This is so good. It's incredible that they spent the whole second season in just one space, a space different from the first season. This sounds so professional to do, which is so cool. I like that Subaru is moving the story just like a protagonist should do, although he's not a super great powerful character. And this seems silly, but I do like that the episodes are so long and without opening/ending most of the time. I do like OPs/EDs, but the fact that Re:Zero needed to cut this and make the episodes longer just to tell more about the story, this is cool! And also the background stories, there's a lot of story, all of them interesting. Anyway, So Good!

The first season had an impact on me when I was a teenager and many many years later, the impact was big enough that I did remember how interesting this anime was even though I have forgotten 99% of the animes i've watched when I was younger. Subaru has never been an interesting character. Call it the "Isekai disease" but these characters tend to be random losers we know nothing about and because they were hikikomoris, their lives are dull and uninteresting. The point of the genre is to forget that life and live another life in another world. We were unaware of Subaru's past and he has always been an idealistic kid simping over a girl but the setup during the first season gave the anime a better success compared to a vast majority of Isekais. The loop concept is interesting, the physical a…

Worst season of the show by far.
In the previous season, we were stuck trying to figure out why people in their memories. As such, I was looking forward to diving into this season seeing that this is an enemy many were looking to understand. What a fucking bummer. We spend the whole season stuck in "The Sanctuary" with some unbelievably terrible pacing. Each episode being 30 minutes long did not fucking help because we were stuck in one scene for the whole episode if not multiple. The characters just whine and scream and cry and repeat. An endless genjutsu I never want to experience again.

This review will consider season 2 part 1 and season 2 part 2 as a single season.
Suburashi. Sugoi. Unbelievable, and perfection.
Those are the words I would use to describe season 2 of Re:Zero. It is a powerful season, with some of the greatest moments in anime history, along with some of the scariest, and one of the most engaging mysteries I have ever seen. Please go watch this season in its entirety. You will not regret it.
Season 2 pretty much picks up right where season 1 left off. After many trials and tribulations, Natsuki Subaru has finally reached the conclusion he was hoping for. We open up with Emilia, Petra and Subaru riding in a cart, exhausted, but feeling happy. After the events in season 1, Subaru has to confess something to Emilia but that's where season 2 drops probab…

Re zero once again hits ts out of the park. More impactful moments, more great osts and insert songs, more insane lore, more of just everything. I won't mark this as spoilers since if your reading this review you have hopefully seen up through s2 part 1 already. But I will say, this season, and this second part as well has prolly elevated Roswaal to one of my favourite characters in the series. Not just that, but another few characters get insane development in this part. Eps 23-25 where just pure peak. I can't say too much else without spoiling, but I would highly recommend you watch this(if you do somehow need any further convincing after having already seen s2 part 1, and s1).

If your reading this, you've probably at bare minimum seen the first season. In my opinion, part 2 of season 2 really captures the charm of season 1, in a way that part 1 does not.
The plot is really good, but holy, they did NOT need to make it a 2 parter, this really should have been 12 episodes, the pacing of the first part is really atrocious, and in my opinion only slightly increases the depth provided. There are lots of good plot twists that I didnt expect, which made for some good fun.
I will say however that the final fight is relly underhwelming, and was hyped up a lot.
good anime, watch it

If Season 1 was Subaru’s breakdown, and Season 2 Part 1 his slow descent into despair, then Part 2 is where he finally chooses to stop running — not from pain, but from truth.
He is no longer a boy trying to play the hero. He’s a young man learning that love is not self-sacrifice, but mutual recognition. His strength lies not in resetting time, but in learning how to make those around him feel seen, feel heard, and most importantly — feel real.
> "I love you."
Not shouted in desperation, but spoken with clarity and choice.
The Subaru we see now isn’t just trying to fix the world — he’s finally fixing his relationship with it.
Emilia’s growth is perhaps the emotional backbone of this arc. Her development is subtle yet monumental — no sudden power-ups or deus ex catharsis, just vulnera…

Review for full season's 25 episodes (first part I'm rating 5, second part I'm rating 6, and overall I'm rating the season a 6):
Aside from the problems I had with the previous season's gratuitous violence and characters behaving at the whim of what the MC needs rather than how characters would believably behave, this season (which assuredly persists with these same problems) surfaces with another pretty significant problem: pacing.
This season relies on the usual premise of Subaru using his power to rewind death and solve several mysteries while keeping as many people he cares about safe, though there're differences that makes it less compelling than the previous times. A big difference is that this is the fourth iteration of the same premise, meaning its lost its novelty factor; anothe…

The second part of the second season of Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- follows through on expectations with an extremely strong start and finish, and is the climax of character motivations, backstories, and questions built up over the arc. Subaru, in addition to other noteworthy examples such as Emilia and Otto, are great examples of endearingly imperfect characters with infectiously optimistic convictions struggling to support people despite their mistakes or weaknesses. This includes displaying trust and reliance for others, gaining understanding through misunderstanding and meaningful discourse, and striving to improve as an individual. Even our seemingly minor actions can lead to positive change.

Something i realized is certain is the uniqueness of this isekai;although if you didn't see Subaru's getup or the glimpses of his past you could pass this as just fantasy. Usually in this genre the hero's the one doing most of the lifting as he advances and all. This time around everything Subaru succeds in rely purely on the allies he gathers along the way. Without them we'd still be respawning at the shop in Lugunica.I do have some complaints about how useless this guy is when it comes to fighting capabilities if i am being honest, but i can let it go for a good story. Indeed, a good story it is. A very sad one though. A story not about the great deeds of a hero, but about a normal guy trying to repair tattered broken souls, only through repeating the process as many times as it takes. And…

The second part of season 2 is probably the best of the series. I am relatively indifferent about Re:Zero and was not impressed with season 1, the movie, and season 2 part 1. However, things finally start making sense! At least, to a certain point.
Following the first part, Subaru wants to save everyone from impending doom. Unlike previous times, he seems determined to reach this goal this time. No more whining, despair, etc. - actual action and resolve. From this aspect alone, I thoroughly enjoyed these episodes much more than the prior 40-odd episodes.
As for what I don't like, the world-building is not good. Yes, the characters get fleshed out more in this season, yes, we learn more about the history. But I'm stuck with the feeling that there is so much I don't understand and yet expe…

While the animation and character building of those outside of Subaru's typical party was nice, the amount of background info/flashbacks gets overwhelming and boring. A lot of talking but it doesn't feel like any progression occurs until the last 1-2 episodes which is not what I need from a season separated in two parts. That's not including the fact that it feels like someone was upset that Emilia was not as popular as Rem, so the only solution to help increase her popularity was by removing Rem in general. I recommend watching this part in sped up form to skip most of the talking. Especially since most of the flashbacks barely answer any questions and just add more to the list of 'What's going on?'

The second season amplifies the first's problems while dragging out its story. The Sanctuary arc introduces Echidna as yet another addition to the potential harem, complete with manipulative tea parties that try to be unsettling but end up feeling like another romance flag. Can you imagine drinking someone sperm? No, right? Why would you drink her disgusting stuff. If Subaru took up her contract, it will be If route: Greed, Subaru would died 100 mil times of cheap death which is a viral sound on tiktok. Absolutely lame
Emilia yaps more. Despite her supposed power and importance, she constantly needs Subaru's help. Do you feel this is like blind lead blind? Pathetic. Her past trauma but never quite delivers on making her a fully realized character.
Beatrice's storyline is weird, she choose…

So I haven't finished the last episode still a few minutes left but overall, I lost interest in this series. I didn't want to drop the last few episodes so I forced myself to watch it, no disrespect to fans of the series. Not one of the best for the series. I have no interest in watching the 3rd season, maybe I will pick it up after a few months but yea this was a hard watch for me.
The story got predictable after 5 episodes, if your like me then you might not enjoy it but to each their own.
Character development: 6/10
Story: 6/10
Animation: 6/10
Enjoyment: 5/10
Overall: 7/10

The pacing is bad. It is extremely slow; the story barely crawls forward. This fact is mostly due to how bad the dialogue is unfortunately.
There is way too much dialogue and it hurts the pacing real bad; there are scenes with twice as much dialogue as needed.
Less is more, and the same is true for dialogue; a good writer should strive to tell his or her story with just the right amount of words. There is no need to insult the viewers' intellects by spelling out everything happening on screen.
Besides this, the show is good. There are some other problematic elements: The occasional voice and animation desync, a lot of flashbacks, characters acting in cartoonish ways, and some dumb op abilities.
And there are some good elements: Nice animation, cool premise, interesting messages, and a…

Season 2 of Re:Zero was a random side quest for the purpose of world building, character development, and exposition dump... but it was executed sub-optimally, feeling difficult to get through at times, and wasted some characters' mystery/potential. I only completed it because I loved season 1 (Director's Cut) and can see season 3 picking back up again with the return to the main plot.
Season 2's sense of horror and stakes were diminished, and plot lines were insufficiently supported by characters' motivations. The main character became less complex and more one-dimensional with repetitive long-winded "don't give up" and "I'm here for you" speeches with every other character. There were so many forced/hurried backstories to the point where it was difficult to care about them all.
That s…

This will be a review for season 1 and 2. Didn't really know much about Re:Zero before watching besides the main girls names. The return from death aspect was definitely cool and refreshing at the start and while I feel it came to be both under and over utilized in different ways, it kept things at varying levels of freshness. Characters are pretty well written, especially in the later half of season 2 where a lot of them get fleshed out more. I think the first half of season 1 and the 2nd half of season 2 were the strongest, it got a bit dull in between but I'm looking forward to season 3 because it does seem like things are ramping up from here as things fall into place. I fel like the world building was a little barren but its been starting to expand on it more and more pieces falling i…

Re:Zero has a dialogue problem, which is an issue for a series that's largely made up of planning, discussing and reflecting.
I wanted to like Re:Zero, I found that a lot of the major plot beats were fun, it leveraged its own premise effectively, and there was obviously a lot of consideration put into both the characters and the world they live in. By isekai standards, it's still one of the better shows, and it clearly aspires to greater things, which is probably why the rough character writing feels so notable.
Unfortunately, the way almost everyone speaks is stiff, overwrought, melodramatic, uncomfortable, inorganic and borderline alien. None of these characters feel like real people, which is, again, a problem for a series with themes that revolve around personal growth and becoming…

To keep things short, the show has some good moments, but there are some that make me cringe a little too much. It tries really hard to pull at your heart strings, and its just way too much at times. The plot is a little confusing to follow the finer details of, but overall I think the pacing is pretty good and the not all the details are needed to get what's going on for the most part.
I think if you watched season 1, it's worth finishing through season 2. Season 3 is coming out soon, but my hopes are not super high. I feel like there are enough characters at this point that it could get out of control quickly if story telling is not done well. If it takes itself too seriously, the show could go further in further into the cringe.

Re:Zero is simply captivating; the second season has an incredible plot, I lack words to describe it. The involvement with the characters, the drama inserted in each of the episodes, the fear that Subaru always gets into more trouble as time passes—it gives such dynamism to the story that few works can achieve.
To better define Re:Zero, it's a surprise; unimaginable things can happen to Subaru, and you just accept it and experience watching a story like this. The anime tackles it in a more visual way; those who read the novel carry a burden of imagination, which sometimes makes things much worse.
This season itself carries one of the most interesting and mystical arcs of the story, and for this reason, I believe it to be one of the best. Re:Zero has become one of my favorite works becaus…
