It's a lovely slice of like anime that combines some relaxing cultural and cooking information with some wholesome elaboration on certain aspects from the main series, such as side character relationships and sisterly bonds.
I do not recommend first timers to the Fate series to watch this before consuming anything related to Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel because this animanga spoils significant plot points (speaking of which, do not watch the DEEN anime or Fate/Zero prior to the HF movies. Or just read the goddamn visual novel, it's officially translated on Steam). Moreover, this anime makes a lot of references to Fate/hollow ataraxia, the visual novel sequel to F/SN. Viewers who have played both visual novels would get the most out of Emiya Gohan.
My only complaint would be the pacing.…

This anime is Ufotable's biggest middle finger to anyone who says Ufotable can't make slice of life shows.
Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan consists of 13 short episodes of regular slice of life cooking things, but something about it feels magical. Characters of the Fate series have always been some of the best, being both complex and charismatic, and it's just nice to see them enjoying themselves and not having to suffer like in the mainline Fate series. Not gonna lie seeing Kiritsugu, Berserker and Illya, Lancer, etc. (Actually just everyone) be happy heals me man.
The visuals and animations of the show was overall really good, like the food are incredibly detailed and the facial expressions and movement of the characters was great as well.
Definitely watch this show if you have watched…

Imagine your local eatery is sporting the “Best Burger in the World”. When you check it out for yourself you are presented with a monstrosity. A veritable tower to the heavens is seated on your plate. Bacon, lettuce, jalapenos, onions, mushrooms, ketchup, mustard, barbecue sauce, and countless other adornments cover the stacks and stacks of grilled beef with cheese stuffed inside each patty. At first glance it’s miraculous but after taking measures you quickly realize there is no way to start eating it that will not cause the whole thing to come tumbling down on you. Even if you could find the optimal eating-path there is no way you could possibly finish once you started.
Meanwhile on the neighboring table you see it. The lightly toasted sesame seed bun. The single piece of green crispy…

Lancer doesn't die in this series! This anime is honestly adorable. The servants that are usually at each other's throats, are in this the best friends you could imagine. The art style is adorable, and the interactions between them are cute and funny+it has food! This is in my opinion the best the Fate series has to offer, that is of course very subjective, and it's certainly not as action filled or story driven as the others. It's very different, but it's a good different. Even better than Carnival Phantasm. Would definitely recommend, if a more slice of life-y series is something for you.

I think it's fair to go for scoring this as low as 5/10 or as high as 10/10 depending on how you look at it.
Being harsh on this ONA doesn't make sense to me unless you're not a Fate fan. The anime itself is obviously just a short and sweet feel-good food show for the Fate fans, but personally, I found watching each episode with enough food to last me an episode to be unironically the best to the point when I pretty much only watched it when I got food. It felt to me almost like a recreation of that nice feeling of sharing a meal with someone. But I imagine not having food to go with this being a form of torture somewhere as then I'd surely get so hungry I'd die on the spot. I didn't particularly care and I also think most of the non-Japanese viewers won't care about the finer details of…

Want to see very well animated japanese food?
Have a waifu in the Fate Stay Night series?
This is for you!
I watched it so I can see Saber being adorable and eating delicious food. What else can you say? You have to be a fan of the Fate Stay Night series in order to have some background. The characters aren't introduce and you're expected to know them. Saying that, this is just extra content. Shirou cooks a new recipe every episode and everyone enjoys it. The art is great as expected from studio ufotable. All the characters look cute and comfortable. If you want to see ufotable's slice of life/cooking show, plus Saber enjoying food, this is totally for you. I loved it

Should you watch it? : If it wasn't for the cooking. Probably a one and done type of series. But the cooking could probably make you come back to learn how to make some of these delicious-looking foods.
Story: None really has characters from Fate/Stay Night UBW. Mentions some story about themselves but of course it's not gonna go into it. It's a slice of life version. Though as far as episodes go I'd understand watching this in the sense of one episode a week type of thing when it came out, but I feel benching it wasn't the best thing in my opinion lol.
Art: Characters look adorable, and food looks delicious.
Sound: Op and Ed are alright.
Characters: They act so quirky and cute here and make the situation so wholesome. I love it.
Enjoyment: I like it. I wouldn't bench it, but would p…

What do you get when you cross a series with dark moments like Fate/stay night with the most funny and wholesome scenarios? This show, of course! The Fate franchise has become one of my favorite series to date despite its....confusing watch order and.....interesting fanbase. Anyways, if there is one thing I know it for, its for some of its dark moments especially in Fate/zero and the stay night route trilogy, so when I heard about this spin-off I had to watch it and I'm glad I did. Those who complain about it not having a story probably don't realize that a spin-off like this doesn't need to have a story. It's supposed to take a different turn from the main series and fill the viewers with moments that you probably wouldn't see in the main series, since that is pretty much how a show spin-…

This is the show I didn't know I needed until I watched it, and by the end I was so moved I had to write a review. My personal alternative titles for this show include Fate Cooking Instructions, Fate Friendship, Fate Foodie and Fate Feewings (or Fate Feels).
Story - 9/10
This is a light slice of life view of the Fate Universe in which the characters are going about daily life without the drama of fighting the holy grail war. What we learn is Shiro's household has a hotel bed sheet type laundry regimen (they do sheets daily, I swear) and they must have the cleanest sheets in the city. They shop for food almost daily, and school kids run on their stomachs. Frankly I loved how fluffy this series is as there's enough drama/angst in the other Fate series so watching them bond over various foo…

Saber cute.
Came out with omelete rice recipe and waifu materials, what more could u ask for? A branch off of Fate that takes it easy and lighthearted, a good stop after fate zero, ubw, heavens feels that takes itself more seriously. Story is an 8/10, simple and easy to follow. Art is absolutely gorgeous, the food makes me salivate 10/10. Character is enjoyable as always, everyone has time to relax and show their soft side to each other, almost like a big family!. Enjoyment 10/10, highly recommend if your looking for your next dinner recipe. The op is god tier, the most catchy song my ears have had the priviledge to listen to.

Wanna break from the killing and gore? Get 13 episodes of wholesome saber eating food for free!
This was a spinoff that I originally wasn't going to watch. Being a fan of the original fate series, I thought that this show wouldn't be able to transform such a show like fate, into a wholesome cooking anime.
Oh how wrong I was.
This features 13 episodes of pure happiness, sweetness and masterful cooking all with the same characters that were killing each other in the most gruesome way possible, and it does it wonderfully.
The OST fits the theme of the anime perfectly, and the new animation style and art makes it even sweeter than before.
I definitely recommend this anime to the slice-of-life enjoyers, as it is one of the best I have seen.

I didn't think I would enjoy it so much. Todays Menu for the Emiya Family is exactly the opposite tone of the main timeline series, and yet captures a unique element that those don't elaborate on, and that is relationships. During each of these short episodes, we see different characters showing aspects of their bonds that add to the depth of their character as a whole. Some of these include the wife and husband duo of Caster and Kuzuki, the backstory of Taiga and Shirou's bond, and a glimpse at what Sakura and Rin had before the former's tragic fate.
The art of the show is low budget of course, but has a certain charm to it. The music was stellar, and was pretty soothing. Really the only complaint I have was the music choice not fitting the show at some points.
Overall, an amazing show…

I'm the bone of my knife.
Steel is my body and fire is my stove.

Unknown to Saber.
Nor known to Rin.
Have withstood tiger to create many dinner.
Yet, those stomach will never be full.
So as I pray, Unlimited Refill Please.
Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is story that surrounds food, having the characters you love from Fate/Stay Night in a friendly and cute mode, allowing audiences to see them in another aspect. You will get to see Saber’s sweetest and cutest side, ever. Overall, I really enjoyed Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan. It was a fun watch, giving me a new perspective to the Fate series. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Fate series. It's a cute and heartwarming anime, letting the viewers enjoy the cast of the Fate ser…

Forget Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night, this is the canon Fate to me.
Seeing all the characters interact with each other instead of killing one another is a breath of fresh air for me. There's not much story going on but it's the typical Slice of Life anime. The art is OK at best (Except episode 7, the volleyball scene is a 10/10 for me lol) the music is soothing to hear especially the ending theme. The characters are veeeery different than their usual selfs and that's a good thing, seeing them get along so well is satisfying.
Overall i reaally like this spin-off, seeing everybody eat and enjoy themselves are a treat for anyone that feels depressed by the main Fate story

Imagine a universe where mages summon heroes from the past to fight with them in a war for the holy grail, a war where only one mage is expected to survive. Now imagine, after all the preparations and the heroic spirits have been summoned, the war is postponed/cancelled. This anime is a story of life where the masters and their servants never fought one another.
What really adds to the feeling of such a story is the wonderful water color art style used for the animations, which create a picture that is easy on the eyes and relaxing to see. The ending music gives me major Studio Ghibli vibes and has an even more relaxing look.
In my personal opinion, I think the best part of this show is seeing the side of the servants you'd never get to see in one of the true story lines where they're all…

If you haven't watched any Fate show before watching this one, I don't think you will enjoy it as much. You see, there is a certain beauty to seeing characters otherwise engaged in bloody conflict sit down, relax and enjoy the main protagonist's incredible cooking. Not only that, the pure cuteness of certain characters is simply great.
Characters, sound and story are all enjoyable, with little to actually complain about, especially since you should already be acquainted with the characters.
While the first few episodes may be a bit repetitive, the show soon spices it up with a few unique, and really memorable episodes that are both cute and hilarious.
The art in itself, and the animation, is, as expected of Ufotable, top-tier. The art style fits the anime well…

An enjoyable, easy watch. (Possible Spoilers)
This anime is set post Fate Stay Night adaptions, But yet must be another alternative route ending to add to list of many. That has not featured in any current adaptions anime, games etc. As most of the spiritual hero’s and the master are living there lives post 5th Holy Grail war like the events were played out to an happy ending.
Emiya-SAN Chi No Kyou no Gohan is so far away from the usual dark fantasy Fate world that we normally see these characters in. The story plots are very basic.
As a Fan of anime’s of more dark fantasy genre or that more fasted paced with intense fight screens and those that just keep you on the edge. This not an anime I would normally consider. But did feel nice having a break from the above.
This maybe this is wh…

Take a break from the Holy Grail War and let’s relax in such a heartwarming cooking show, Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family. This show is bringing characters you love from Fate/Stay Night, then portray them in a totally new aspect. If watching Fate/Stay Night is like having a main dish, then this show would be a dessert.
🎬 Story - 7/10
Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family is a show about cooking. While the story itself contains nothing extraordinary, it is rather focused on characters and filled with many heartwarming moments.
🎨 Animation - 8/10
Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family came with an above-standard animation quality, having a watercolor art style, unlike the usual ufotable Fate’s one. The art style gives off a very relaxing vibe, building up the o…

The Fate series has gotten a bit... unwieldy over the years. It starts off fairly comprehensibly: a hit visual novel from 2004, a sequel, a prequel, and several anime adaptations. Fair enough. But as you move through the series’ fifteen-year history, things begin to get increasingly strange. A magical girl spinoff? A dungeon crawler RPG? A cash-cow-turn-based-strategy-visual-novel-hybrid-gacha mobile game? At times, it can seem as though TYPE-MOON and company are less interested in meaningfully progressing the series and more interested in pushing the boundaries of the time-money continuum. And then you come to perhaps the most seemingly egregious, the most apparently bizarre entry in the Fate series yet: the cooking spinoff. When I first heard that ufotable was animating Emiya-san Chi no…
