second season that exploits the main idea much better and focuses all the problems so that they are resolved here, it is clear that this will be the last season and I think they brought all the problems to super interesting points, from ending the revenge to knowing which is what our protagonist feels, most love series will not know how to handle these themes and only make the girls in the series fall in love with the protagonist but here they knew how to handle this in the best possible way, with a super interesting plot and stopping dragging out the main mystery of the series and fixing things by talking directly to each other. I think the authors did the best honest series and gave it a super good and interesting ending, showing us the perspectives of all our protagonists and…

Masamune-kun no Revenge R is a sequel myself and everyone else waited over 7 years for, even if I wasn't super excited I did still remember season 1 fondly and was looking forward to watching this. The first half or so was pretty good but in the second half especially towards the end I was absolutely lost and really found it hard to follow/understand what was going on. There were some very odd and questionable sub-plots and character actions that felt like they only served to pad the runtime and drive wedges between characters/force in drama which annoyed me quite a bit. I also sadly didn't find the payoffs to be that satisfying, there had been plenty of episodes prior leading up to these huge moments but they kind of fell flat for me, don't get me wrong I really did enjoy the finale and h…

Masamune-kun's Revenge R Season 2 takes a step further into the tangled web of its characters' relationships, but the promise of comedy falls short, giving way to a heavier emphasis on drama. The series, billed as a comedy, struggles to maintain a lighthearted tone, leaving viewers with a narrative that feels more like a messy soap opera than a humor-filled romp. One of the notable features of this season is the exploration of messy relationships among the characters. While the complexities of relationships can add depth to a story, Masamune-kun's Revenge R seems to revel in the chaos, presenting viewers with convoluted and often juvenile plotlines. The attempt to inject drama into the narrative overshadows the comedic elements, making the series feel more like a melodramatic exploration…

Masamune-kun no Revenge R, ah, the enigmatic continuation of vendettas and entangled emotions. This saga revisits the pursuit of revenge with a seasoned blend of wit and heartfelt depth. Surprisingly, while the initial season left me unimpressed, the second installment was a remarkable upturn. Story: This chapter ventures deeper into the intricacies of characters' pasts, meticulously fleshing out the motivations and histories previously obscured. The evolution from the first season is palpable, embellishing the narrative with minor yet impactful twists. An unexpectedly commendable closure, scoring a solid 9/10 for surpassing initial expectations. Art: A traditional canvas in the realm of anime aesthetics. It's comfortable, offering no groundbreaking shifts but maintaining a pleasing appe…

Its sad to see that people actually dont like this anime. I like stories that are crazy and unpredictable. I feel like all the other romance anime ive watched have all been so boring and predictable. Dont get me wrong, there are still many other romance anime out there that I love along with Masamune kun no revenge, but to me this one is special. Another romance anime that I really loved was ao haru ride and I feel like Masamune kun no revenge has got to be in my top 10 list of my favourite romance anime. And the ending? Simply perfect! All I can hope for is that I get to see more of masamune and aki after they started dating.

The emotion most prevalent throughout my watchtime of this show was most definitely confusion. It feels like some parts are too short, others way too long and some parts just shouldn't be in there. Some characters act so odd it's just ridiculous, it's like they outsourced their thought process to a primate in their local zoo. The french arc was so weird with pacing and how it started and ended, just nothing flowed well and then they just abruptly ended interaction with the 2 french characters after like 4 episodes, made no sense maybe the arc in the manga was good but idk. The character decision making and portrayal was just downright devious. I think 90% of characters can just be grouped as annoying or confusing or both at once, also 3 fan club members just exist in several scenes maybe…
