It's one of the best romance/love series for me. I really really liked it so much. I even re-watched it 2-3 times. This story follows a mature love. All the characters are amazing and mature. I love how they calmly react to their fights. How they solve problems it's feel real.
Don't know why nobody talks about it. It's like underrated.
For me the side couple was best. Their love, fight, care everything absolute best. It's so much captivating. I can watch a while series about side couple. I'm in love with them. The mature love gives a kick.
If you like romance anime give it a shot. You might like it as well.💟

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku is a genuinely fun watch. The adult cast and awkward nerd chemistry make it feel more grounded than a lot of anime romcoms, and the humor lands because the characters actually feel like friends instead of archetypes.
That said, the show still falls into some tiring anime habits. There’s a weird amount of focus on women’s chest sizes and body jokes that doesn’t really add anything to the story. It’s not the worst offender by anime standards, but it does occasionally pull me out of otherwise sincere character moments.
What frustrated me most reading discussions about the show wasn’t even the fanservice itself, but the way some viewers talk about the female characters. I’ve seen people reduce Narumi/Momose to “wife material” discourse or treat her flaws like…

Ok, so this anime is a 50/50 between the attention span of the person that is watching the show and how enjoyable the show itself is.
I'm not a professional or anything that looks at every small detail but I think this anime is edible(fine) I would eat(watch) it if someone offered me.
But me personally I don't think this is a rewatch as some people said it could get a little bit boring for some people and me personally I don't think a lot happens it's a very ordinary and average show. The only reason I gave it a fine score is because of the romance it's just bias because I like romance anime and there went nothing wrong with the anime itself.

The plot tells the story of four friends who are otaku, i.e. people who are very interested in games, anime, etc. Each episode is a small sketch of their lives. We are told about their everyday life, their worries and problems, joys and experiences. The friends go to a restaurant or an amusement park, gather at home to play games, quarrel and discuss their hobbies. This is a typical representative of the slice-of-life genre. It's a cute little anime, there are no twists and turns, no deep drama, no character analysis. It will appeal to those who want to watch something very simple and not stressful to turn off their brains after a hard day's work. In my personal opinion, the anime lacked some kind of zest that could be caught on. It's not bad, but it's just a little bit boring.

I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't really interested in this as much as I thought. I think this show is pretty mid.
Although it does have it's good qualities like how it shows the different types of nerds in the world (EX: Yaoi fangirls and Gamers) and the characters being tolerable and kinda relatable, I didn't find this anime all that interesting. It was a little boring at times and the pacing was a little slow.
I also felt like Hirotaka and Narumi weren't really much of a couple to be honest. I found their confession to be very random that I forgot they were even dating and it doesn't help that they've barely shown any chemistry. Of course, I shouldn't be judging this cause I can definitely see the show taking a more realistic approach when it comes to the ship, but to me, I just didn't see…

Love may be hard for otaku, but I also found Wotakoi difficult to rate.
In 2018, I remember Wotakoi being hailed as a refreshing take on the romance anime genre. For once, we graduated from high school and spent some time exploring what romance looks like in the workplace. I, of course, can appreciate that plenty; one of my favorite shows is Golden Time (which takes on a similar twist by taking place in a college setting), and “My Awkward Senpai,” which also tackles a workplace romance, was one of my favorite shows of its season.
I think that last point speaks to my complicated feelings about Wotakoi best. Since 2018, more and more romances have been exploring alternative settings (including the workplace), so while Wotakoi may have forged a path, others have since done it better.
I…

Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku approaches romance from a perspective of adult relationships shaped by hobbies, work routines, and negotiations between personal identity and professional life. The narrative unfolds inside a modern office environment where characters attempt to balance romantic feelings with the often misunderstood world of otaku culture. The story centers on Narumi Momose, a young office worker who carries a long-standing insecurity about personal interests. Narumi enjoys games, anime, and BL manga, but past experiences taught an unfortunate lesson. Previous relationships ended when partners discovered those hobbies and reacted with discomfort or judgment. As a result, Narumi begins a new job with the intention of hiding that part of life entirely and hoping that a more “n…

Wotakoi is supposed to be a comedy anime, not really a romance. Thinking about it now, I don’t even think it works that well as a comedy. That kinda sums up the whole show for me.
Let’s get straight to what really bothered me—the romance. The two main characters, Narumi and Hirotaka, were childhood friends who reconnect and end up dating. But here's the thing: even before all that, Narumi makes it clear that he’s not her type and that she sees him more as a friend. So why on earth does she agree to date him when he confesses? Apparently it’s just because he’s also an otaku, and she’s never tried dating someone who shares her interests. It feels purely convenient.
Basically, from the start, it’s an uneven relationship—Hirotaka actually likes her but struggles to express it, while Narumi c…

✒Otaku Never Wanna Grow Up 🎈 Geeks Need Love Too °6.8° °good° 💯%🔍 some minor spoilers
Momose Narumi (Momo) is a nerd - an Otaku. Forever in love with manga and anime, she had a big case of middle school syndrome. Acutely embarrassed, she doesn't mention that part of her past anymore. She's starting a new job! On day-1, in the hallway, she sees one of her closest friends - from when she was 9 - Nifuji “I want to be a kid forever” Hirotaka. They agree to meet for dinner to catch up. Nifuji is arguably a worse otaku than Momo; at least, he's not embarrassed about what he loves. As she walks away to begin her day at her brand new job, with lots of brand new people, she thinks she's gotten away clean. But then, Nifuji asks about her “former” interests. He asks when everyone is /watching/ a…

Allegedly this is a josei, but feels a lot more like a shoujo. Wotakoi is a highly rated show, I didn't expect it to be so distant from what demographic it should represent, I expected a real josei/seinen show, what I got is just another shoujo in an adult cast/office setting. Every character, every plot, every scene is straight out of any generic high school shoujo show.
It's honestly very tiring that apparently seinen/josei = adult cast, office setting and alcohol.
It's still an enjoyable show, but not for the reason it should be, it's deceiving to say the least. It's mostly about comedy and otaku culture, there's barely any romance, it's very lackluster in that category, I think the romance tag doesn't fit this show.
Besides these 2 pretty significant issues it's a good show, it's fun…

this anime is great, but the ending was bad. unless this gets a season 2. dont get me wrong, i enjoyed watching this, but the ending was one of the worst ive seen. personally, i love the plot of them all being otakus, that piqued my interest to watch. not recommended for low attention span tiktok kids lmao. but i think alot of people will like this because alot.of my friends really liked it tho. i love the personalities of the main characters but i think they should add more characters like in the manga.
overall a solid 7/10, recommended (even for newbies)

THE GOOD:
Golden comedy moments sprinkled with romance and otaku references aplenty will make you smile throughout the episodes. Audio production is solid, from music to voice acting (particular nod to OP and ED themes, both great).
THE MEH:
Visuals and animation are average, but they are enhanced by a decent direction. Comedic timing can be off in some cases, but not enough to spoil the experience.
THE BAD:
The series is very episodic, so you can't expect a real plot or any story/character arc. There's a hint of an arc at the very end with Kou, but that's cut short without any closure.
That's not the real issue though: there are many good romcoms out there which are episodic in nature (e.g. My Love Story). The elephant in the room, here, is the characterization: the protagonists are all…

This anime is in the perspective of a delusional fujoshi and you'll probably not like it if you're a guy.
The writing is very safe, like HR in the room kind of thing, but since it's not aimed at global audience, it's a little bit spicy sometimes
This feels more like an introduction to otaku culture rather than an inside view of an otaku circle. At the first episode we had a premise that the Momose wanted to successfully hide her otaku nature this time but this premise is betrayed in 1st or 2nd episode. She's an otaku but she likes bad boys which belittle her otaku self, but the kind of otaku we see here in the form of Hirotaka is so bland, unimaginative and unrealistic, it's like a caricature of the guy in teenage girl novels, maybe even worse because he doesn't open up at all. Anything h…

For someone who doesn't like romance since middle school, I feel like a dump. I've been getting through some romance anime recently; most of the anime I've watched are bangers. Like this one right here. However, the ending could do a little work since it was open-ended, and it feels like this anime is only a promotion for the source material. I don't mind it because I enjoy every single one of the episodes of this anime.
We are starting this review with the opening theme song. I can't get enough of this opening. I remember listening to this song before I got into the anime and loving it. The calmness, the joy, and the TikTok dance. Those are just some of the best things for an anime opening in one. Hopefully, there will be more like this in the future. Other than the opening, ost itself a…

I had Wotakoi hyped up to hell and back by everyone who mentioned it to me, so I went in expecting some kind of revalatory moment of pure anime nirvana. What I got was a show that was altogether good, but beyond that, it was relatable. As what would be considered an otaku, at least within the scope set by the show, I was able to recognize the struggles that the characters went through. Having a romcom anime that covers a relationship that's in its infancy is interesting, and the characters are absolutely adorable, but there was no moment that really raised this series beyond being just good. I'd recommend it for someone who wants a relatable romantic comedy that has little in the way of drama or conflict. It's a feel good show that delivers on the premise it declares. No more, no less.

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Love is Hard for Otaku) hit close to home for me. As someone who's spent their fair share of time in corporate, I found myself nodding along to the office shenanigans and relatable moments.
The anime expertly explores how colleagues become more than just coworkers - they become your support system, your partners in crime, and your closest friends. Hirotaka and Narumi's relationship is adorable, and their shared love of games and anime makes for some hilarious moments.
What I appreciated most was the supporting cast, particularly Hanako and Tarou's mature relationship. It's beautifully portrayed, showing that even vastly different people can find love and acceptance in each other.
The anime's not without its flaws, though. Some plot points feel a bit convenie…

I really don't understand how this anime gets this much praise, therefore i make it short and quick: One of the most boring animes i've ever watched and had to sit through (it was painful).
>The idea had a lot of potential, but was very badly implemented.
>The story and the characters are mega boring and the romance was non existent.
>The art was pretty average and underwhelming.
>The comedic approach wasn't well-conceived.
I really wanted to like this anime, but was hugely disappointed. Can't recommend it at all...Save your precious time and don't watch it. How this anime could get a nearly 8 score is beyond me.

Wotaku ni koi muzukashii (or Wotakoi for short) is a really nice and cute anime.
Now I have seen some comments saying that this anime has no plot and is just the daily lives of some otaku people. Have you not heard of Slice of Life? This is very much a slice of life, it has little to no plot but is just stuff that happens nearly on the daily. It is nice.
The comedy also nicely hits, usually, if an anime is boring I find myself skipping a lot, but this anime I do not skip times so that is good.
The story is about these 4 people, and they are otakus (nerds). One of them like Yaoi, one is a cosplayer, one loves video games, one loves collecting idols, etc. There are 2 couples in those people, and they are very open about their nerdiness in front of each other. It is very wholesome.

Girl, DTMFA and find someone better - he's either got diagnosable intimacy/social anxiety issues you can't help him with or is just asexual. Either way you can do better and find someone who will fulfill you romantically and sexually and who you will not have to mother as a way of gaining any sort of attention or intimacy.
People praise this for featuring adults, these are not adults. They act like platonic friends and not even particularly close ones. In any other romcom the main guy would be the villain, the romantically useless boring guy the main character realises she needs to dump because he can fulfill none of her needs emotionally or sexually.
I initially quite liked it, 6 out of 10 and quite watchable if nothing special. However in episode 10 I realised I'd completely misread…

Honestly when I was younger in life and I found myself watching this anime it didn't really make a connection with me. I just thought it was boring, but watching it now as I've matured in my anime taste and having my understanding of what a bad and good anime is, I've realised now how amazingly good this anime is. I like how the character grow closer together at there own pace. I've watched countless rom-coms and the way most of them have the character kissing and almost doing the deed by the end of 12ep is kinda cringe and over sexualised. Like sure it works out for some anime but it feels too rushy and I dislike it. Now that being said if its too long then it's kind of a bummer.
Now I know many people would go and say this was boring well I would say there flawed in the views. I feel li…
