Real Girl

Real Girl

Introduction

For Hikari Tsutsui, life within the two-dimensional realm is much simpler. Socially inept and awkward, he immerses himself in video games and anime, only to be relentlessly ridiculed and ostracized by his classmates. Sharing his misery is Yuuto Itou, his only friend, who wears cat ears and is equally obsessed with the world of games. After being forced to clean the pool as punishment for arriving late, Tsutsui meets Iroha Igarashi, but he attempts to steer clear of her, as her notoriety precedes her. Brazenly blunt, loathed by female classmates, and infamous for messing around with boys, Tsutsui believes that getting involved with her would cause nothing but problems. 3D Kanojo: Real Girl is a story revolving around these two outcasts—a boy full of emotions he has never experienced before, struggling to lay them bare, and a girl who strives to break him out of his shell. The story is honestly so unique, and even though I don’t really write reviews, I feel like I had to say something. I really hate how some people call this romance anime trash because that’s just not true. This anime seriously messes with your feelings in the best way. The last three episodes had me feeling everything tears, happiness, excitement, all of it. The ending was perfect, no complaints. The animation looks amazing, the voice acting fits so well, and every episode keeps you emotionally invested. Having three couples in one romance makes it even better. For people hating or spreading misinformation, just stop. This anime is easily a 9.5/10.

💕 Days In The Strife Of A Nerd 💞 °VG° °7.5° 💯%🔍 some minor spoilers “Why do I suk so much at being a normal human?” "Fictional girls are definitely better. The real ones are too cruel from my experience," responds Itou Yuuto, Tsutsui's bestie. That's exactly how our ML, Tsutsui Hikaru, feels. He's the type of guy who worries about his perfect attendance at school. So, when he's teamed up with a beautiful girl (who has a ❔? ¿questionable❓⁉ reputation) to clean the pool, he hates her already. The first thing she says to him is: “Don't you find it gross when your long bangs get into your eyes?” All he heard was ‘you're gross’. He's mean to her before she can be mean to him. However, he keeps running into her. Next, she helps him out in a small way, so he defends her from a boy who's…

While the anime had an interesting premise—exploring the contrast between an otaku and a popular girl in a romantic setting—the execution felt lacking in several areas. One of the biggest drawbacks was the pacing. The relationship between Hikari and Iroha often felt rushed, making emotional developments seem unearned. While some moments were heartwarming, many conflicts resolved too quickly, reducing their impact. Additionally, the character development was inconsistent. Hikari’s growth from a socially awkward otaku to someone who understands real relationships was decent, but Iroha’s character sometimes felt underdeveloped. Another weak point was the animation quality. While not terrible, it lacked fluidity, and some scenes felt visually unpolished. The supporting characters had potenti…

The title, and the premise, might seem a bit cheezy, and the show isn't very unique in it's plot, premise, characters etc. But, something I really liked about this show is the pacing. Nothing is dragged out to oblivion (as is the case in many romance anime). You look back at some scenes and you think "Huh? That was just 10 minutes ago? Why does it feel like 10 episodes ago?". Yet, nothing feels rushed, and it's still manages to be engaging and fun to watch. This anime is my favorite romance anime! The story is so perfect, with the pace smooth and precise. The protagonist is weak and Otaku, but your development is incredible. This romance isn't for surface persons, that they want only fast script, without signification. The characters, all it, are incredible. The best friend of protagonist has a good development too. The girlfriend of protagonist is beautiful and... somewhat disrespectful in the beginning. In resume: This is an anime is very good. I don't know why the persons have both hate for this anime. This is perfect. Don't hear this person with hate, probably they don't understand the anime.

Do not let the scores and 1st season deceive you, this anime starts strong, it develops very mildly during the first season... but the real meat of the story comes in the 2nd season and makes this whole season 1 so much more memorable. I really dislike having good anime destroyed by "early scores" given buy clueless people who did not bother to watch the entire series seasons. And this seems to be the case with this one. It might look a like your everyday shojo that’s very forgettable, but you couldn't be more wrong about it. Think of the first season as something happy to prepare you for the clash that the 2nd season is about to come crash on you. Most of the happy moments happen in this season and everything is blown away with the next season, trust me you are not expecting what is to c…

We are talking about the first season here, totally there is nothing I expected from this anime in the first place but did not expect that I would be egger to season 2 in the 3rd episode, it will make you relate to real-life otaku, and extrovert girls. highly recommended but if you wanna have more mystery about the anime do not search for anything about it cause it will just set your expectation and you will be shocked that they made it even more perfect. Most unique plot twist of this anime you cold not even predict what would happen to the next episode also who could not be in love with the genre of anime.

I find myself perplexed by the extraordinary amount of animosity directed towards the characters in this show. Granted, there were moments where certain characters felt out of place or cringeworthy. However, it is the captivating storyline that truly shines, making this ensemble of characters one of my absolute favorites. The narrative unfolds in a magnificent manner, effortlessly drawing viewers into its mesmerizing world. Despite any flaws in character portrayal, the overall charm and depth of the story prevail, leaving an indelible impression on my entertainment repertoire. Without a doubt, this show has earned its place among the finest in my collection.

The anime had been a rollercoaster of emotions, most of them making you happy for the main character. There's so many things about this anime that had been played well, though it'd be a 10/10 if they were perfect. One complaint is that the main character barely changes at all throughout the season. He's always so gloomy and compares himself to everyone around him, even wondering why exactly she's interested in him. Overall though, the characters are interesting, it has good plot and good animation. It's a romance anime, with a timer, it's not exactly very unpredictable, though it's still good in the end.

3D Kanojo: Real Girl is a painful experience. A lazily shat out rom-com that uses cliches and plot contrivances as a crutch to hobble its way through twelve agonizing episodes. Proudly it presents insultingly stereotypical characters that are anything but three-dimensional. All you need to do is gaze upon this glorious shitfest and it becomes abundantly clear what the show’s main issue is: it’s fucking hideous. The art is a disaster; backgrounds are a mess of fuzzy colors, there’s very little animation, and in an attempt to stay on model the characters hardly change their expressions. All the show has going for its visuals are the character designs, and even those are just the same faces mediocrely drawn and in worsening quality as the show progresses. The love interest, Iroha, has one…

-intro, and what I like most- "try not use use pronouns" Well sorry, but that's not how this review will be. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't go into story or character details. Anyway, in my opinion this anime is almost criminally underrated. As someone who was an outcast who tried to suppress my emotions because I didn't want to feel pain through most of my school years, these characters are some of the most relatable I have ever seen. But it shows how someone who is so far into their shell, and so terrified of socializing, can be pulled out of it and shown why feeling all that pain is so worth it for the few happy memories. -The main characters and story- There are no perfect characters. Every one of them has problems. Jealousy they know is unfair and misplaced. Treating someo…

On paper the series sounds rather generic, but the execution was immensely satisfying to me. The synthesis of an interesting plot catalyst, atypical characters, and an original art/character style, made this a satisfying series run with a wonderful sense of resolution. The leads and their friends were all fairly compelling characters with some interesting development, even tertiary characters like parents & siblings get some worthwhile development. The story always felt rich and moving with relatable emotions and was conveyed with good dramatic flourish, and offers happy endings for the main cast that feel tangible & satisfying. The art and colour palette suited the dramatic tone of the series and characters all had visual appeal and musical selections were well matched to the scenes depic…

While searching for some casual romance anime, I encountered 3D Kanojo: Real Girl. The synopsis was intriguing, so I decided to try it. And it was somewhat worth it? The story, and characters, so oh boi, we start from cons again. The story isn't necessarily that bad when we look at the overall outcome, but some things in this show were so idiotic and nonsensical, that I couldn't enjoy the show fully. First off, our main character is pictured as a total dumbass, with zero social skills, only watching anime, going to school, and is being known for being the mockery in his school. And of course, it is possible to encounter this type of people, but picturing this type of people in the anime is just harmful. MC goes through literal hell, just because he's an "anime fan" and a pretty shy and qu…

I was watching this series years ago and then I got busy with life. I stopped having time to watch much of anything and eventually I had forgot all about this series. I just recently stumbled across it on a streaming site and picked it back up and finished it by binging it all in about 4 days. Ironic, given the premise of this series. I felt the need to put this review on the first season because it has a considerably lower score than the second season. I want people who might be interested in picking up this series to know that the two seasons are very much one fluid story and inseparable. While this season seems to have a somewhat lower score, I'm assigning my scores based on the entirety of both seasons of the anime since I figure most people will start this with the intent to watch it…

Uneven quality of the plot and too many coincidences used make it limp and unable to fulfil its real promise. Liked it because it points out how bullying targets various subcultures and how kids cope with it, especially the threat and use of violence. Being a target as a student, I could see parallels to various bullied subcommunities who banded together (but often excluded non-bullied outsiders). I was the independent uncaring yet perpetually insecure Tsutsui though (whose toughness ironically proved useful in my life). Your personality also becomes 'strange' and complex to 'normals'. Am curious to know whether others who were bullied feel the same way as me about this series or whether they can't identify with them.

Average, Average, Average. This anime was SOOOOOO mid. This anime had one relationship problem after the other. There was little no moment in this anime where one of the relationships had a chance to actually do something like in a normal relationship. I would only recommend this anime to anyone who either plays a lot of anime style games, or watch anime, only due to the fact the main character is an otaku. story just explored the events which happened revolving the main character and his friends. I really hoped the couple in the story would have done something more like go on an actual fun date. I'm sure something happens in season 2 of this series but in my opinion this season of the anime seemed really boring and overall mid. If you liked watakoi you will probably like this anime…

It's pretty rare that I drop a series and then go back to it, and it's doubly rare that I retroactively bump the score of said series after finishing it, but dammit Real Girl, you almost lost me and then you got me back and when you got me back DAMN. I was hooked. This is a show where I really recommend committing to both seasons because a lot of the slower, lazily paced first season builds into what makes the second season hit really hard and well. I also do love a good slow burn, too, so if you like shows like My Love Story this is definitely one to try. Ok, but why? Why get six episodes into a show, drop it, and then circle back several months later? I'll admit that part of it was watching Colleen's excellent "The Decline of Shoujo Anime" video, during which I learned that this is one…

People really should not sleep on this anime. It seems like it was the typical nerdy guy gets hot girl story that regular tv shows and movies portray to us as viewers, but that is not the case with this anime. The main characters have depth to their personalities and so do the side characters. I felt for the characters and can relate to their problems like many others when it comes to relationships and expectations of others. As well as trying to please others even though it doesn't make you happy. its sweet in the sad, but honest way. The art work is very colorful and sweet as well and the music isn't that bad either.

I don't think I've ever had a tough time reviewing an anime because of the controversy (or not... depending who you are) of one character. Grats Real Girl, we found ourselves a winner! Story: Real Girl takes place at a high school, and centres around a video game and anime obsessed, Hikari Tsutsui. He shows up late for school one day and is punished by having to clean the pool with another student who showed up late, the beautiful Iroha Igarashi. They're alike in that neither have a plethora of friends, but because loners stick together, Iroha defends Hikari when their classmates bully him. He does the same when some classmates equally talk down on Iroha and she sees a personality that she respects, leading them to start dating. The length of the season takes us through the ups and downs…

You know, sometimes I just like to watch a sappy romance story about two teenagers falling in love. I've been watching a number of these lately and this one was alright. Not spectacular or anything but the characters are cute and have good chemistry together and it's nice to see a guy with low self-esteem catch a break once in a while. I think there's a double meaning in the title. 3D Kanojo is just otaku speak for a girl that exists outside of those dating sim visual novels they all play, but Real Girl seems more significant. "Real" is kind of a slur used by otaku to condemn people they think are caught up in the "real world." Playing a lot of games or watching a lot of anime with idyllic depictions of youth and romance will give you a skewed outlook on what life should be like, and you'…
