As the successor season to Kekkai Sensen itself, what has it tacked onto the series? A current continuation of events and although that is not it, it does make the series on a verge of losing momentum in this iteration of Kekkai Sensen. That is not all to be cracked up by viewers. We do see more into Leonardo's Watch's abilities along with other characters which does add more vibrancy in other areas of this anime.
What is more, is that we see a lack of convergence of some key points such as urban life for others but still a whole lot of action.
The rating tacked onto this review as a result is not too bad but not the most high since there is not a lot of new stuff add besides continuity and not only that, there has been a loss of momentum in the plotline.

this anime was banger for me how did I not watch this one untill this day?!
anywasy, the stor was (even tho it was character based) was smooth and enjoyable. but I didnt see much devolopment in the original story
art style is good and fun to watch.
characters are original, funny and many of them has pride in them.
the chaos is not unexpected, you can predict what is going to happen but still it is not that much that makes you feel bored.
and the main character. man he is growing... from the first season he was not that special even now he is not that special but his actions makes him good and makes you wanna watch him more.
this was it for the second season and I loved it till the end

The most notable and welcome shift in & Beyond is its more pronounced character-focused. Season 2 leans closer to the original manga's format, giving the entire supporting cast their much-deserved time in the spotlight.
Characters like Steven A. Starphase, Chain Sumeragi, and K.K., who were established as incredibly cool but often relegated to supporting roles, are now given entire episodes to explore their abilities, their dark histories, and their unique place in the city's ecosystem. This dedicated focus enriches the whole world, transforming Libra from a cool ensemble into a genuine, highly dysfunctional, but fiercely loyal family. Their interactions, the relentless teasing, Zapp's continuous misfortune, Klaus's gentlemanly resolve are the true heart of the show.
This season masterful…

Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond is a series that follows the adventures of a group of super-powered individuals who protect the city of Hellsalem's Lot from various supernatural threats. The series is a sequel to the original Blood Blockade Battlefront anime and features the same cast of characters.
The animation and art style of the series are visually stunning, with vibrant colors and detailed character designs. The action scenes are well choreographed and exciting to watch, with a good mix of hand-to-hand combat and supernatural powers.
However, the plot of the series can be confusing and disjointed at times, with several storylines and subplots that don't always connect well. The pacing can also be slow at times, with some episodes feeling like filler.
The characters themselves…

This anime brought me a ton of joy watching. There was never a dull moment, throughout the entire anime I was hooked. The animation style along with the character's development are pieced together perfectly. I wish there was a little more content because the episodes were very interesting. The story is for the most part, always fast paced, there are certain times when the plot slows down but in general not really. This show does an amazing job at creating an enviorment of controlled chaos. As I previously stated, it is very fast paced and there is a lot going on at all times, but that is also what makes the show very good. The plot also takes on a sort of "new adventure" or "new event" every episode which kept me interested the entire time. Kekkai Sensen & Beyond had a lot of moments where…

What are the merits of this second season? More time with the characters from the first season? More opportunities to indulge in the humor of Kekkai Sensen? A chance to see the MC use his abilities more? Yeah, all of those are reasonable points to make if you want to talk about why this season could be categorized as "good." Actually, if you're like me, and the first season was enjoyable to you only because of the in-between elements of it that had nothing to do with the story--hence me mentioning the humor--then perhaps this season will be worth a lot to you because there effectively is no story.
But if you're coming off the tail of the first season--even if you didn't like it all that much--I'll bet that you were expecting to see something more from a sequel. Why would you expect that?…

Honestly, everything in season 2 is even better than season 1. They "forgot" the villains and started to develop the characters in a way better.
The story of the second season makes the same mistake as the first, which is not developing the plot well. That made the story a little confusing, although the remaining potential started to be used in the final episodes.
Everything that happens in Hellsalem's Lot is extremely interesting. What unpredictable anomaly will emerge today? What kind of monster will emerge tonight? Will I be able to eat my favorite burger on this beautiful day? None of these questions have a right answer when it comes to living in Hellsalem's Lot.
Some characters are not highlighted but are not forgotten. This season there were specific episodes for each member of Li…

Kekkai Scythes & Beyond
The second season of the series should have been the first. At least it would have made much more sense.
In the second season, we finally see more to the characters and minimal background to the world before the series suddenly ends for good. This results in 6 episodes before the end, only becoming interested in the characters. The first season was empty, it had nothing but humor. And you could hardly empathize with the characters because they were just empty shells.
Now they became not directly profound, but much more sympathetic because you learned more of their personality.
Episodes 1-10 are just single-character arcs or comedy episodes. In the end, there is a small character plot, which in my opinion was interesting, but seems completely unimportant.

This anime is probably one of the hardest things I've had to watch.
Story: I thought the story was fine until the last three episodes they were just huge misses for me.
Art: This seasons only redeeming factor is the blood arts. Leos eyes are also super nice looking.
Sound: They didn't mess up on sound.
Character: I think the mc's reason for not using his eyes is kind of bad. Zapp is hard to watch a most the time and b/c they're the most frequent characters.
Enjoyment: WHY? WHY did the three episodes have to be what they were. Don't have children if you're an assassin. Don't marry men that are 3-4 times your own age. :(

Torn between giving it a 7 or an 8, I'll have to say I could watch the second season so much easier than the first. The last two episodes specifically, raised my enjoyment of it and gave me the plot I wanted to see. Too bad it was only the last two episodes though.
Despite being the better season for me (personally), I will say that the first season has more of a story behind it. It was more than two episodes worth, that's for sure. And this season didn't even delve deeper into the story I wanted, so my expectations of it being more plot driven went down the drain pretty quick. But definitely didn't feel like a drag watching the 12 episodes, binged about 9 episodes in one day and kinda sad it's over.
Hardly any new characters are introduced. The main cast was already pretty much solidi…

Kekkai sensen & Beyond is one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had, just like its first season is a show style over substance episodic, but I am anticipating I will try that this review is the most complete possible.
Story
Leonardo Wacth came to Hellsalem's Lot, which is literally New York with random monsters, but with the same stereotypes of this city (which I will not say). Leonardo for things of destiny joins a organization called LIBRA whose objective is to maintain peace in the city and in the world.
Characters
The most solid point of the series, they are well characterized and also give an episode to each one to know more about them, my problem is that for the main story it does not contribute anything, there is even a characters that are relevant in a single episode, a p…

Honestly, I'm not sure why the most recent reviews are so pure.
However, the vibes from season 1 and season 2 widely differ. Season 1 was much more serious with an extended dark plot and suitable ending that left many in tears. Season 2 was more lighthearted, giving us an insight to the characters backgrounds and random cases that the team would solve.
Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Season 2's style, but that's just a personal preference of preferring the characters over an extended dark plot.
While I do agree that some of the episodes seem a bit rushed, the sound and enjoyment does not fail me. With both seasons, I thoroughly enjoyed the soundtracks and it's one of the few that I nearly never skip the intro nor outro.
Season 2 allowed us greater insight into the characters, showi…

It is not as good as the first season, I do not see evolution in the protagonist only in the last chapters against the doctor I see that he does something. After the rest of the chapters more or less leaves me without wanting to see more. Because episodes have become chapters and that as there is no main plot as in the first but it is entertaining. For the characters we already knew and the world in which it introduces you.
Kekkai Sensen is undoubtedly an anime that didn’t have much to keep, due to its closed and slightly incoherent but pleasant ending. But surprisingly, this second season ended up pleasing me more than I thought it would.
Primarily she kept everything I like Kekkai sensen, the animation, the soundtrack and the characters remain extremely charismatic, only this time there is no super confused and meaningless villain. I felt that this season tried to focus more on developing the characters, giving more or less 1 or 2 episodes for each one, for example the episode of Steven, which is perfect, the one in Chain which is really fun, and the one in the hospital explains more about Klaus and Steven's relationship.
In short there is not much I can say about this season since (I postponed writing the…

I don't usually watch anime and it's even more ironic when I'm so invested in drawing anime-like characters, but when I do, I'd choose something that 1. is born for technical admiration (at least the other aspects are digestible), 2. memorable character and world building. Well, guess what? This show is surprisingly all about those ridiculous standards of mine.
Story: 6/10
Okay, for those who don't like the idea of an anime that does not have any real interesting plot hooks in particular, I can relate to that now. Jokes're everywhere, but feel forced and cheap, although I appreciate the effort in trying to make a bunch of well-placed humor without ruining the mood (well, it did, half of the time). Small stories of the rest of Libra's members only told more about how these characters reac…

Kekkai Sensen was a mediocre anime I reviewed five years ago. It had some good ideas but lacklustre execution and largely dull characters worked against it. Well, now I've got a request for its sequel, which came out in 2017. So, let's see if it improves like Overlord did or stays relatively stagnant like Sword Art Online. (Yes, I know the second series was a slight improvement. But going from a '2' quality to a '3' is hardly worth celebrating.)
Story:
& Beyond is largely made up of stand alone episodes that seem to be trying to add some depth to our protagonists from Libra while providing an entertaining viewing experience. That seems to be the goal, at any rate.
The biggest problem with it is that a lot of these stand alone episodes aren't very interesting. They rely a lot on over t…

Was this show bad? No, but when compared to season one it's a huge dissapointment. Kekkai Sensen season one is a great example of seriealized story telling: each episode had a contained story while building on its characters on maving the season story forward as a whole. This season left that behind, instead giving us a purely episodic almost-anthology show where the characters barely developed and an overall arc was almost non existant.
It's really sad to me to see a show where the first season was so good - stylish, interesting, with a compelling set of characters that develop and drive the plot forward - only for the second season to fail completely to deliver on all of these elements.
If you liked Kekkai Sensen season one, leave it there. The ending of the first season is a far bette…

I really love the first season and thought it did everything right! it is of one my favorites but Beyond felt boring at times! It felt very dull and while there were great moments overall it was a very dreadful experience! it was a let down considering the excitement that was building! The Animation and Music were amazing as everyone expected but story wise it felt very stale and the main villain was introduced too late unlike the king of despair which they built to the entire first season! It felt way too laid back and did get me to care! Everyone was back and they didn't really good on the character stuff! They developed characters who really needed it (Like Chain and Zed) and did a fantastic job with Leo where he shines once again as a fun likable main character! The last two episodes a…

Kekkai Sensen & Beyond is just what you would expect from Leo and Libra, a mixture of action, comedy and mystery, but with the added benefit of answering some of lingering questions of the previous season !
Story: (7/10)
I DISAGREE wholeheartedly with the other reviews that argue that S2 has no plot. Kekkai Sensen in general is a melting pot of sensory overload, from the monsters, explosions to everyday mundane life in the city.
Both season 1 and 2 do not follow an overarching plot format until strictly speaking ep 10-12 for S1 and ep 11-12 for S2. In both seasons, there are episodes dedicated to certain characters, although S2 takes a more direct approach. What &Beyond does better though is that they follow the source material more accurately, without the anime original characters like…

If like me,you like the first season and were delighted to see the MC change and expect some modification in his character after: having to fight against people he know and his "girlfriend" being kill. Nope, you will be disappointed, for most of the season it's like White never existed and Leonardo personality is the same as in ep 2 of s1. The episode in themself aren't that bad but they feel like a bunch of OVA and you can probably see them in whatever order you want, but while some are decent some just feel like filler and see no character or plot devlopement. And what seem to be important vilain and a large part of the big plot of kekkai sensen : the blood breed, are none existent they're just the generic vilain of the episode. To conclude it's acceptable in itself and bad as a second s…
