Taboo Tattoo is the kind of anime that immediately grabs attention with its premise. The idea of mysterious markings capable of granting supernatural powers, combined with military conflicts, secret organizations, and large-scale battles, creates a very promising foundation. Unfortunately, the execution falls far short of the potential the work appears to have in the first few episodes.
One of the anime's biggest problems is its extremely fast pace. The adaptation attempts to condense a huge amount of content into just one short season, and the result is a rushed narrative. Events unfold so quickly that there's almost no time to absorb them, understand the characters' motivations, or create any kind of emotional connection with them. Many important revelations pass without impact becaus…

The anime doesnt know how to pick a tone and stick to it. Its all over the place.
One point its serious and brutal. And then the next its ecchi cartoony comedy. The tones are constantly clashing.
The anime also tries to play mind games as to who is really supposed to be the bad guys. But its just not that interesting.
The main villainess is always monologuing some eye-rolling pretentious philosophical BS. And is easily the worst character in the show. (+1 point to her for providing the ecchi stuff i suppose).
The other characters are actually not bad. They are good characters in a bad story.
The story is about a boy named Justice who has a strong sense of justice. Who gets a special tattoo after saving a supposedly homeless man.
But he's not the only one with a tattoo. Others also have…

You shouldn't watch this unless you don't have anything else to watch and are desperate for something from this genre.
I hated all the characters. The interesting aspects of the characters were left unexplored.
The story was interesting. However, there's no real focus on the story. It's also one of those shows where people survive the most ridiculous events, when they clearly should have died. Then, later on someone will die from something far less lethal, not because it makes any sense but because the plot now demands it.
To be clear, I don't know anything about the source material; and, there are good points about the show. However, you shouldn't watch this unless you don't have anything else to watch and are desperate for something from this genre.

There's no such way to translate this, but how can I say: to make this anime "a bad choice to watch", we still gonna need a lot.
They didn't focused at anything. It seems that they mixed a lot of different and divergent ideas at once, and tried to create this rushed anime. The history lies on cliches and, don't get me wrong, they started to work, but at some point, the anime was just a nonsense history. We could easily, remove the ending and create a more simplier anime. I'm pretty frustrated of watching this. But I need to admit, the illustrators and animators did make a great job.

Ever Since the first the very first episode I was thinking "What an expected storyline, characters and advancement". Every episode I watched made me think "why the hell am I even watching this?"
The plot forcefully adding erotic scenes at the most inconvenient places ever in a pathetic attempt to make the anime appealing to some. The scenes came at very stupid places where they were totally unnecessary. For once I found very pedophiliac as well, that might be my own opinion though.
What annoyed me most is that the fights and story were not logical at all and felt like were being fast forwarded. The protagonist lacks the purpose to back up his reason for joining the fights to begin with, just a teen who wants to become strong for no obvious reasons. Let alone the fact that someone so close…

Summary: Taboo Tattoo is a superhero action series that is so ostentatiously stupid and bad that it loops back around into being kind of fun. It isn't a show that I could possibly recommend, but I didn't exactly have a bad time watching it either. It's the type of show that would be great to watch with a group of friends and laugh at. If you turn your brain off and don't even attempt to seriously engage with the content, there's a decent amount of fun to be had here.
Positives:
+ The action scenes are usually cool and it's got an interesting sense of style. There's a little too much CGI but the drawn stuff all looks very good.
+ Kind of funny when it tries to be funny, and really funny when it tries to be serious. The show is clearly at least somewhat aware of how bad it is and leans in…

At one point I lost all hope for this show. What is justice when their is nothing to protect but your growing ego in this unfair world. Afterwards his words was next to shiet, spouting bs whichever next person to protect. It's like telling everyone, I don't give a shiet. The anger wasn't even portrayed right such lackluster approach on the plot. The subtlety of fan service was downright distracting, it was rampant and unnecessary at times. The phasing of up and downs were out of place. I had high hopes for the show. but meaningless deaths made me want to throw up for the lack of connection, he even worships the new found idol he had instead of reminiscing his friend, this show is truly empty, more empty than the void powers he is using.

This anime is good but what bores me is that the MC doesn't use his powers to kill I mean it's bland asf also justice? lmao the f*ck with this mc what his backstory besides his father dying?? It's your typical super power anime shit where someone get's hurt then you go to rage but you don't kill the enemy causing more deaths of innocent lives because you didn't put an end to the problem thus causing you to rage yourself once again like heck I've seen that a hundred times already.
Also the scenes where the girl fondles another girls breats is cringy asf this is why in general anime isn't that safe to watch in public.
Anyways that's all moving on..

Overall, I thought it was a great anime, I especially liked the main premise of the show, with the tattoos and special abilities.
What I didn't like was the ending, which I'm not gonna spoil here, but I think they should have done it differently. What I mean by this is especially the final fight. You'll get what I mean when you watch it...
I would have given an 8 or even a 9 if they would have changed the ending, but ending the show like this, doesn't feel very satisfying and now I wish for a different ending!
But to end on a few good notes, I'd say that the visuals were very pleasing (except for the last episode) and that I never had the problem that I didn't want to continue watching the show, so I have to say that I enjoyed it.

I have no idea what's wrong with some people. cliche? spare me with this. there were other worst cliche animes out there and somehow you pick on this one. It was good, an original story, good art, decent sound and had most of what people search for. a lot of hate but the anime was very good.
Overall i gave it a 10 because it was very good. I started it on 19:00 telling myself i'll watch 1/2 episodes and then go to bed as i had school next day morning yet the anime was so good that i stayed till 4 am just to finish it.
Season 2 was announced in the last episode.still waiting for it

I really love Taboo Tattoo. The way the characters powers work was very interesting. Getting powers through a tattoo. The powers themselves was also very interesting and cool. I really liked the fight scenes, filled with plenty of satisfying action and outcomes. In my opinion the battles was balanced with the whole "good guys win, good guys lose" thing. The characters are pretty good as well. I think they have good development. The story was very interesting although I think they could've gone into more detail about the Tattoos and the characters backstories. Overall I think this anime is very interesting and awesome

Taboo Tattoo was a pain for the eyes because of two main reasons:
1 - The main character is nothing more and nothing less than a "tool". He is a mere device that aids people accomplish their tasks. Saying that he was used or manipulated would be too much of a praise.
2 - I honestly don't know what they wanted to do with the story, but I know they seriously failed. Not only it progresses too fast, but the conclusions have no meaning and are barely satisfying.
This was labeled seinen, but it is more like a failed shounen. I have to praise the author for getting this pile of shit turned into an anime, honestly. The reason why they even considered making it into an anime is beyond me.
For anyone who wants to watch this anime, trust me, don't. This isn't worth wasting your time.

Ever wanted to see a middle school boy take on a perverted princess bent on taking over the world by using military weapons? Now is your chance to see exactly what kind of chaos follows.
Seigi, a middle school martial artist is gifted with a strange tattoo that begins to change his life. He suddenly develops super natural strength, healing, and an ability to eat up all molecular matter. He is then whisked away from middle school and into a branch of the American military called the Tattoo Retrieval Unit. The military is at war with a fictional Kingdom ruled by lewd Princess Aryahbata who wants to claim all tattoo weapons for herself.
The genre is a mesh of action, comedy, supernatural, and mecha/military types. The plot for this series remained extremely jumpy, full of holes, and unnecess…

“What is it? What is it? Show us!”
Our class clamored. Mr. E, the best fifth-grade teacher this side of elementary school, was loved by everyone. Students and teachers alike. Clean-cut hair, green polos, khakis. Alongside his beaming smile, he always looked professional and cool.
And he also hid a secret on his left bicep.
“Maybe once you guys and girls graduate and go on to sixth grade. Until then, no deal!”
We always wondered what kind of tattoo he had. Something personal about himself? Something naughty? Something he accidentally got? Throughout all of fifth grade, from the class trips to the assemblies held in the main hall of the school, we tried sneaking peeks to see what it could possibly be. But to no a…

I wasted 12 episodes worth of my life based on the best fight scene I've ever seen (to date) in the first episode. It has boring plot that is executed in the worst possible way without any beneficial character development.
The visuals, initial character intro and seemingly interesting plotline might pull you in but don't be fooled. It's one of those anime that you watch going down the drain as it continues, hoping that it delivers on its initial promise only to end up extremely disappointed.
It is not necessarily a bad anime, more like extremely boring. At some point, you realise that anything going on is pretty much inconsequential and the outcome is very clear. It starts off spectacularly only to spiral downward after the first few episodes. By the end, I literally asked myself WTF did…

Basically the only good things about this anime is the voice acting/sound/animation.
Like most reviews in here have said, the story is too rushed, i'm sure it's more fleshed out in the manga but it's still mediocre at best, it tries to tackle overused tropes and puts an original take on it however that doesn't work well, the execution is just poor, killing off characters for shock value is simply pathetic at least in the anime, the relationships between characters are very superficial 12 episodes weren't enough to expand on that, every episode you lose track of what happened in the last until the very few last episodes, only those seem connected.
bullshit power ups the protagonist recieves against the already superior final villain. Overall a trainwreck.

The idea of this anime was good, but with a poor execution. It had no sense much of chapters, linking random things.
The study in charge of produce the series is: J.C.Staff, producer of others great series as Shokugeki no Soma, Toradora, Shakugan no Shana, Ikkitousen, Zero no Tsukaima or Slayers, so I'm very sad because I had hopes with another great production of this studio.
Pick up typicial ideas of any anime in his genre: rampant action, a school with teenagers, and supernatural powers to defeat an almighty enemy.
Althought the battles are very exciting with a good moments of action, all of them are cut by the same pattern, so you lose the emotion to the half of the series.
I don't understand how having made series so wonderful as Slayers and then produces this. Yes, ok...is entert…

Gosh, where do I start...
Right. Taboo Tattoo is like finding a good book with a good summary printed on it, only when you flip it and start to read it, you realize it's horrible. I imagined the creation of this anime started out with a guy who had some sort of checklist.
"How to make a good shounen anime. You need:
- Child protagonist ( )
- The Chosen One ( )
- School setting ( )
- Comedy ( )
- Female fanservice ( ) - Romance ( )
- Token Loli ( )
- Good backstory for side characters ( )
- Big boobs ( )
- Badass characters ( )
- OP antagonists ( )
- "Nakama" power ( )
- Gore/Death ( )
- Swear words ( )
- Yuri ( )
- Torture, for MC's growth ( )"
And the guy makes sure it's all there. Sure, they are all there, but the pacing of the story is awful. Some episodes aren't entirely linked to t…

Basically
The starting episodes from 1 to 5 was really good. But then the ending episodes just sucked pure and utter ass. The opening and ending songs are really awesome, since I discovered this anime through osu.
The anime started off with a strong beginning, strong buildup in episode 1, so it got you into the anime.
But then, from each episode to the next, you're absolutely lost, you have no idea what happened because they don't start from the scene from the previous episode but from a scene which is 3 days after that scene. The timeskip from episode 10 to episode 11 of 1 year was stupid.
The anime was rushed, the story wasn't allowed to develop since it didn't have the episodes needed to develop, it was too rushed. If developed properly, this anime would have been a great enjoyment to w…

This anime is awful! I can't believe that people were paid money to make something like that or that the story even got greenlit. So why am I so annoyed by this anime?
The thing is that the story is incredibly mainstream. People have powers and others want to take over the world. What is garbage about that is that the powers come from stones that dissapear on contact with the body and generate a tattoo on the person. BUT if you want to use the power you also have to ducking have a special object in your hand that can range from blood to crayons(BLOODY CRAYONS?!?!). AND the powers aren't even consistent. Some people can shoot black holes and others can teleport. Like how are those magic stones so different from each other?
Everything here is just plain stupid and even the anime stops cari…
