Masamune-kun's Revenge

Masamune-kun's Revenge

Introduction

When Masamune Makabe was a child, he was rejected by a rich, beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who gave him the nickname ''Piggy'' for being overweight. Devastated, Masamune put great effort into working out to improve his appearance. Now a handsome yet narcissistic high school student, Masamune is determined to exact revenge—he will have Aki fall madly in love with him and ultimately reject her the next time they meet. To his surprise, Masamune discovers he has transferred into Aki's school. Setting his plan into motion, Masamune first begins to form a relationship with the ''Brutal Princess'' but, despite his efforts, fails miserably at his initial attempts. Shockingly, when Masamune finally progresses towards his vengeance, he receives a mysterious letter addressing him by his old nickname. Unless Masamune discovers the sender's identity, his plan is doomed before it even starts! [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This is a very honest review, I watched this hoping it'd be interesting, which you'd think it is after looking at the name but i was wrong. This is literally the worst piece of fiction I've touched it's even comparable to the daily life of the immortal king. The main character is an idiot and the female leads are a bunch of lolies, the main lead however is even poorly written. Not only is this NOT a romance but it's not a harem either. A few clips could be funny but there is nothing and i mean nothing about this worth watching. Animation: 5/10 Plot: 4/10 Characters: 4/10 Emotion: 2/10 Enjoyability: 3/10 Overall: 2/10 the worst part is that this anime isn't satisfying and i don't mean it in a good way, there are scenes so predictable and against good writing.

Not worth Watching It starts greats. But half-way it turns into absolute slop. In episode 9 all character development get thrown away, and everyone becomes a slave to the plot. If you want to understand how bad it really is - I had to swap to DUBS at 1.5 speed in order to finish this trash anime. Don't waste your time - just watch anything else! OK I enjoyed this a lot. It was much better than expected and let me explain why. When you first see this show on MAL, you will read the description - "a guy will pretend to like a girl to make her fall in love with him and dump her for revenge purpose" - you might think this sounds fun, exciting, something different from the Romance genre maybe; or you might roll your eyes and think "ok whatever its just the next random gimmick they came up with to try and be somewhat original, but there's no way it's actually going to deliver on that promise" Well the truth is somewhere in the middle. But what's really important are the details and execution of this premise. For me the description grabbed me immediately, I said "ok this has GOT to be good". And it is good, but not because the showrunner…

The setup is straightforward but strong. A guy reshapes himself completely just to get revenge on a girl who humiliated him as a child. That idea carries a lot of potential because it naturally brings up questions about identity, ego, and whether revenge actually leads to any kind of satisfaction. The issue is that the story doesn’t push those ideas far enough. Masamune operates like someone following a script he wrote for himself years ago. Every action feels planned, every reaction controlled. That should make him layered, but instead it limits him. You rarely see that control break in a meaningful way. For someone driven by something emotional, he doesn’t feel as conflicted as he should. Aki serves her role early on by giving the story a clear focus. Her behavior is harsh and exagger…

do not watch this horrible show bro, the last few episodes are awful and this fat dude completely ruins the story. I legitametely have never felt this way about any anime of all time and i was so close to actually throwing up. It was solid up until HE arrived but when HE did i actually felt sick to my stomach and wanted to die. Why in the world did this stupid studio do this and NOTHING happened. The art style changes in season 2 and i dont really care to watch it after what happened in season 1 but its not better. The MC was cool and the girl was cool too but holy crap they RUINED IT TO THE POINT OF ME ACTUALLY FREAKING OUT. THis is garbage

This anime was better than I expected. I went in thinking it would be just another generic harem rom-com, with the only difference being that the protagonist used to be fat as a kid, but it turned out to be more enjoyable than that. One big plus for me was the protagonist. Unlike many shows in this genre where the supporting cast is more interesting and the main character is awkward or annoying, I actually liked him here. The animation and overall production quality are good for a rom-com, and the voice acting is very solid. It helps a lot with the comedy, which in my opinion is above average compared to most love-com anime. The episodes are not boring, and you can watch them without getting tired. Sometimes the show loses a bit of momentum, but it manages to pick it up again. The only…

This is my first the first time i've wrote a review in this website after using it for 7 years. I was hoping that i'd write a positive review for my first one, but this series is just so ass i couldn't stay silent. DO NOT PICK UP THIS SERIES. It genuinely pisses me off so much to the point that i want to drop it, but i still held hope that somehow something good could finally come out of this slop. Boy was i fucking wrong, it's all downhill from the start. The pacing was all over the place, the characters were ass and unpredictable, unnecessary fan services on the most random scenes, and worst of all, they fucking revived it, just to give it the worst sequel that i genuinely ever read. The only saving grace of this series is the art (especially the manga), everything else is a fucking di…

This anime made me go on a rant after finishing the 1st season about how every person that participated in the creation of this abomination should have been fired or worse, preferably worse. Because god damn this anime is terrible, the main character isn't likeable, the main love interest isn't likeable, the harem members aren't enjoyable. The most enjoyable thing about this anime is having finished it so that I don't ever have to look at it ever again. This is actually the worst anime I've ever watched. This anime is unique in the way that it's actually terrible. Not a single redeeming quality about it The art style however is fine. It looks generic for it's year but isn't necessarily bad. I would recommend never watching this and if someone recommends it to you stop being friends with th…

This anime already has plenty of reviews explaining how horrible and bad this series is, but I just finished it and am very pissed so I'm adding another review to it out of pure hatred and spite! >:( Ok then, now on a (hopefully) more serious, focused, and (not distracted & ranting) mature note, Masamune-kun's Revenge is an anime that falls into the category of "It has great ideas! But horrible execution!" Starting with the plot, it's actually a pretty good idea, Masamune is trying to get a girl who used to bully him when he was younger to fall in love with him now that he's in high school, all to enact his end goal of revenge to dump her after she's head over heels for him. An actually quite unique idea, and it definitely has some good reason behind it, this review wont get into the mor…

How can one love a romance anime if they don't like the main characters? Was that the question "Masamune-kun no Revenge" was trying to answer? While I don't hate this anime by any means, the core of any romance or rom-com should be the leading man and lady (or variation thereupon) and the will of the viewer to see them be together. It might sound harsh, but I was almost rooting against either of them to find any sort of happiness as they're both rather miserable, dopey, and ridiculous teenagers caught up in their own vendettas. Our titular MC, Masamune Makabe, was rejected by Aki Adagaki when he was 10. Since then, he's improved himself from a fat, petulant jerk to a muscular, handsome young man pretending to not be a jerk. He's changed so much, that Aki doesn't even recognize him and he…

Brief overview: It's pretty good for the most part, but the animation is disappointing, especially for season 2 where it didn't improve that much. This review will be based on seasons 1 and 2. 8/10 for the whole series Introduction When Masamune was a kid he met a girl named Adagaki. Both of them were inseparable spending many quality time as children. However, Masamune was fat and chubby at that time until one day when Masamune was about to ask her out he suddenly got dumped and called Pig Foot by Adagaki. 8 years later he is now an attractive-looking kid and wants revenge on her by making her fell for him and doing the same thing back to her like how she did to him when they were kids. Story 8/10 For the most part of season 1 is all about Masamune trying to make his rival Adagaki fal…

It’s fine. For the first 7 or 8 episodes I would have given this a solid recommendation for people who like decent tsundere romances. The romantic leads are reasonably engaging and the supporting casts adds a lot, both in terms of fun personality and some plot twists. But the last 3 episodes are just garbage. They feel like filler content. Super contrived, lazily written slop that doesn’t take the plot or any of the characters anywhere. It’s just a holding pattern to fill in the end of the season. I’m probably being generous giving this anime a 6 with how badly it ends, given that it was probably only a 7 before then. I’m just easily won over by a cute tsundere, which Aki most definitely is.

I went into this anime expecting a fun, fluffy rom-com, and while it wasn't perfect, it totally hit the spot. First off, let's talk about Masamune. I loved how relatable he was - who hasn't had a crush on someone who didn't return their feelings? His determination to get revenge (or rather, win Aki's heart) was admirable, even if it was a bit misguided at times. And Aki? Oh man, she's like the ultimate queen bee. I loved how confident and unapologetic she was, even if she could be a bit cruel at times. The way she toyed with Masamune's feelings had me screaming "GIRL, STOP!" at my screen, but at the same time, I kinda admired her sass. The supporting cast was also amazing - Yoshino was my absolute fave, and I loved how she kept Masamune in check. And the animation? Adorable. I loved the…

This anime was amazing. It has had such a large impact on my life. Not only is the comedy, romance, characters, drama, and story good, but also seeing Masamune go from a fat kid to a muscular adult has had a large effect on me. (SEE LAST PARAGRAPH IF YOU CARE ABOUT MY LIFE FOR SOME REASON) Alsom all the character writing works really well, (Well, except one who is seen as a romantic interest once for like 2 minutes and never again). The drama and story telling work really well, with some sudden twists that make the originally kind of confusing story make more sense over time. While this is sorta a harem show, it doesn’t make the character just absolutely enamored with a bunch of girls, it just happens to be his life while he chases his goals. This is amazing. Give it a watch if you haven’…

English. A series with a concept that many would be interested in, most romance series take this concept of a love series to justify the attacks of one couple on another but here it is not like that, he wants revenge (because it is kind of absurd ) and he will have her in any way possible, here they show us a boy who did everything possible to get revenge for a past love and in this series we will see if he could really achieve his goal or if, on the contrary, he fell in love with this girl again. Look, the concept is good but the execution in this season is a bit mediocre, from the beginning it is clear that everything that happened was a big misunderstanding and they leave the entire series with the uncertainty that at any moment the truth can be known but It's the only moderately intere…

"Masamune-Kun's Revenge" sets itself apart from other harem anime by taking a different approach to the genre. At first, it seems like a typical harem story, but it soon shifts its focus to revenge instead of romance. The main character, Masamune, wants to get back at his childhood crush, Aki, by making her fall for him so he can reject her. This twist brings a fresh story about personal change and payback. The show does include some usual harem elements, like predictable moments and fan service, but it stands out because of how it tells its story and develops its characters. There are enough twists to keep things interesting, and the mix of comedy and drama works well thanks to good pacing. The animation and sound do their job well, helping the story without drawing too much attention.…

Masamune-kun's Revenge Season 1 offers an intriguing premise but falls short of expectations for viewers seeking a satisfying revenge narrative. The show initially promises a tale of vengeance, but as the episodes unfold, it becomes apparent that the revenge plot takes a backseat, leaving viewers with characters driven by only surface motivations. Masamune-kun's Revenge Season 1 attempts to navigate a delicate balance between comedy and drama, but this pivot proves to be another stumbling block for the series. The show introduces viewers to a seemingly lighthearted and humorous premise, centered around Masamune's quest for revenge, but as the narrative progresses, it takes an unexpected turn towards more dramatic elements. The transition from comedy to drama feels abrupt and, at times, d…

Story and Plot Masamune-kun no Revenge, is a romantic comedy anime that blends humor, romance, and a touch of drama to create an entertaining and engaging viewing experience. The story follows Masamune Makabe, a young man who harbors a deep-seated grudge against Aki Adagaki, the girl who rejected him in their childhood. Determined to exact revenge, Masamune devises a plan to make Aki fall in love with him only to break her heart, mirroring her rejection of him years ago. The anime's comedic story and plot are its strongest points. The humor is lighthearted and situational, relying on the characters' quirks, misunderstandings, and awkward situations to elicit laughter. The plot is well-paced and engaging, with enough twists and turns to keep viewers guessing and invested in the narrative.…

7/10 (This review is for the entire series: S1, S2, & OVA) +Unique spin on the vanilla “will they won’t they” story +Solid plot twists that keep viewer engaged -Shallow character interactions can be a turn off for some -Certain plot threads are tied up prematurely -Supporting cast distracts from main couple in a negative way Have you ever suffered a broken heart that drove you down the wrong path? Masamune-kun’s Revenge on the surface seems shallow, but underneath there are some decent character beats. One can’t deny the aggravation in watching high schooler Masamune Makabe attempt get revenge on his childhood sweetheart, whose shallow, egotistical, and idiotic behaviors drive a wedge in all his relationships, but the story’s hook comes from watching these charismatic fools and the…
