A very generic reincarnated-as-a-villainess story. There is some comedy but it's not usually that funny, for the most part it's just her being ace and caring more about sweets/eating than anything else.
There are some emotional scenes but everything feels unearned. However there are some good ideas and the execution is good enough for it to be a passable show. In particular, I think the last arc of this season is quite interesting. The first time you meet the guy early on you can tell something is off but it's never made obvious.
The artstyle is very consistent with these romance villainess fantasy stories. Everyone has their default fancy clothes and the design choices can be a bit distracting since everyone looks so cliche. But I can't really hold it against it when everything is set i…

This is a super good watch. An romance isekai where a girl from earth is reincarnated in this noble family. She read the story in a book so she knew what her life was gonna look like. Basically villainess didn't want to become villainess.
You can find this type of anime a lot, but it will never get boring. This is a very funny one to watch. The main character got a lot of good friends around her who all love and adore her.
The main character got some weird quirks/hobbies, and it's nice that they keep bringing them back. Not that she is not shown in that state. Her family relationship is very good.
The mai side characters also all get little backstory and a good amount of screen time. Which makes it feel you also got a connection with them. The main characters family is also a lot involved…

The reason I decided to write this review is because the comparison between how famous hamefura and tensei akujo no kurorekishi are made me shocked. Basically, this anime does everything it proposes to do in the wrong way, unlike the other title, a similar anime with a similar premise that is less popular.
So, in theory this anime wants us to be rooting for everything to be fine with the mc, because she knows she is doomed to death or exile. But the mc befriends all her hametsu flags in the first 3 episodes, and the rest of the anime is basically about her being friendly with everyone. Only in the last 2 or so episodes there's a sense of danger, but its so obvious how everything will be solved that its not even interesting.
They don't use smart writing technique to make the viewer ansiou…

Wasted potential, you hate to see it. The set-up was so promising! The character introductions in the early episodes give you a sense that there will be interesting conflict between them. I thought the MC would have to make some high stakes decisions to avoid her "doom flags," outsmart her rivals, and protect her friends. But she barely struggles at all. All of the characters, both male and female, adore her. She's just so gosh-darn quirky, and she has a heart of gold! It's a ~power of friendship saves the day~ story, and not a very good one.
The magic system is so phoned in, I forgot they could even use magic for several episodes. The comedy in the early episodes was okay, but it devolved into a few unfunny, stereotypical anime gags, like eating too fast and choking on food. But the wor…

I decided to watch this series based solely on the title and the preview snippet, thinking that I would probably follow the life of a villain, which I was basically put off by in the first episode and found out that it would be a romantic series... I was a bit worried that I would have to give up after a few episodes, but the opposite was true, I don't know how, but I simply enjoyed the series and I wasn't bored with any episode. The story of our "villain" Catarina was a joy to watch - her thought processes, reactions and interactions with other characters were simply entertaining. Overall, I really enjoyed the series, although I definitely have some criticisms, I tell you, I wouldn't have thought that I would enjoy it so much, I still see it primarily as a romantic series for girls, but f…

This story followed an otome game isekai, where the main character was reincarnated into a game world focused on forming relationships. Although she assumed the role of the antagonist, her personality differed from the original character in the game. She was not the original antagonist; she was a reincarnation with unique traits.
It was amusing to watch her seek ways to avoid her impending doom by learning survival skills, such as farming, and how to protect herself through swordsmanship. The development of her bond with her childhood friends, including her fiancé, was heartwarming. A time-lapse showcased her growth alongside them and highlighted the evolution of their relationships.
This anime portrayed not only the life of the main character but also the lives of those around her, illu…

The best villainess show I've watched so far—simple but very enjoyable. As often happens in this "subgenre," the protagonist carries the whole show, but this time the other characters at least have some development. The main downside is the lack of conflict or the fear of "doom" that the series initially presents.
The pacing of the show is quite fast, so you don’t get bored by it, and it also gives some screen time to secondary characters, which is something rather unusual. The animation is not great in general; it’s quite average, but the backgrounds are quite nice and really reflect this air of "Victorian/noble society." Unlike other anime with the same setting, which often add modern objects that break the atmosphere, this one stays true to its theme.
To be honest, the main attraction…

This show is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. It just has such a feel good energy to it. The protagonist Katarina is isekai'd into an Otome game that she's played quite a bit. Unfortunately she was isekai'd as the villain character, who is destined for doom if things go as the game usually progresses. The premise is fun in the sort of OP character way where they plan things out using knowledge of the game.
The charm for me though is how she makes good friends with everyone. She's so nice to all the characters, despite supposing to be the villain, and everyone loves her. I just like all the positive energy. There's of course points of contention, but I'll let you find that out for yourself.
Despite the good feels, the characters do sometimes act a bit one dimensional, and a bit too cart…

"Reverse Harem? Is that something I can eat?"
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom is a bit of a misleading title. Hamefura, as it's called in shorthand, is more about the goofy misadventures of Catarina Claes and her Reverse Harem posse. I'll be rating this anime based on these factors: Story, Characters, Art, Sound, Efficacy, and Personal Enjoyment.
Story - 4
As I said, the title for this one is a bit misleading. Our protagonist, whom we never learn the real name of, has reincarnated into an otome game that she's played;however, the twist is that she has reincarnated as one of the game's primary antagonists, Catarina Claes. From her experience with the game, she is convinced that no matter what she does, Catarina will always have a bad ending. So surely the plot revolv…

I randomly decided to dive into this anime, not expecting much from it—I thought it might just be your typical, forgettable romance, maybe even a reverse harem. But wow, right from the first episode, I realized I was totally wrong! This reincarnation story turned out to be way more hilarious than I ever imagined. Sure, there were some middle parts that felt a little like filler, but honestly, I was grinning through most of the episodes!
The main character is that perfect mix of silly, funny, and charming, which I found really captivating—even if her romantic adventures sometimes drove me a bit crazy. I mean, brother-sister love? I can handle some girl love, but this felt over the top with three girls involved! But hey, that's just anime for you; she's reincarnated into an otome game’s…

Loved it. What a great anime. Finally, a world where everyone is potentially pansexual.
Jokes aside, I really loved the story behind the game and how we see their bonds being formed in childhood. I didn't think it was possible to actually like how everyone is absolutely smitten by the protagonist. Normally, this stuff grows stale pretty quickly. But with Katarina Claes, we understand. It's not only that she is pretty, rich, posed... It's actually everything but that. The connections are believable and, of course, she already knows those characters from the game. She does have intel about how to get their attention, even if she didn't plan to make everyone fall in love with her.
I just wish they commit more with Katerina interests. She can be interpreted as asexual, which is great (and al…

The supposed reincarnated villainess "Catarina Claes", does not face any real challenge or anything being called worthy of a flag of doom throughout the entire series. Even the ending doom flag, feels like it was kind of forced. The antagonist had no real purpose of going against the villainess. Revenge is stated as a reason but the object of revenge was not the villainess to begin with, so it makes little sense as for why she was targeted.
The real problem of the series is the MC kinds of befriends every doom flag that is supposed to appear in the years before they actually appear. She wakes up at the age of 5 which is very early to harbor any kind of bad reputation or anything of that sort and proceeds to intentionally or unintentionally befriend anyone that will likely cause her to be…

Otome Game Flag is quite a good comedy. It is fun, the pacing is okay, the characters are charismatic, the production is okay, the intro is good, and the jokes and comedic scenarios are mostly good.
That being said, I watched from episodes 1-7 in basically one sitting, but the second half of the show was much worse, because the comedy started to get stale and the focus from the series changed drastically to drama
And, unfortunately, Flag does not work well as a drama nor as a romance; mostly because of three reasons:
1st - The heroine's personality. She is just too dumb and it is impossible to take her serious;
2nd - How the protagonist achieves so much just because of her compassion. She does not work hard, nor smart, nor strategically. Instead she just solves all her problems by being…

Making good lightweight entertainment is actually a pretty tough balancing act. On the one hand, you can’t go ham on suspense and drama and give your audience an aneurysm with constant tension all the time by incessantly keeping them on the edge of their seats like a Kuroko no Basket match. No, the conflict has to be simple, laid back, and not all-too-dramatic, just warm and pleasant, not unlike a summer breeze.
That said, conflict does have to exist. You need drama to tell a story. If you make that conflict too easy to resolve and forego tension entirely, then the story loses all meaning. It’s difficult to invest in something when there are no stakes. An example of how to do this wrong is the Smartphone isekai. That one never came across to me as a story about an overpowered protagonist,…

An inherently intriguing premise and a bubbly lead character comically fighting fate itself give Hamefura a lot of promise, but poor pacing and a tendency to stray away from the main story end up undermining the show's momentum and cheapen key moments. It's still a fun and playful watch with bountiful humor especially carried by the antics of Catarina, the lead, but the simultaneous potential for depth and suspense set up by the show early on ends up being disappointing.
Hamefura is powered by a great premise and a compelling twist on the isekai model: with the protagonist Catarina reincarnated as the lead villainess in an otome game from her past life, she must now play the game of life right to avoid what seems like certain doom for her. Ever colorful and sympathetic as she strives to r…

I stumbled into this anime at complete random, picking it out of a list sheerly because I thought the character designs were cute (and they are!) and I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it was.
Characters are dynamic and the story is rather simple but enjoyable in its simplicity. Katarina is a delight and nothing elevates a harem like having a main protagonist where it actually makes sense that everyone likes them. Hell, she basically worked her ass off to make sure they did!
It's not gonna change your life or anything but I imagine you'll have a fun ride on a light hearted bisexual harem romp.

So sad that this turned out to be just another reverse harem where everyone falls in love with the MC. The characters just genuinely lose all their personality because suddenly all their wants and desires revolve around living with Catarina forever?
I mean, boring as hell. I get the point she reincarnates in an otome so every character just acts as an otome character but still. If at least there was some kind of feelings awakening in her but no, she just ignorant all the time, their feelings don´t reach her in anyway, they just end up not feeling genuine. Mary was the wooooorst character ever. why she suddenly obsessing over Catarina and screaming all the time. Half the show is just slice of life. I honestly just watched it all because people told me it would pick up the main plot in the…

Very, very cute!
Although it's a bit heavy-handed, it really showcases how a person's interactions with those around them can help shape those people, for better or worse, which probably isn't a super unique theme but I still like it.
Lots of warm fuzzies from the MC righting wrongs that could have been, and just overall .. choosing love, I guess 🤷♀️ And lots of chuckles from the MC being so dense.
The second season gets pretty repetitive and a little weird, without much forward plot movement, and without there currently being a 3rd season, I recommend just getting your dopamine hit (if you're into this warm-fuzzies sort of thing) from the first season and moving on.
Solid A for fully dressed females, although there is some panty/booby lewdness in the dialog (from another female ch…

Imagine the usual lewd but not yet ecchi kind of shonen comedy, you know the one, the panty shots, the boobs on the protagonists face, the never ending situations where the MC gets on top of things despite it being unlikely, yeah, that's the one you are imagining, now reverse the genders, and tweak the target audience from male to female, and there you have it, this anime! But fear not dear reader, this one really is not that bad, in fact i would say it is pretty good!
For starters, everyone loves and i do mean LOVES the MC, she is the end-all-be-all, the crown jewel, the one loved by all that live and have lived alike! Honestly, its a blast, it's quite funny, this anime plays like a little girls fanfic about what her school life is like in her head, all the boys love her and are super co…

Well, this certainly took me by surprised. I've always had a distaste for the Otome genre but this Anime was great. Can't say I'd get heavily into the Otome genre, however this does leave a good aftertaste with it's story and comedy. I'm glad that I gave it a shot and didn't leave this one in the dirt. Otome from another perspective in my opinion is alot better than what we usually follow with the main female protagonist. Judging that the MC is supposed to be the villainess of the story. Her comeback as a loveable MC is a pure chef's kiss. I really do hold out hopes for more Otome Isekai where the main focus isn't on the main female of the Otome story but rather from the perspective of someone else. Now, I don't normally watch romance anime shows with female protagonists because it usually…
