This series is Much more digestible than the original one. The narrowing on focus really helped a lot. However, what I don't understand is why Sousuke isn't as focused on his mission, (the whole reason he is at School in the first place) Chidori. She gets into so many dangerous quest and bro just does not care and is focused on blowing everything up. But Whatever... it was entertaining enough. It felt like watching a semi episodic story Like Gintama. And non of the characters made me want to pop of a blood vessel but Miss Kaname came close a couple of times. Was definitely needed to help flush her character out more than the Screaming bipolar b*tch we see in the original.
Will I continue watching to the next season? nah I am good. but I will scour the internet for FMP! Family cuz thats c…

I was really intrigued by the idea of turning Full Metal Panic into a full rom-com, since the setup and potential were already present in season 1, and honestly, Fumoffu was just simply brilliant. Unlike most comedy or slice-of-life anime, this series leans into its greatest strength: self-awareness. It parodies its own source material so thoroughly that it becomes hilarious in its own right. I never expected a mecha series to transition into a completely canon slice-of-life comedy for its second season (or “season 1.5”), yet it works perfectly, adding new characters while also expanding on what viewers already loved.
Where most anime gloss over plot holes with a shrug of “it’s anime,” Fumoffu instead uses parody to tackle and exaggerate those very absurdities. While Japanese anime often…

It's a good anime, unlike the first season of Fullmetal Panic, this one focuses on school comedy and a bit of romance revolving around the characters Sagara and Chidori, where most of the events are intentionally caused by Sagara and Chidori has to fix them.
There isn't much developed romance, but there are some good situations between Sagara and Chidori that generate enjoyable and funny moments in the series.
The anime doesn't have mecha fights, just action to introduce some events.
The student council president is quite interesting, seeming to know something more about Sagara.
Other characters are the same as in the previous season; I must point out that Tessa looks really beautiful in this animation.
The animation is nicer than in the first season; the characters' features have imp…

If you have seen the first season, Fumoffu may surprise or delight you. However, even if you are a new viewer, you can still enjoy the show, although you may appreciate the character interactions more if you had watched the previous season. I really enjoyed the show's fun and carefree tone. The season features the student committee, led by a composed leader who always carries a Japanese fan. They put Kaname in some ridiculous situations. The slapstick humor is more frequent and extreme. Japanese anime comedy does not always translate well for international viewers, but I found several episodes enjoyable and had some genuine laughs. Some of the best scenes in the show come from Bonta-kun. In several episodes, Sousuke disguises himself by wearing a large amusement park suit of Bonta-kun. He…

The first anime that made me laugh until I cried. It's that funny, and definitely one of the better comedy animes out there. Give it a try (but watch the original series before you watch this comedic offshoot, or the jokes with and between certain characters won't make much sense).
Best episodes? "The Hard Sell Fetish" is excellent and strange, but what got the most attention online for a long time was the truly weird episode, "The Warcry of Excessiveness" involving a rugby team. If you only watch one episode, try that.
9/10, and the length is perfect as well. Can knock it over in a few sittings.
Random fact: did you know the school in which this takes place, is based off a real school, Jindai (神代), in Tokyo? People have gone there in pilgrimage.

I just find it funny how this season might be the best anime series out of all of Full Metal panic, or at least it's the most consistent and entertaining. Somehow the jokes revolving around Sousuke and his military history never get old, it's great. It's animated surprisingly well, especially for the time, I have practically no complaints. The characters are maybe a little stereotypical, but nonetheless entertaining. If anything, they could've made this season a little longer, maybe not 2 full seasons of this but a few more episodes would've worked nicely.
One note I'll say is I think the dub cast is excellent, Chris Patton perfectly plays the role of Sousuke, and the episode where he acts as a drill sergeant for a sports team is just hilarious.

Ah, slice of life. The genre of anime you do when you don't want to progress the plot at all.
This season of Full Metal Panic is purely filler, and you know what, I'm okay with that. If you want to keep the franchise marketable, keep it in people's minds, but you don't have any more canon material to adapt, I'm perfectly fine with a little anime filler. But this is the only right way to do it. Make a separate series, put the main story on hiatus. Don't pretend it has continuity with the main series, have it be purely episodic adventures outside that scope. Don't stick filler episodes willy nilly into the main series constantly until you have like 40% filler and you have to watch it like a schizophrenic skipping episodes left and right to get the canon story on rewatch. I'm looking at you…

I’ll try to keep this short and may revisit this as I have time.
Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is an interesting anime because it marks the beginning of an era. As the first work from the groundbreaking Kyoto Animation studio, it represents the studio’s initial stretching of its legs and discovery of their signature style. FMPF features so much of the KyoAni feeling that we experience even today, from the music to the art style to the characters to the comedy. It’s almost its own history lesson into my favorite animation studio.
First – the bad. This show leans very heavily on fanservice, which I find to be really off-putting in a show that is designed to be comedic. It definetely finds its audience in those to whom crudeness is an appealing trait. What’s most frustrating is that there is ve…

Robert's Too Late Reviews coming at ya, though I couldn't find a bonta kun costume my size! As always we're working the dub. As we look over today's entry, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, first remember #PrayForKyotoAni and also that this is *not* a mainline entry in the Full Metal Panic! series. This is very much a side story and is not directly related to Season one, the Second Raid, or Invisible Victory. Short of it is, if you liked the 'school antics' part of the main story, this is nothing but that, and you'll be in heaven! If you're looking for more mecha action and tangible bad guys, might want to pass. Let's airlift this thing outta here!
Story:8
The story shifts from the high stakes and world domination of the Second Raid (this came out before Invisible Victory) and moves firmly into…

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu have a special place in my heart. It was one of the first ever Slice of Life, Comedy`s i ever saw, and i have been in love with it ever since. And i can say that you can watch Fumoffu and enjoy it to its fullest, even if you don`t know anything about the serie at all, because that was how i started. I did not know that there was a first season, when i started watching Fumoffu, and i was surpriced when i learned that there were both a first, and third season(today there is a fourth season as well, that i have not seen yet)
That is probably also why, that i feel that Fumoffu is the strongest season of them all. It plays on all the components which makes this show great, its loveable characters. You get to see them in all kind of weird and funny situations, that wou…

If Second Raid was the more serious, plot driven season, then Fumoffu is the slice of life comedic school season...
Fumoffu as LA said above is the more school-comedic-centric season out of the Full Metal Panic! seasons and is VERY much needed to somewhat counterbalance the Second Raid's seriousness and militaristic aspects and by all means Fumoffu does an exceptional job in both it's school life and comedy aspects.
Well since it's back to school, it means the typical hijinks of Sousuke and Chidori with Sousuke's lack of common sense but taken to some degrees of extremities for some of the hijinks TO ensue. New characters also comes into the mix, such as Ren Mikihara and Atsunobu Hayashimizu of the school council who gets Sousuke and Chidiori ALSO into some weird crazy situations, Issei…

Fumoffu did comedy right. A lot of these side specials and comedy episodes in other anime usually are not as funny but this collection by itself is great even without the main seasons. Very comical, it's basically a more standard slice of life scenario going on with some action but none of it is actually serious. Tense situations always end up comical compared to how they usually would play out in the main story line.
Each episode is it's little own story for the most part, and there is really no main story going on here just some little stories that are like comedy skits. I didn't hate any of them the writers did a good job making sure each episode wasn't dull at all. Usual comic relief you'll see in the other seasons is enhanced ten fold in each episode.

Synopsis- the story is described as a spin-off the full metal panic series as there is a question mark instead of an exclamation mark in the title describing is ambiguity in the full metal panic cannon although it's sometimes regarded as the second season of full metal panic. the reason why is that the season is mostly a school comedy without the military and mechs from the previous season. also worth noting is the series was handed over from gonzo to kyoto animation, wierd huh.
Story- the story is mostly the comedy parts of the previous season, and encompassing it for the entirety of this season . there isn't much if a plot to go by but mostly "funny" situations that Sagara and Chidori get into. the skits usually last half an episode or for the entire episode with smaller jokes in the mi…

Fumoffu is the 2nd series of Full Metal Panic. Unlike the first series which is somewhat serious and the 3rd which is a bit dark, Fumoffu has no villains, all-comedy and watching the characters in the story fail, get into unnecessary situations and use extraordinary methods to achieve something.
I believe it was a pretty heartwarming series considering what the protagonist have to go through later on. In addition, you get to see Fumoffu(although Sasuke in disguise) into action. A stuff animal running around causing rampage is a good way to cause some laughs. In a sense, this this Sasuke changing the world around him even though methods can be a bit extreme at times.
It is a pretty enjoyable series. Nothing but to say, except it will be a relief pill the moment you go to the 3rd and final…

FMP? Fumoffu
This is totally different from the real stories, this is like a spin off, one that is aimed to be full comedy without an specific storyline and i got to point out this is much better than the original and the Second Raid and much more enjoyable than both combined.
Story
Well there's no actual linear storyline but more like episodic stories in which every episode has two funny ''stories'' or daily life moments in which Sousuke finds himself and other ones in trouble triggering funny moments, that's it, expect to laugh a lot and Chidori this time has justification for her violence towards Sousuke and is less violent than in the other two adaptations in which it was unjustified over the top non sense violence and i hated that but here it's justified and even funny, sometimes she…

Fumoffu is actually an aside season of the FMP universe. Whereas the main FMP universe is pretty dark and is filled with serious action, FMP is filled with unrelenting humor. I actually watched Fumoffu before watching FMP or TSR so I can attest that this hilarious piece about a military soldier attempting to blend in with Japanese society and high school life. Though knowledge of the base FMP show is helpful at times, this can actually be watched standalone.
Fully enjoyable without knowing anything about the characters from FMP. This series is purely a delight to watch and a great show to entertain guests with.
Animation:
Crisp and colorful, Kyoto Animation did a great job with this one. The characters are all drawn very nicely and the overall look is very pleasing; this is definitely am…

Fumoffu takes place immediately following season 1 of FMP, while FMP isn't exactly required, I'd recommend watching it to get the backstory of fumoffu, and honestly it was pretty good for a mecha so you'll probably enjoy it anyway.
Anyway, at its core, this was a slice of life comedy, it took all of the best moments from season 1 and created a spin off series based on it. It stars Chidori, a normal high school girl with a special background explained in season 1, and Sosuke, a highly trained military soldier who lacks any personality beyond his vast military background, who was assigned to protect Chidori in season 1. The story basically explains what happens on a day to day level after season 1 wraps up, and it leaves you incredibly satisfied.
The characters are where this show really s…

Ok so this will be my first review ever so I'll try my best!
Firstly if you haven't seen full metal panic(first season) I suggest watching that before this. Now let's get down to it, this anime was just great I was literally on the floor laughing the whole time because it's all about the COMEDY!! sousuke sagara is gotta be one of my favorite characters of all time because he so oblivious to everything and he shows it the most in this season. So grab some popcorn and enjoy the laughs Bc It's a masterpiece 10/10

Overall
Fumoffu is trying to be what the FMP TV series should have been. Sadly, I think it fails on several points. The original quickly transformed from an interesting setting into meaningless mecha-action without even touching the most interesting part of the setting; the boy-meets-girl and the humour that the clash between two such different characters would instigate. This 13 episodes were a chance to set things right.
Animation
I think the animation is a good way above average (it's actually really great), and the characters very nicely designed. Umm, yeah, so far so good.
Sound
Everything is fine here. More than fine, actually, the opening theme is one of my absolut favourites and the ending theme is good too. And a thumb up for the "Bunta-kun running" sound effects.
