Zombie anime never disappoint, you would think that all of them are bound to end up in a similar survival post apocalyptic scenario like TWD or or 28 days later but so far every single one Ive seen has its own twists on the genre Coming into Zom 100 the set up is amazing and something a lot of people can probably identify with, the story continues with a slightly changed version of the traditional survival plot by having Akira work off his lists and meeting actually likable characters along the way The music is great, you cant go wrong with a KANA-BOON opening and the tracks playing during the series blend in well However, if you do want a traditional Zombie series I can’t recommend this to you. By its nature it’s made very colorful and positively, nobody is ever really sad that they're…

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead did something that not many series of its kind can do. To transform the zombie apocalypse into an unexpectedly vibrant spectacle, where the end of the world becomes, paradoxically, the beginning of a new life Instead of following the classic pattern of desperate survival, the story changes perspective and emphasizes the freedom and joy offered by the small moments in a collapsed society that is associated with an escape , This approach gives the series a unique tone, where moments of chaos are balanced by surprisingly optimistic and even funny episodes The characters are full of life, each contributing to the energetic vibe of the series but also having their own stories that show why they came to be able to enjoy life in a destroyed world, The interact…

Zom100 is very interesting artistically yet very simple narratively. The artstyle is very unique with the colour palette and design philosophy seen throughout the scenes and how it reflects the tone and mood trying to be presented which I find a lovely attention to detail. The story is as nicely as I can put it just a zombie flick, if you've seen a zombie film or generic horror stuff you can predict pretty much the entirey of the shows plot yet you continue to watch due to the nice animation and designs and colours. For some this might be great with an artistically coloured zombie film that's easy to follow and digest whilst looking good but to others may seem very generic and basic.

This anime is quite a masterpiece from start to end, it changes the usual formula that zombie anime have, and does it amazingly. I find really hard to not relate to Akira, having to endure such a horrible job for so much time is quite a nightmare and finally having the chance of doing anything you want is something that anyone that had such a horrible experience would enjoy. Zom 100's combination of really enjoyable characters, amazing comedy, and serious moments that make the characters feel real, alongside a surprisingly good animation and an art style full of charisma makes this anime a masterpiece.

In short: If you want a chill anime, this is for you! It’s fun, well-animated, and the story is actually kinda interesting. If you want something more serious, well, this isn't it. Intro: This anime is dumb. But in a good way! Sometimes you just need to watch something without overthinking every scenario. Sure, you’ll notice that it’s maybe a bit too simple at times, but just watch and enjoy the show. Art: 8 It is really well animated! I don't know too much about the studio (Bug Films), but they did a great job here! Overall, the characters are really well drawn, and the girls look great too. Story: 5 Without giving any spoilers: the MC is an overworked employee at a "black company" in Japan. He gets really depressed until the zombies come and... well, solve his problems? So, he make…

Simply amazing. What else can I even say about this anime? Zom 100 is genuinely awesome. It’s hard to complain about anything here. The story, the animation, the visuals, the characters, even the opening—everything is top tier. BUG FILMS did an incredible job. Every episode feels like a movie rather than a regular seasonal anime. Visually, I would even say it’s on the same level as Ufotable’s works. Yes, that good. As for the story… man, it’s painfully relatable. 😂 The anime centers on Akira Tendou, a corporate slave working brutal hours under endless pressure from his boss and clients. He spends two years enduring this miserable life without ever enjoying himself or experiencing romance. Sure, there’s Ootori-san, the beautiful coworker he secretly likes, but… well, when you're a corpora…

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead builds its story around an unusual emotional premise. A zombie apocalypse normally represents fear, chaos, and the collapse of society. In this narrative, however, the end of the world becomes a strange form of liberation. The story reframes disaster as an opportunity to rediscover freedom after a life consumed by exhaustion and routine. The narrative follows Akira Tendo, a young office worker whose daily life has been drained by an abusive corporate culture. Endless overtime, unreasonable expectations, and constant pressure slowly erase personal identity. Work becomes an exhausting cycle where sleep deprivation and emotional burnout replace any sense of purpose. The collapse of the outside world therefore arrives not as a tragedy for Akira, but almost as a…

Let me start by saying: I hate post-apocalyptic and zombie shows. Anything that reeks of despair or hopelessness usually turns me off completely. Now that that’s out of the way… here’s my very brief review of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. This anime follows Akira, a corporate slave trapped in a soul-crushing job at a “respectable” company. The first few scenes are dull and colorless — just like Akira’s existence. He looks more like a zombie than the ones that eventually show up. Then one morning, the real zombie apocalypse begins. But instead of panic or fear… Akira feels free. For the first time in years, he feels alive. And that sense of liberation is instantly reflected in the animation — the world bursts into vibrant colors, joy, and motion, all in stark contrast to the death su…

The show starts off with a masterpiece episode. Episode was so good that rest of the show failed to meet its standard in my opinion. Production value of the show is pretty good for an anime, with the 1st episode being the best produced. But after the 1st episode I lost a bit interested in the story. The story is mixed in my opinion. The 1st episode made me think I would get a 10/10 story, but that was not the case. Parts of the story is very good and other parts not so much. I liked the core plot, that tied into the 1st episode, of an exploited salaryman faced with apocalypse. Akira has seen Zombie movies so he knows you need to be armed to confront the zombies. He should know that. But most of the time he seemed to confront them with bare hands. But the show is tonally off for a Zombie m…

Definitely one of the most underrated anime series I have seen. I binged most of this in one day, it was so entertaining. Sure, it dipped a bit at Episode 8 but the last three episodes were great after that. Such a fun anime, a great mixture of action, satire, zombie horror and even road trip elements. Even though it's so over-the-top and silly it also comments on the oppressive nature of capitalist work culture in Japan, as the overworked main character couldn't care less about the zombie apocalypse because he's free from work for once. Beautiful animation, interesting characters and decent OTT comedy make this a recommendable anime. Just yeah um... don't take it seriously.

5.5/10 ~ Great intro... then just nothing Zom 100 is a show that really makes me mad and honestly is a bit of a prime example with some of the problems the industry has right now. So much anime comes out regularly now that trying to find anything good really feels like a diamond in the rough, with some exceptions like Frieren or something that so occasionally gets hype and deserves it. Most people do the 1-3 episode test, most I find only doing one episode, if it doesn't grab the attention immediately then they will drop it. So now its not to uncommon to have an amazing 1st episode or two then the quality, production and care is just dropped from so many shows, Zom 100 included. The 1st ep or 2 was very good, landing somewhere between a 8/10 and 8.5/10 which is very high. But after a few…

Going into this show blind, I wasn't expecting very much beyond the fact that it looked like an anime version of the Zombieland franchise with its supposed absurdity rather than horror. And although bits and pieces aligned with that assumption, I wasn't prepared for the dive into toxic work culture and the dreams that adults feel pressured to leave behind. Now, did this show execute the discussion of those themes perfectly? Not at all, but the fact that it was present in a zombie anime of all things was quite the welcome surprise. Because there's no better time to live in the moment when your moment could end abruptly. Overall, I had a good time watching as a silly little time suck but I don't picture myself rewatching it again. So if you're looking for some slapstick with little touch…

Zom 100 is a really good example of a cool concept that never made it to the proper concepting stage of storytelling - where the character, goals, and ideas are developed. It's like the author/animators/etc. had this really fun idea of a guy feeling free when the zombie apocalypse starts, then they thought of maybe 5 interesting scenarios and 3 characters and then just started writing. Uh-oh, you've just run out of ideas, now what? Let's just start throwing a bunch of crap around. In short: the first half of this anime is really fun and well put together, the second half is some of the most poorly written obnoxious garbage I've ever watched. Take that for what it is. Oh, and the fresh take on the zombie apocalypse is tossed out the window in the last episode with a generic "let's find a c…

Zom 100 is one of those anime that catches you completely off-guard. I usually need a few episodes before I form a strong opinion, but here, after just one, I was already overwhelmed in the best way possible. The first episode alone delivers such a visually wild, emotionally sharp, and creatively directed experience that I immediately knew this show had something special. The animation is incredible, packed with energy and impact frames that go far beyond what you expect from a first episode. The color work deserves particular praise. The use of gray, muted tones to reflect a suffocating lifestyle, contrasted with explosive, vibrant hues once the true story kicks in, is a stroke of genius. Visually, it feels alive in a way that very few anime manage. At its core, Zom 100 is a story about…

Started off very string, with a very good premise and themes about living life the way you want to, which I feel like any workaholic would relate to. After the first 3ish episodes, there was no clear direction plotwise, the chracters were shallow, and it relied on shonen troupes which made it feel unrealistic and did not help portray the theme well. Great premise and beginning, but bad execution after it. If the premise and live your life your way themes interests you, go watch this but don't expect much. Plot: 4/10 - Nothing really here besides the premise, there are some conflict but it felt unrealistic and forced Comedy: 4/10 - nothing much here, I got sick of the naked jokes pretty quickly Characters: 5/10 - the main 3 (besides the foreinger) were pretty well thought out and deep…

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (2023) adapted from the manga by Haro Aso. Tells the story of Akira Tendo, an office worker trapped in a monotonous and stressful life. When a zombie outbreak hits Tokyo, instead of being scared, Akira feels liberated from his dull routine and decides to live life on his own terms. He creates a bucket list of 100 things to do before turning into a zombie. Along the way, Akira meets Kencho, his best friend who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian, Shizuka, a woman seeking to break free from a strict and structured life, and Beatrix, a quirky German tourist fascinated by Japanese culture, who stands out in her samurai armor. Together, they embark on absurd and exciting adventures in a world falling apart. The anime’s visuals are super fun, with vibrant and…

The sheer love I feel for this anime cannot be described The protagonist is such a special positive person in a non-toxic way that is actually respectable and a role-model and you can 100% get why he is like that This anime cuts deep into motivation, depression and what truly matters in life in a unique joyful way, characters feel flawed and human and written in compelling ways, their stories make you understand why they are like that in a way that feels very real and you'll often feel like you want to just hug them Truly an inspiring anime and the opening matches really well with it, the final version feels like a masterpiece of an opening too 100% underrated hidden gem Also screw the MC's boss, that guy is a douche with smol pp energy

WELL, I just finished this anime, and I'm thrilled to share my thoughts! Many viewers are sure to identify with the main characters, especially if they're feeling unfulished in their current job. Can you imagine waking up in a zombie apocalypse? It's the ultimate chance to become the happiest person alive. But would you survive? The plot isn't just about surviving — it's about pursuing your dreams and doing the things you've always wanted to do in life, even if that meant leaving your job. This anime is an absolute gem, a thrilling adventure that is perfect for young adults and teens in their late teenage years. What makes this anime so special is its refreshing approach to the zombie apocalypse genre. Instead of taking itself too seriously, it opts for a lighthearted and entertaining tone,…

This show started with a bang. The first 3 episodes were strong and interesting... but after that the show literally had nothing more to offer. CONCEPT = 5/10 Normally this would be "plot" but Zom 100 doesn't really have one. What it does have instead is a concept, what if the apocalypse happened and you were now free to do all the things you never made time for before as a working adult. Because our MC-kun here was a timid office drone his wants are rather benign and generic. Confess to the girl you like, eat high end sushi, visit hot springs..etc. All of this done with the threat of Zombies as background noise. What's interesting about this was that the manga released in 2018. Two full years before the pandemic and yet it accurately portrays how a lot of people started to act once…

one of the most fun anime i have ever seen , the story about the innocence being crushed in the working world , then being a good adult working for a company that exploits your soul to point where a literal apocalypse gives you more joy. As a 31 year old guy who worked 70 - 90 hour weeks for months without a single day off during covid i sympathize with the protagonist. Story - takes a zombie troupe and bucket list mixes them nicely Art - not the best art but still great and fits the story Characters - fun characters that balance each other out
